Oh I wonder if this will be the thread where babies are born how exciting!

Congratulations @SkyBlue20 !

SkyBlue20 · 19/08/2020 18:25

Thanks everyone 🥰 I've learnt so much from keeping up with this thread - feel like you've prepared me for pregnancy 😂

AutumnBabyWinterMummy · 19/08/2020 18:34

@SkyBlue20 don't feel like a stalker at all 😂 I've been following the August due date thread because I wanted to hear about their births and going into labour etc, whilst not commenting so also felt like a bit of a stalker there too 😂 x

otterbaby · 19/08/2020 18:49

@AutumnBabyWinterMummy that's a really good idea! Off to find it now Grin

CharlieBalf · 19/08/2020 19:00

Wow another thread!
Congratulations @SkyBlue20 you must be so happy, nervous but happy.

I feel like baby has been a little quiet recently - definitely moving about but maybe not as much? I know it gets more difficult to feel as baby get larger but unsure if it warrants a call to triage?

Buzz22 · 19/08/2020 19:03

@SkyBlue20 so pleased for you! Do keep us up to date! Xx

@CharlieBalf definitely worth ringing triage and seeing what they advise.
From what I've read baby should carry on moving even when they get bigger. It's a myth that they 'run out of room'
Dont worry about calling them. It's what they are there for

Treaclepie19 · 19/08/2020 19:04

I may have excited you all for nothing... the last thread only ran for a month so doubtful we will have many births in this one 🙈

@CharlieBalf I'd give them a call. They'll either reassure you or call you in. If you're thinking it's reduced then best to check.

@AutumnBabyWinterMummy @otterbaby genius idea! I'm going to have a look too 😂

Zaalfruit · 19/08/2020 21:30

@SkyBlue20 omg !! Great news !! Please keep in touch and sending you lots of positive vibes .

@Treaclepie19 thank you for creating the thread .

I am laying on the floor now thinking about packing my bags - even writing a list - feels like a big task. I have grown huge in the last 2 weeks - anyone else had a random growth ?

Thanks ladies.... Its so hard to know if its just me not noticing or is actually reduced movement. Triage were were very helpful and dodint think it sounded like a change in movement.

AutumnBabyWinterMummy · 19/08/2020 21:39

@otterbaby @MrsD1990 Thanks 😂 I just wanted to see what was to come!

@Zaalfruit yes I felt that a few weeks ago! Some weeks I put on quite a lot of weight and other weeks nothing so I think it's all down to growth spurts!

bluemoon2468 · 19/08/2020 22:07

Thanks for the new thread! Can't believe some of the babies could be born on this one! Seems like a minute ago I joined the very first thread at only a few weeks pregnant!

@SkyBlue20 amazing news about your pregnancy! Can't wait to hear how it progresses 💕

MrsK89 · 19/08/2020 23:48

Regarding hospital bag. I've packed all baby stuff and some underwear and pads for myself and the bag is full.
I think I'm expecting to go home in my underwear 😂

EllieGolightly · 20/08/2020 00:00

Hi all

I have been following along the whole time. Just a bit shy, but it's been great seeing I'm reaching all the same milestones, and in a weird way hearing your grumbles and worries has been reassuring too, haha.

All going well apart from the gestational diabetes, but I'm managing with a little bit of overnight insulin and a diet overhaul. It has been nice to have fortnightly scans, silver lining.

Bambino is breech, and I'm secretly hoping she doesn't move so I can just go for ELCS and not have all the unknowns with induction! If she does engage I'll be induced anywhere from 37 weeks, if she stays breech they'll plan CS for 39 weeks, so countdown is well and truly on 4-6 weeks she'll be here!

bluemoon2468 · 20/08/2020 05:47

@MrsK89 I tried to back a bag and have ended up upgrading to a full blown (cabin sized) suitcase 🙈 Might look a bit of an idiot when we turn up but there was no way it was all going to fit in a bag or even two!

Treacle81 · 20/08/2020 07:53

Morning girls, oh looks like @EllieGolightly might have the first baby, so exciting, good to hear from you. I also at times secretly wish he may flip to breach for that same reason 🤫🤭. The 'unknown' just freaks me out. I am working out today girls, it's happening straight after I post this. Last few days have been tough, physically and emotionally and I just know I'll feel better afterwards 😊💪. Heard our pools should open next month but there is an update today so maybe sooner. I really miss my morning swim so fingers crossed xx

BntTowers · 20/08/2020 08:29

@EllieGolightly you aren't alone with your GD, I have it too and so does @herondaleducks. Yesterday I was told I'm going to start taking metformin to keep my fasting numbers down as they have been high since I started testing a week ago. I don't see the consultant again for another 4 week which feels ages away! Do have a midwife appointment tomorrow but not sure how much she will say about it all. The unknowns of induction scare me too, I don't want to be by myself for so long in hospital.

Quiffy · 20/08/2020 08:38

@Treaclepie19 Thank you for new thread

kate909 · 20/08/2020 09:19

Hi all 😊 A bit late to the thread but I'm due 4th October!

Quiffy · 20/08/2020 09:43

@kate909 welcome! How have you been getting on? Do you know what you're having? Im due a boy on Oct 5th :)

SkyBlue20 · 20/08/2020 09:46

[quote Quiffy]@Treaclepie19 Thank you for new thread

Quiffy · 20/08/2020 10:08

@SkyBlue20 It was the pregnant after MMC one - I saw your name as the last poster and was like YAASSS. Clearly too nosey hehe.

Our hospital is one of the less strict atm. Partners allowed at appointments and scans - DH got to go to his first NHS scan for my 32 week gs but he was a bit shocked at how different it is to fancy private ones haha - and allowed 2 birthing partners for est labour. One birthing partner can stay for 2 hours after birth and other an hour. After that it's only one visitor for 30mins a day (which is the pishy bit you'd think if they're allowing visitors you'd get at least an hour). I agree it's silly that if you're same household you're both likely to have. Hopefully yours eases up a bit soon, it's very frustrating

Treaclepie19 · 20/08/2020 10:26

Our hospital are strict with it. No partners for scans or appointments at all. Partner is allowed with you in active labour only and leaves after. Then they have two slots for visiting and you have to choose which one they will come for.
Its not really bothering me simply because we have to sort childcare anyway (and don't have a lot of support) so its easier the decision being out of our hands. I just hope he gets to be at the birth.
Im not too bothered being alone. I've been in the hospital enough times now to be pretty detached to it all I think.
