hi ladies

its been pretty quiet on here this weekend! all must be busy woth bumps and babies and xmas shopping

cityangel - sorry to hear about more bleeding but that you saw your babys heartbeat that must have been such a relief for you, you said they could see what was causing the bleeding did they give you any indication as to what it was? i hope it stops for you soon hun xxx

i am having such a crap day just wanted to come on here and vent
went out for lunch with one of my BF which was lovely but coming out of the car park i had a woman reverse straight into the side of my car wasnt even looking what she was doing and she has dented the wheel arch and scratched 2 panels then we had a big row in the street about whos fault it was as i was coming out of the car park the wrong way (a van was blocking my exit so had no choice) but she should still have been looking where she was going and not reversing blind!! i have her details but i know i have got a battle on my hands now getting the money, just before xmas. so i rang dp and told him as i was quite upset at this point and he said it was her fault but i should be more vigilant so i went to see him at work to show him the damage and he was not impressed!!! then he asked me to go inside where he was working to show me what he has been doing and then 5 minutes later he starts shouting at me telling me to go because he had done a cut wrong in his plasterboard
i cant win today i just feel like going back to bed and crying!!!

il catch up with everyone later just had to get that off my chest x

rainbowdays · 03/12/2007 16:57

CityAngel ? good to hear that baby is hanging on in there. I hope that the bleed stops soon to put your mind at rest.

MrsMc ? your bra size is really a light-weight size, I am already a 36K!!!!! And I have a long way to go yet. I am wondering if I can get an ?L? cupsize in breastfeeding bra!!!! I fortunately only went to 36K last time, but this time I have increased greatly already.

Iampg - sorry about your rotten day, hope it improves soon

quick wave to everyone else....

iampgatlast · 03/12/2007 17:01

hi rainbowdays!

i didnt even realise cup sizes went up that far!! i would love for my (.)(.) to have gone up in size but at 32 weeks i am still in my old bras will get measured in a couple of weeks in preparation for maternity bras.

must give you tonnes of back ache!!

greedygreedyguzzler · 03/12/2007 21:22

wow! fettle - cant believe you nearly lived in sawbo! now THAT would have been nice! marcy and toby could really have got together! did you work at GSK?

city - YAY!!!!!!!! yippee!!!!! i felt the same with this pg too!!! bright red blood is always supposed to be a bad sign isn't it, and i was convinced i had miscarried. i almost didnt believe it when i ahd a scan and they said it all looked ok. i am SO happy for you, you deserve it after waiting this long. yippee!! again!!!

OMG honey - fancy making me cry at this time of night! that story about that little baby really got to me. in some ways they are so tough aren't they, and then in other ways they are so vunerable and fragile.

talking of babies being tough, i dropped a shoe on marcy's face today (it was wrapped up in dd1's coat and fell on her when i picked up the coat) and she barely flinched!!! she has been such an angel baby for the past week or so she is really NOT helping to subdue my broodiness!! (the other 2 are having a good go though!!)

i never said marcy was sleeping through completely!!! just doing much better for her and going for 7 or 8 hour stretches at the right time of night. but i didnt want to tempt fate! she is in her big cot tonight, cos she looks too big for her moses basket now, so it will probably all change!!

fettle - she weighs 13lb not but i am not convinced she is very long at the moment so she is quite porky!!! she is only just growing out of 0-3mth clothes, so nowhere near as long as toby.

firsty - you absolutely MUST NOT have a coil fitted!!!!! you have to 'accidently' get pg again remember!!??

iampg - hope the rest of your day was better

massive knockers, or should i say rainbowdays!!! WOW!!!!! you really have got some big old knockers there!!! have you considered sharing some of your ample assets with bodkin and seaside? i have heard they could do with a bit extra!!!? just read on.............and it seems like iampg would like a bit too!!!

proud mother alert - ds got his first belt in karate yesterday, so he is now a blue belt!!! he was so cute going up to collect his belt from the big karate master! just hoping dd1 joins in at her ballet class tomorrow, she is SO desperate to join in but her nerves hold her back! oh! and whilst i am bragging about my kids...............marcy did the LOUDEST burp in the world today!!! that has to be some kind of achievement hey?!!

oops sorry guys mn didnt load so i clicked 3 times

Bodkin · 03/12/2007 21:45

Hey All

City - that sounds positive about the scan - just sorry you had to go through all that stress with the bleeding. Hope it's all plain sailing for you for the next 8 months

