@lc86 - We've really struggled with boy's names: there are only a couple that we both like! Maybe just go in with a list of names that you both don't hate and see what works?

lc86 · 25/11/2020 13:47

@EithneBlue hopefully he will come out with a name badge 🙊 but yes we have a few and just hoping he looks like one of them lol

excitednerves · 25/11/2020 14:26

@viixie me with the BH. Woke up at 3am thinking I was having full on contractions.... lasted about 40 minutes. I could have cried! Fingers crossed it means things are getting closer though.

@Asianchick6693 sounds like your uterus going back to it’s normal size - another thing I was unaware of with my first. Tell your midwife, take paracetamol and keep an eye for any big clots etc. Sounds normal though. Do talk to your midwife if you need a review of your labour or any mental health support.

@lc86 I like Aston! I’ve currently totally changed my mind on our girls name now though so we are back to a list of 5 that we both like. At least I have something to do while I wait for her arrival

kkr168 · 25/11/2020 14:54

Just got an absolute bargain in Sainsbury's, pampers were all reduced to 50p a pack. Stocked up on size 1/2 & got some 5/6 for my niece.

Oh my god @kkr168 that's amazing!

MrsSmith2020 · 25/11/2020 15:19

Is anyone else having aching sore boobs? My left boob is like a brick and so so sore.

Saw midwife yesterday - baby's growth is an issue and the heartbeat was too high so I'm off for a scan early tomorrow. So so worried and feel like crying

Babyhope98 · 25/11/2020 15:27

My boobs have felt sorer recently think they’re just getting ready. Try not to worry, when are you due? You can’t be far off @MrsSmith2020

I'm due on 16/12 so it feels like a millennium away.

It's aching loads, constantly for 24 hours now. I feel like chopping it off 😂

Babyhope98 · 25/11/2020 15:36

So that makes you 37 weeks today so your full term so if you need to be induced at this stage baby is less likely to need any extra care so try not to worry. If they were really concerned they would have got you in sooner. Is the measurement from the tape with regards to growth as these aren’t always accurate I was measuring under on tape but she is big on scan x @MrsSmith2020

Asianchick6693 · 25/11/2020 16:04

Girls thank you for your reassurance no one really talks about the after birth part! I've been teary all day but she visited me today and she was very lovely and reassuring. I've managed to get some rest and sleep off most of my worries. I feel a little better now thank you 💕

Hope you get through these first few days and remember you're doing an amazing job of keeping an entire human (that you grew and birthed) alive- it's amazing and you're doing the best you can.

X

PipTed · 25/11/2020 17:12

So yesterday I felt like things were progressing, got the freya app going and at one point it said I was in and out of established labour. Today - nothing - just more watery discharge.

My midwife has me booked in for a sweep tomorrow (I’ll be 40 weeks exactly) I don’t think I’m gonna go for it - but can I just ask her to have a look at what’s going on down there?

Babyevictionimminent · 25/11/2020 17:39

@PipTed that sounds frustrating! I’m sure your midwife can just tell you what your cervix is up to without doing a stretch and sweep. I had another tease last night but the contractions fizzled out again. I’m trying so hard not to get despondent, but I’m hating the indecision of my body. Either labour or don’t!

Babyhope98 · 25/11/2020 17:43

I keep getting teased too it’s really annoying me wish I was like the other ladies who went straight into contractions that didn’t stop rather than having these that don’t turn into anything I keep getting excited 😩 @Babyevictionimminent

PipTed · 25/11/2020 17:45

@Babyevictionimminent sounds similar to me. This bit really is the hardest part! I know what you mean about fighting despondence - it’s an emotional roller coaster.

We can get through this!!!

PipTed · 25/11/2020 17:47

Yes I think I’ll just ask for a VE tomorrow and swerve the sweep for a few days

Babyevictionimminent · 25/11/2020 17:57

@Babyhope98 is this your first? With my first I was straight into labour so I’m finding this really strange. You’d have thought your body would do the same thing as before. I’m also finding it really annoying having people tell me when I’m going to have him, as if they have some crystal ball, but I know that’s just hormones making me angry!

PipTed · 25/11/2020 18:01

OMG This! My friend said she thinks I still have 6 days left, today! Hell no!!!

Babyevictionimminent · 25/11/2020 18:05

@PipTed yes!!! What an unhelpful thing to say! Unless someone is inside my body and having a chat with my uterus about its plans - I don’t want to hear your theories! So demoralising and also just nonsense

Babyhope98 · 25/11/2020 19:05

This is my first so nothing to compare it too! Yeah you would have thought your body behaves the same each time.. I knew being my first I’m more likely to go overdue but I didn’t realise I was going to have all these false starts. I have been asked everyday if there’s any more signs, that was my mistake for saying I was getting pains so they thought I was going to go into labour but that was over a week ago now and I’ve had no such luck @Babyevictionimminent hopefully as it’s your second you won’t be waiting too long!

peachypetite · 26/11/2020 01:30

Good luck to you ladies!! I have never had to use Amazon prime before but it's been the best investment since coming home. I was not able to hand express my breast milk, and really needed to since baby still hasn't been able to latch, I can feel myself getting really engorged and uncomfortable, so ordered a Haakaa and it's been great! Hoping baby will be able to get my milk from a bottle.

PipTed · 26/11/2020 04:41

@peachypetite if you don’t mind me asking, how much milk are you able to get with the haaka? Does it just flow once successfully attached? I have one, but wasn’t sure how effective they would be?

danielasummer · 26/11/2020 05:44

First day of mat leave and I'm up and about around the house at 5am..... whyyy 😫😴
