Got a call from the hospital and they've managed to fit me in for a scan at lunchtime tomorrow. Hoping they dont want to/need to induce me, but obvs I'll go with whatever is best for baby. Got a very wriggly baby though. Belly feels like it's all limbs, and she keeps hooking a foot under my ribs so it's so uncomfortable. Fortunately DH is working from home tomorrow so he can have DD. I'm also hoping he might let me sleep in if I have another terrible night.

@Treacle81 I was going to get an eyelash lift, but decided to go for the pedi in case I couldn't reach them myself 😅. I think I'll go for a lash lift in the future though. Let me know how yours goes and if it's worth it x

justanothermamma · 17/09/2020 19:34

@BntTowers It's the DREAM house, hopefully ours will be on Rightmove tomorrow and we'll make an offer on this one tomorrow morning after a chat tonight once DD is in bed. We tried all the old wives tales last time, walks and sex were most effective in making me have tightenings!

@Treacle81 Gosh really? We've been seeing all types of patients since June as we managed ti get PPE early on, but a lot in our area are still emergency only due to shortages! I hate actually seeing the dentist though, feels so much worse if you need any work done when you work there, like you should know better 🙈😂.

I'm in desperate need of lashes and nails doing, just need to figure out when is best! I want to feel a little bit pampered and nice. I didn't bother last time and I looked like death in all the pictures, I actually want to look like I have my shit together this time. X

HerondaleDucks · 17/09/2020 22:00

So I think yesterday was a bit of a false alarm. The period type cramp is still present on and off but nothing more than that.

I think it was the long walk that helped move him further down cause I'm definitely feeling more pressure lower down. He's as wriggly as ever though.
I have a growth scan and DR appt on Tuesday so hopefully will find out more of what's going on then.

I've done some yoga to encourage labour tonight, so hope that helps.

@MrsD1990 that's so amazing. I'm glad everything went well and your husband was present. What a lovely story!!

@BntTowers you are doing so well, I hope you don't have to go on insulin this close to the end! Exciting to have an induction date tonight! My fingers are crossed for you!

@Spark27 Really dreading the idea of having sex to get things going... but I'm sure my DH would love it lol

MrsK89 · 17/09/2020 22:57

Good luck for tomorrow @Spark27, hopefully will be fine. My little man is on the 3rd centile but as he's kind of followed the chart they aren't worried but I'm going for another scan on Tuesday.
I'm dreading the induction as I hated my 1st birth with the drip, but kind of have to go with the flow.

@HerondaleDucks haha DH wanted to last night but I convinced him to wait till the weekend as I really dont want to labour in the evening when the kids have school in the morning haha. Not like I have much choice in when baby will come

Getting a few tightenings tonight and backache but nothing too painful

HerondaleDucks · 17/09/2020 23:06

Is it the orgasm part of sex that gets it going or him orgasming or the motion in the ocean?

blankiesandunicorns · 17/09/2020 23:17

@HerondaleDucks I think it's the semen does something to your cervix, and orgasm releasing oxytocin but could be wrong!

@Spark27 good luck for your scan tomorrow I'm sure all will be fine! I'm having scans for big baby so we're at opposite ends of the scale but they do like to keep an eye on them if they're not exactly where they want them!

justanothermamma · 17/09/2020 23:53

@HerondaleDucks I think the sperm has more of an effect inducing labour than just an orgasm does. When I was nearly due with DD I think it was the most sex I'd ever had, I was so determined to get her out, ha! SPD has made it tricky this time as finding a comfy position is super difficult.

@MrsK89 Can you tell me a bit about your experience of induction? I had a natural birth last time which was 4 hours start to finish so I'm wary of being induced this time as most of my friends were all in labour for days with it (it was all of their first baby's though, so it's hard to suss out).

Good luck @Spark27, hope all goes okay tomorrow! X

Spark27 · 18/09/2020 00:41

Thanks ladies. I'm not too fussed about baby as shes being so active, and I'm not worried if shes on the smaller side. I'm just hoping the cord flow and fluid levels are fine. I feel like if theres any issues with these that's what they'll want to induce me for. Not against being induced again, but as it's my last pregnancy I kind of wanted to see if I could go into labour naturally (silly I know, as baby will come as and when she wants) and I'm still mentally expecting to have another week or so left.

Having a really broken night so far. Came to bed early and have managed 2 separate hours sleep. Woken up with really bad heartburn. It's making me feel so sick, and babys movements are so strong. Having to hold my sides together and will her to calm down.

