@lc86 she's worried me now though as she said I need to be monitored as it's not normal to be throwing up with heartburn and because the pain is coming from under my boobs.
I'll let you know what's said x
Good luck! Hope all goes well. Keep us updated xx

MsBee13 · 10/11/2020 14:00
@danielasummerRe reduced movements, I called once, they told me to do the sugary drink and lie on my side trick before coming in, baby was fine. This morning I called again (after doing the lying down) and I was panicking. There’s a difference in “I’ll keep an eye on this” worried and “this is wrong” worried, I think you instinctively know the difference. Baby is all well but she’s fully engaged which is why she isn’t moving so much (well she’s moving but just more gently and not so swishy)

I’ve also heard that after 2-3 visits for RM that they will discuss induction
I was told the same by the doctor x

excitednerves · 10/11/2020 14:09

@EithneBlue my hospital is just as bad - 1 visit for 1 hour per week if I need to be kept in. It’s horrible. I have a 1 year old so half of me thinks a couple of days with just new baby would be nice for bonding, the other half thinks get out as quick as possible so I can have support from DH. It’s not a nice decision to think about.

Sheera1 · 10/11/2020 15:20

Ooh lots of posts. Lovely jubily.

@jellycat2020 that is awful from your work and you have been there ten yrs! They should be keeping in touch. I really find that as soon as you say you are pregnant it is like you are out of the loop as they immediately start planning and thinking if you not being there. It is not good. Especially bad with men. They just don't think.

My line manager was meant to do a risk assessment with me months ago and didn't ever bother his arse. Tbh I am amazed HR haven't raked him over hot coals for it, but he probably made it up and submitted it without asking me...

Sheera1 · 10/11/2020 15:24

That is dreadful on the reduced movements policy and comments. At my hospital they always say call in if any issues or worries, but when you call triage they tend to put you off going in unless you use specific phrases linked to pre-eclampsia they can't not take you in but they seem to begrudge it.

Sheera1 · 10/11/2020 15:25

@jwl45 congrats she is wonderful and good to here it all went well and hopefully home soon xx

LRHRN · 10/11/2020 15:57

Just an update ladies and I'm currently hooked up to monitors and the midwife is appalled that I haven't seen a consultant yet with my baby being transverse, they are scanning me today and I'm seeing the consultant to discuss options but the midwife thinks baby will be here sooner rather than later as they can't risk me going into labour (waters breaking) at home

phe694 · 10/11/2020 16:30

@LRHRN oh god bless you! i guess it's a good job you phoned in regards to it! fingers crossed everything is okay! 💗

peachypetite · 10/11/2020 16:32

@LRHRN hope you're okay. Sounds like you may start receiving better care, good luck!

Babyhope98 · 10/11/2020 17:05

Glad you are finally getting the right care! So frustrating that some of these midwifes are failing in their jobs and putting mothers and baby’s at risk 😡 x @LRHRN

Pinktruffle · 10/11/2020 17:10

Best of luck @LRHRN, I'm glad you're finally getting the care you need

LRHRN · 10/11/2020 17:35

Bloody Sod's law 😂 she's now fully engaged and snuggled into my pelvis so they don't think she will move again now. She's still abit oblique but perfectly safe to give birth to her normally which I'm relieved about.
She currently weights approximately 5lb 12oz and her leg measurements are off the scale.
Now it's just a waiting game but at least I can relax knowing I don't have to panic if my waters break

lc86 · 10/11/2020 18:09

@LRHRN fab news, bet you're glad you went in today now 😊

Eventful day here, had my growth scan and was booked in next week for consultant. However while I was there they said I could see consultant today. Baby has been measuring on 97th centile, growth scan suggests he's 6lb12oz which is more 50th centile. Which is good news of course. I've been booked in for caesarean 4th December, 2 days before his due date. Mainly because I don't want to end up being induced and because I had an emergency c section last time. If I go into labour spontaneously before then I will hopefully give birth naturally. All feeling very real now x

lc86 · 10/11/2020 18:09

They said baby is a typical welsh boy with short legs 🤣🤣

Kj1010 · 10/11/2020 18:20

Great news @LRHRN I'm hoping for the same out come that this little one as moved I'm popping in to midwife tomoz morning to pick up another matb1 form so i can defo send my forms in for maternity allowance so gonna see if she will have a quick feel and see if he has moved as where I'm seeing movements doesn't make sense to where they saying he is so fingers crossed she see me and has a feel for me

Snowwhite2020 · 10/11/2020 18:26

@Jwl45 What a gorgeous baby girl- congratulations! I hope you recover from the c section quickly and that in the meantime you are enjoying precious time with your beautiful girl.

