@DanceM1 what a beautiful pic 💕💕

notalwaysalondoner · 22/11/2020 17:24

That’s a beautiful picture @DanceM1! I’d be so excited! Thanks for your advice, it’s weird as with my second pregnancy I didn’t let myself get excited as I’d been spotting the whole time and so when it ended a week after the first BFP I was upset but not too badly. But this time I just have a good feeling and am letting myself imagine things already even though I’m only 5 weeks. I was hoping to get a very early scan but annoyingly the local places don’t seem to be open on weekends and my DH can’t come otherwise. I might just have to go anyway for reassurance as the thought of having another anembryonic pregnancy and thinking everything is fine like I did the first time is too much - I’d rather find out as soon as possible. Although I’m not sure what the chances of having multiple anembryonic pregnancies are, doubt it’s common. But I saw a bbc news video the other day of a lady who had 8 miscarriages in a row including some really late ones so then I think I’m stupid to get my hopes up so early.

Pugprincess · 22/11/2020 18:10

@DanceM1 that’s so lovely! We want a 4d scan too! Your having a surprise like me aren’t you? Do you have any gut feelings on gender? Even more so after the 4d scan? X

Pugprincess · 22/11/2020 18:12

I was naughty today and bought some baby bits I saw in Aldi as I knew they won’t be there for long. Want to do a cloud theme nursery so found a mobile/comforter and pram toy. Will attach pic xx

@sakura54 I hope your son is better today?

@dancem1 so glad you had a lovely scan 🥰

@skyblue20 cloth nappies are more work but I did find they contained poo soooooo much better and my DD potty trained very early which apparently is a side effect of using them 👍 But I'm not going to deny there is obviously a lot more washing! It's not at all gross though - you'd be surprised how disgusting disposables can smell 🤢 Many local boroughs do a free trial pack so might be worth trying seeing as it's free!

One thing that I would recommend everyone is the reusable cheeky wipes - they are so so so much better than wet wipes (especially for poo - more grip!) and it's saves so much money (as well as being good for the environment obvs! 🤣) I don't think I've bought more than 6-7 packed of wet wipes in the last two years! Although Boots now do a pack of biodegradable ones for 75p which is amazing as the other brands are like £2.99 a packet!

Anyway I won't preach cloth as that's annoying - but if anyone does fancy trying it and wants some practical and honest tips (the cloth nappy world is full of sanctimonious women with too much money and time on their hands and can be rather intimidating!) Just drop me a line 😊 I promise it's easier than it sounds and personally I found it less gross! 🤣

@pugprincess IKEA do an lovely cloud wall lamp we have by DD's cot - although don't do what we did and forget that one day the baby will be able to reach it and turn it on itself 😂

JoJo58995 · 22/11/2020 19:30

@Smilingdonkey we're planning to use reusable nappies 😊 its early days for me to be planning as I'm only 17 weeks but we definitely would like to give them a go if we can. One of my friends used them and said she found disposables more absorbent overnight but she loves the reusable for the day. Do you use them all the time? Xx

Poppy10121 · 22/11/2020 20:41

@Smilingdonkey I’m definitely wanting to use reuseable nappies and wipes, I already use reuseable period products because I was horrified by the landfill waste one person can generate - and I know it’ll be 1000 times worse with nappies! Any particular brands you recommend to go for or steer clear of?

Pugprincess · 22/11/2020 20:46

Haha 😂 thank you @Smilingdonkey xx

Workingmama1 · 22/11/2020 20:48

Just catching up, sorry if I've missed anyones update!

@DanceM1 what an amazing pic, you can see their face so clearly, gorgeous

@Pugprincess glad your getting some talking therapy too, hopefully that will help. I think pregnancy regnamcy hormones can make the best of us struggle, but combine that with a previous loss and history of anxiety then its a potent mixture. Most importantly you are aware of it and taking positive steps.