I was induced last time @justanothermumma. I didnt mind it, but it did take a long time. I think that depends on how ready your body is though, and mine was not. The drip makes the contractions really strong, but I had an epidural (and would have done anyway). Being stuck with the catheter afterwards for a bit is a pain, but once it was out I was weeing normally and fine.

MrsK89 · 18/09/2020 02:00

@justanothermamma I had to be induced 1st baby as there was a bit of blood on my pad when I went into triage. I was 37+5 so most probably baby wasn't really ready.
It was the drip I didn't like, as I literally went in the hospital with no pains then as soon as I had the drip placed in it was intense straight away and I felt no control whatsoever. Again this could be because 1st baby so very unaware of anything. And they do suggest taking something stronger than gas and air, which I didn't. I ended up having an episiotomy and forceps delivery.
Since then ive had 2 very short spontaneous labour's at 38 weeks with no intervention. Midwife did say an induction after having a normal delivery is a lot different to induction with 1st baby though, so please don't let me put you off.

I have just woke up with terrible heartburn and projectile vomited. Has this happened with anyone? I had my eyes closed through most of it (was in the bathroom with the light on) as seeing the sick makes me even more sick lol. But I opened my eyes at the end when a tiny bit was coming out and it did look like blood. Maybe it was the force of the vomit. No idea but I can't sleep now 😑

Spark27 · 18/09/2020 02:39

@MrsK89 I'm awake with terrible heartburn too. Not vomited, but it was touch and go at the beginning. Got DH to get me the gaviscon as I knew if I moved or lowered my head to look in the cupboard I would vom. Had to force some gaviscon down. Been awake with it for 2hrs now. It's a bit better, but every 10mins or so I keep getting a really bad pain in the back of my chest which I think is still the heartburn.

Hopefully you feel better soon and its just the force of the vomiting that did it. While I dont feel ready for labour yet I am very ready to not be pregnant anymore. Even a week and a half if I get to 40w seems like a struggle, let alone if I go over.

MrsK89 · 18/09/2020 02:45

@Spark27 is the gaviscon helping? I might have to get some tomorrow. This heartburn is ridiculous. Everytime I put my head down I can feel it coming up and my bed is near enough upright now.
Definitely feel you on the done with the pregnancy. I am just exhausted and fed up and I really want to sleep lol

Treacle81 · 18/09/2020 06:37

@MrsK89 @Spark27 Oh girls sorry to hear you are not sleeping and getting heartburn/sickness. Omeprazole has saved me, honestly, had No heartburn since started taking it and dint even take it every day. I was downing bottles of Peptac. Get onto doc n get it prescribed, you will not regret it! Been up all night with this damn cold, thought it was getting better yest day as managed to go a walk etc, first time since Mon but no its worse than ever, given me stinking headache and also feel v sick now with it 😢. A friend said that she had a cold right before she gave birth!!! That's the 9th baby due in Oct been born on my FB group that I'm sure some of you are in, so exciting!!! Some of the babies as born early are on the sun lamps, mum's are struggling to feed etc so we've all been supportive and they seem to be getting benefit from it which is great! What will we do afterwards, stay on this or maybe transfer to a whatsapp group? @HerondaleDuck I'm opposite lol, I'll not be trying out the old wives tales till after my sweep on the 1st. As due in Oct, as soon as that hits I'll be doing everything lol. That's my friend 1 week overdue now bless her! I'm meeting girls for my maternity leave lunch then my son for a walk as meant to be nice weather here today. Not seen him in weeks so we are both looking forward to it. Just need to try get some more sleep! Good luck with scan today❤️ @Spark27 and best of luck with house @justanothermamma 🏡🤞xx

HerondaleDucks · 18/09/2020 06:48

He has moved in the night.... he is right in my lower tummy crotch area. Getting up out of bed during the night for wees was almost painful there is that much pressure going on down there.
I feel like a penguin this morning. So uncomfortable.

AutumnBabyWinterMummy · 18/09/2020 07:49

I'm in the heartburn club too, especially in the middle of the night. I just keep Rennies by the side of the bed now which actually seem to work for me. Waking up too many times for the toilet or in such pain with my spd and backache. Only 37 weeks on Monday but so ready for her to come.

@Treacle81 ah sounds horrible the cold, not what you want on top of being heavily pregnant!! X

BntTowers · 18/09/2020 08:07

@justanothermamma fingers crossed for your dream house.

