@WarrickDavisAsPlates i am trying to spend about that too! Also last baby.

Think i may use amazon baby wish list for most of what i need, if you spend £800 (i think) you can save 20% so £640.

Flittingaboutagain · 05/02/2021 18:21

She told me at the 12 week scan....She said so this is your placenta (whilst showing it to me on the screen) and saying it looked healthy etc ....and then said as it's at the front you're likely to not feel movement until much later so don't worry etc if it gets to 20+ weeks and you still can't feel it yet. It seems like an obvious thing to say if the placenta and it's health gets mentioned. Not an obvious thing to ask about though!

WarrickDavisAsPlates · 05/02/2021 18:50

@THATbasicSNOWFLAKE found this one on amazon, I like the price but am a bit suspicious about the cheapness. I'm an old fashioned lass and am so hesitant to make a big important purchase without seeing it in person.

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 05/02/2021 20:06

Ive had a similar Graco one before @WarrickDavisAsPlates and it was hard having to have the bigger child at the front, makes the pram very front heavy and hard to steer

Fartymcfart · 06/02/2021 12:31

I've also used the linked pram, borrowed from a friend for a short break it was horrible, heavy, hard to steer, though my friend used it for years!

TiredAlreadyOhDear · 06/02/2021 12:44

I’m a bit lost with the travel system situation - way too many to choose from and nothing that I’ve seen that covers everything I’m looking for. I’m just going to wait it out until shops open up I think.

I’m looking forward to my 20w scan now only a few weeks away! I’ve been told this scan is a lot more in detail and will last longer than the first one which I’m excited about! Xx

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 06/02/2021 15:33

My scan is in about 10/11 days Shock

Re travel systems, most people dont need a car seat that can click on to the pram

TiredAlreadyOhDear · 06/02/2021 16:49

My scan is the 24th Feb.

Yeah I was thinking the same...however I do need pram and car seat and isofix so thinking it might work out cheaper to get it all in a bundle.

What is everyone doing exercise wise at the moment? I’m just walking mainly due to lockdown and the gyms being shut but was going to try and do some yoga and home workouts if anyone has any good recommendations? Xx

Warrickdaviesasplates · 06/02/2021 16:56

Thanks for the pram tips @Fartymcfart and @THATbasicSNOWFLAKE I've seen a couple of travel system types now where the older baby was sort of at the back/bottom and the little baby is sort of above and in front. I thought that didn't look very nice for the older one though as the other seat is almost right in their face. Maybe it'd be easier to use though.

My 20 week scan isn't until the 11th of March, feels like so long to wait! Sounds like I was lucky to have a 16 week mw appointment though so can't complain too much. How's everyone coping with childcare during appointments? I'm keeping my fingers crossed my mum can watch DS and DD might be back at school so that DH can come in with me. He'll only be allowed at the 20 week appointment and the birth so I'd like him to make it if he can.

Warrickdaviesasplates · 06/02/2021 17:00

www.smythstoys.com/uk/en-gb/baby/pushchairs-and-strollers/travel-systems/babylo-duo-x2-travel-system/p/169750

This is the other type of pram I was badly describing, I'm not sure if DS will be too big for it though at 25 months and I'm not sure about the baby seat being right in his face, he hates the pram as it is so I might be overthinking it all.

Zo35 · 06/02/2021 17:11

I'm planning on having my mum come into the house for our 20week scan which is next weekend. Same here that DH couldn't come to 12w scan but is allowed at 20w and then birth so we are using mum as childcare for 'medical reasons'. We actually let her into the house today for the first time in months, against the rules, but I'm pleased we did as DS was a bit confused about having someone else in the house at first and not sure what he would've made of it if it had been next week and Dh and I had then immediately left! (She has had first dose of vaccine and coincidentally had worked from home all last week so we thought it was a minimal risk)

Zo35 · 06/02/2021 17:14

Also, we will have some similar age gaps I think. DS should be 2y2m when this one arrives.
I wasn't planning on getting a double! Hopefully it ends up being ok. Will get by with either baby in carry cot and DS walking or on a buggy board (which I need to order). Or DS in buggy and baby in sling. Depending on what we are doing.
We also have an Ergobaby stroller in addition to the bigger Uppababy Cruz buggy so if out with someone else they could both have a buggy.

