Hey all! So I officially got my BFP last night, which puts me at 3weeks 3 days (I have another app telling me I'm at 4weeks 4 days) and I am due between 2nd and 8th May ❤️ I already feel super nauseous, and this will be baby number 3 (our last for sure). I was just wondering if anyone on here wanted to share this journey together - husband is brilliant but doesn't believe you can get nausea this quickly and I'm not close enough to my family to tell them just yet ☹️ so it might be a lonely journey for a little while x

@hollywhooo, yay! Hello!

@Nurserycottages, I bought a CD and book, this one*. I found the best part of it the guided meditation, which really helped me focus in the Labour itself (which was useful as up until 2 mins before the head, the paramedics hadn’t even arrived and when they did, they hadn’t seen a birth before!). There’s also a meditation that helps with the bonding process. You can do groups/courses for it, but at the time I didn’t have the money to go down that route. I definitely want to do it again as it helped me trust my body to find it’s birthing position and stay calm.

@Cafeaulait27, congratulations! Glad it went well!

@Sansa87, really hope all goes well. Try not to panic, it’s normal for ladies not to have many/any symptoms at all. Remember, some women get barely any symptoms and give birth without having known they were pregnant (an extreme, but I know of someone who had this). It can be an anxious time, but try to surround yourself with things you enjoy as much as possible.

Hi all, could I check on how you all calculate how many weeks + days pregnant you are? I ask as different things are giving me different numbers!
My date of the first day of LMP was 17 Aug. My app (and some online calculators) says 6+2. However, the First Response calculator says 5+2 (And that's what you'd get if you count the completed weeks).
So, how is it done?
Really appreciate you helping with my confusion!

Babamamasheep · 22/09/2020 07:07

Hi ladies hope I’m not too late to join, I’m 5+5 due May 19th. Had a scan at EPU yesterday after a threatened miscarriage and bleeding but baby no.2 was in there with a strong heartbeat Grin

leftitlate37 · 22/09/2020 07:39

Congrats @Babamamasheep what a relief after a worrying time...how r u doing? So relieved for u!
@Ickli I think u go off date of LMP itll be 5 weeks not 6 as I'm the week before u....but hey, I know nothing! Learning as I go! Congrats anyway :)
How is everyone else today? I'm feeling good today, only slightly sore boobs and less tired despite not sleeping great, so clearly I'm stressing myself out now ....never realised these weeks would be so hard.

Babamamasheep · 22/09/2020 07:50

@leftitlate37 I’m okay, worried about telling work as when I go off next time I’ll have only been back a year. Not sure it’s going to go down well Sad

ScottishLassie91 · 22/09/2020 08:15

@leftitlate37 not too bad thanks! Nausea, sickness and fatigue really starting to kick my butt, ended up having to cancel meetings for work yesterday as was ill 🤢 I eventually told my boss yesterday, was really apprehensive, but was so unwell and thankfully she was amazing about it and told me not too worry and to work from home so I'm not making myself more unwell running about.
How you doing today? X

bethseren · 22/09/2020 09:28

Hi all, how is everyone doing today?
I'm actually feeling a little better - but then my silly mind makes me think this isn't a good sign and makes me worry!
Really can't wait till my 12 week scan.

TheDaydreamBelievers · 22/09/2020 11:13

@bethseren hello! I'm only justttt pregnant and have 0 symptoms apart from being a little belchy (glamorous!), tiny bit crampy, and insomnia this morning (awake 5am!). Feeling anxious for this wee egg to stick and stay.

ScottishLassie91 · 22/09/2020 11:24

Anyone else worried about their weight? May seem so silly but I'm overweight ( actually think my BMI puts me just in the obese range Blush )
I had started eating better but didn't think I'd fall pregnant straight away!
Now I'm worried about the additional problems it might cause and also the fact that the past few days all I've wanted to eat is jam donuts!!

iloveyoubutilovememore · 22/09/2020 11:30

Really struggling here. 8 weeks today due 4/5th may not 100%. Still working three days and have just told my colleagues because it’s been hard putting on a brave face when actually I permanently feel rubbish.

Also what is this needing to eat constantly feeling to aid the nausea but then feel extremely bloated at the same time so not wanting to eat anything else?! Wahhhhh

bethseren · 22/09/2020 11:31

@ScottishLassie91I'm really worried about this. I had already put on weight during lockdown and my BMI is in the obese range too. I thought i'd lose a bit of weight in the first trimester but currently all I can eat is plain carbs which is causing me to massively bloat. I'm just trying to focus on not worrying about food / how my body looks, but its so difficult.

bethseren · 22/09/2020 11:33

@iloveyoubutilovememore this is honestly exactly how I feel and I'm just over 8 weeks. generally struggling, and needing to constantly eat not to feel sick but so bloated !

