@sam921 yes it did I'm 25 weeks tomorrow, I didn't believe the line untill I had an early scan. Let us know how you get on x

ew1990 · 26/11/2020 10:20

I'd test again on Sunday/Monday. I know the wait is awful and I said I wasn't going to do another test after I got a bfp but honestly I had a drawer full of them I just couldn't help myself

sam921 · 26/11/2020 10:48

@ew1990 congratulations 🙂 so excited for you waiting till Monday is going absolutely kill me I have to keep myself busy I mean even AF may arrive by I suppose arghhh so anxious thanks for the hope X

ew1990 · 26/11/2020 11:02

@sam192 I had what I thought was my period starting, must have been implantation bleed I've really got my fingers crossed for you xxx

RosieJess91 · 26/11/2020 11:08

@pugprincess maybe you're right. My dad always pays for the parts for my car because he gets them cheaper or sometimes for free, and I usually pay him back eventually or buy him a bottle to say thanks.
OH said it was because I told him I was fine with handling my car, said I'd lies to him. All I did was message my dad to remind him I needed a new tyre, and he rang me while I was having my little breakdown.
Either way, I stayed up, watched I'm A Celeb and by the time I went to bed, he was already asleep, and already gone by the time I woke up. So we'll see how he is when he gets home... men, eh?

SkyBlue20 · 26/11/2020 13:25

Hi all! Got so much to catch up on 🙈

@DanceM1 what a lovely 4D scan! I didn’t think I was bothered about getting one but I think I’d quite like to now (DH isn’t sure), I’m just dying to get an idea of what she looks like.

@PugPrincess What lovely bits from Aldi – will have to keep an eye out next time I go in. DH has been doing the shopping to keep me away from Covid risk and probably hasn’t even looked at the baby aisle 🙄

@ew1990 My skin has gone terrible again, too, so spotty! That old wives’ tale of girls stealing your beauty is definitely true for me 😂

@RosieJess91 Yep, my bump seems to have just gone huge overnight! My app yesterday told me that my uterus is now the size of a football so that might explain it 😳 Sorry to hear your emotions are all over the place – I think we’ve all been there and pregnancy is a good excuse. Bloody hormones! I cried at the end of Bake Off the other night 🤷🏻‍♀‍

@Threnody Congrats on your scan! Yay to moving forward a few days and what a lovely pic 🥰

@Dipsy77 Glad the growth scan went well, sounds like they’re good sizes!

@MrsK21 Congratulations on your scan! Another lovely pic 🥰

@Workingmama1 TERRIFYING that it’s three months until the first baby is due – that will go so quickly with Xmas in the middle.

@Starfish762 Yay, congrats on your scan, too! So exciting that you’ve moved forward, too and what a lovely pic! 💕

I ordered two huge boxes of Pura wipes the other day as it’s 25% off in the Black Friday sales, in case anyone is in the market for any. They’re biodegradable and apparently flushable (they react the same way toilet tissue does), so sounded like a good option. We really try to do what we can for the environment in so many ways of life but we just cannot come round to reusable nappies – have ordered some Kit + Kin ones for the first few weeks and then we’ll see how we get on I think as I would like to do reusable but think it might just be a bit TOO much to deal with at first.

I saw someone I follow on Instagram post about this yoga course she’s been doing, which is pregnancy yoga for people who have experienced loss or infertility so have signed up for the Jan course, in case anyone is interested: www.catstrawbridge.com/yogajan

Baby has had a quiet couple of days but have received my Kicks Count bracelet now and am finding it invaluable, would highly recommend.

Hope everyone is doing ok and not too many of us have been plunged back in to tier three after today's announcement! xx

Sakura54 · 26/11/2020 14:53

@Starfish762 @MrsK21 Lovely scans! So much good news on this thread.

@Workingmama1 Yes, 3 months more. Time is going quickly I find. It doesn’t feel like it was even that long ago, most of us had our MMCs and were on that depressing thread. I think I’ll be the first one to pop, given my history and CS plan, but I’ll try to stay on the thread as I’d deffo want to know how everyone is getting on.

The due dates are quite close together aren’t they, apart from the cluster at the end. Do you know what your plan is yet regarding giving birth to the twins? They usually have to come out earlier isn’t it? @Dipsy77

Been in pain for the last couple of hours with a dodgy tummy, not sure what caused it as I eat anything and everything and spicy stuff all the time anyway, but maybe too much cream in my hot chocolate, that’s been open a bit too long. Oh well, as long as I don’t get Braxton Hicks again like last time and keep making an effort to drink more liquids, I’m not going to worry about baby for now.

