I can definitely not recommend new look. They are awful. Love leggings look good and I’ve seen lots of recommendations for them.

17+2 and I thought I felt movement the other night but nothing since so maybe I’ve gone crazy.

Luckyelephant1 · 01/02/2021 12:08

I'm 17 weeks today and have felt no movement yet, I'm currently so constipated that I'm not even sure if I would feel anything as all I feel is blocked up! Sorry if TMI.

Regarding leggings I ordered a couple of pairs from Love Leggings and will be promptly returning them. They are awful, fall down, have a thin waistband that already digs in even though the rest of the leggings are roomy, and just don't feel supportive. I've just ordered a cheap pair from Amazon so will see how they are in comparison!

PurpleCurtain · 01/02/2021 12:41

Hmm so I also ordered a pair of leggings and jeggings from Love Leggings. I'm fairly pleased with them, particularly the jeggings, but then I don't feel I have the time in the day to be faffing with returning and re-ordering so maybe my bar is low! But I find the waistband fairly comfortable on the leggings, all I would say is that the sizing is generous, so I actually wish I'd sized down - never thought that would be true of maternity clothes!

pinkgin8 · 01/02/2021 14:31

Starting to feel movements now. Especially today!

Flittingaboutagain · 01/02/2021 18:48

Are the Love Leggings maternity ones? It seems like a mixed review here.

pinkgin8 how exciting!

TiredAlreadyOhDear · 03/02/2021 07:34

I’ve just booked onto the bump and baby antenatal class starting in April! Is anyone else going to do them? I got a free hypnobirthing online course with it as well which is pretty good- I started it last night. X

Fartymcfart · 04/02/2021 12:44

Hi, can anyone help?

I've had my blood tests back for downs and edwards/patau's syndrome. They are as follows:
Downs: 1in8900
Edwards/papa's 1in6600

Are these ok? I never had the test with my other children so am a bit unsure. I'm assuming my age (39) and very fat make me higher risk, the nt measurement on my 14 week scan was 1.5mm.

Any help appreciated, so anxious this time round as much older

AliceinBunniland · 04/02/2021 12:48

I think they are fine Farty Anything under something like 1 in 200 is low risk and it should say on the letter if you are high risk anyway as there are then other things to consider.

TiredAlreadyOhDear · 04/02/2021 15:19

Yeah them number sound like that would be low risk. I had mine I’ll dig my letter out later and check but the numbers sound similar and I was low risk xx

@Fartymcfart your results sound good to me, I got a higher downsyndrome result (1 in 6381) but was assured by the midwife that it was a low result.

Re: leggings, I got some from Asda the other day and I think they're quite good (and cheap) although I would recommend going one size down as they're quite roomy.

I always prefer over the bump as with under bump ones (had some when pregnant with my first) I felt I needed to keep pulling them up.

I definitely feel behind now, I haven't looked at any baby stuff or bought anything, expect the leggings. I know I will need a double pram but really don't want to spend loads as DS is going to be 2 when the baby is born so probably won't get more than a year out of it anyway. I'm mourning the loss of mothercare as our current pram was only £350 from there and I love it. If they had a double version I'd snap it up straight away!

Fartymcfart · 04/02/2021 21:08

Thanks everyone, like I say everything in this pregnancy is making me anxious!
Makes me wonder how I managed to just breeze through it before.

In regards to leggings, I always prefer over the bump as otherwise you are always pulling them up.

Flittingaboutagain · 05/02/2021 01:22

Thanks all. Have ordered some tonight.

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 05/02/2021 07:31

@WarrickDavisAsPlates we are also needing a double, age gap 21/22 months. Which are you looking at?