@herondaleducks they've decided no to insulin for now as things are suppose to settle after 36 weeks so I'm hoping that's it now.
Baby moved for me yesterday morning during the scan I have feet up in my ribs which is really painful.
I had a first try at colostrum harvesting last night, I surprised myself that a fair few drops came out, not enough to actually gather anything but makes me more hopeful that I'll be able to get something 🤞
@Treacle81 a cold this late on sounds awful I hope it clears up soon. A WhatsApp group sounds good.
Sorry to all those with heartburn at the moment. I just can't seem to find the energy to get up this morning, my legs are aching too much, far too much walking yesterday.

booroo · 18/09/2020 08:10

Urghh @Treacle81 I feel
For you my reception child has brought home
A cold and kindly shared it with me 🙈 38 weeks pregnant is definitely not the best time to have a cold I've decided!!
With everyone complaining of the pressure below if I stand up to fast from
Sitting its enough to pause me in my tracks it's so painful like bone on bone 😱 and I have to kind of slowly move to upright.
Good luck with your scan @Spark27 sure she's just following her dainty line (that's what mines done throughout just not as big as others lol) hope the cord, fluid and flows ok my little madam thought it funny to grab and wave the cord around as they did the flow reading sonographer was not amused lol xx

Buzz22 · 18/09/2020 08:14

I'm totally fed up with heartburn. I was prescribed omeprazole pretty early on but it doesnt seem to help much. I take it in the morning but immediately have heartburn and then have to wait 2 hours before having any gaviscon. Heartburn also still wakes me up during the night so I'm constantly swigging gaviscon then too!
I guess it has helped as the acid reflux was making me vomit before, but the agony and burning in my chest and throat is still there.
@MrsK89 Yes my heartburn was awful before omeprazole and I was vomiting pure stomach acid! Like I said I guess it has helped in a sense but I'm definitely still suffering with reflux symptoms.

Good luck with the scan @Spark27
@mamamemmmer good luck with the house! Ours has been on the market for a few months now and we havent been able to view any properties till we have an offer on ours. Seems agents in different areas have different rules. Selling houses is so stressful at the best of times, let alone when heavily pregnant!

Zaalfruit · 18/09/2020 08:27

Hey - how is everyone just catching up on here . Been feeling a bit meh at this point of pregnancy just don’t feel like interacting - ( acid reflux and out of no where I just feel
Hungry constantly ) - tried to get some help from Nhs about feeling meh but on a waiting list .

Good luck to those that have scans booked and planned c sections and inductions - I have no clue what is going on - baby doesn’t seem ready at all just giving me heart burns and mini heart attacks when not moving. Roll on October 1st please !!

Anyone have any tips on how to get baby evicted and into my arms .

Well done to those that have successfully collected colostrum- I am to scared to squeeze my boobs they just feel sore.

On the upside - I start 7 days of holidays and then maternity leave.

MsSian93 · 18/09/2020 08:46

Hi ladies just checking in!

How exciting that the first baby has been born! I've been trying every trick in the book for the last 2 weeks and nothing! Going in tomorrow morning at 39 weeks for my induction. Hoping baby cooperates and doesn't make me wait too long! So ready for him to be out now!

Quiffy · 18/09/2020 08:49

@Treacle81 hope your cold gets better!

@MrsD1990 so glad you got checked! Bloody midwives. Hopefully you get home soon

@BntTowers this definitely seems like the slowest bit waiting now

@Spark27 good luck with scan today!

@justanothermamma ahhh fingers crossed for the house

@MrsK89 I've had a little red in the end before from sick, think it's your throat being irritated. Hope you're feeling a bit better

@Zaalfruit I find that sore boob squeezing can ease the pain a little. Just watch out for curtains. Hope you're okay ❤️

HerondaleDucks · 18/09/2020 09:09

@MsSian93 how exciting for you. Good luck for tomorrow
@Spark27 hope the scan goes ok

saiditbetterthanme · 18/09/2020 09:13

Hello, I've just found this thread, is it too late to join? Currently 37+4. Loved hearing about all your journeys!

HerondaleDucks · 18/09/2020 09:17

@saiditbetterthanme I don't think it's ever too late to join... unless you've already had your baby lol!

AutumnBabyWinterMummy · 18/09/2020 09:28

@Zaalfruit sorry you're not feeling great. I've heard raspberry leaf tea, dates and clary sage oil (not too sure about the oil how safe it is before you're in actual labour as heard it's so strong so maybe look into first). That's exciting about no more work!

@MsSian93 hope all goes well for you tomorrow, just think you'll have baby really soon!

@saiditbetterthanme no, never too late! Welcome! X

bluemoon2468 · 18/09/2020 09:49

@AutumnBabyWinterMummy I've been using clary sage in a variety of ways (diffuser, massage oil, bath oil) since 34 weeks and I'm still pregnant, so it's not that strong 😆
