@Sakura54 thank you! Appointment went fine today.. quick and simple as you said.

@SkyBlue20 glad you ordered some new clothes and are feeling a bit better today!! Awful having days when you feel like that.

@bubblybon20 I will definitely book another scan before 20 weeks. We don't want to find out the sex like i said but i want a little reassurance again before 20 weeks... i feel like its a big one. Its 4 weeks today and I'm already starting to get nervous about them finding something wrong. Lets hope not!!🙏🤞 oh and I also want another scan before I tell my class but I know the rumour mill has already started 🙄 so best not wait too long!

Sakura54 · 18/09/2020 09:06

I’m 100% certain I’m feeling kicks here and there which is reassuring, but I’m waiting for the 20w scan to find out if all looks well before breathing a bit more easy. Less than 3 weeks until the moment of truth and it’ll be time to think of baby names which is an ordeal in itself.

@bubblybon20 Your 20w scan is not that long after mine. I think it’s pretty rare for something to be seriously wrong at this stage? Especially as you’ve seen your healthy little boy. I mean I’m still going to have scanxiety off course, naturally.

So after the scan, if you’re not a FTM then your next appt is at 28 weeks!? That’s 2 months of nothing and too soon to count kicks. Then one at 34 weeks so we’re basically being left to our own devices.

I actually don’t have a specific midwife or consultant. Well not that I’m aware of anyway. My next appt is at a different place even so let’s see how often I’ll be going there as opposed to the hospital. @SmileyT I’m thinking I may have to fight as I read that when it comes to CS, they sometimes try to convince you not to so you have to stand your ground, which isn’t a problem for me. I’ll be making a nice little list of reasons lol. Besides I might have another breech which is an automatic CS anyway and takes the decision out of our hands. If it was a FTM requesting a CS, then that’s a different story as it’s highly unlikely that would be agreed.

@Sakura54 yay to you feeling kicks! I've been getting like a strong fluttering the past few days! It still feels like ages away 😫 although sure it'll go pretty fast, yes naming this time for myself feels so difficult 🙄😫🙈 very true. I think I'm see how I am feeling before I book anything. Scanxiety is defo real still.

I don't have another scan until 28 weeks and that's for a detailed heart scan of baby.. feels like it's such big gaps in between after 20 weeks.. also I have no idea when il be actually seeing a midwife in person again? 🤷🏻‍♀️

RosieJess91 · 18/09/2020 14:34

Got a letter through regarding my heart clinic appointment today, last time I was due to have my appointment when I reached 15 weeks, so I could report back to my midwife at 16 weeks. This time I'm not having it until I'm 22 weeks, all the way in December. Frankly, seems mad to me, as the whole point is to make sure my hearts behaving and decide the best options for me regarding birth. By 22 weeks I should already know gender, etc, seems very late. Assume there's a backlog?

Workingmama1 · 18/09/2020 19:29

@sakura54 exciting to be feeling definite kicks!

@rosiejess91 odd that your appointment is so late but I guess in the grand scheme of things is still plenty of time to decide where/how you birth unless you need more immediate monitoring or checking?

@pugprincess how are you feeling today?

We are on the last day of our holiday and I think we might all be coming down with something! Desperately hoping it's not covid and our temperatures don't spike too much. I was feeling pretty awful earlier and had a second nap of the day, temp was up at 37.6 which is just below the covid cut off (but I seem to always have a highish temp, around 37.2) but husband and daughter were both 37.1 so something is going on!

Scan one week today so counting down the days now...

SkyBlue20 · 18/09/2020 19:37

Evening all!

@Sakura54 Great that you’re no longer classed as high risk but a shame you get to see baby less! Fab news about the GTT too! Sorry your DS is poorly, hope he’s doing better today and doesn’t pass it onto you. Exciting you’re feeling movements! 🥰

@Workingmama1 Hope you’re having a nice break? You picked a lovely week for it with this sunshine (assuming you’re in the UK).

@Pugprincess How’re you feeling? Did you get your test back?

@bubblybon20 we’ve booked a private scan for about 18 weeks (probably would have done it at 17 but doing it on last due date), so we can have the health checked and find out the sex together as I just can’t imagine DH will be allowed in to scans by the end of Oct (my hospital is Bolton, currently the Covid hotspot of the UK...)

@SmileyT Thanks for the app name, I downloaded it this morning, it seems like a nice one 🥰

@RosieJess91 That does sound late compared to last time! Could you call them just to double check? Might set your mind at rest at least?