@Sakura54 you'll definitely be before me, I've been late both times with my others 😂

Hope you feel better soon xx

@Sakura54 yea I want a cesarean which they say will be at 37 weeks which puts me at

Pugprincess · 26/11/2020 19:14

@SkyBlue20 tier 3 here 😩 gutted as my area was tier 1 before lockdown but I think we have been banded in with the city but I will double check somehow lol?

I felt some twitchy type I think kicks near my belly button early and got husband to feel and he felt 😊 it’s the second time he’s felt as before was weeks ago but it was going mad in my lower abdomen. Lovely to include him.

Omgosh have any of your partners been showing sympathy symptoms? My DH has piled on weight (he was a bit too thin though so I prefer it), he’s peeing more sometimes too 😅 and getting forgetful. He literally drove off with the front door open this morning 😦 luckily I was around 🤦🏼‍♀️ I’m like come on now you are just stealing my thunder 😅😅😅

Smilingdonkey · 26/11/2020 22:04

Hi all!
Love to see all the positive scans 🥰

Can someone add my due date (7th March Girl) to the list ... I can't get it to copy for some reason 🤷

Re. Cloth nappies for those that asked - for my DD we started at about 10 weeks I think as it felt like just too much to cope with as a first timer! Initially I just bought a couple of cheap pocket nappies and just eased into it slowly. Then I bought a load of second hand ones and worked out what was good for us. Eventually we settled on the close pop-ins as the childminder could also use them easily. She actually said that it made no difference to her and was the same as putting on a disposable which it is really! I would advice going on The Nappy Lady website and reading all their info and doing their questionnaire and seeing what kind of nappy suits you (there are so so many and it can be quite confusing initially - but you do get the hang of it really quickly!) We used a much bulkier nappy for night times and never had a leak! And sometimes we used disposables in emergencies or when on holiday etc.

Plus side:

  • Ultimate smugness at environmental benefits !
  • Very cute big bottom on baby
  • Cheaper in the long run (especially if you use them for a 2nd baby or sell them on)
  • excellent second hand market for them
  • you can have a range of different and use them for different situations
  • no stinking gross bin of disposable nappies 🤢
  • no poo explosions! They contain so much better!
  • potty training is a doddle
  • no nasty chemicals next to bottoms

Down side:

  • costly initially
  • more washing (although easy once you are in the swing of it)
  • certain clothes just won't fit over them! Leggings are out really!
  • you change more often to avoid leaks (every 3-4 hours once newborn stage is over - except at night when we never needed to change)
  • more to carry about

Hopefully that's helpful! I tried to be honest - there are lots of people on the web who pretend there are no downsides! My feeling is that every cloth nappy used is one less in landfill - so even if you do it part time that's good 😊

Xxxx

Threnody · 27/11/2020 14:07

Got my screening results back as low risk! Such a relief, and a bit of a surprise given my age. I'm still thinking of getting the Harmony test, but can't quite decide. It's tempting to find out if it is a boy or a girl!

Starfish762 · 27/11/2020 15:34

@Threnody ah that’s good, one less thing to worry about? How old are you if you don’t mind me asking? I’m 34 & DH is 39. Hopefully we’ll get ours soon.

Threnody · 27/11/2020 15:42

@Starfish762 yes, exactly! I'm 41, so based on just age my risk was 1 in 80. Hope you get your results soon, mine came back faster than I expected - it's usually been a couple of weeks in the past.

Salome831 · 27/11/2020 15:42

Hi,
I miscarried late November (28th) and was told it would take around 4-6 weeks for my period to return. 2 days ago i had a cramp in my tummy as though i was going to start my period and it never came. My boob a feeling heavier so i took a test yesterday and low and behold i got a positive test!

I was a bit dubious of this result so rang my doctor who was also a little sceptical. However, i had blood test after my miscarriage on 4th November and was told my HGC level was down to 5. i took a clear blue digital test and it says 2-3 weeks pregnant!

Ive been told by my doctor to wait week and take another test to make sure its nothing spilling over from my miscarriage but i given the clear blue result i cant help but get excited.

Has anyone had anything like this so soon after a miscarriage?

notalwaysalondoner · 27/11/2020 16:47

Hi all, I’m keeping well and am 5+4. I’ve booked a scan for next Sunday as I’m worried about another anembryonic pregnancy. I’ll be much more positive once I’ve seen something on a scan - last time it was a big empty nothingness :(
I don’t really have any symptoms though except maybe a bit of fatigue. Last time I remember my boobs hurting loads but not sure how early that started.

notalwaysalondoner · 27/11/2020 16:49

@Salome831 do you mean 28th October? It all depends how far along you were - if just 4 or 5 weeks then yes, I expect it might be a new pregnancy, but I had surgical management for missed miscarriage at 10 weeks and it took me a full 3 weeks to get a negative test and 8 weeks for a period.

