I’m 5wk + 1 (ish) with my first! The first 12 weeks seem to be the scariest with no contact! I’m tempted to book an early scan before Xmas so we can tell people, but is it too risky to tell people before 12 weeks? I’ll be 10 weeks on Christmas!

Jilly1988 · 21/11/2020 10:39

Hi @BKB27 I am 6+5 today and feeling very anxious. I have no symptoms at all. My nipples were sensitive last week but don't same to be anymore. I don't have any sickness. Sometimes I have a real hunger type feeling in my tummy but that is it. I'm the same just tired in the evening. I had a proper panic this morning with my husband about lack of symptoms and that I just don't feel pregnant. We had been trying for 20 months and had a very early loss just before 5 weeks in august.

BKB27 · 21/11/2020 10:48

Hi @Jilly1988. Im sorry to hear of your loss. Thats exactly how I feel and I had a complete panic at my husband this morning too! A lot of this is just simply not in our control which is difficult to accept. It seems that symptoms aren't as strong so early as maybe we hope or expect? Sending hugs x

WalkingMeAway · 21/11/2020 11:29

Such a man anxious time isn’t it ladies. So sorry for your losses.

I got my booking in and scan appointment in the post this morning. Scan is 6th Jan. I’d love to be able to tell family and friends at Christmas ! I have a private scan at 7 weeks. Not sure what to do !

WalkingMeAway · 21/11/2020 11:29

Man anxious 🤔 🤣

Jilly1988 · 21/11/2020 11:44

So sorry for your losses too @BKB27 I think I just want to feel pregnant. I thought I would have felt more at nearly 7 weeks. Are you having an early scan? Some people symptoms don't start until 8 weeks or so. I've never had sore boobs before AF etc so hoping that's all linked and it's normal. Places like this help. X

BKB27 · 21/11/2020 11:53

@Jilly1988 I thought so too but reading other comments and on Google it seems its maybe too early? I have a scan next week through the ivf clinic, reassurance scan they call it. I hope it does! I've heard of a book called pregnancy after loss which I might get, may help! Places like this definitely help make you feel less alone! X

Flittingaboutagain · 21/11/2020 11:54

Hi all, I have booked my early scan now for when I'll be 8 weeks. I won't bother contacting GP for midwife referral until after the scan (if all is well) as I know I'll refuse all screening tests like last time and after my 12 week MMC in August, I just can't face having loads of conversations about a baby who might not be coming! It just felt all so much worse last time as the appointments got me all excited for nothing and made the whole experience more upsetting.

To reassure some of you, I had symptoms come and go the whole time and MW told me over 20% women have no symptoms at all until the last trimester. There was no link to my MMC.

Sallyjo27 · 21/11/2020 11:55

Hi ladies I’m cautiously joining the thread after 3 miscarriages this year. I’m currently 4 weeks pregnant, I’ve not really got many symptoms, apart from sore boobs, bloating and not sleeping (but I think that’s the worrying) I’m taking 75mg of aspirin this time and cyclogest pessaries too so fingers crossed we get our rainbow baby this time x

Blughbablugh · 21/11/2020 12:01

Morning all. I'm going to have a bit of a moan. I think its rubbish that everywhere seems to be very different for maternity care. I'm 8 weeks on Monday and haven't heard a peep from anyone. From what I remember from my first pregnancy I won't get a call until 1 -2 weeks time to arrange my booking in appointment for 10 weeks. Then I remember last time after the booking in the midwife then arranges the 12 week scan which i can see it being a real push before Christmas. I will be 12 weeks Christmas week. Last time I didn't hear anything and had to phone the hospital myself to see if it had been booked in for a scan at 11 weeks as she was on annual leave and couldn't get hold of her, it will be the same midwife this time as well sorry, I just wanted a rant as I'm feeling a bit left out. I can see it also being worse this time due to covid. Sad

Is anyone else extremely tired all
The time?

