@Buzz22 congratulations on your baby girl. Sorry to hear you had such a traumatic time in theatre, that was really badly planned of them.

We had our baby boy, Otis on 20th October. When I went in the midwife said I was probably not dilated enough to stay and then surprised I was 5cm and admitted me. Less than 3 hours later I was 10cm and baby born an hour later. It all happened a lot quicker than I thought it would but I did stay at home as late as I could manage pain wise and used breathing techniques and the ball at home. I had no idea of the post birth pains, my god how hard is it to wee!

I had two grazes inside and one tear which needed stitching due to locations. I lost more blood than they would have liked but didnt even realise until the midwife told me hours later. When I tried to get off the bed I could see she was right as I felt so faint. I had to stay on labour ward longer for blood tests and to be monitored. In the end I had a cannula fitted and extra fluids. Because labour ward was too busy but they wanted me to have more one to one monitoring I was taken at 3am to empty day unit and eventually at 5am to postnatal. Luckily my husband stayed with me 6 hours after he was born and visiting hours for postnatal are generous at 10am to 9PM. I was discharged by lunchtime the next day and they said considering the blood loss they were amazed at my iron levels still being so good. I felt much better after the fluid drip overnight too.

Hope everyone is doing well xx

@LexiM congratulations on your baby boy! Sounds like you stayed calm throughout the experience and took it like a trooper! Glad you are home now x

saiditbetterthanme · 24/10/2020 17:49

@BntTowers I've PM'd you too. Would love to be a part of the fb group. Hope everyone is keeping well!

CouscousEvaporator · 25/10/2020 15:49

Please could I join the Facebook group? Now sending a pm x

SkyBlue20 · 25/10/2020 20:18

Congratulations @LexiM, love the name Otis, too! Hope you’re both doing well xx

CouscousEvaporator · 26/10/2020 09:24

I’ve just seen @BntTowers can’t add people at the moment!
Would someone be able to PM me the name of the fb group? I’ll post my birth story there - had a little girl a couple of weeks ago and currently struggling through nights 😖

ChickenDipper28 · 26/10/2020 09:47

Also would love to join the Facebook group please! I would love to post birth story there too 🥰

Nostalgia1992 · 26/10/2020 10:43

Hello, could I join the facebook group too? I've been a background follower of this thread the entire 9 months of my pregnancy and now shes here I feel sad I cant see the updates with you all x

BntTowers · 26/10/2020 11:41

Hi, I will hopefully get time to add people to the Facebook group soon. It's awkward because I have to use the laptop and I'm not getting any time to sit without Esme feeding at the moment. The days just seem to be disappearing at the moment.

FourPlasticRings · 26/10/2020 11:54

Hey guys, we've discussed this on the Facebook group and from here on out anyone who hasn't contributed to the Mumsnet group prior to requesting to join the Facebook group will not be approved to join the Facebook group. We're sorry if this disappoints any lurkers, but obviously Facebook does not have the same anonymity as Mumsnet does, we've shared some very personal info on here over the months and we have nothing but your word for it that you've been following along. Any past contributers are welcome though.

HerondaleDucks · 26/10/2020 13:29

BntTowers is having a hard time to keep track on mumsnet. Please could you message me requests for the fb group. Thanks!!

CouscousEvaporator · 26/10/2020 14:15

@HerondaleDucks sent you a pm x

saiditbetterthanme · 26/10/2020 16:58

@HerondaleDucks I've also sent you a PM. Thank you

saiditbetterthanme · 27/10/2020 03:40

Hello,

I've asked to join the Facebook group but have been told that since I was a late joiner, people would feel uncomfortable with me now joining.
I've followed this group since the beginning and started contributing since thread 8, 2 weeks before my son was due. My son was 10 days late and what with various appointments and trips forward and back to the hospital, I've been unable to post much.
I think I'm only asking again because @plasticfourrings said that previous posters would be welcome.
I've really valued the journey and input from everyone and from experience, motherhood can get kind of lonely. Especially during lockdown etc and it would be really lovely to chat with people who also have a newborn at this time.
I wonder if you would reconsider adding me?
Sorry for any typos. Currently breastfeeding my 11 day old and trying to type one handed.

Aquablue1123 · 27/10/2020 22:26

@Buzz22 aah congratulations! I bet you are so relieved to have her with you. Well done to you, what a birth story, you definitely went through it. I'm sure you are feeling a range of emotions now but at least you have your baby here safe and sound. I hope you are enjoying the new born bubble. Take it easy, and rest well, I felt better after a week and was a lot more mobile than I thought I would be; c sections aren't fun at all :-( physically & mentally. I hope you're ok 😘 xxx

Viletta · 31/10/2020 01:54

@NWnature how is it going for you? Hope all is well

MummyBearBoo · 06/11/2020 21:23

Congrats @Buzz22 so sorry you had a difficult labour tho but like you said she's here and she's healthy! Xx

Zaalfruit · 11/11/2020 23:34

This thread feels a life time ago .

BecLJ · 12/11/2020 04:09

@Zaalfruit it does! How are you doing?

Zaalfruit · 12/11/2020 06:32

@BecLJ how are you ? It’s interesting motherhood . Tonight has been tough it’s been a sleepless night with lots of cuddles.

ThirdElephant · 07/02/2022 22:08

Hey guys. Just to let you know, I broke my phone ages ago and couldn't remember my Facebook password to log in on my new phone, so that's why I've disappeared, in case anyone is wondering. Just occurred to me to track this thread down so you're not forever wondering what happened to me! My phone broke way back before Christmas. The kids, DH and I are all well, hope you and your littles are too.