Firsty - yup, no complaints so far about the coil. Had a bit of spotting for a couple of days after, but all back to normal now. I opted for the copper coil, as my periods aren't that heavy anyway. GP said that if I don't get on with it I can always switch to the mirena one (hormone) Good to hear that Ty is sleeping better at night.
I keep meaning to ask you and Chooster, how's the hair loss going for you? I've got handfuls coming out now after every hairwash, it is totally grim! I'd forgotton about that lovely side effect of having a baby, and then a few more months down the line, you get that lovely "fuzz" around the top of your head as all the new hair grows through.

Greedy - good on your DS for his karate belt! But I think you'll find that MY baby burps the loudest akcherly - she sounds like a rugby player!

Iampg - sorry you're having a bad day. Prangs are just horrible anyway - hope it gets sorted and the dozy mare that hit you coughs up.

Rainbowdays - Holy Moly! Those are some super knockers you've got there!

Fettle - that's sad about your neighbour. Lovely idea to drop round a card though. Glad the party went well - I'm v. impressed!

Well, I'm still seeing definite signs of improvement in Isla. It could be coincidence that she's growing out of whatever it was that was troubling her, or the CO is working. She is much less sicky, so that might be partly it, but she just seems so much happier and relaxed. And consequently so is the rest of the family!

Bodkin · 03/12/2007 21:48

Crossed with you Iampg - sounds like she's going to really drag this out. Just what you don't need.

fettleandbabyfettle · 03/12/2007 22:21

Hi All

Greedy - I worked for MSD and DH worked for SKB. Congratulations Marcy on the burp and the big girl cot!!! Toby is still in his moses basket, but he seems to like being cosy now i'm keep everything crossed that I'm not infor an every 2 hour night!!! I did actually settle him in his big cot this evening after his bath, while I was putting DD to bed, but he was wide awake, sucking his thumb, quite quietly and I missed him, so I have to admit I brought him down here for a bit of cuddle. And the smiles he gave DH as soon as he heard his voice was so worth it. He then fed some more and settled again pretty easily in his moses basket here. I'm so enjoying following no routine with him whatsoever - very liberating!!! And so far he sleeps so much better than DD ever did, that I think it seems to be working for him too.

He still has his moments of awful screaming though Bodders! It's just when he is tired - got DD's nativity play tomorrow morning and under 4's are not allowed. I've said I've got to bring Toby as I don't know anyone well enough round here to leave him. I've been told, as long as he doesn't scream!! But I don't want to spoil DD's shining moment as an angel, so hopefully his dummy and DH's magic arms will keep him quiet. ANyway - so pleased to here that Isla is getting more settled. And glad the coil is so far working for you - you won't ever convince me I'm afraid!! I'm not looking forward to the hair loss stage!

Iampg - so sorry to hear about your prang. hope it doesn't drag out too long. Have fun buggy buying! still no hot water! But Ariston have agreed to give us a replacement free of charge, we have to pay for it to be fitted though. Just hope that it happens at some point this week. Managed to bath the children this evening with 4 kettles, a massive stock pot and massive casserole dish full of boiling water - it's a miracle neither of them got burnt while I was carrying all this hot water around the house!

honey - hope Dexter is continuing to improve!

Mrs - less than 3 weeks to go to Mat leave - hope work is letting you go calmly - my work seemed crazy up until the last couple of days, when I finally felt like I was finishing up! how are your plans for Christmas going?

Firsty - how's work going? And how is Ty getting on with your mother?

Rainbowy - WOW!!!! They make my 36 H's seem tiny!!!

Chooster - big waves - how you doing?

Right, must go to sleep now, in preparation for my bad night ahead - I didn't actually get a whole night's sleep last night, as DD woke up really upset as her leg was sore. Not quite sure why, pins and needles I expect, poor girl.

Sleep well all

Bodkin · 04/12/2007 10:10

Fettle - at your little sleeping superstar! Mind you, I suppose Isla did used to sleep quite well in the old days [wistful]. Hope you had another good night!