@SkyBlue20 glad all was ok yesterday and that the midwives were nice to you. When I rang up at 24 weeks with my daighter they didn't want me to come in but told me to contact my community midwife (when I only have the health centres number) who didn't see me until the next day!

I'm getting a fair bit of movement everyday now, its weird as this point last time I hadn't felt anything. @pugprincess some of my first movements were that heavy churning feeling, I was expecting kicks but it was definitely movement!

@Sakura54 I hope your son is doing ok

@notalwaysalondoner as others have said mini milestones are great to help giving small targets to aim for. Honestly, I'm 20 weeks now and notnaure I've really let myself get excited, but I have let myself get on with some of the practicalities now I've had my anomaly scan, we've picked the nursery's wallpaper and I've ordered a maternity coat (an expensive one for all weather baby wearing so wasn't doing that too early!).

DanceM1 · 22/11/2020 20:48

Thank you ladies, it was a really lovely scan 🥰

@Pugprincess yes we are having a surprise too! Its weird.. i always thought I'd have boys but when I first did the test I instantly thought "im going to have a girl" and recently I've been picturing a little girl a lot. Buttt at the scan I started to think maybe its a boy! So basically I have no idea 🤣🤣 Do you have any idea at all about yours?

@notalwaysalondoner thats great that you're feeling positive. I know it sounds daft after what I said but I had a really good feeling about this pregnancy as soon as I tested. However, i consciously tried to push that out because I didnt want to get my hopes up. Lets just hope its good news for us both this time and our little rainbow babies 🌈 I'm really surprised you can't find a weekend scan BTW! That seems really unusual!

@Smilingdonkey thats really interesting to hear about the cloth nappies. Its obviously something I know nothing about but I will definitely look into it!

Workingmama1 · 22/11/2020 20:50

Oops sorry extra typos in that one! Was reading it back to check for them when my phone went mad and stopped responding and just posted it!

Pugprincess · 22/11/2020 21:01

Yes you are right @Workingmama1 it’s definitely a mixture of all those things I think. X

@DanceM1 I was looking at your scan pic and trying to imagine if it’s a girl or a boy but it’s a lot harder to tell than you think isn’t it lol. My strong gut feeling is a boy and I’d actually be astonished if it was a girl and would be like really show me 😂 DH family is 4 boys 1 girl and the girl came last! But I suppose it really can still be 50/50. X

ew1990 · 22/11/2020 21:56

Wow I've got a few days of catching up to do so sorry if i tag the wrong person.

@threnody so so sorry about your gran 💗💗

@skyblue glad you got checked and everything was ok.

@workingmama @lu93 congratulations on the successful 20 week scans!

@dancme1 ahh what a lovely picture. He/she is beautiful. How many weeks are you? That's a really clear picture.

Welcome to the new comers. Wishing you a very happy and healthy pregnancy,

I'm still waiting on this so called glow. My skin is terrible. And I'm so tired all the time. Like exhaustion. Already on iron and b12 tablets so not sure what else to do? I struggled so much in work today and in again tomorrow. I'm seriously thinking about asking doctor for a sick note just to get a bit of rest but feel a bit cheeky. Oh and to top it off I've got painful piles 😣😣 lovely I know.

Colleague at work today felt loads of kicks. They are so strong now some of them really hurt, not complaining I love it!

Hope everyone has enjoyed there weekend 💗

Threnody · 23/11/2020 08:56

Thanks for all the kind words ladies.

Lovely pic @DanceM1!

On cloth nappies, we did it with my first with those Terry ones you fold yourself - do not recommend! So fiddly, and time consuming. Cheeky wipes are good, and usually have an offer on.

Just having some breakfast and then off for the scan at 10 past 10. Feeling so nervous, managed to forget my daughter's coat when we took her to nursery!

Starfish762 · 23/11/2020 09:17

@Threnody good luck! Xx

RosieJess91 · 23/11/2020 11:03

Hope your scan went well @Threnody!

