@otterbaby I've said it before and I'll say it again. If I'd not pushed to go in they wouldn't have seen me because my contractions were every 2/3 mins and sometimes 7/8 mins. I was 8cm when I got there. I went by intensity and told them I needed to be seen.

Argh I know @FourPlasticRings have been super lucky! Don’t worry I’ll probs have a godawful labour to even it out!!!

Bake-off will def get the oxytocin flowing this eve.

Well, I made the call. DH is on his way home, three hours early. Really going to feel awful if it stops now! 😬

Thank you everyone! Hormones are very weird. I wanted to cry in morrisons because I had left F with my partner so I could get some formula, and felt like the worst mam for doing so!

@NWnature I'd kill for a massage, sounds amazing at your place!
Midwife app went well, we decided not to sweep as no signs of baby putting in an appearance yet so I'm just going to give her some more time and while shes not as firmly back to back as she was shes not turned all the way yet. Possible induction pencilled in for next week on Wednesday if shes not here by then!

Well, we got to contractions every 3-4 minutes but they slowed in the car and stopped entirely when I was in the hospital! Now back home, only 2cm dilated. This kid is going to be named Ermentrude as payback at this rate. Started up again as soon as I got back to the car, now about every 5 minutes for about a minute, but I'm not going back in for a couple of hours at least. Considering sleep but don't want to stop the contractions. Just finished bakeoff on +1.

@FourPlasticRings I hope they keep going for you. Anything else to watch to keep the oxytocin flowing? Sounds like baby is being stubborn.

@BntTowers Got Moana on now. Knowing this kid, it'll be sticking around another week or so yet! Silver lining- it's turned the right way around.

@FourPlasticRings good choice and great news baby is now the right way. Keep up with positive thinking that baby will be arriving soon. You've got this!

Mine is punishing me for the growth scan today, lots of massive movements!

@FourPlasticRings what a pain! They keep getting our hopes up!

I'm on hour 4 of contractions...currently about every 8 mins and so effing painful...like you, trying to get back down to 5 mins or so before heading in.

Praying to the labour gods for us both 😂

Thanks @BntTowers and @otterbaby. I'm going to head to bed and see what happens I think. Could well kill the contractions entirely but at least if I can't sleep through them I'll know that it's the real deal. And the sleep deprivation last time I had a baby was brutal.

Hi all 😊 Baby boy was born at 10.03am yesterday (6th) weighing 8lbs 4oz, following a 2 day latent labour and 30 hour established labour! I managed through the whole thing with only gas and air in the natural birth centre, but unfortunately 2 hours into the pushing stage i was utterly exhausted and baby was stuck, so we ended up being transferred to the labour ward for a fairly dramatic assisted delivery (ventouse). We're still in hospital but both doing well. He's absolutely perfect, born with the most hair I've ever seen on a baby! Name tbc - we're fairly settled on one but I need a few hours sleep before we can make it official! Currently been awake for over 50 hours without 5 mins sleep 😳

My waters went this morning at 4am Iv been examined and need to go back tonight if not beforehand m, if nothing happens naturally now they will speed it along and she will be here by this time tomorrow 🤞🏻

@bluemoon2468 huge congratulations! I was wondering how you were getting on. You should be very proud of yourself. That sounds exhausting. Hopefully you can get a bit of rest soon.

@Buzz22 iv had some in the past hour or so, manageable though at the moment. They're not regular yet

Last night things weren’t as intense BH-wise so think baby is playing hard to get 😅 Have a midwife apt today so will see what she thinks but doubt she’ll check my cervix or anything as not quite 40 weeks yet!