My downs results was very low 1 in 100,000 but no nuchal went into this so not sure if less accurate. And we didnt get results for the others as i was too far gone at the scan

TiredAlreadyOhDear · 05/02/2021 07:53

Is everyone starting to feel movements now? I’m 17 weeks 3 days and not felt a thing yet - it’s my first so I know that can mean you don’t feel it until a bit later....I’m starting to get a bit nervous that I’m not feeling anything - am I just being impatient? X

luxxlisbon · 05/02/2021 07:55

@TiredAlreadyOhDear I'm getting impatient with this too! I'm exactly 17w3 too and haven't felt anything.
Now I'm paranoid that I have though but I just don't know what to look for so I missed it?
It is definitely normal to not feel it yet though, most first time mums don't feel it until around 20 so we are still early. Hopefully soon though! x

TiredAlreadyOhDear · 05/02/2021 08:16

@luxxlisbon yeah I was thinking that maybe we have felt something but just don’t know that’s what the baby moving feels like 🙈. I think because my 16 week midwife appointment was cancelled last week because of snow I’d just like to feel something to make me feel like things are all ok- but I’m due to go on Tuesday and I think I get to hear the heartbeat so that will be nice. Do you have a bump yet? Xx

luxxlisbon · 05/02/2021 08:31

@TiredAlreadyOhDear I've booked a private scan for Saturday because my trust aren't doing a 16 week appointment at all! They are blaming covid but is just seems so unnecessary to not offer anything, not even a phonecall, so I won't get to hear babies heartbeat without the private scan. The gap between the 12 week and my next scan at 20 just seems so long without any contact at all so I needed to put my mind at ease.
I might get them to explain my placenta position in detail and see if they can guess if I'm more likely to feel movement soon or later.

I definitely have a little bump! I'm only 5"1 so there is less space for the baby to go other than out so it is looking pretty pronounced this week. If I wanted to hide I still could but I have been living in fitted dresses as trousers are so uncomfortable now and it is now in the stage where it looks like a baby rather than a burrito baby which is nice. Hows yours coming along? x

AliceinBunniland · 05/02/2021 08:51

@TiredAlreadyOhDear @luxxlisbon I am 18+2 and I think I might have felt movements for the past two weeks or so but it's not every day and it's not even definitely movement. I did have a scan on Monday and everything looked okay but I am hoping more regular / definite movement might give me some reassurance.

I think I started feeling movement with my first baby at around this stage (but it's difficult to remember) so I feel like I should have felt movement earlier this time but our babies are still small and so the movements are not strong and we could have just not noticed them.

Also depending on where the placenta is we might feel more or less movement.

Hope everyone is okay 💗

Luckyelephant1 · 05/02/2021 10:27

@TiredAlreadyOhDear @luxxlisbon I'm 17+4 and haven't felt any movements either. I keep trying to stay very still and see if anything happens but I feel like my heart just ends up beating very fast and hiding anything! I'm also still quite bloated and constipated so not sure if that would mask any potential first flutters of movement.

Bump wise I'm petite and slim too but have always carried my weight on my belly/love handles so already had a slight pot belly, however the last week or so it's definitely becoming more rounded. I can't wait till its a taut defined bump! This waiting game between 12 and 20 weeks is sooooooo long!

PeanutButterFalcon · 05/02/2021 10:31

I’m 17+6 and been feeling little flutters I wasn’t sure about for the past week. Past day or so I think it’s definitely the baby now. It felt like being lightly tickled to me at the beginning.

I’ve got a bump too and have just ordered maternity clothes as I can’t get away with mine any longer. Was hoping to hide it until my 20 week scan but I don’t think I can.

Luckyelephant1 · 05/02/2021 11:55

Would they have told us or will it be in notes from 12 week scan where the placenta is positioned or is that mentioned at 20 week scan? I don't remember being told at 12 weeks and I didn't think to ask either.

AliceinBunniland · 05/02/2021 12:40

I don't think they would necessarily tell you so you would have to ask if you want to know.

WarrickDavisAsPlates · 05/02/2021 14:55

@THATbasicSNOWFLAKE I really haven't got a pram in mind yet, I've had a quick browse online but I'm really not willing to spend around £1000 for something I'll use for a year or less, I'll have a similar age gap as yours.

Ideally I'd like to spend £500 or less as this is my third and last baby.

@luckyelephant1 last time I was told I had an anterior placenta at the 20 week scan, with my first I was never told about the placenta, so maybe they don't tell you unless they have a reason to.

MrsMDD · 05/02/2021 15:45

Im 17+4 on my 3rd pregnancy and still not feeling even a flutter yet! Scan booked for tomorrow morning so hopefully everything is ok. I use h and m over the bump leggings and find them great