How’re we all doing? I’m 15 weeks tomorrow, desperate to start feeling movements but aware it could be a long time yet. Having the occasional ‘is everything alright in there?!’ worry, just want it to be time for my next scan now. Constantly wishing time away at the mo!
Very strangely, the last couple of nights, when doing yoga, I’ve shifted my position/tummy and twice I’ve almost felt like something heavy rolling/shifting in it. I may have imagined it or it might just be because I have more tummy than I’ve had before but definitely felt weird 🤷🏻‍♀️

SkyBlue20 · 18/09/2020 19:39

Cross posted, @Workingmama1. Oh no! Hope it’s not the dreaded Covid and that you all feel better soon. Any other symptoms?
Woohoo, a week to go! It’ll be here before you know it. Hope you can enjoy the last day of your hol xx

GrandTheftWalrus · 18/09/2020 20:36

Hi all can I join the thread? Had a mmc in may. Baby stopped growing at 7wks. Just got a bfp again I'm 5+3 going by my dates.

Workingmama1 · 18/09/2020 20:43

@skyblue20 no other covid related symptoms, just feeling run down and nauseous but that's typical pregnancy for you! Daughter in bed so we are chilling with tv and a non alcoholic kopparberg to keep me hydrated!

@GrandTheftWalrus hi and welcome!

Pugprincess · 18/09/2020 21:43

Hi no result back yet, pretty sure it’s just a cold. Feeling better by the day. I’ve had a right scare today though, I started bleeding. First was red discharge, then rusty red, now brown at the moment. Brought my scan forward to this eve and baby is fine. Turns out I have a hematoma outside the uterus, it’s about 1cm big and will hopefully sort itself out but I’m to expect more bleeding especially brown she said. Cervix is closed and baby is measuring 9+1 and arms and legs wriggling, we even got a wave! Sorry if it seems irresponsible to go to scan but I’m pretty confident I don’t have it, it’s more to satisfy school. Also the panic took over xx

Pugprincess · 18/09/2020 21:45

And hello and welcome @GrandTheftWalrus love the name 👍🏻

SkyBlue20 · 18/09/2020 21:50

Welcome, @GrandTheftWalrus! So sorry for your loss and congratulations on your BFP! How’re you feeling?

@Workingmama1 Sounds like a lovely evening in ☺️ No other symptoms sounds promising, too!

@Pugprincess Glad you’re beginning to feel a bit better. Sorry to hear about the bleed, how scary! Glad you managed to move the scan though and that all was ok - and that you know what it is if it happens again. Lovely scan pic, you can really make out the little features already 🥰

GrandTheftWalrus · 18/09/2020 22:57

Thanks sky blue. Been feeling sick all week. Other than that feel fine.

Mentally though I'm scared ill have another loss.

Workingmama1 · 19/09/2020 05:22

Woke up at 4am to a big bright red bleed. Enough to soak through to the sheets and fill a tissue when I wiped. We couldn't get back to sleep to packing up to try to go home. I'm so scared of everything kicking off on the 4.5 hour drive home. Just last night I was thinking that we'd made it through the holiday without incident! No cramps so far, but I've got a really dodgy tummy (probably nerves).

SkyBlue20 · 19/09/2020 07:08

Oh, @Workingmama1, how terrifying. Sending you so much love, I hope you manage to get home and get checked out ASAP and without further bleeding and that it turns out to be something else rather than the worst. Safe trip back, we’re here if you want to talk. Xx

@GrandTheftWalrus completely understandable - we’ve all been there (and are still there regardless of how many weeks we are - I’m still worrying at 15 weeks and think I will be at 40 weeks - assuming all is well until then). I don’t think that worry goes away but it does become less severe as you get past each milestone. The way a lot of us have coped is to focus on the next little milestone (reaching week X, having your booking appointment, maybe having a private scan, etc). The not knowing and lack of control is awful but you can do it. It’s such a horribly anxious time and we’re here to chat and support. Xx

Woke up with a start as dreamt my DH died while I was pregnant 😫 Apparently it’s quite a common dream in pregnancy as death signifies the end of something (your life/relationship as it is) and the start of something new. Still, I wish these horrendous dreams would leave me alone and let me dream about nice things instead (or just not dream at all!)

DanceM1 · 19/09/2020 07:36

@sakura54 feeling kicks must be amazing (I'm very jealous!). I booked my 25 week appointment with the midwife whilst there for my 16 week one but I am a FTM. Ive been given a named midwife but I've never seen or spoken to her.. always somebody different so far.

@RosieJess91 seems strange for your appointment to be so much later than planned last time- I would definitely just ask about it.

