Congratulations @ScatterBrain912! 💜

@FourPlasticRings sorry to hear you’ve been having nasty BHs too, I had them again last night seems to start around 11pm and stop at 3am 😬 going to try and sleep a bit today as I have a feeling it’s going to become real labour at that sort of time and I’ll be knackered before I’ve even started!

@otterbaby sounds like yours are definitely more established than mine so hopefully they lead somewhere very soon for you!

LexiM · 06/10/2020 11:38

@ScatterBrain912 congratulations! Hope you are managing to get some rest today.

I am still having cramps and movement but will be surprised if baby is coming anytime soon. I'm not at my due date yet so have to remind myself to be patient! I had 3 naps yesterday on the sofa, after hardly any sleep the night before I just couldn't stay awake. Had a better night last night, so I expect I wont be so lucky again tonight!

I'm trying to keep active, except for a workman coming on Friday I have zero plans. I really should make some then baby will come 😂

BntTowers · 06/10/2020 12:03

I actually slept really well last night, I only woke up 3 times, still really didn't want to get out of bed this morning though! Baby was really active right before I normally go to sleep and was quite painful actually, maybe that's why I slept better than when it's had a quieter evening.
Finally had a call from the antenatal clinic for my growth scan and I'm going in this afternoon, but DH has meetings all afternoon so I've had to ask MIL to take me, I'm just hoping there won't be to m any questions and they can get the scan done fairly quickly. I hate asking people favours at the last minute. I'm into single figures onto count down for the induction date now, will see later on if they decide to move it earlier or not...

I think I've sent a link/ added everybody that has requested to join the facebook page now. If I've missed you off just give me another shout, I can only do it when I'm on the laptop so my forget.

BntTowers · 06/10/2020 12:04

@Scatterbrain, congratulations! You did so well.

NWnature · 06/10/2020 12:27

Congrats @ScatterBrain912

Hope today goes well @BntTowers - I would love a scan right now to see what’s going on in there.

I’m getting a bit antsy with movement, the whole way through this pregnancy has been awful as anterior placenta so didn’t really feel anything til so late on and even then it’s not much. So it’s really hard to ascertain if it’s reduced given the pattern is so little in the first instance!

Have been on the elvie pump all morning and managed to fill a 1ml syringe woohoo’ so much easier than hand expression.

Heading to the mw in an hour or so.

booroo · 06/10/2020 12:38

I'm grumpy/upset 41 week midwife appointment yet again sweep unsuccessful and now I'm booked for induction potentially this Sunday just waiting to hear back.. so sad as really didn't want to be induced again especially with the covid restrictions as can't have any visitors at all and so worried about how my youngest will cope without me :( have just got back and had a cry.. just didn't see it going this way again this time.

BettyBotter1 · 06/10/2020 12:39

Also heading to midwife this afternoon! I'm term plus 4 so I guess we might book a potential induction date if baby doesn't decide it's time. Still no symptoms of anything happening.

Congratulations @Scatterbrain912 😊👶

Well done @NWnature that's great work on the pump 🥳

Good luck with growth scan @BntTowers

Hope you're all doing ok @StrawberrySprinkles @otterbaby and @FourPlasticRings things are happening for you. Hope you are ok too @bluemoon2468 x

BettyBotter1 · 06/10/2020 12:42

Congratulations also @marauder1994 Frankie is adorable 👶🎉

NWnature · 06/10/2020 12:52

Eek I keep missing announcements! Congrats @marauder1994 welcome to the world little Frankie!

@BettyBotter1 I have zero symptoms whatsoever! Will be interesting to see what they say. I don’t know what my trusts policy is on induction.

@booroo keep your chin up! I’ve read loads of stories where babies come before their induction dates - will keep everything crossed for you. However even if you do have the induction- that means baby will def be here by next week for you!!!

BettyBotter1 · 06/10/2020 14:11

@NWnature I know I have a maximum of 8 days left as they don't like to let you go beyond term plus 12 here. Maybe it will depend on their appointment book?! Will let you know!

AutumnBabyWinterMummy · 06/10/2020 14:20

@BntTowers hope the cats are a bit better today!

@justanothermamma have a nice hopefully nap day today!

@Quiffy happy to hear you're feeling better now

@marauder1994 congrats and what a lovely pic! I'm sure it's all just hormones!! I really hope I don't miss being pregnant because then I'll really know somethings wrong, I've really not enjoyed pregnancy at all! It's been hard work!

@ScatterBrain912 congratulations! All sounds like it went really well.

@otterbaby ah poor you especially with them being painful but just going off again. Hopefully soon it's the real thing.

@booroo aw sorry to hear you are upset 😢

No movement here, still not hit due date so not too impatient just yet. I'm 39+1 today.

