No point to this thread just so excited to meet my baby Grin Is anyone else due soon or found out they're pregnant recently? It's all so exciting

Congratulations @SadAndPregnant and @Mc3209 !! You're giving me hope that my baby will actually arrive and I won't be pregnant forever!

Had some more cramping in the night but still no signs. Going to go for a long walk later and jump on DH tonight!

SqidgeBum · 28/10/2020 13:01

@Sairafina jumping on DH tonight 🤣🤣🤣 I dont think I can bring myself to do it. We tried DTD the other night but it made me so crampy I had to stop. It was probably working muscle wise, but I just couldnt get past the cramps.

My poor DH. He is so understanding. I do feel bad for him.

Sairafina · 28/10/2020 13:27

We're quite lucky in that of the 2 remaining positions available to us, one is my fave and the other is his 😆

I'm so excited to keep checking back on this thread as any of us could go at any time

IncyWincySpiderOnRepeat · 28/10/2020 14:29

Congratulations @Mc3209 and @SadAndPregnant! Hope all is well. I had pre op yesterday and am now feeling very nervous about ELCS on Friday, will be so glad when it is over safely and baby is in my arms...

YouBringLightInToADarkPlace · 29/10/2020 08:09

Well my little one managed to hang on until today (40 weeks) and I'm going in for a planned caesarean this afternoon... little bit anxious (mostly about leaving my 3 year old, never really been apart for long.
Had a good old ugly cry last night because I'm not ready for him to not be my baby, but today I think I'm ready... hopefully all goes well!

SqidgeBum · 29/10/2020 08:29

@YouBringLightInToADarkPlace best of luck! I imagine it is very scary knowing what's coming today, and I 100% understand your concerns for your toddler. I have had a few ugly cries for my DD while promising her she will still be my little girl. Emotions are generally high. You will soon be holding your little baby. Good luck!!

IncyWincySpiderOnRepeat · 29/10/2020 09:27

Good luck @YouBringLightInToADarkPlace, how exciting that you will be meeting your new little one this afternoon.
Really hope all goes smoothly and fingers crossed you will be home with your 3 year old again very quickly afterwards.
Mine’s tomorrow and am now feeling really quite scared already, just focusing on meeting the little one, it will all be worth it!

FlowerPig · 29/10/2020 10:16

My little girl has arrived this morning 🥰💖

Waters went 11:20 last night, got to hospital for checking at 12:20 was sent away at 1am....home for 1:30 when contractions started. Got in the bath at 3ish and out for 4ish as couldn't get comfortable but held on at home until 5:30ish then started getting ready to go back in.

Arrived at hospital at 6:26 and was 8cm dilated and baby was with us by 6:40 - gas and air only and a few labial tears - think 5/6 stitches.

I am in cloud 9, such a high, what a feeling 🥰🥰🥰

sophs29 · 29/10/2020 10:17

@YouBringLightInToADarkPlace all the best for this afternoon! and a speedy recovery for you! I feel the same leaving my 2.5 year old, although I'm sure he'll be completely oblivious I've gone and be spoilt by his GM! 😂

FlowerPig · 29/10/2020 10:17

PS good luck for today/tomorrow @IncyWincySpiderOnRepeat and @YouBringLightInToADarkPlace 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

biscuit13 · 29/10/2020 10:22

@FlowerPig wow congratulations!!! Sounds like you did amazingly well at home, and just made it to hospital in time! How far along were you?? X

FlowerPig · 29/10/2020 10:28

@biscuit13 39+5, I was so surprised and happy I was 8cm, I didn't want to "overreact" and go in too early and each time I called they encouraged me to stay home and stay off the Freya app but I carried on as it helped with my breathing.

Listened to my body and when I started making noises that resembled a distressed cow we made our way in and voi la!!

I had you down for next - the first two who gave birth from this post went in order of who replied to OP and you were third!!!

SqidgeBum · 29/10/2020 10:33

@FlowerPig that's amazing!!! The speed of your labour gives me hope. My last one was 52 hours from waters breaking to birth. I NEED it to be shorter this time.

It sounds like you did so well. You should be very proud of yourself 😁 enjoy those newborn cuddles.

sophs29 · 29/10/2020 10:34

Wow congratulations @FlowerPig you did amazingly! enjoy your baby cuddles!

IncyWincySpiderOnRepeat · 29/10/2020 10:43

Massive congratulations @FlowerPig!! Sounds like you did amazingly well, brilliant that you managed to stay home for so long too. Enjoy those newborn snuggles, they literally are the best 😀

biscuit13 · 29/10/2020 11:46

@FlowerPig wow well done you!! Sounds like you stayed nice and calm. How was it coping with the pain at home? Did the bath help?

Oh no don't.... im still hanging on in there although I am only 39+1 today so hopefully not too much longer! 🤞🏻 Will definitely be updating when it happens though.

FlowerPig · 29/10/2020 12:12

Thank you all, it feels so surreal and like I will wake up anytime soon. Can't believe how lucky I was really. Loving every second of baby cuddles and studying her face 🥰🥰🥰

@SqidgeBum 52 hours is some marathon!!!! Not sure how you coped!!! I was ready to take all the drugs when I arrived back at 8cm but it was too late, if they'd have told me I was 2cm or something I don't know what I'd have done, I think that's why I stayed home so long as I couldn't face being told I wasn't far along.

I didn't find it actually the whole thing too bad looking back....probably easy to say now, contractions were definitely more painful than the actual birth and crowning....that was just relentless pushing even without the urge as she became a bit distressed and they were gearing up to use the suction cup but i powered on through.

I think the worst was the stitches and the check of my perineum....I don't do anal so that was a shock/stinger!!! 🤣

biscuit13 · 29/10/2020 12:59

@FlowerPig what do you mean when they checked your perineum? Am I being really naive here.... what did they do?

Sairafina · 29/10/2020 13:09

What wonderful news to wake up to! Congratulations @FlowerPig on such a speedy and relatively straight forward birth and the very best of luck to @YouBringLightInToADarkPlace for the c-section later on today.

I lost my mucus plug yesterday afternoon so hoping for developments soon 🤞🏼

FlowerPig · 29/10/2020 13:44

@biscuit13 finger(s?) up the bum to feel for a tear in the back passage!!! Not great with haemorrhoids, probably not great without either 😆

biscuit13 · 29/10/2020 13:59

@FlowerPig I actually didn't know they did that..... thanks for the heads up 😂

SqidgeBum · 29/10/2020 14:18

Still no signs of things moving for me. Even my back pains from yesterday have stopped. I went walking around tesco today to see if that helped. Also, I was thinking if my waters broke in the biscuit aisle I may get a voucher, and if that happens it's better that it breaks in tesco than in Morrisons 🤣

FizzingWhizzbee123 · 29/10/2020 14:21

All the best @IncyWincySpiderOnRepeat and @YouBringLightInToADarkPlace

Congratulations @FlowerPig

Love reading these. Gives me hope that this baby will, in fact, actually come out at some point!!

FizzingWhizzbee123 · 29/10/2020 14:23

Erm I did not know about the perineum check either! Sounds like the last thing you need after labour 😱 I have no idea if that happened to me last time, joys of an epidural!

SqidgeBum · 29/10/2020 14:28

I remember having a perenium check with my stitches on my last birth. I found it bizarre, but I was propped up having a conversation with the doctor between my legs about pizza and one born every minute (which he had apparently starred in). However I didnt find it painful, just odd, especially as he told me what he was doing. I had a local anaesthetic as I had an episiotomy.
