Aww @MnM156 what terrible timing! Hope your DH improves super quickly and the rest of your induction goes smoothly x

footprintsintheslow · 17/12/2020 18:11

@MnM156 god what a horrid night to ensure.

How are you getting on now though?

MnM156 · 17/12/2020 22:32

@footprintsintheslow and @Grumpy19
They tried to insert the foley balloon but failed as I was not even 1 cm dilated and my cervix is posterior and way far back. So went with a pessary at 6pm. I started having tightenings an hour later and they are just getting frequent and stronger. Still a long way to go I guess but it's painful.

Grumpy19 · 17/12/2020 22:45

Oh wow, so exciting! Remember, breathing and gravity are your friends! You will soon have your little bundle to cuddle. X

MeganC104 · 17/12/2020 23:09

@MnM156 oh good luck!

WhoUsedMyName · 18/12/2020 09:10

@MnM156 hope you're baby is here and well or that you are well ok your way now. Can't wait for an update

Great advice. Breathing and standing up is very underrated
pigletpie2177 · 18/12/2020 16:08

Hope everyone's ok. Looking forward to an update @MnM156!

I had another growth scan today after going from 50th to 21st - this one came in about 40th so they're much happier and are now leaving me alone over Christmas. Another growth scan booked for 8th jan (38wks) then I'm inclined to have a sweep at 39 but I think I've decided against induction anything changes.

Have you had another scan @Grumpy19 or have I made that up?

Grumpy19 · 18/12/2020 16:11

That's great news @pigletpie2177. My growth scan is on Tuesday! Hopefully he won't be huge!
I'm having sweeps from 38 weeks though due to low papp-a.

footprintsintheslow · 19/12/2020 08:07

@pigletpie2177 great update there. What a relief.

Grumpy19 · 19/12/2020 14:10

So, has anyone else experienced sudden increase in the amount they need to go to the loo? (For both! Sorry tmi) I've also started with period pains in the evening with BH rock hard tummy too.

Despite this being my 4th, 2 inductions and one brought on fairly quickly by a sweep, I don't really remember this! Hoping this baby might decide to come naturally at 38/39 weeks so I can avoid induction number 3. (35 + 3 today)

Grumpy19 · 19/12/2020 14:14

@MnM156, hope you are ok.

footprintsintheslow · 19/12/2020 18:26

@Grumpy19 just many many wees. I feel desperate to go like I'm going to burst then a teaspoon comes out.

footprintsintheslow · 19/12/2020 18:26

Not an actual teaspoon.

Grumpy19 · 19/12/2020 18:34

😂 at the idea of an actual teaspoon @footprintsintheslow! I'm going constantly! I don't think he's engaged at all though as I'm getting so sudden pains and bump bulges very high up by rubs - it will be interesting to see if he is breech!
Oh, the other thing is that every time I sneeze (again quite often) is I feel like I get a terrible stitch in my lower bump! 😣

pigletpie2177 · 19/12/2020 19:03

@footprintsintheslow I actually laughed out loud at the teaspoon comment 😂

@Grumpy19 I got up 3 times in the night 🙈 I'd been pretty good up til that point too - once at most really. Guess you'll find out if breech on Tuesday - though mine is head down and I often get a big bulge quite high on my bump. This one obviously has my bum ☺️

footprintsintheslow · 19/12/2020 20:20

@Grumpy19 same here. Last time I had scan she was holding the handheld thing up in my bra as there was a foot so high up.

WhoUsedMyName · 20/12/2020 07:56

37 weeks today yay! I don't remember ever being in so much pain though. I'm like an old lady everything hurts maybe because I'm older and so much fatter then before lol

WhoUsedMyName · 20/12/2020 08:06

My whole house is asleep 💤 I'm downstairs drinking raspberry leaf tea on my birthing ball I always feel tired always want a lie in and my body just won't let me .
😑
Also we are now in tier 4 I wonder what happens for labour

pigletpie2177 · 20/12/2020 08:15

@WhoUsedMyName on no! Any update on hospital social media pages? I don't think our tier changes (north west) have had much, if any, effect but then they've been pretty strict up here throughout.

Think I need to get a birthing ball now. I'm pretty uncomfortable all the time but particularly in the evenings. Have you found it's helped much?

WhoUsedMyName · 20/12/2020 08:23

I will have a look, yes it's a lot more comfortable then sitting on a chair for me. I have always sworn by them I remember the first day I got one with dd I went on it for half an hour and had her that night so have been telling anyone that will listen like it's magic but she was obviously just ready BlushGrin

pigletpie2177 · 20/12/2020 10:09

Ooh maybe I need to avoid it for a bit then ☺️ want comfort but no great desire to have baby this early 🙈 ditto raspberry leaf tea, which sounds quite nice!

VeeVeeBee77 · 20/12/2020 11:12

@WhoUsedMyName Also in Tier 4 here, I've got a midwife appointment tomorrow so plan on asking her for info on what's changed if the hospital trust hasn't put anything out before then

Grumpy19 · 20/12/2020 12:43

So sorry for you ladies in tier 4. It's just such crap timing!
@WhoUsedMyName, I know what you mean about aching! I never remember being this achy in previous pregnancies! I'm having to stagger to the loo in the night bent over as my back won't stretch out. I also seem to be getting BH through the night too now as it wakes me up!

WhoUsedMyName · 20/12/2020 13:42

Oh it's rubbish isn't it this is going to be the most boring uncomfortable Xmas ever! I'm going into hibernation