Sleeeeeepy · 21/11/2020 13:41

@Jilly1988 I've never had symptoms before about 7 weeks when my sickness tends to kick in. I only knew I was pregnant last time because I started feeling sick, I'd been having 'periods' so had no idea x

luxxlisbon · 21/11/2020 15:02

Feeling stressed today, I just had the tiniest amount of lightly tinged pink discharge when I wiped. None in underwear and really not that much but I’m just hoping there isn’t anymore. I have a private scan on Friday anyway but it’s so hard not to worry.
I was feeling really sick on Wednesday and Thursday and actually felt quite good today and yesterday, now I’m worried this is why I wasn’t so sick.

Jobsharenightmare · 21/11/2020 15:19

Pregnancy can be such a time of worry and angst can't it!

Jobsharenightmare · 21/11/2020 15:20

Having a rest today. We worry with symptoms and we worry without!

happylittlechick · 21/11/2020 15:57

Is anyone part weight through weightloss? I bought a 12 week SlimmingWorld countdown. I'm down almost a stone so far and would like to keep going but I'm worried that it's not advisable. What do people think?

Cornflake24 · 21/11/2020 16:24

@happylittlechick id check with them and midwife, I was on WW but they do not recommend it if your pregnant.

Baker0104 · 21/11/2020 16:30

@happylittlechick I remember when I did slimming World they say they are the only slimming plan recommended by midwives as safe through pregnancy, you just need to check your healthy extra allowance as it may change. Id probably double check with your midwife at your booking appointment though just to be sure?

cakecakecheese · 21/11/2020 16:34

I am tired all the time yes.

My 12 week scan won't be until 14 weeks I'm assuming because of Christmas.

Crossfingersandtoes · 21/11/2020 16:58

Hello can I join? I am 5 + 4 and a bit stressed after two miscarriages this year. Over 40. Trying to stay calm but very worried I don't have stronger symptoms. Boobs a bit sore and feel a bit sick sometimes. Was majorly tired for a week or so but that seems to have worn off. Hoping and praying and then hoping and praying some more that this one is a sticky bean...

Won't post must until I have a scan around seven weeks but will read and wish you all the best!!

That's really interesting. I'll talk to midwife. Thanks

4Minions2CallMyOwn · 21/11/2020 17:08

I’m pretty worried also. Minimal symptoms, just tiredness but then I’m not sleeping well so unsurprised I’m tired!

Had 2-3 weeks on a ClearBlue Digital last week Friday. Did another today (8 days later) expecting to see 3+ and it’s still 2-3 weeks. On top of the fact that I’m not having symptoms and had a MMC In August I’m just preparing myself for another loss. It’s hard to be optimistic when we lost a baby so recently. DH says to stay positive but it’s so so hard. I’d feel better if I’d seen 3+ but now I feel so down...

Did anyone else have iffy results with ClearBlue Digital and then a healthy baby? I’m so worried

jessiecxo · 21/11/2020 17:51

Hello everyone!
I am due roughly around 6th July 2021, currently 7 weeks + 4 days. It still feels so surreal and I don’t think it’ll sink in until my first scan and I see for myself! I have been on the pill for a good 10+ years and only came off it the beginning of October to start trying for a family, by 30th October I had my first positive test!
I have booked in for a private scan on 12th December when I will be 10 weeks so that me and my fiancé can see the baby for the first time together, rather than on my own at the 12 week scan.
We’re just hoping all the covid business settles down soon and my fiancé is able to attend appointments with me, anybody else anxious about these circumstances at the minute? Surely things will be better by next summer right?
xxx

Cloverghirl · 21/11/2020 18:05

Hi ladies,

I’m 6 weeks. First time and as I’m 41 I’m slightly paranoid it’s nice to be able to hear other people’s experiences 😀

Baker0104 · 21/11/2020 18:15

@4minions2callmyown I can imagine you're worried, must be a scary time. Just a bit of reassurance though, my best friend sis a clear blue and it said 2-3 weeks... She had to have an early scan and she was actually 8 weeks! Her little boy turns 2 next month! So I do think they can be a bit iffy, everything crossed for you x

@jessiecxo I'm so worried about the covid restrictions, part of the reason we're having a private early scan so he can actually be there for me at the first one, I was reading so many things last night about clinics and services that aren't running in my area including breastfeeding and tongue tie! I got so angry I had to stop as it's a long way away so hopefully it starts going back to normal by July
