Not sleeping over here either...

kkr168 · 05/11/2020 05:20

Me either, been sleeping great over the past week too!

Kj1010 · 05/11/2020 07:34

I'm not having a great night sleep either keeping waking up still have next week at work till I break up but kids still at school so will only be able to set alarm to later time instead of off lmao

peachypetite · 05/11/2020 07:36

I slept better last night, knackered from all the nesting haha.

Snowwhite2020 · 05/11/2020 09:19

I’m finishing up this week at work and has been a lot getting everything in order to walk
out the door for a year! So I think my brain had been overtired.... 2 more days to go and then I can nap in the day if needs be! The luxury! X

jalu47 · 05/11/2020 11:26

I had my 34 week midwife appointment today and baby is still measuring big but everything else ok.

Interestingly I found out they were using someone else's growth chart to plot my stats - she had the same due date and was only 1kg lighter and 2cm shorter at booking so hasn't made a huge amount of difference but potentially a massive mistake to make considering i will be basing my decision on whether to induce or have a c-section on those figures! It did bring the baby's percentile down a bit (from the last few scans) but he's still big.

I've finally made the decision to finish work next Friday - I could end up hanging around for three weeks or it may only be one but the indecision was driving me nuts and at least I'll have a chance to put my feet up if I don't need to be induced quite so early. Just got to wait for the next scan now.

Jwl45 · 05/11/2020 13:17

I've been sleeping really well too this last week... No leg cramps etc. Although still feel really tired throughout the day.
C-section is booked for Monday so not long.... We do have the builders in putting a new bathroom upstairs... So I am up and down all day in case they want something so maybe not totally relaxing. I'm glad they are here in a way as they are a good distraction and this week is flying by.

Catching up on the thread now 😊
A small update from me, they got my other blood result in, called me this am and now I have a growth scan today, another in 2 weeks and need to start doing the at home blood prick monitoring 4 times a day. As odd as it sounds I think it could be from work raising my blood pressure as the last 12 weeks have been horrendous there.

@BG1234 how are you feeling? How is it all going? xx

@jojanna at 38 weeks I think you're completely entitled to feel tired and sore! Swimming sounds the dream - I'm desperate to go for a good swim!

jojanna · 05/11/2020 16:06

So turns out all my expectations of a long and late first labour were utterly WRONG! My waters broke last night at 38.5 weeks, and 5 hrs later she was with us! No time to think about water births or pain relief beyond TENS and gas and air (which I totally recommend!). What a day!

Babyhope98 · 05/11/2020 16:22

Oh congratulations how amazing @jojanna 💖

Snowwhite2020 · 05/11/2020 16:39

Congratulations @jojanna! Nice to hear a positive birth story also! What was her weight? I am sure you are on cloud nine! :)

@jalu47 that seems really bizarre that they have been using someone else’s chart... mine has been international standard oxford uni one- so based on averages. This is the one from the midwife. I found this strange at first since I am a small person and certainly don’t have a tonne of space in my hips/ pelvis... and this chart wouldn’t take that into account- just an average of all babies born to all women- but at this point who knows lol

jalu47 · 05/11/2020 16:45

@jojanna huge congrats - seems like it was quick! Hope you've had a good day getting to know your little one :)

@Snowwhite2020 how strange yours is different - the chart printed off in my notes had someone else name on top and their stats and no one had noticed until today! She reprinted it and apparently my booking details are factored in so the curve is ever so slightly different...

kkr168 · 05/11/2020 16:48

@jojanna congratulations, what was your due date?

peachypetite · 05/11/2020 16:50

@jojanna, wow, huge congratulations to you!! Nice to hear a positive straightforward update!

Snowwhite2020 · 05/11/2020 16:51

@jalu47 mine does not take my BMI or height or anything into account- which as I say I found a bit strange at first.

This is another generic one and I get the same result on it as the midwife one:

kkr168 · 05/11/2020 16:52

My midwife suggested packing a drink/snack bag, as DH wont be able to leave the labour room & whilst I will be offered food & drinks, he won't.
I've got some breakfast bars, peanut M&M's & a tiny bottle of concentrated squash, I'll grab a couple of water bottles with sports caps.
Any other ideas?
If there's time, before we make our way to the hospital, he could grab a meal deal for himself I suppose.

danielasummer · 05/11/2020 16:55

@jojanna wow, congratulations!! Amazing news :) what was her weight? Would love to know her name if you're willing to share. Hope you're enjoying your newborn bubble xx

@jojanna aaah!! Congrats!! That's fantastic news!!

peachypetite · 05/11/2020 17:02

@kkr168 I have put aside some non fizzy bottles of lucozade, sweets, rice cakes, dried fruit and nuts, belvita, peanut butter biscuits. Chocolate could melt as it will be hot in there!

MsBee13 · 05/11/2020 17:09

@jojanna congratulations!! X

loobeelou · 05/11/2020 17:38

Congratulations @jojanna hope you and baby are both doing well.

Pinktruffle · 05/11/2020 18:10

Congratulations @Johanna, I hope both you and baby are doing well x

Kj1010 · 05/11/2020 18:11

@jojanna congrats I havent even thought bout snack bag but not sure if I will be allowed to eat etc and dunno if I'm gonna be having natural or csection for next few weeks but will worse ways go shop on way

december2020 · 05/11/2020 18:23

Growth scan showed the baby slap bang on the 50th percentile - so the tech was super happy. Next scan in 2 weeks and I got my blood test home kit so they can start monitoring those results. I don't know what to think - could it be a wrong diagnosis?

Jwl45 · 05/11/2020 18:25

@jojanna a huge congratulations to you! Xx Hope you're both doing well x