@excitednerves @EithneBlue we are also in a region where my husband will be allowed to stay for 1-2 hours after birth and then can’t return, nor can anyone else visit me and the baby in hospital. Whilst I understand that there has to be visitor restrictions (totally fine with this) I think it is very hard not to have the father of the baby back in... This has really upset both of us and has thrown a bit of a dark shadow on the end of the pregnancy. :( you just don’t know how birth will go or how long you will be in and mothers need support and fathers deserve not to miss out on the first few days of their baby’s life. That’s how I feel about it anyway...

Dee96 · 10/11/2020 18:32

@LRHRN good to hear! The last thing anyone needs during the end push is any additional stresses now it's just the waiting game

Babyhope98 · 10/11/2020 18:45

Do any of you see stars when you sit down sometimes. My bp has always been good like 100/60 and I’ve had it before I’ve last had my bp done. It only last like 30 seconds and they go. Just wondering if anyone else gets this I think pre eclampsia you see lights rather than stars?

Pinktruffle · 10/11/2020 18:57

@Snowwhite2020 I completely agree with you. I think I'll be in hospital for a few days and feel awful that my husband will miss out on seeing the baby. The other option is that I risk my health by discharging myself early but then DH gets to see the baby. Both awful options really.

@Babyhope98 I was seeing lights and starts yesterday (whilst having a mammoth nosebleed). I had been to see the midwife earlier in the day who checked my BP, urine etc and said everything was fine so thinking may just be one of those things sometimes? If you are worried, have a chat with your midwife if you can.

excitednerves · 10/11/2020 19:01

@LRHRN great news! So glad she’s not transverse anymore, must be such a relief for you.

I’m fully engaged too so we can wait it out together. X

LRHRN · 10/11/2020 19:03

Thanks lovely ladies, it's such a relief.
@excitednerves yep it's just waiting now xx

excitednerves · 10/11/2020 19:05

@Snowwhite2020 I totally agree. It’s the mental health and support aspect of it that is so difficult. I struggled with anxiety after my first and my husband was a huge support, you just don’t know how you’re going to feel after, or if you need a c-section etc.

I know my husband would have a covid swab every day if that’s what they needed to do to let him in, plus wearing a mask etc. It’s hard on the dads too.

Snowwhite2020 · 10/11/2020 19:18

Totally agree @pinktruffle it does put us as mums in an awful position. There isn’t a good option for us either way...

@excitednerves totally agree re: mental health. The NHS and any other organisations to support mothers in pregnancy and beyond emphasise the importance of good support and also the role of partners in that process so it just seems to go against everything we’ve been told...

What areas of the UK are you guys in? We’re in Lothian in Scotland, which is the only health board in Scotland to have this policy re: birth partners post birth as far as I can tell... we also have pretty low rates of the virus compared to other areas so not really sure what the decision has been based on.

Sheera1 · 10/11/2020 20:02

@Snowwhite2020 I will be RAH in Paisley which comes under Glasgow and Clyde nhs and we are tier 3 and the father gets two one hour visiting slots a day in the ward post birth. Seems overkill they can't be in at all. I have a section on Monday and am worried the guidelines change. I was in for a week with my first and dreading that and wasting the short paternity leave he gets and him missing out and me on my own. 2 one hours slots is not a lot but something at least!

@lrhrn great news. When is your due date?

Sheera1 · 10/11/2020 20:04

@babyhope98
I was in to be checked a few weeks ago as very lightheaded and visual disturbances. He asked he about like a dark veil coming over my eyes for pre-eclampsia (though that sounds more like the start of a faint to me)