@Pugprincess congratulations on the scan.. thats brilliant news 😀

@GrandTheftWalrus welcome! We certainly all share your worries like @SkyBlue20 said. This is the best place to share them!

@skyBlue20 those dreams sound horrible but I guess maybe it makes sense then... still not nice!!

@Workingmama1 I am so sorry youre going through this and really hoping it is just a scare which it could well be! Ill be thinking of you today.. hope youre ok 💕

Workingmama1 · 19/09/2020 08:11

Thank you @SkyBlue20 @dancem1. We're on our way home now. Bleeding seems to have stopped to just some brown on wiping. I feel awful and have had several bouts of bad diarrhoea and have been sick. Not sure if it's a bug or nervous tummy. Also I have mild cramps but not sure if that is related to my dodgy tummy. Will monitor on the way home and just hoping we make it back without incident...

DanceM1 · 19/09/2020 08:45

Cramps might well be because of dodgy tummy. Lets hope so xxx

Poppy10121 · 19/09/2020 08:59

@workingmama1 oh no, I hope it’s not anything bad but must be so hard for you. Can you get to EPU when you get home?

@Sakura54 that’s great news you’re not high risk anymore, and about the GD! Hope your arm is getting better that sounded awful.

@Pugprincess hope you are feeling a bit better x

@bubblybon20 I’ve still not had my 12(14) week scan yet but if that goes ok I’m thinking to book a private one around 17 weeks.

@grandtheftwalrus sorry for your loss and congratulations on your new pregnancy 💕

@skyblue20 I’ve been having awful dreams last night too, when will they stop!? Was awake for a good 2 hours at 3am trying to calm myself down again after a dream where everything went wrong.

SkyBlue20 · 19/09/2020 09:48

@Workingmama1 You poor thing, sounds horrendous. Hope the journey is going ok and you’ve not got too long left. Will you call the EPU when you get back?

@Poppy10121 They’re horrible, aren’t they?! The night before last’s dream was a huge fire whilst away with friends. I had a couple of weeks off them but now they seem to be back again. Hope yours stop!

Have spent hours this morning looking for maternity bras as I’m spilling out of mine again. Found a website called Hotmilk that has really nice ones, good reviews and was recommended on a Mumsnet reviews article, in case anybody is looking for some! I think I’ll order some today. There’s also a fitting programme where you tell it how your current bra fits and it tells you how many sizes to go up in band and cup, which is SO useful - I’ve been putting off trying to buy new ones as just can’t get fitted at the moment!

So tired again today, have been awake three hours but am still in bed, my eyes sting I’m that sleepy 😴

Pugprincess · 19/09/2020 10:20

@Workingmama1 aw bless you I know that fear all too well after yesterday I was literally hyperventilating. Yours sounds a lot like mine. If you can’t get into epu (my gp said it’s hard over the weekend) I would highly recommend getting an emergency private scan somewhere for today if you can and ask them to have a really good look for where the bleedings coming from. It could well be outside the uterus like mine and babies fine. How far gone are you now? No cramps is a good sign from my experiences. They can tell from the ultrasound if the cervix is closed so ask about that too. Best of luck. Maybe you could make some calls on your drive home? X

Pugprincess · 19/09/2020 10:26

@Workingmama1 I bet your poorly tummy is nerves as I went for a no2 immediately after discovering the blood and the midwife said how messed up my bowels looked in scan. My ibs triggers when nervous. I was nearly throwing up too. I would say that’s completely normal. Miscarriage cramps are another level, you know it’s not right kind of pains. Can be regular like contractions are too. Xx

Workingmama1 · 19/09/2020 13:43

Got home and no more bleeding. I had visions of miscarrying in a service station toilet.

EPU have booked me in on Monday morning. She said miscarriage bleeding typically wouldn't stop once it's started but she obviously couldn't say what it was or wasn't. Having a scan on Monday will mess with my 12 week scan as it will have to be rebooked but hopefully they can get it in time for the screening....

SkyBlue20 · 19/09/2020 15:28

@Workingmama1 That all sounds promising, I can imagine how scared you are, hopefully it’s nothing and baby is ok in there. Hope the next couple of days go really quickly for you, the waiting is awful. Lots of strength being sent your way xx

ew1990 · 19/09/2020 15:32

@workingmama really hope everything's ok. I know how scary a bleed is.

Hope everyone else is doing well.

15+1 for me today. Nothing much to report. Just still so tired, not having a daytime nap anymore but could easily go to bed at 7pm 😂

Not felt anymore flutters for a few days but I know it's normal for then to be sporadic this early on
