Hey @jessiecxo our dates are so similar! I'm exactly 7 weeks today so due the 10th July and have also booked an early scan on the 12th when I'll be 10 weeks exactly!

I'm hopeful things will be better by the summer. As yet I don't even have a booking apt or 12 week scan confirmed yet, apparently I'll hear within a couple of weeks. Feels like I'm in a weird limbo atm.

How are you feeling symptoms wise? Mine are pretty mild, no real nausea or sickness so far, mainly tiredness and a sudden aversion to coffee which I used to love, even decaf!

strawberrycherryblossom · 21/11/2020 19:11

In case it helps anyone worrying about symptoms, I had very little with DC1. Some very mild nausea that came and went and a couple of food aversions. It was a very healthy pregnancy!

@jessiecxo @Baker0104 can you/have you spoken to your midwife? It will vary by area but things are pretty normal here. All appointments face to face, same amount of appointments as before and postnatal services (HV, feeding support etc) also running as normal. Partners allowed to 12 and 20 week scans and with you for the entire duration of labour. The only thing they can't attend is your normal appointments but to be honest they're only 15 minutes for the midwife to check your wee, measure your bump and listen to baby.

Hopefully things will be more normal by next summer but your midwife may be able to reassure you a little in the meantime xx

Baker0104 · 21/11/2020 19:25

@strawberrycherryblossom I looked on the local trusts website last night and partners still can't come to scans etc, booking appointment with midwife is half over the phone and half face to face, tongue tie and breast feeding clinics aren't running etc. It's so frustrating because there are other hospital trusts that have much higher figures than us and yet the partners are allowed to attend. It doesn't make any logical sense 🤔 the only good thing they say is that partners can be there from the very start of labour or induction, but they can't leave the hospital at all once they're in. Even if it goes on for days. Just so peculiar! I'm going to have a chat with the midwife though and see if there's a plan to lift restrictions soon!

Jilly1988 · 21/11/2020 19:30

@Luckyelephant1 you are very close to me. I will be 7 weeks on Monday with a due date of 12th July. Means our 12 weeks falls in an awkward time between Christmas and new year. I also have no really symptoms. My tummy feels a bit funny when I'm really hungry just like a really empty stomach, then when I eat I'm fine but that's about it.

Char899 · 21/11/2020 21:10

Anyone else feel crazy bloated? I literally look pregnant! Overnight I suddenly have this big swollen tummy 🤷🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️ I definitely didn’t have this with ds

strawberrycherryblossom · 21/11/2020 21:16

@Baker0104 it is very strange. Case numbers here have been consistently low for quite a while now though.

At our hospital they ask partners to minimise their journeys in and out but if they need to leave for something that's absolutely fine. Just hoping it stays that way!

happylittlechick · 21/11/2020 21:42

I'm really worried about partners. I'm expecting to be high risk as I had pre eclampsia in my last pregnancy. I was in hospital for 4days before giving birth. Would hate to do that without visits. Does anyone know if that automatically makes me high risk?

Char899 · 21/11/2020 21:49

@happylittlechick I don’t know enough about what’s classed as high risk but if you had pre eclampsia in your last pregnancy I imagine you’ll be monitored very closely this pregnancy!

NamechangeTTC · 21/11/2020 21:49

I'm checking in. I go back for bloods tomorrow to compare hcg for? Ectopic.

I'm worried. Some dark cream discharge on underwear. Nothing on wiping. I'm so worried. Spent last night on a drip in the gynae ward but my hcg was too low to scan. Needs to be 1000 apparently and was 582 yesterday. They're retesting 46 hours later

Heathrose22 · 21/11/2020 22:47

Hello

Is it possible to join too? I'm 6 weeks 4 days. Had an early scan last week due to spotting no heart beat yet so waiting to have the re scan next week.
Feels very surreal to be pregnant. It's my 2nd have a 9yr old daughter. Lots of different thoughts/ worries. We're all on quite a journey!!
Giod luck everyone xx

Baker0104 · 21/11/2020 23:13

@namechangettc thinking of you, good luck! Try and stay positive. Let us know how things go x

Baker0104 · 21/11/2020 23:17

@strawberrycherryblossom it's very odd isn't it. Our cases have never been extremely high either, my boss works at the hospital I'd be giving birth in so I knew how busy the ICU was etc as he was emergency trained to work in there if it got too busy etc, he only did 3 days so we were nowhere near overwhelmed.
That's good partners can leave and come up if needed, our hospital started providing meals for partners so they didn't have to leave. All very strange if you ask me lol. Just hoping the rules start to relax soon! 😬

PurpleIsTheColour · 22/11/2020 07:39

@NamechangeTTC, sending you a virtual hug and keeping 🤞🤞🤞 your little bean is okay! xx

Flittingaboutagain · 22/11/2020 08:02

Morning all.

