Pregnant After MMC - Thread 2
RosieJess91 · 13/09/2020 16:31

Sorry to hear your news @JennyMY. Sending love your way.💗

Amazing news @bubblybon20! Any thoughts on names yet? I always find boys names easier to pick!!

I've had a horrible ache in my left side for 2 days, keeps moving around, sometimes right down towards my pelvis, sometimes just higher than my belly button, sometimes all the way to the left flank. I assume it's just everything moving around, but man, it's uncomfortable! And I've barely been able to eat, having lots of small meals, more times per day, wasted a lot of my carvery earlier. 😫

ew1990 · 13/09/2020 16:40

Aww yay @@bubblybon20.

I'm so lethargic today. Everything seems like so much effort. I was hoping the tiredness would start to wear off by now. I think I'm going to have to get a pregnancy pillow, everything hurts lol. My hips my stomach my back 🙈🙈

Hope everyones enjoying this lovely sunshine x

Sakura54 · 13/09/2020 18:08

I’m so sorry @JennyMY I hope the other baby will be happy and healthy. Feel free to come back to us whenever you're ready.

@bubblybon20 You were right, happy for you. Congrats! Time to think of another boy’s name. It’s so hard to pick a name. I think girl’s names are easier as you can just pick something that sounds pretty!

It’s possibly kicks mixed with gas, very hard to tell at this early stage. I don’t remember when I started feeling anything with my first and don’t remember where my placenta was. What I do know is I used to get kicked like crazy at night when trying to sleep and he used to sometimes go on one side giving me a wonky/half fat belly lol.

So DH has been waiting for me to give him the go-ahead to start talking to/touching my belly. Last pregnancy, I had to stop him which was good seeing as it didn’t end well. I’ve told him he can now but it feels like I’m letting my guard down which is a bit scary.

Have to leave home before 8am to get to my GTT appt tomorrow, lame.

@Poppy10121 I did the same leading up to my 12 week scan as well... still do it now 🙈 good luck for tomorrow... it will be really lovely to have that reassurance before the 12 week mark.

@bubblybon20 lovely news!! Does it feel more real now?

@ew1990 I went for a walk yesterday and it was hilly... my hips couldn't handle it, I was so surprised by how painful they were and still are today. I am hypermobile so guess they may be worse than the average pregnant lady but god I hope they don't get worse as I go along. They click constantly now, every time I roll over in bed its all you can hear. And because my hips hurt so much yesterday, I naturally have started to overthink and panic that if it hurt my hips it must have hurt baby 🙈 not even a week since my last scan... im just a nightmare for worrying!

@Sakura54 thats lovely about your husband starting to talk to bump. I have the same feelings constantly since we told everybody that I've let my guard down too much. The thing is...we arent protecting the pregnancy by worrying all the time, just driving ourselves a bit crazy!! So I hope you manage to enjoy it ☺

bubblybon20 · 13/09/2020 18:59

@RosieJess91 we have a few boys names, but nothings really suck out, I like ending in ie. so a tricky one!
@Sakura54 defo is more difficult, I chose the boys names as soon as I found out I was pregnant this time I'm struggling 🙈
I also can't remember when I started feeling movements, she asked me at the scan today, but I honestly can't feel anything yet. She said my placenta is at the back so should soon hopefully! Hahaha it was defo the creepiest when you lie flat and baby is all over the place! 🙈
I'm really funny about anyone touching my tummy 🤣 as at the mo I feel it's more flab then baby lol.

Hope you're appointment goes well tomorrow! Shame about it been early tho! 😓

@DanceM1 it really does feel more real! But I still don't feel as satisfied until I feel movements. We did tell a few people today, and the boys. They're so happy and excited! My youngest is obsessed with mr bean so wants to call him bean 🤣🙈

SmileyT · 13/09/2020 19:01

@JennyMY so sorry to hear this news, sending you so much love x

@bubblybon20 yay another boy how fantastic, my brother has 3 boys and they are bloody fab 💙💙

@Sakura54 my OH talks to my belly before he talks to me when he walks through the door 😂

Workingmama1 · 13/09/2020 20:20

@jennymy so so sorry to hear that news, I can't begin to imagine what you must be going through. Sending you lots of love x

I got my scan date through just before we left for our holiday, 25th sep so less than two weeks! I'll be 12+1 or 11+5 according to scan dates.

I've missed a call from the midwife tonight, apparently my b12 levels or slightly high, they were only tested as I was showing symptoms of them being low! Her voicemail said it wasn't something to worry about, Google says it increases the risk of autism... have to wait for her to ring me again on Tuesday now.

@sakura54 I hope the gtt isn't too bad tomorrow!

1990EM · 13/09/2020 22:45

Hi everyone, just saw on the miscarriage group that @SmileyT had posted a link to here for those of us who are pregnant after MC.. hope its not to late for me to join as I'm already 17 weeks (how?!) I still find myself getting anxious and have enjoyed reading through the last few pages about scans etc, so hope you all don't mind me jumping on. Recognise a few names which is nice :-) love hearing about your pregnancy journeys after loss. Much love to you all xx

Smilingdonkey · 13/09/2020 22:54

@bubblybon20 amazing news!!! I am still undecided if i want us to find out this time - pretty sure this will be my last so I like the idea of a surprise this time - but I'm not sure I have the willpower!

