@Quiffy ah that sounds horrible. I've heard milk coming in is the worst. Least you know it's a normal reaction and it should pass hopefully quickly enough. Poor you , I'm not looking forward to that! X

Spark27 · 05/10/2020 15:39

I was trying to work out why I couldn't see an email for the FB group, and then realised I was looking at the wrong email account. Baby brain or stupidity 🤷‍♀️

Just for anyone who was worried about not producing any colostrum and wanting to bf. I didnt have any before and have just expressed 140ml in 15mins. I am bf baby, but also expressing so DH can do some bottles when I nap. I think if this was a Marvel film my superpower would be producing milk. No idea where it comes from, def not linked to boob size 😅.

Getting milk to dry up is painful. Tight bra, tops. Leave them alone, cabbage leaves help. Should get better in a few days to a week xx

BettyBotter1 · 05/10/2020 16:02

I checked my email address is linked to my facebook account and my spam folder but no message @Spark27 was your email from facebook?

Spark27 · 05/10/2020 16:21

It was an email in my spam folder from BntTowers (but her real name) saying I'd been invited to join the group.

otterbaby · 05/10/2020 16:36

@Quiffy aw that sounds so rough! When I needed to dry up my milk after my tfmr, I wore a tight sports bra 24 hrs a day for a few days and it went. Very uncomfortable though, hang in there!

NWnature · 05/10/2020 17:33

Ohh @Quiffy sounds rough. I hope the boobs settle down soon.

@Spark27 140ml is amazing! I got 0.1ml from left boob yesterday 😂 going to try again this eve so I can put it in the same syringe.

My clary sage candle arrived and has been lit. Went for a lash lift earlier and it was pretty uncomfortable lying there for an hour. Now back home chilling on the ball and feeling nervous for midwife appointment tomorrow, don’t know why.

justanothermamma · 05/10/2020 18:40

Hi All,

Sorry I've been quiet!

Even though I was on the ward until Sunday, I made sure to use every second to bond with Esther before coming home. First full day at home with my family today, was so lovely. Not got much sleep since the birth, ha! How is everyone else coping at night? Esther seems to have a four hour playtime somewhere between 10pm - 7am, nightmare 🙈.

I'm totally up for a Facebook group as it's hard to keep up on here now!

Hope you're all well, how many babies are we still waiting for? X

justanothermamma · 05/10/2020 18:43

@Quiffy I am with you on the boob problems, been engorged since Saturday, it's horrendous!

Currently sat with cabbage down my top, I have decided not to breastfeed so I just want my milk to go away! They thought Esther had jaundice so that secured my decision to stick with formula.

Any boob/engorgement tips welcome. Going between ice packs and cabbage leaves at the moment with little to no success.

Buzz22 · 05/10/2020 19:07

I'm still waiting! Due date is Friday. No signs of this baby coming anytime soon.
I dont use facebook, more of an Instagram girl. So unfortunately I cant join your group which is a shame 😞

Spark27 · 05/10/2020 19:25

I know @NWnature. Some people can sing, paint, are maths prodigies, but I can make milk 🤣. Least I can save some formula money for a bit.

Amelie is just the same @Justanothermamma she's been up constantly between 0200-0600. I've been living on random rubbish on netflix and chocolate raisins! But last night she did actually sleep in her moses basket from 0400-0600, so I've got my fingers crossed for tonight x

BntTowers · 05/10/2020 19:25

Our cats are stressing me out, the one with the poorly leg is so sad and also desperate to go outside so super annoying whenever I am downstairs. The other one is stressed and hissing at the poorly one, I think I'm going to have to shut one of the in a separate room tonight instead of them being together!

Treaclepie19 · 05/10/2020 19:26

Same @justanothermamma and @Spark27! Bea likes to party between about midnight and 4am. I'm surviving on the 3 hours I get a night 😂❤

OP posts:
Spark27 · 05/10/2020 19:52

Sorry you're experiencing the sleep deprivation too @Treaclepie19 and @Justanothermamma, but I am pleased to hear it not just me

blankiesandunicorns · 05/10/2020 19:55

I'm up for a Facebook group, sorry who do we give details too? Think I missed the info

HerondaleDucks · 05/10/2020 20:53

Ennis parties 1am till 5. I get my sleep 9 to 1 and dh does the feeds until then

justanothermamma · 05/10/2020 21:07

@Spark27 I am so glad I'm not alone! My first DD was one that slept an hour then was up an hour which is much worse than Esther's current 4 hour party because she sleeps the rest of the time/is very chilled out. Currently she's quite unsettled and not asleep so I'm hopeful her party time has arrived a little earlier this evening 🙈. @Treaclepie19 We're in this together! @HerondaleDucks My toddler is doing a stellar job of preventing either of us getting any sleep at the moment! My Mum is coming over tomorrow so hopefully she'll take DD to the park and then me and DH can take turns napping and dealing with Esther - although she pretty much sleeps all day so that's promising.