Decided instead of blitzing my house room by room which I for some reason can't bring myself to do (it's all perfectly fine and clean I just want to do the full top to bottom clean but can't be bothered) anyway instead I decided to paint the inside of my summerhouse white. Think dp thinks I'm a bit mad as it was chucking it down and just seemed like a really random thing to do. But I had a nice burst of energy after a really good sleep last night (and trust me I've been feeling crappy loads recently) so thought I'd make the most of it! X

AutumnBabyWinterMummy · 06/10/2020 14:27

@BettyBotter1 ours is the same so I've got max of 18 days left before induction which does seem ages away. I'm happy to wait until the last minute though x

blankiesandunicorns · 06/10/2020 14:45

Congrats @ScatterBrain912 and @marauder1994 ❤️

Hope everyone's ok. I'm 5 days over due and had a show this morning so hoping won't be long now!

Buzz22 · 06/10/2020 14:55

@marauder1994 yay congratulations! Hello baby Frankie!

I see the midwife on Friday when I'll be exactly 40 weeks. Does anyone know when you a generally offered a sweep? I've read mixed things online so maybe it varies from trust to trust?
Some say 40 weeks for first time mothers and 41 for subsequent babies.
Any of you ladies offered a sweep at 40? Should have asked at my last appointment but everyone (including midwife!) thought baby would be here by then....obviously seeming increasingly unlikely as I've had zero signs!

otterbaby · 06/10/2020 14:59

@AutumnBabyWinterMummy I never realised just how much random housework I would get done while pregnant 😂 definitely make the most of it before baby arrives!

I think my trust starts offering them at 39 weeks. I have my 40+4 appt on Friday and will probably accept one then if baby hasn't arrived, as my trust induces you at 41 weeks which will be Monday for me. I would think you could have one at your appt if you wanted to!

FourPlasticRings · 06/10/2020 15:03

Congratulations @marauder1994!

@Buzz22 it's 40 weeks regardless at my trust. Though I'll be 40+6 at my next appointment, so it's virtually 41!

Here's hoping @blankiesandunicorns!

Well done @AutumnBabyWinterMummy. I'm still battling that accursed conservatory.

Sorry @booroo, hopefully baby arrives before then. Do they do outpatient inductions at your trust? At mine they start you off and send you home.

Thanks for the add @BntTowers.

Query: how regular are regular contractions? I know I've done this before but cannot remember! Is it like every 7 minutes on the dot or can there be a range, like between 6 and 9 minutes? Trying to tell strong Braxton Hicks from legitimate labour (and getting my hopes up unnecessarily, no doubt!)

otterbaby · 06/10/2020 15:08

That last bit of my post was aimed at @Buzz22, sorry a bit all over the place today!

@FourPlasticRings I rang last night to ask this and they said they wouldn't want me to come in until they are regularly between 3-5 minutes for about an hour. I mentioned that I had been having them at 4 minutes but every so often had a 8-9 minute one and she said that meant I wasn't in labour yet 😒

blankiesandunicorns · 06/10/2020 15:13

Just checking, I don't need to phone labour ward for bloody show do I? It's normal isn't it?

FourPlasticRings · 06/10/2020 15:18

@otterbaby it's frustrating isn't it? DH works over an hour away and I don't want to make the call for him to come home only for them to stop again!

otterbaby · 06/10/2020 15:23

@blankiesandunicorns nope, completely normal! Unless you're having lots of fresh bleeding, I believe. Could mean that labour is imminent or could be a few days yet.

@FourPlasticRings so frustrating! I didn't realise that contractions could come and go like this. I thought that once they started, that was it!

NWnature · 06/10/2020 15:31

Midwife done. She is the nicest, honestly couldn’t rave about St Mary’s Paddington birth centre more. They are really lovely, I’ve had amazing continuity and the rooms are beautiful! My mw is on annual leave from next Thurs so I’m hoping I go into labour in time for her to be around. She has booked me into a post dates clinic they run on Saturday which is my due date, they do massage and aromatherapy- sounds delightful 😂 I can attend two of those sessions and can have three sweeps before they consider induction apparently and I can go to 42 weeks so for me would be 24 Oct. I have acupuncture tomorrow so perhaps that will kick things off as have had no cramping/ braxton hicks - have been going to the loo more (TMI) so clearing out a bit I guess. Feeling really positive now but it is a mega rollercoaster of emotions and I bet post-natal is even more intense.

Think I might treat myself to a hot choc on the way home, been mega sweet tooth the past couple of days inhaling kinda buenos like nobodies business 🙈

FourPlasticRings · 06/10/2020 15:34

@otterbaby I had none of this nonsense the first time around. Braxton Hicks were painless, when I woke up with them hurting it was actual labour and then they kept going until DD was born some 24 hours later. I naively assumed this time would be similar!

blankiesandunicorns · 06/10/2020 15:38

Thanks @otterbaby getting some mild pains aswell so I'm hoping things are moving along, but will see!

FourPlasticRings · 06/10/2020 15:56

Well, I'm not jealous at all... Envy Wink

Sounds lovely. I hear you on the sweet stuff. Bakeoff tonight and I have brioche for bread week.

booroo · 06/10/2020 15:56

Just heard from midwifes and Booked in for induction on Sunday morning, so here's hoping baby can be persuaded out before then 🤦🏼‍♀️ only upside that's stopped my meltdown is that baby will be here soon now either way the end is in sight.... why does everyday overdue feel like a month 🤣