Does anyone else feel like they've grown overnight? I feel super bumpy today! And I also feel like my boobs are super heavy, hope that doesn't mean milk will come in early. Those breast pads were uncomfortable last time! 🤦🏼‍♀️

Bumped into my neighbour as I was coming back from taking my son to school and she came running out with these beautiful cardigans she'd been knitting for me. She's knitting a blanket and a smaller blue cardigan for when he's really small. She's so lovely!

Threnody · 23/11/2020 12:03

Scan was fine! Baby moving around and we got to hear the heartbeat. Everything looked good, and they've dated me at 11+6, which is a bit further on than I thought, so due date is 8th June now. So happy and relieved! Just got to wait for the blood tests, NT was fine.

Starfish762 · 23/11/2020 12:14

@Threnody yey! So pleased for you xxx

MrsK21 · 23/11/2020 12:21

@Threnody amazing news on your scan! So pleased for you! Until I have my due date confirmed - we are due date buddies now!
Lovely clear photo as well xxx

DanceM1 · 23/11/2020 13:00

@Pugprincess haha.. its so hard to tell isn't it..well impossible really!

@ew1990 25 weeks. Honestly, the place we go to isnt a chain but if you were all local to me I'd be encouraging you all to go there. They're so so good and really understanding of my anxiety after the MMC... every time I leave the room to empty my bladder she checks with my husband how I'm getting on etc.. they're lovely!

@RosieJess91 I've had a few days like that where I think my bump really has just grown overnight! The last 2 weeks I feel like ive grown massively but think that's quite normal at this stage.

@Threnody Congratulations on a successful scan! Thats a big milestone for you!

Poppy10121 · 23/11/2020 13:37

@Threnody congratulations, great news! x

JoJo58995 · 23/11/2020 15:46

@Threnody congratulations 😊😊

Sakura54 · 23/11/2020 16:03

@Threnody yay, amazing news!

@Pugprincess You deffo have to show us your cloud themed nursery. Sounds cute.

Absolutely, I’m the only one upset. He went back to normal quickly, albeit with his front teeth gone, which is sad for him and as his mum, it hurts my heart to see but just have to get over it. Spilt milk and all right?

@Starfish762 Surprisingly he hasn’t had many accidents despite being fearless; constantly climbing, jumping off things, doing flips. I mean I do watch him like a hawk, but this is the first time he’s actually been injured. I look at how his cousins were at this age and they were calm and quiet. He’s full on hence why I waited years to have another lol. I’m silently hoping it’s true what they say about girls being easier babies or just that this baby will be more chilled.

@Smilingdonkey He’s fine, thanks. I’ve never used cloth nappies before. Which type do you use? I didn’t get that nappy trial thing last time for some reason, but I’ll give it a try this time along with disposables still (they want my ID and proof of due date but I don’t have what they require so sent them a scan pic instead lol). I do care about the environment, but can’t be dealing with the extra faff! I said to DH that it feels like we’ll be wiping shit (excuse my French)
forever, here we go again!

Dipsy77 · 23/11/2020 16:27

Had my 24 week growth scan. All good babies are 1.8 and 1.7 lbs so a good size for twins xx

Pugprincess · 23/11/2020 17:26

Aw great news on your scans @Threnody and @Dipsy77 ❤️❤️

@Sakura54 I will definitely show you guys the nursery. If my scan goes ok next Monday we hope to start it soon after then x

Anyone else get really windy? Taken some rennies. My left hip keeps hurting when I walk too, thought it was wind trapped but starting to think it’s my actual hip, only the left side though? Feeling quite uncomfortable at the moment. Feeling kind of achey/heavy/stretching I think...lol moaning. I’ve noticed it’s getting more awkward to put on socks and shoes. Made it to school today but was late as anxiety was rough this morning. Hopefully I can be on time tomorrow. My goal this week is just to attend all 5 days lol. X

Hope everyone else is good xx