Namechange - hope all is OK for you.

Here the policy is any appointments that can be over the phone are. Things like the GD two stage test are just one to reduce the appointments. No partners to any appointments. Partners allowed once active labour established. Quite scary but we've lost a number of staff to Covid including a matron, theatre technician and two midwives so I think in our hospital it is justified.

I do think with news of the vaccines we can all be hopeful the situation will improve by July Smile

happylittlechick · 22/11/2020 09:10

I think the rules will likely be relaxed by July.

AliceinBunniland · 22/11/2020 09:43

@Char899 I am very bloated. Yesterday I ate KFC(!) at about 2 PM and at 8 PM I showed DH my massive belly. I felt full and bloated and it's like that every day hours after I've eaten. I don't remember this from my first pregnancy.

Hope you are okay @NamechangeTTC

Hey! I know, my 12 weeks is Boxing Day, so annoying! Defo don't think I will get the NHS scan before that, I have the private scan at 10 weeks but based on what I've been reading about private scans, I don't really trust them to tell me anything other than if the baby is in the right place and if he/she has a heartbeat. Which means I don't think I'll be telling my family until the new year 😐. I was hoping for a lovely Xmas announcement but I'd rather not say anything to anyone until I know all is well, so at the moment it's just between me and DH! My birthday is early Jan so if I've had the scan by then maybe thats a good time to announce.

Keep me updated on your symptoms! Yesterday whatever I ate didn't taste right to me, it was like I could taste everything normally but I wasn't enjoying it. I got takeaway coffee (decaf) from one of my favourite cafes and it tasted horrendous... Usually I'm a coffee fiend!

NamechangeTTC · 22/11/2020 10:20

Thanks for checking in folks. I'm trying to keep busy. Back for bloods this evening then if they are high enough it's a location scan on Monday. They didn't say the plan if not.

Husband isn't allowed to any of these. Wasn't allowed in when I was in with ? ectopic and I don't think gets in for the scan. Not even sure what happens.

I wouldn't go in the bed on Friday cause I felt guilty they'd have to clean it so I Sat in a chair forever. I'm going in the bed tonight if I get a choice 😂

Runnergirl1 · 22/11/2020 10:40

@NamechangeTTC good luck this evening x

jessiecxo · 22/11/2020 10:52

Hey @Luckyelephant1 I got a letter through the other week with details for my first antenatal appointment with the midwife. It’s on the 30th November, all over the phone though.
My biggest symptom to start with was cramping but that seems to have eased, and now just the past few days I’ve been feeling nauseous at times but not actually sick, hoping it stays that way 🙈.

jessiecxo · 22/11/2020 10:57

@strawberrycherryblossom I have my first appointment with the midwife on the 30th but it is over the phone. As far as I’m aware partners are still not allowed to attend any appointments and when you go into hospital to give birth they have to wait to come in until you are actually about to give birth 🙈. I live in Halton we were in tier 3 before lockdown so must be different where you are. Just hoping it changes, really don’t want to do everything alone.

NamechangeTTC · 22/11/2020 12:34

I've been taking these to try to calm my nerves and hope that we have a good hcg tonight.
This is the week of progression -15dpo is in my work bag, at work, from when I had to leave Sharp on Friday.

@jessiecxo we were always tier 1 so that probably plays a part. I was also relieved when I saw the midwife as it's the same lady who looked after me throughout my first pregnancy. She also sees all women the same amount (I think technically I should have less appointments this time but she will do them as if it was my first).

One thing I will say is that while I was grateful my partner was there when I gave birth last time the midwives are amazing. They are your cheerleader. I know no one wants to give birth or labour without their partner but please don't ever think you'll be alone. Covid or not, they will still hold your hand and be there for you every step of the way. They are absolute angels x

cakecakecheese · 22/11/2020 14:38

@Cloverghirl I'm 6+5 and it's my first at the age of 40 Let's be old age mummy buddies Grin