Quiffy · 05/10/2020 21:28

@BettyBotter1 @Treaclepie19 @BntTowers @AutumnBabyWinterMummy @NWnature @otterbaby thank you! Feeling so much better today. It’s crazy what hormones do to you. I’m so excited to just have pmt once a month again 😹😹

@justanothermamma I’m also sitting with cabbage leaves right now 😅 I’ve heard a few people say Sudafed can help dry it up so I’ve started that this afternoon

@Spark27 that reminds of Misfits, I’m sure there was an episode where someone had the power to control milk or something

@bnttowers honestly cats are so stressful, hope you can get some peace and they settle down

We’ve been having a 2-4am fun time trying to get to sleep. He just resits so much. Can’t believe a week ago today I was waiting to go into the labour suite 🙀

marauder1994 · 05/10/2020 21:59

Can I join? I was due on the 18.10.2020. But was induced on 03.10.2020 due to reduced movements. My little Frankie was born 04.10.2020.

How has it hit you? I was fine yesterday but today I feel like crying. I miss being pregnant, I miss the kicks and just worry I'm not as good a mum as I should be.

Does anyone else feel like this? Xxx

Early Oct Babies Part 10
HerondaleDucks · 06/10/2020 01:39

The tears are totally normal @marauder1994 I've cried about 10 times since Ennis was born!

MrsD1990 · 06/10/2020 03:47

@marauder1994 I feel great and then very suddenly something will set me off crying. Sleep deprivation, hormones and baby blues! We're doing great though and everything we can for our little guys! I feel bad because me and my husband never used to argue but now we are biting each other's heads off quite a lot

@bnttowers went you a message for the FB group but I don't know if I did it right!

ScatterBrain912 · 06/10/2020 05:50

Good morning all, sorry I haven't been replying, and I'll catch up on everyone soon.
I hope we're all doing well and babies are starting to arrive safely 🤞

My little girl was born at 00:47 weighing 7.2lbs.
I had the highest dosage of the drip going without any pain relief. Apparently there were midwives outside my room wanting to come in and witness her birth! Was 4cm at 6pm, 6cm by 10pm - I asked for gas and air shortly after this. 8cm by around midnight, had the injection pain relief (I can't remember what it's called) and then started involuntary pushing at about midnight.

It all went so quickly in my head. Partner has gone home now due to me being moved to the post natal ward and will be back to pick us up at around 1pm

FourPlasticRings · 06/10/2020 06:21

There you all are! I was wondering all yesterday why the group had gone quiet! @Treacle81 congratulations on bubs, he's gorgeous. Sorry you went through it a bit too get him here though. Hope you heal quickly.

@Treaclepie19 thanks for the new thread.

@ScatterBrain912 welcome!

I'm not searchable on Facebook so need to find you guys rather than the other way around I think. It's the group searchable?

My sympathies @booroo and @otterbaby (saw you on the insomnia thread the other night otter, my sympathies). I'm still in the pudding club too, annoyingly! I'm telling myself that due dates can be up to two weeks off, so maybe it's not actually 40 weeks yet really.

@StrawberrySprinkles I've had some odd Braxton Hicks too- yesterday, really quite painful ones (like you'd be reaching for the paracetamol if it were period cramps, but not yet lying on the sofa with the hot water bottle) every 3 minutes or so for like an hour. It's all very confusing. And to think, I thought I'd know what was happening this time around!

otterbaby · 06/10/2020 06:53

@ScatterBrain912 aw congratulations! Sounds like it did go very quickly!

@FourPlasticRings I'm having an absolute time of it 😭 also, I think if you give bnt your email address, it can be sent to you even if you're private.

Contractions last night were horrendous...so so painful. Twice I entered "established labour" on my Freya app where they were 3-4 minutes apart and then they sort of tapered back off to every 7-8...and now back up to 10, but sometimes 6 (?!?!). They take my breath away and feel like someone is stabbing me, so it feels like the real thing but I just can't get them to maintain at 3-4 minutes for longer than half an hour! So frustrating.

Spark27 · 06/10/2020 06:54

Congratulations @ScatterBrain912. I hope you and your little girl are doing well and that you managed to get some rest afterwards (although I know I was completely wired for a day afterwards) xx

FourPlasticRings · 06/10/2020 08:02

Oops, missed your announcement @ScatterBrain912! Congratulations! Sounds like you did really well.

@Otterbaby I know just what you mean! I've stopped timing mine because I no longer trust that they mean anything. I've gotten my hopes up only to have them dashed so many times. I've had three about fifteen minutes apart in the last hour but I'm fully expecting them to stop again shortly. Refusing to time them with my app.
