@kkr168 this is super useful! Thank you! My next appointment is next week Friday where they are going to go through my birth options so definitely a perfect time to ask about induction policies. Though, the words balloon induction sound scary 😬

@jalu47 glad everything is going ok with the GD diet, it's definitely interesting to see what spikes the readings! Ah amazing on the growth scan next week, I think it'll definitely help to make an informed decision of what you want to do (and who you want to tell and how much), mine is next week Thursday as well for 36 weeks. I'm like you and currently leaning on induction before considering a c-section. Though at the moment I haven't told anyone except one friend and husband about the blood sugar monitoring as I haven't had my "assessment" meeting with the hospital yet.

I'm 35 weeks tomorrow, put on 10lbs so far (my BMI was in the low 20s), I had some holiday and booze weight still, so I think lack of drinking and eating stinky cheese meant I lost some weight as well.

I think we may go with the flow with announcing any inductions and baby arrivals, just whatever feels right and least stressful at the time.

@LRHRN best of luck for Wednesday!

and I hate to be that person but I've not have one episode of indigestion or heartburn during my entire pregnancy - however I've not been able to breathe properly for 8 months so i guess it all gets us differently! I seriously can't remember what it feels like to breathe normally...

peachypetite · 09/11/2020 18:10

I’ve had quite bad heartburn too, wonder if baby will indeed have lots of hair?!

Report
Dee96 · 09/11/2020 18:11

@LRHRN yeah to be honest I called them very begrudgingly as I resented the fact I had to chase them yet again, but I'm glad I pushed it because I've finally got the result I wanted and no one should get away with the care I've received. Problem is I'm the type of person to come across as if everything is okay even if inside I'm angry, I'm worried if I come across too assertive i will come across rude. But sometimes you just have to put your foot down. Now hopefully that is all up until my induction date I just cant wait to be done with it all.

@Sheera1 oh we could very easily be having our babies at the same time! And even weirder so your actual due date is my birthday Grin I hope everything goes smooth for you on Monday less than a week to go now

I haven’t weighed myself since 24 weeks my scales broke 😅 i think it’s around the 2 stone plus mark I’ve enjoyed lots of food that’s for sure should of put on more considering how much I’ve been putting away!!

@LRHRN haha I think I defiantly have a werewolf too x

Thank you al for your replies to reassure me! I wouldn't say I look like I've put on weight anywhere and do have a huuuuuuge bump to the point people keep laughing saying I will topple over soon. I'm worried she's going to come out this tiny thing and it'll take me years to shift all this weight I have put on! I have really dropped in exercise though which may be contributing to the weight gain... I went from walking my dogs for 2 hours a day up some very hilly fields and a very active job where I was on my feet all day to practically nothing due to my trapped nerve in my back😕

I don't mind carrying a little bit of extra weight I'm just shocked by how much it actually is and still want to be as healthy as possible for the baby!!

My mum doesn't understand why I don't want to try natural birth, I had emergency section last time. But she had 3 caesarean, all for medical reasons so I don't feel she can have an opinion really. If I go into labour before my section date then I'm going to try natural, but if it comes to section date then that's what it will be x

Finally set the next to me crib up today & I've had the pushchair out, practising putting it up & down, car seats in the car too.
I'm planning to finish packing my hospital bag tomorrow, then were all set for baby's arrival.

@ic86 I've had csection emergency and 2 naturals and honestly would prefer this one to be a natural birth but is looking like cud be a csection I just feel recovery is much quicker obvs natural hoping this one changes position but also looking at it as it is what it is aslong as he arrives safe that's all that matters

Report
lc86 · 09/11/2020 22:31

@Kj1010 I had natural on my first and honestly if they could guarantee it would go like that I'd love it, it's just the unknown isn't it, and I think because of the emergency on my second being down to her heart rate dropping I'm scared of something similar happening.. a crystal ball would be lovely right now 🙊

Just a fun one to put out there...so the midwife consultant I spoke to on friday suggested sex as the best form of natural induction much to my dp's luck Grin was wondering what others thought about it and if it's actually worked for any of those second times mums with experience behind you

kkr168 · 09/11/2020 23:17

@jwl45 congratulations, what a gorgeous baby & I love the name, hope your recovering ok x

@Dee96 I can't say I tried anything to help bring on labour with my 1st, I was terrified & would have done anything to keep him in. This time I've got a birthing ball, pineapple, spicy meals, just need to start being Pro active.

Report
Pinktruffle · 10/11/2020 00:54

@Ic86 I was discussing this with DH yesterday and came to the same conclusion. If labour starts naturally, I will give it a go, but if I reach the section date and nothing has happened then section it is. I'm leaving it in Gods hands as to what will be, will be.

@Jwl45 Congratulations on the birth of your little girl

Thank you ladies. 😊 Recovery so far going well... Got the feeling back in my legs although catheter still in for tonight. Saves the toilet walks....
Elsi is being ever so good....fed at 1... And sound asleep... Stirring only when big noise .
Me? Well as a rubbish sleeper anyway, far too much noise for me! They moved me from high dependency at 12am.... To a room where the TV was blasting... 🤦🏼‍♀️ TV is now off. 🤣 However, they have just come in to do my obs 🤦🏼‍♀️🤣 . I shouldn't complain. The care is fab mind I have to say.
Can't wait to go home tomorrow!!! 😊

Place making on this thread, likely the last one I'll be on without my baby being here! Can't quite believe we have come this far. What a year to say the least.

@Jwl45 huge congratulations, so glad you and baby are doing well💖