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 06/02/2021 17:28

I don't drive and have children at primary school, i NEED a double. Also worth noting not all children will stand on a buggy board!

@WarrickDavisAsPlates i had been contemplating the phil & teds voyager, or cosatto wow xl. These can both be used in several seat positions might be worth a look, can be either for under £500 and both can also be used as a single

Warrickdaviesasplates · 06/02/2021 17:47

@Zo35 I did consider trying to make do with a sling and DS in the pram but I couldn't get on very well with the sling last time so not sure that'll work for me long term.

Like @THATbasicSNOWFLAKE I don't drive so have to walk everywhere, not sure I've got the patience to let DS walk.

I did see buggy boards in Lidl, if you've got one close to you it might be worth a look if they're on a good offer.

I'll check out those prams that you suggested @THATbasicSNOWFLAKE I feel like I still haven't got my head round having another baby yet so have put off looking at anything and now I feel so behind.

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 06/02/2021 18:26

Still plenty of time @WarrickDavisAsPlates! Another double under 500 that is rated well is a baby jogger but i think having one which can convert to single will be better for me, plus the baby jogger can only parent face while using a carrycot

Zo35 · 06/02/2021 19:05

Oh yes, I can totally see why some people need to get doubles! Some friends did for a similar age gap too and others didn't. It's pretty mixed.
I'd rather avoid so will plan for without and then if it's a nightmare will look for one then, maybe second hand. Hopefully will be ok. I don't have a school run, just a nursery run a few days a week and obv doesn't matter as much if later than normal some days.

Fartymcfart · 06/02/2021 20:08

I had something similar to one of these with my older 2 (19 months between them) to get about my older one loved it, for when he got tired of walking.

I did have a double when the 2nd was really tiny though, we just brought one second hand.
Best pram I ever had was a jane, but that was a long time ago, so no idea if they are any good now.

Someone help? I'm confused I'm 19 weeks today and due 3rd July how come others are saying they're due early July and they're like 7 weeks? Am I being dumb 😂

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 06/02/2021 20:18

I have no idea @NewMum2021x i am due the 4th and 19 weeks tomorrow

TiredAlreadyOhDear · 06/02/2021 20:59

@NewMum2021x yeah them dates don’t add up - I’m 17 weeks and a few days and I’m due on the 14th July.

Luckyelephant1 · 06/02/2021 21:17

I'm guessing typo? Maybe they meant to write 17 weeks not 7? I'm 17+5 and due on 12th, your dates sound right to me.
pinkgin8 · 06/02/2021 21:20

@TiredAlreadyOhDear same date as me!
@NewMum2021x that's impossible so not sure what's happened there, they'd be due in September if anything, maybe a mistake?

Feeling tiny little kicks now when I am in a certain position. Sitting down or laying down.
Can't wait for them to be more stronger!

I found a double pram called the Hauck duett 2 , or hauck duett 3. Not majority expensive ? Can anyone let me know what they think of it too?

pinkgin8 · 06/02/2021 21:22

@TiredAlreadyOhDear oh no mines the 15th July, thought I'd matched with someone then😅
I'm 17 weeks 2 days

TiredAlreadyOhDear · 06/02/2021 21:54

@pinkgin8 yeah I’m 17 weeks and 3 days :) very close though!

I’m still not feeling anything but I think with it being my first I will just have to be patient hahaha!

Luckyelephant1 · 06/02/2021 22:45

Anyone at around 17 weeks suddenly noticing itchy and veiny boobs? The skin around my belly button is suddenly much darker and a bit itchy too. Time to treat myself to some nice body butters/oils I think!