TheDaydreamBelievers · 22/09/2020 11:41

@bethseren @ScottishLassie91 I'm in the overweight range and was trying to lose weight. Didn't expect to fall pregnant this fast because although I've been off the pill 6mo, I have only had 1 period in that time! But oh well, I think all I can do is eat healthily whenever I can. Appreciate that's so hard when needing to eat bland carbs but I was thinking I could buy plain Nairns oat crackers? They are pretty healthy-ish?

ScottishLassie91 · 22/09/2020 11:51

@bethseren @TheDaydreamBelievers glad I'm not the only one!
Honestly, I wouldn't thank you for a bit of chocolate right now but I'm the same, I'll gladly eat my way through a loaf of bread! Though I do love some nairns oat crackers as well :)

Its so hard to not worry too much, especially being early on.
I called my midwife for some advice and she said to just try and eat a balanced diet but did recommend slimming world as well saying that was good as they've worked with midwives to make sure pregnant women can follow it and its to stop you gaining too much. Think I'll give it a go as I done it before when I wasn't pregnant x

NRDoss · 22/09/2020 12:15

@Cafeaulait27 awww so glad to hear about your scan! Hearing a heartbeat is a strong sign that everything is proceeding in the right direction.

@Sansa87 try not to worry, I know it is hard but things dont always have to be the same like last time, and for some symptoms get fluctuate a bit for a week and gets back again the next week. So, I can understand your anxiety, try to take one day at a time Smile

Welliedays · 22/09/2020 14:06

@bethseren @thedaydreambelievers @scottishlassie91 I'm not overweight so can't comment on that, but I normally exercise quite alot which keeps my weight down, but I haven't had the energy to recently so I'm trying to keep eating relatively healthy instead. I think I'm probably eating less, even if what I am eating is more unhealthy, so hoping it balances out somehow 🤷🏼‍♀️ I'm also trying to make sure I drink loads so that I know if I'm hungry I'm defs hungry and not just thirsty! I can't stay away from crisps at the moment but then I'm not feeling like chocolate, so hoping I'm not doing too much damage. It's so hard isn't it!

Smile03 · 22/09/2020 14:22

Hi,

Am I okay to join this thread? I got my BFP on Saturday and have worked out my due date to be the 14.05.21.
I am really nervous I had a previous pregnancy in Jan 19 which ended in a miscarriage at week 10, with that pregnancy I had a loss of appeptite and really bad sickness however this time I feel nothing literally no symptoms which is scaring me tbh. I have slight cramps on my lower left side and that’s it.
If it wasn’t for AF not arriving on time I would never have known i’m pregnant.

ScottishLassie91 · 22/09/2020 15:01

@Welliedays its so difficult! I feel my tastes are all over the place at the moment and some days I'm so hungry I feel I cant stop eating!
I'm trying my best to plan out all my meals so it'll be balanced and just going to start walking more and combine with yoga.
Hopefully the damage wont be too bad then! x

Bouncycastle12 · 22/09/2020 15:09

Uuuurgh. I’m 4+4 and am already so knackered. Is that even possible?! Or just psychosomatic? I remember being shattered with DD but didn’t think it started this early??!

leftitlate37 · 22/09/2020 15:37

@Bouncycastle12 wondering exact same! Is this overwhelming afternoon tiredness just like the normal post lunch slump or what?! I could literally go to bed and sleep but thinking well, could I do that normally?! I'd give it a good go! Also feeling unenthused to exercise but maybe am just looking for an excuse?

ScottishLassie91 · 22/09/2020 16:08

@Bouncycastle12, I've been the exact same basically since I implanted. A good few nights I've been ready for bed at 6pm and have even fell asleep at my desk a few times! Never been so tired before. Went out a walk on Sunday and came back in and fell asleep on the couch! x

Littlebee1990 · 22/09/2020 16:36

Had some pain and was sent for an early scan and I’m so worried. I’m measuring between 5.5-6 weeks (as expected) and they found a yolk sak and a baby however she told me that the heartbeat is lower than they’d like to see, could MC in next 2 weeks.. want me back for another scan in 2 weeks. I’m petrified 😩

Whilstwewait · 22/09/2020 17:34

@Littlebee1990 aw im sorry. Must have been awful. Try not to panic. I know a lot of places don't even expect to see a heart beat before 6 weeks. Did they actually say you could miscarry in the next 2 weeks? Praying everything is ok for you ❤

Beepbeep42 · 22/09/2020 17:38

@littlebee1990 sorry to hear this, what a scary and upsetting time for you. I really don't know what to say! Are you working? Can you hibernate and rest?

@ScottishLassie91 I put on an insane amount of weight my last pregnancy so yup, with you. BMI just tipped into overweight following lockdown (and stayed!) So not best place to start but ach, it can be lost after so no point stressing too much. Nairn oatcakes are king!

Welcome new folk!
