Omg who had the first baby !! Did I miss it ?

Thank you everyone - the raspberry tea is just so gross For me I try and drink it. Been eating dates.

My friend downed caster oil in her last few days but I’m too scared feel like thats really unsafe.

Will look into clary sage .

I still need to pick my hospital bag - just feel like if I pick it baby will decide to come even later. I have opted for a water bath - I plan on taking one bikini that should be fine right?

AutumnBabyWinterMummy · 18/09/2020 10:03

@bluemoon2468 oh really 🤦‍♀️ my midwife totally scared me off it! She said don't use until you're in actual labour, but then I thought what's the point in that!

@Zaalfruit I think one bikini should be fine, I've just packed the one

Quiffy · 18/09/2020 10:22

@MsSian93 ahhh so exciting, good luck ❤️

@saiditbetterthanme welcome! How have you been getting on? Do you know what you’re having?

@Zaalfruit I take the raspberry tea tablets, they’re horrible big tablets but much nicer than the tea for me

Treacle81 · 18/09/2020 10:43

Morning girls, yea it sucks but just need to go on with it! @MsSian93 sounds like you are next!! Best of luck and keep us posted ❤️ @Zaalfruit yea @MrsD1990 had a baby boy 💙 you know what they say is best for starting labour, that 3 letter word I've forgotten about 😏 I am also too s ares to go near my nipples lol. @Buzz22 yea you have been even worse than me with the heartburn 😢 @saiditbetterthanme Wel one my love 😊. Honest opinion please girls, still to put a bra on but does this look OK or do I look daft lol? Not had a dress on in so long, it's maternity but never liked material. Out for lunch with girls, sun is out so thought I'd try it and see... opinions very much appreciated xx

Treacle81 · 18/09/2020 10:44

Welcome @saiditbetterthanme !!

It’s my last day of work and I have so much to do. It’s unbelievable and so unfair. I won’t finish at 5.30 :(

otterbaby · 18/09/2020 12:27

@saiditbetterthanme welcome! Not long to go now!

@MsSian93 ooo good luck tomorrow! You'll have to come report back 😊

@Treacle81 you look great, and so tan!!

I'm absolutely fuming. I've been speaking with my work to get my maternity pay sorted and they've just tried to tell me that because I was furloughed during my qualifying weeks, my mat pay is going to be less. Pretty sure this is illegal and must be based on my usual pay. Trying to ring ACAS now!

StrawberrySprinkles · 18/09/2020 12:46

@otterbaby Pretty sure thats illegal! Just looked at the gov website on this and its pretty clear "Furloughed workers planning to take paid parental or adoption leave will be entitled to pay based on their usual earnings rather than a furloughed pay rate, the government announced today (24 April)."

www.gov.uk/government/news/furloughed-workers-to-receive-full-parental-leave-entitlement

Hopefully you can get it all sorted, but what a pain!

otterbaby · 18/09/2020 12:51

@StrawberrySprinkles it's certainly not helping my bloody oxytocin levels 😭 so annoying!

Spark27 · 18/09/2020 13:01

Just back from the scan. All measuring fine. Baby is approx 6lbs 12oz and on the 30th centile. The sonographer said I was just good at hiding the baby. She also said no wonder the movements are so painful as my belly is all baby.
So the wait is still on. 9 days til EDD. x

Treaclepie19 · 18/09/2020 13:18

Hi all!
Just been to see the midwife for my 36 week appointment (I'm 37+2 but had to rearrange it).
All looks fine. Baby is no more engaged than last time though.
Got some reassurance about labour at least. A waterbirth may still be possible on delivery suite 😊
Got another appointment next week!

Glad all was well @Spark27!!

Off to read back properly.

@Treacle81 love the dress, you look fab

@Treaclepie19 ahh I just came back from mine aswel. Did you go through your birth plan in this appt. Midwife briefly went through mine and its the last time ill be seeing her. She said baby is very low down and suggested I ask for a sweep on Tuesday before my induction on Saturday.

Welcome @saiditbetterthanme x

MrsK89 · 18/09/2020 13:48

Thank you @Quiffy midwife said the same, the force might have just torn my throat a bit. Was quite a powerful sick but I'm feeling a lot better today

Treaclepie19 · 18/09/2020 13:50

@MrsK89 nope no birth plan discussion! I just asked about it because I was concerned.
I briefly discussed it over the phone last time so I think they think I'm sorted but it's all changed since then as I'm not allowed on MLU. I'm not too fussed because I've uploaded it so it's sorted really.
I've got an appointment next week and then not sure about after that. It says online 38, 40, 41 but 40 is only for first time parents.
We'll see!

OP posts:
MrsK89 · 18/09/2020 14:22

@Treaclepie19 ahh I see. I hope you do get your water birth and enjoy it for me aswel! I was really hoping I would get to have one this time round but I guess it wasn't meant to be. What are restrictions like in your hospital?
In ours I've been told I'll be on the ward in my own, soon as I'm in delivery suite DH can come in and leave just before I'm transferred back to the ward.

Spark27 · 18/09/2020 14:28

Lovely dress @Treacle81. Looking great x

Welcome to the group @saiditbetterthanme. x

My mw has said they'll see me at 40w even though it's my 2nd baby. But given how my appts fall it wont be til I'm 40+4. Where I am they dont do sweeps until 41w, so she said they can book me in again for 41w for a sweep. Otherwise I'd have to wait til 41+4 and that limits chances of having more than 1 before induction. I'm obviously hoping I'll go naturally before, but who knows x

Treaclepie19 · 18/09/2020 16:07

Thank you @MrsK89, sorry you're not able to have one 😔
Currently as far as I know its still partners allowed in when 4cm dilated and leave soon after birth. Visiting is for one 3hr slot per day that you choose from two options.

My hospital is in an area in local lockdown though so who knows how things will go.

OP posts:
MrsK89 · 18/09/2020 17:29

@Treaclepie19 same here, we are in Merseyside and doesn't seem like my mum will be able to see the baby 😔

Treaclepie19 · 18/09/2020 17:32

I'm so sorry @MrsK89 😔
I'd swap with you if I could. Though my hospital is in a lockdown area, we live on the boundary so I could actually see people if I wanted to. We're keeping to ourselves for a while though.

AutumnBabyWinterMummy · 18/09/2020 18:05

@Zaalfruit hope you get through all the work soon!

@otterbaby I don't know the rules about furlough and qualifying week but it's really annoying they have only just seen it now this late on.

@Spark27 glad everything is all ok!