Right, really must get some chrimbo shopping done while she's akip now....

honeyapple · 04/12/2007 11:00

morning all,

well DD is off school today... temp/ cough/ earache etc... saw GP earlier and now she is on antibiotics too . Hope she perks up as it is her nativity tommorrow and Fettle-she is an angel too . I will be taking Dex to both DCs xmas productions despite the ban! Stick him up my jumper was my plan... although his SUPER LOUD burps might cause some disturbence .

Wow these bra sizes are seriously impressive... i thought my 32DD wasnt bad... how wrong i was .

both Dex and DD were up and down in the night, so i am feeling rather fragile.

Bodders- i did quite an impressive xmas internet shop yesterday... have DS1 sorted... a new wii game and a swatch watch... DD i have got so far a rainbow aquadraw (cheapish on amazon) but need to think of something else ... also took dex out yesterday for first time since hospital and got some stocking pressies... i love stockings pressies.

fettle- i'm with u and the relaxed approach to routines etc... keep thinking i should attempt to put dex to bed earlier- but i enjoy having him up in the evening!

greedy- i reckon dex is smiling already like marcy did - 4 wks old?- it must be that they were both overdue and of course are exceptionally intelligent .

MrsMcJnr · 04/12/2007 12:53

Hey ladies sorry it has been a while, I seem to be frantic at home and at work at the mo just want to be on mat leave ? it all feels so disjointed with so many AN appointments and classes and holding down a day job at the same time. Plus the ladies from the classes are meeting up now and I can?t go yet oh well, 11 working days left and only 7 in the office and only 6 more 6am starts!!

Honeyapple ? so hope Dex is much, much better. Feeling very sad for the baby left alone all night crying congratulations to your SIL name?! how horrific about that baby dying makes my heart hurt. I was reading this week that prolonged diarrhoea can be down to HDN or liver disease.

Greedy ? wow, DS starting school can?t believe you might get an AF soon! Sounds like an idyllic Christmas lights ceremony even if it was stressful for you to get there sorry to hear about the shoe and Marcy?s face

Bodders ? hope the night feeds are getting further apart so glad to hear that you are seeing improvements, I hadn?t realised how hard it has been for you until last week I must get some bump shots mustn?t I? lovely photo of Isla (she is incredibly cute!!) sorry to tell you this but Chooster?s hair is looking really fab!

Chooster ? you have to show the girls the latest Theo ? he is soo adorable! BF councillor told us at NCT that you couldn?t take the pill if you are BF, is that true?? Fab pressie for Max!

Fettle ? glad the party went well have you got hot water now? Sorry about your neighbour. Some days when Beanie is kicking hard and I am excited about meeting him/her I forget all about the horrors of MC or what those wretched times felt like. I wish I could forget permanently though

Cityangel ? what a rollercoaster! So pleased about that beating heart beanie hope the bleed stops soon x

Hey Firsty ? re nursing bras, the BF councillor was crap on the subject at NCT she basically couldn?t entertain the idea that anyone would need a bra beyond a FF which is the largest you can get at NCT ? I told her I was a G/H now and she clearly didn?t believe me

Iampg so sorry about your car and that the woman is being a bitch and about DP being mean you wait, you?ll still look like Dolly Parton a few days after the birth! I have actually recently found a stretch mark it?s a diagonal one from my waist to mid bump on the left hand side about 4cms long, hey ho!

Rainbowdays ? don?t bother with NCT for a nursing bra then. Bravissimo do go up to an L though so you?ll be fine how are you feeling?

rainbowdays · 04/12/2007 13:38

MrsMc - it is ok, NCT DO go up to a K cup, that is where I get mine (the only place I can find a comfy one, - your breastfeeding councellor obviously knows nothing! I have tried Bravissimo ones but they all cut in, in the wrong places. But perhaps I will have to tolerate them in order to get my L cup if I need it while b/f-ing. Thanks for asking how I am feeling. I am actually feeling rough, I am aneamic and despite taking iron suppliments don't feel much better. I am hoping the midwife will give some advice on Thursday when I see her.

Got to get back to work again, limited time online these days.

honeyapple · 04/12/2007 14:33

Hi Mrs- you can take the mini pill- progesterone only pill (POP)- when you are BF... but you have to remember to take it at the same time everyday which is a bit of a mare! I took it after I had DD... but then moved onto the reliable withdrawal method- which did work for us for 3 yrs actually, until we decided to start TTC. Not sure DP will be so keen on that method now though, unless he doesnt mind the thought of another beanie!