Workingmama1 · 27/11/2020 18:09

@Starfish762 my hematoma was 3x3x1 so a similar stage. I did bleed again at 14+4 but not since. While its still terrifying bleeding and I did freak out it was also good to know a probably cause.

Baby boy has been quiet this afternoon, I know he's probably just in a different position but it still makes me nervous!

I'm fuming with my husband, he's bought a marine fish tank off ebay, him and the guy have been taking it apart and setting it up all day, I walked in to see how they were doing and they were stood right next to each other without masks! He really should know better.

Also feeling a bit down that our holiday has been cancelled as the area will be in tier three. We can reschedule but I think January/February cases will be higher than now after Christmas and I'll be in the third trimester so will want to self isolate as much as possible. Might go next year with a baby in tow! If I wasn't pregnant I think we might have booked a last minute holiday abroad but I don't feel comfortable on a plane or going abroad pregnant right now...

Salome831 · 27/11/2020 18:13

@notalwaysalondoner Thanks for your reply and I’m sorry for your loss.

Yes, I meant October sorry! I was only 4 weeks along so my hcg levels dropped quickly and I can’t imagine they could still be at a level to read 2-3 weeks at this point so hopefully it is a new pregnancy. I just need to try not to try not to stress about this one. 🙏

Starfish762 · 27/11/2020 18:33

@Workingmama1 thank you for replying. Did they write about yours on your scan notes? Literally nothing on mine! 😡 DH said that’s a good thing, but 4cm is certainly not small. I don’t mean any disrespect but the sonographer wasn’t great to be honest, she spoke quiet as a mouse & mumbled, DH didn’t hear a word & I could just about understand. After we left I was kicking myself for not just saying sorry could you please speak a bit louder, typical Brit mentality! 🙈 We were thinking about telling DD tomorrow/Sun but google has terrified me (silly googling I know, but so many scary stories about hematomas in pregnancy).

It sucks about the holiday situation, a year of lovely plans & last holidays etc all scuppered ☹️ I’d be fuming with DH too, it’s just sensible isn’t it especially when pregnant. One removals firm we had round to quote turned up & casually said ‘do you want me to wear a mask or not’ - I obv said yes but it annoyed me he even asked & made me think he obv didn’t wear it every where. Fair to say we gave the business to a different firm!

@notalwaysalondoner I’m 13+5 & still waiting for my symptoms 😂 Got the exhaustion obv but that didn’t start till about 9w. No sore boobs & even now they aren’t bigger, try not to panic. Hope the time goes quick to your scan, got everything crossed for you.

@Threnody wow 1 in 80 just based on age is crazy! Good news anyway one less thing to worry about 🙂

Starfish762 · 27/11/2020 19:10

Just checked my EPU notes & they say it was 3x1x1cm, so if the sonographer the other day was correct it’s grown! I’ve just text my MW for advice & to ask why the sonographer this week hasn’t even made a note of it. Surely women with these should get extra scans to keep an eye?! Although suppose there’s nothing they can do regardless ☹️ Google tells me you can go on progesterone to help, but obv not sure how reliable that is!

Sakura54 · 27/11/2020 19:30

@Dipsy77 That’s good, I guess you and I may be the first two. As much as I want baby to cook for long, I’m at a slight higher risk of premature labour, so I’m worried I won’t make it to my ELCS date and end up with another EMCS, but know they won’t give it as early as 37w for me. I mean DS was born a bit before that and apart from being titchy with slight jaundice, he didn’t have any issues but I’ll just have to wait and see what happens this time.

@Smilingdonkey That’s interesting to know. I’ve dealt with countless nappy leaks, it’s crazy. I’m being sent a pocket one and an all in one to trial so let’s see. Come to think of it, it’ll probably fit my DS right? (3y 4m). He’s been toilet trained for nearly a year now but still wears nappies at night (so I still have the ‘stinking gross bins’ lol) so might try it on him.

Fab news, what a relief for you. It’s bad enough waiting for those results even without the age worry. @Threnody

OP posts:
Smilingdonkey · 27/11/2020 20:28

@sakura54 it might well still fit him at 3. You might find they are not absorbent enough for night time depending on how much he wees. My DD is dry at night now but she always needed a much more substantial nappy with a booster for night ... If you want a good booster to put inside I would recommend a hemp one and a fleece liner to wick away liquid and help keep his botty dry! But if he just wees a little bit they may be fine. I think that's the thing about cloth - it just depends on your kid, their bladder and their body shape! Hope it works out for you! Xxxxx
