@BntTowers good luck for the sweep and you are so close now regardless!!! hang on in there!!

@Wobbitcatcher good luck with your sweep too! Sending good vibes.

I’ve just popped to the GP for flu jab and a long two hour walk. Then I did the six flights of stairs back to the flat for extra effort 😂 get engaged baby!!!!!!

Nipped into TK Maxx and they had a Matchstick Monkey gift set for £15 which I think will make a really nice gift for one of my friends who is expecting in December.

I had a horrible nights sleep, honestly up to wee about 10 times, just can’t drop off but then manage to sleep better in the morning once my husband has evacuated the bed 😂
I was worried I had got a UTI though as just constant need to pee. Will get some cranberry and pineapple juice tomorrow perhaps!

Hi girls, just a wee check to see if we've had any more babies as I know some of you aren't on the FB group. Is 12 days over the longest they'll let you go over? Know it seems to be different as heard 10 days also. Cam is coming on well, feeding every 2 hours through the night but sometimes I can get 3 during the day. Trying to nap when he sleeps. Managed an hour there which was fab. Hope you all don't have too much longer to come. Just remember these babies will come when ready 💞xx

LexiM · 13/10/2020 15:57

Good luck with the sweeps ladies! I am tempted to take one tomorrow, originally I said no when I lasf saw the midwife and she mentioned this appointment but 2 weeks later I'm impatient and got all the feels still so want to know it they mean anything at all is happening! I know even if you are dilated etc. they cant 100% predict anything.

@BntTowers either way not long for you now, excited for you! Bet you cant believe its finally so close.

@NWnature you have some stamina with all that walking, I could never do that much right now. I did 30 minute walk the other day at a fair pace and could barely walk any more when I got back. I also needed to pee a lot last night, i just put it down to the baby being low and moving a fair amount. I think I get paranoid if I dont go i will pee myself.

@Buzz22 hope baby doesnt keep you waiting too much longer either!

@Treacle81 glad you are getting some small hours of sleep, I bet it makes all the difference. My hospital tends to suggest induction from 12 days over but the midwife did say you can say no and go to 14... I have a feeling by the time I get there I would be happy with 12 days despite the sensible part of me saying "baby comes when baby is ready".

BntTowers · 13/10/2020 17:11

Meh, cervix is still closed but it has moved forwards a bit more and is soft so is "favourable". It did feel like she had a good try and irritated it a bit as I've had a small amount of bleeding when I had none last time.
I've walked back and got in the bath so it's an evening on the ball tonight then lots of walking tomorrow and more ball action in a hope that anything helsp.
Also have to order the curtains and blinds we need before the sale ends on Friday so will get a decision made on that which will make me feel better.

@NWnature super impressive amount of walking going on.

@LexiM I tend to think of I'm awake I might as well go to the loo, especially as I don't so much during the night to keep my fasting blood levels down so completely understand the fear!

Viletta · 14/10/2020 05:16

We had our little boy at 41+2, latent phase lasted 12h, contractions stopped and resumed the following night, baby was born at 11am, long labour! No induction to begin with, only a bit of oxytocin at the end as I was pushing for 4 hours, no pain relief apart of gas and air, had episiotomy, but no instrumental delivery as planned. Laboured in the pool until we realized I had meconium in waters so had to be transferred to the labour ward. If not in there I don't think I would end up with episiotomy but whatever. We both are doing great, having lots of cuddles and start of sleepless nights!

Good luck everyone who is still waiting!

saiditbetterthanme · 14/10/2020 06:49

@Viletta congratulations! Great news, well done on getting through the long labour.

Treacle81 · 14/10/2020 12:50

@lucylu37 Hi there! Congratulations 💞 @BntTowers I think it was you that set this up, can you help out? xx

LexiM · 14/10/2020 13:07

@Viletta huge congratulations! Hope you are doing ok.

Seeing the midwife later today, I've decided I will take up the offer of the sweep. I know it doesn't guarantee anything but curiosity over whether anything is happening has got the better of me and I'm uncomfortable anyway so maybe he might get the memo to come soon Haha.

I literally have no plans the rest of this week, I need to think of something to do otherwise I'm going to be so bored if baby doesnt arrive. I've done all the nesting. Only thing I seem to be good at right now is having a nap. I had one at 9am this morning after another restless uncomfortable night. It's so sad when a trip to the midwife is the highlight of your day! 😂

VioletIvy · 14/10/2020 13:16

I would also love to join the Facebook group please Smile

Had my discharge appt with the midwife today and they aren't discharging me just yet because I'm still not feeling as good as I think I should be at day 15. My GP surgery is rubbish so it's nice to have the option to stay with the midwives a bit longer! So I get what you mean @LexiM I think I will be sad when I'm eventually discharged from them and have nowhere to go GrinSad

Treaclepie19 · 14/10/2020 13:50

Thats good @VioletIvy that they're not discharging you.
I let myself be discharged and saw my gp instead because the midwives weren't really checking anything. They missed the fact my tear wasn't healing properly. Thankfully its sorted now.

Still thinking of you all but finding it hard to keep up on here with little Bea about ❤
Currently sat eating mini toblerones and watching married at first sight 😊

@Lucylu37 @VioletIvy I have sent you both PM with a link to the facebook group.

@violetIvy glad they are keeping an eye on you.

I had a bloody show to go with loosing a big blop of mucus plug this morning, the failed sweep must have done something. Just a waiting game until tomorrow now! I am also exhausted from walking so much yesterday and a nap is in order this afternoon.

LexiM · 14/10/2020 16:20

I had the sweep... it was successful and she said my cervix is 1-2cm dilated, soft and baby nice and low, she could feel his head. She said my waters membrane is very fragile and she had to be careful not to break it. She said I'm likely to get a trickle when they go rather than a gush. She said the next 48 hours will confirm whether its had an affect, fingers crossed baby wont be long but you never know.

I've gone home and I'm back on the birthing ball, determined to nudge this baby into labour 😂 whilst saying he will come when he likes haha. The midwife also said that all the cramps etc. I've been having for over a week are good and it's better to happen slowly.

@BntTowers fingers crossed the bloody show is a good sign, enjoy your nap.

@VioletIvy glad the midwife is still keeping an eye on you and not discharging just because you met a certain date.

otterbaby · 14/10/2020 17:16

@LexiM I had cramps/contractions for over a week and it meant my labour was only 5 hours, hopefully it'll be similar for you!

Treacle81 · 14/10/2020 17:16

Ahhhh @BntTowers and @LexiM v exciting!! you both can't have much longer to go now 🤗💞xx

BntTowers · 14/10/2020 17:54

@LexiM great news on your sweep, hopefully he will be here soon.

I couldn't sleep but I am glad I spent a few hours just relaxing. Will get on the ball tonight after another walk to drop a few things off at the post office.
Starting to get a little nervous, I'm really hoping I can go in to be induced first thing instead of having to hang around all day.
I hate not being in control and even though all along I've said I would much rather go into spontaneous labour than be induced I woke up scared that I would go into spontaneous labour instead of being induced! Pregnancy is getting to me now...

LexiM · 14/10/2020 18:15

@otterbaby I am ever hopeful!

@BntTowers glad you got some rest in. I think it's just all the time we have to overthink it all. I said to my husband sometimes I cant tell what I've been feeling overnight Vs what I'm potentially dreaming about, I often wake up very confused at the moment.

Re. The induction, do you get given a time slot or is it a case of come in first thing and they see when they've got time?

BntTowers · 14/10/2020 18:29

@LexiM I have to call at 7.30am then I will get told a time to come in, obviously it depends on the rooms available as to when they will say to go in.