DD is much livelier now- should be no problem with school and her nativity tommorrow.

iampgatlast · 04/12/2007 15:15

hi ladies

just back from my mw appointment, my mws are still not back on duty and so i explained to the mw that covered for them my concerns about leaving it so late to discuss HB. she said that they will not put me down for a hb officially until i am 37wks and that at my 36wk check they will discuss it with me then but to give them a call at 35 weeks to arrange a home visit.
Oscar is head down but mw said he is measuring on the small side but probably due to my bump being so compact and small which worried me a bit but when she looked through my notes she said he was growing normal for him as he has been small all the way along why didnt i get told this before?!
i have been getting so many comments about my bump being small when i say how far along i am but its obviously just the way i grow em

bodkin - whats all this about hair loss? no-one warned me of this? really pleased that you have noticed a difference in isla you must feel a lot more relaxed now lets hope it continues

mrsmcjnr - sorry your so busy at the moment - but not for much longer eh? you can so go out and lunch with the rest of the ladies from your AN classes! you have done well only getting one stretch mark! mine are just around my belly button in clusters about 1cm long but boy do they itch!!

honey - glad to hear dd has perked up a bit, hope you enjoy the nativity tomorrow! and little dex doesnt burp too loudly

dp is off today been throwing up all night and moaning his skin hurts - so i am playing nursey today just hope i dont catch it!!

i cant believe you are all so well endowed in the chest department - i have two little fried eggs roll on for when my milk comes in il have to make the most of them then!!

il update you on the car situation tomorrow. i am awaiting a call from her tonight - i am tempted to just tell her to forget it and il pay the repairs i cant deal with the stress at the moment and im worried she will try and claim off of my insurance for all the previous damage to her car as i have a massive excess onmine and cant afford to lose my no claims

honeyapple · 04/12/2007 19:04

iampg- dont worry about yr bump size- people drove me mad saying i was small... and i ended up with an 8lb 4 baby! i measured 37cm at 41 wks but as you say, just carried LO really compactly. And you will get big boobies when yr milk arrives! I was pre- kids 32B, went up to DD, but then went down to an A a yr after giving birth .

bodders- my hair is falling out all over the shop, driving me nuts. Cant wait for the re-growth , not.

Bodkin · 04/12/2007 21:37

Gosh is yours coming out already Honey? Don't think the fallout started for me until a few weeks ago, but boy is it making up for it. I go swimming on a Tuesday evening, and I;ve probably jsut blocked the filter at the pool showers!

Don't worry Iampg - what happens during pregnancy is that your body is so busy making baby, it puts things like growing hair on hold for a while. So normally what happens is new hair grows and pushes old hairs out. But because there is not much new hair growing, the old hair stays put throughout the pregnancy - hence thicker looking hair while pg. When the pg is over, the new hair starts growing again, and pushes all those old hairs that would normally have fallen out over the 9 months. Phew, does that make sense? Anyway, what
I'm trying to say is, don't worry, you wont be a baldy head but because all the new hair grows at the same time, you end up with a bit of a fuzz (especially if you're curly like me) for a few months until the new hairs are long enough to lie flat.

Also, like Honeyapple, i had a smallish bump, but a very average sized baby, so bump is really no indication of baby size

Mrs - hi, sounds like you're really busy, but I have to say PMSL at "only 6 more 6am starts".... you do remember you're having a baby don't you

Hi Rainbowy - sorry you're feeling rough - hopefully you can get some iron supplements to sort the anaemia out - it's knackering isn't it.

Bodkin · 04/12/2007 21:40

sorry, just reread your post - the supplements are not helping... hope midwife can help you out there.

greedygreedyguzzler · 04/12/2007 22:04

iampg - i just looked at your profile and remembered how young you are!!! you LUCKY LUCKY thing!! childbirth will be a piece of piss for you. the younger you are the easier it is meant to be, apparently our bodies are best able to cope with giving birth around 18yrs. i am SO jealous of your youth!!! wish i could look 21 again!! instead of the 101 that i look at the moment!!! and 10.30 lie ins??? oh my god!!! i am extra jealous!!

bodders - hair loss!!! i had forgotten too!! it was fab when i was pg and i could brush my hair without loads coming out! i forgot it all has to come out sometime!!! AND....your baby MAY burp the loudest and sound like a rugby player.....but does she LOOK like a rugby player, cos mine does!!!

