Hi. So I had my growth scan and consultant appointment today and I'm now booked in for induction on 6th Jan at 38 weeks! Very excited and nervous now! Feeling very, very real!!

pigletpie2177 · 22/12/2020 16:48

Oooh @Grumpy19 how exciting! Did they give you a rough weight? How far along will you be on 6th?

pigletpie2177 · 22/12/2020 16:49

Sorry just read you put 38 weeks d'oh! 🙈

Grumpy19 · 22/12/2020 16:53

They think he's 6lbs 6oz now and will be around 7lbs 7oz then.

We are home. Eve is home for Christmas Eve Eve ☺️ 2 weeks and a day in NICU. It's been exhausting but we are so pleased and grateful to finally be home. xx

Grumpy19 · 24/12/2020 16:23

Ooh @WhoUsedMyName, exciting! Are you 38 weeks now or am I confused!?
Do you think you lost all your plug? They are massive aren't they! It took a few days from losing mine to DD2 making her appearance.

WhoUsedMyName · 24/12/2020 16:43

@Grumpy19 I've never lost the whole thing before that I'm aware of but was disgusting I'm guessing the whole thing it was quite big. I've been looking and can take a while after losing it I'm not getting any niggles yet il be 38 on Sunday x

SharonR88 · 26/12/2020 09:05

Hi all I'm 36wks and 1day my waters ruptured this morning literally leaking like a tsp but I've been sent home they want me to induce me at 37 weeks that's in 6 days has anyone else experienced this I'm scared

flashbac · 26/12/2020 09:21

@sharonR88
It's understandable to feel fear but they wouldn't have sent you home if concerned? Mine broke fully at 34 weeks. Try and get ready mentally. You'll be meeting your baby soon! Wishing you all the best.

SharonR88 · 26/12/2020 09:30

@flashbac thank you that's reassuring. Did you go into Labour yourself or were you induced? How long did you go without the water?

flashbac · 26/12/2020 09:35

It happened spontaneously. Labour then slowed right down so they checked and found she was now in transverse lie so I had a c section. What bits are you most scared about? Can you list them? Is it because it's slightly early? The induction? The birth?

SharonR88 · 26/12/2020 12:17

@flashbac they have sent me home and said I will be induced on the 1st Jan which is still 6 days away I'm just worried if baby will ok without the fluid for this long.

Did you go into Labour couple of days later?

Thank you

X

flashbac · 26/12/2020 14:55

@sharonR88
Do you have your midwife's number? Could they perhaps advise you? I was dilated when my waters went and they weren't happy with the baby's heart rate (and she was showing small on growth scans) hence emergency c section otherwise I would have tried to keep her in a little longer.

Lollipop93 · 26/12/2020 15:52

Correct me if I’m wrong but does waters not always replace themselves meaning that it’s not like it’s running out? My waters broke on the Friday after being induced on the Thursday and didn’t have baby till the Sunday. I think they will be just wanting to start you off as they have ruptured and don’t want to leave you but you should have a normal induction experience it’s just a case of being brought in early due to early rupture of waters. Make sure they keeping an eye on you though and if you are in any doubt phone them at any point xxx

pigletpie2177 · 26/12/2020 16:37

@SharonR88 I was admitted overnight at 31 weeks as I tested positive for PPROM (leaking waters). They pumped me full of steroids and sent me home with antibiotics hoping to get me to 37 weeks before they had to do anything. As it happens, it seems to have resolved (they can reseal apparently, but maybe false positive in my case) and I'll also be 37 weeks on NYD. I suspect given you're so close now they aren't overly concerned - I've been on weekly scans since to keep an eye on growth and water and they have calmed down now I'm near 37w. Try to rest and drink lots of fluids yourself, and don't stress yourself out over this. You'll be meeting your baby soon - congratulations!x

VeeVeeBee77 · 26/12/2020 19:08

Glad she's home @198435years!

Had been anxious about going into labour on Christmas Day but seems I've got through that hurdle ok. In hindsight, our tier 4 Christmas with just the two of us was exactly what I needed at this stage of pregnancy, I think a normal year's family Christmas would have whacked me out! Hope you other ladies had nice days yesterday too

footprintsintheslow · 27/12/2020 04:04

Happy 38 weeks @WhoUsedMyName

Getting lots of uncomfortable movements and fanny daggers here. I feel like it's trying to get out! I'm trying to enjoy these last two weeks of my last pregnancy. Eating eating eating.