wow fettle - that is a good sleep for little toby. marcy is doing 10.30 till 6.30 and thats good enough for me at the moment! she was a bit unsettled in her cot last night though and cried out a few times, but hopefully she will be more used to it tonight. so your dd is an angel hey, my ds is a shepherd, and i havent managed to get it out of dd1 what she is yet, but i think she is just confused about the whole thing really and doesn't have a clue what is going on!!! my ds's is next tue and dd1's the tue after. i am SO excited and i know i will cry (so will dd1 prob, but hopefully not dd2!!)

honey - i think early smiling is a GREAT thing!!! i feel like marcy hasn't stopped since she started!!! (apart from this morning of course when she screamed like a screaming thing when i was desperately trying to get the other 2 ready to go to nursery!) funny how i forget these things when its all peaceful and they are tucked up in bed!! mind you, i do worry that she is a bit simple cos she smiles at anything....... the ceiling, the window, the cooker, the door, herself in the mirror, even ds when he was crying today after falling over!! i love stocking presents too.....but this year i have left dh in charge of the stockings......so they could be interesting!!! (big mistake probably, but i have to trust him to do SOMETHING!!)

mrs - sorry, but i laughed too at " only 6 more 6am starts"!!!

bodders - i didn't know that was the reason for the hair thing! i always thought it was to do with having so much more blood pumping round your body, i just thought you grew more hair and i never really thought why it didnt fall out!!! well, you learn something new every day as my mum would say1!!

fettleandbabyfettle · 05/12/2007 08:07

I knew it was a one-off - Toby was up twice last night and once the night before that! But he didn't scream during DD's angelic moment [did you see what i did there?!]! It was very sweet, but I didn't cry - maybe i'm a heartless, souless woman. Poor DD looked utterly petrified though through parts of it! I wanted to run over and give her a big cuddle. I always thought she was quite confident, but obviously not. But she remembered her lines.

hope all the other nativities coming up go well - can't quite believe Christmas is so close now. not really feeling the spirit yet, despite the fact we've got our tree up, but we're going to ILs at the weekend for an early Christmas as we're spending real Christmas with my parents and then the Mary, Joseph & Jesus moment the following weekend!. so maybe i'll be feeling Christmassy after all that!

Mrs - don;t you listen to them - you've got a good 2-3 weeks without 6am starts to look forward to!!! (then 3-5 years of 6.30am starts!!).

Rainbowy - sorry you're feeling so rough. I was anemic throughout this whole pg, but when taking the tablets i did feel better tiredness wise, but they made me feel so sick and with an upset stomach that I didn't stick them for long. Ate spinach and red meat instead! how long you away from home for still? Hope you getting home in good time for Christmas? Will you have to be away in the New Year too?

No hair loss here yet - in fact going to have to book a hair cut as still looking a bit shaggy.

Must get DD ready for school - have good days all.

oh BTW Greedy - I think Toby is simple as he doesn't really smile very much, just stares blankly around the room. But when he does smile it's so amazing! Probably because he reserves them for important people and places (he loves a picture in his room which says TOBY in big letters - just can't stop smiling at it, when I'm changing him, so I think he likes his name!!!)

marcy has slept loads today so i am prob in for a shit night too and when she has been awake she has been 'arsey marcy' rather than 'angelic marcy' so i havent really minded her sleeping loads! my other two have been arsey today too!!! lots of tears for no reason. they both have colds and it seems to be affecting them even more than normal. my dd1 had just got back to being lovely again after her last cold and her behaviour was back to normal. i hate winter!!! (apart from xmas of course!!)

glad the nativity went well fettle. my ds hasn't got any lines to remember, they are just singing the story! dd1 will be doing similar too. honey - you have got the oldest children (and the youngest!!)......what age do they stop doing nativity plays?

just eaten masses of chocolate! so much for losing weight before xmas!!! i will prob have gained another stone by then!

fettleandbabyfettle · 05/12/2007 17:50

sorry girls - sounding board alert!!

I'm tired and pissed off with having to carry pans of boiling water upstairs to fill baths for the children..... AND I was going to jump in their water when they were finished and DH was home as I feel really scummy, but he's just rung to say that he has stay late at work! i know it's not his fault hence my venting my frustration at you all!!!

hope you all had better days.

sorry marcy is being arsey, Greedy!