@ew1990 @dancem1 I have just spent a small fortune on a bbhugme pillow and it's lifetchanging. I was waking up so still I could hardly move and now I'm ok in the morning and getting more sleep. It's really worth the £££

@sakura54 I am convinced I felt something the other day ... I'm 15 weeks now 🤷 I convinced myself it was gas but it really did feel like a movement! Last time I had an anterior placenta so I didn't feel her until about 21 - 22 weeks ...

@workingmama1 don't Google!! I wouldn't take that advice (and would be good long frantically) but I feel compelled to give it anyway! Xxx

Smilingdonkey · 13/09/2020 22:55

So stiff* stupid autocorrect!

SkyBlue20 · 14/09/2020 07:54

Morning!

@Pugprincess Sorry you’re feeling so rotten 😔 Doesn’t sounds like Covid but definitely keep an eye on it. Hope you feel better soon xx

@DanceM1 Maternity wardrobe sounds great - would love the link to the ASOS leggings if you have it to hand?

@Poppy10121 Good luck with your scan today! Hope you don’t have too long to wait!

@bubblybon20 Congratulations!! 💙

@RosieJess91 Sorry to hear about the pains! I think I’m with you on moving towards having to eat little and often now - had a big meal Sat night and was so uncomfortable for hours, it just felt like there wasn’t space in there.

@Sakura54 Hope the GTT test goes well. Lovely about your husband talking to baby. Know what you mean about letting your guard down and completely understand. Agreed with @danceM1, though, that we aren’t protecting the pregnancy about worrying about it - I’ve definitely felt like I’m tempting fate by telling everyone but at some point we have to do these things. At my booking in appt, when my symptoms had disappeared and I’d had the bleed, the midwife said to try not to worry too much - he said at that point it won’t affect baby but getting past twelve weeks, baby will be able to sense stress and anxiety and I’ve really tried to remember that to help me keep mine low (with varying results, admittedly!). I have so many awful thoughts all the time and it’s so hard to kick them away but I try to distract myself and think of something happy.
Sorry, that sounded like a lecture and it wasn’t meant to be at all - I think we’re all worrying and will worry for the whole of our pregnancies, which is totally natural, but hopefully it’ll get easier and easier as we go along. Xx

@Workingmama1 Yay to getting your date before you went away and it not being too far off! I’m sure the B12 is nothing to worry about but hope the call comes sooner rather than later and the midwife is able to reassure you. Hope you’re having a lovely break!

Welcome, @1990EM and congratulations! Not too late at all - we have people at quite a few different stages here, I think maybe some around the same gestation as you down to others at around 7/8weeks. When is your due date?

Hope everybody had a really lovely weekend. I got all emotional and teary yesterday as I couldn’t get as much cleaning done as I’d wanted to (I wanted the house to be spotless top to bottom but only got a few rooms done) but DH pointed out that we’d done loads of DIY and cleaning then been for a walk so it was no wonder all my body wanted then was a lie down and a nap, so that’s exactly what I did. Bloody hormones 🤷🏻‍♀️

Pugprincess · 14/09/2020 11:04

Thanks @SkyBlue20 doing a little better today as the rough feeling isn’t so bad but I am developing a cough and sore chest so I’ve made a warm blackcurrant drink as I’m not drinking tea etc and I daren’t have honey or my usual Jakemans (they have eucalyptus oil and aniseed in). I’ve taken today off work and will most probably take tomorrow off. Just resting on sofa still and trying to do odd bits around house when I can as I did nothing yday so it’s been a mess. Plus I need a bath etc. X

SkyBlue20 · 14/09/2020 15:32

Glad you're feeling a bit better, @Pugprincess, and hope you've managed a nice, restful day.

We've just booked a private foetal health and gender scan for 9th Oct, which was my due date for the last baby. Hopefully all is ok at it and it can be a happy day as well as a day of remembering. Wanted to get everything checked pre-20 week scan and find out the sex with DH there rather than go face it on my own as I assume he still won't be allowed in by the end of Oct. Three and a half weeks to go! Crazy to think that if all had progressed last time, that's how close I'd be to having a baby! 😱 Makes me realise how quickly the next six months are going to go...

RosieJess91 · 14/09/2020 17:37

@SkyBlue20 10th October was my due date, so I imagine we'll both be feeling the same way those few days. Glad my 12 week scan is before that date.
I've run out of my anti sickness tablets and had a few days without them now, feeling a lot more human. I'm still just having an odd day of sickness. Like today... But I have eaten things and kept it down. So I think maybe I survived this without hyperemesis this time? Hoping that means the sickness will fade once I reach the 2nd trimester!

SmileyT · 14/09/2020 17:54

@SkyBlue20 ooh what does the foetal health scan cover? Is it a well-being scan? I've got a gender scan booked for 2nd October, few days after my birthday 🥳 crazy I'd have been 4 weeks away from my due date right now... In some ways I feel like the last 6months have flown by but also they have been the slowest ever, I'm ready for March now 👌🏾

@1990EM hi 👋

@Pugprincess glad you are feeling a bit better 🥰

Pugprincess · 14/09/2020 18:41

Thanks @SmileyT and @SkyBlue20 my chest is quite sore now and just like sharp phlegm stuck in throat/chest area 😩 I’ve called in sick another day so off tomorrow. There’s now 5 cases of covid at my work, it’s spreading fast now. I daren’t go back especially while I’m ran down. If I do go back I will be wearing full ppe. So scared of the high temp, I really don’t want to lose this baby. X

Poppy10121 · 14/09/2020 19:24

Scan went well! They struggled to get a good pic cos baby was dancing around the whole time but all looking good and have been estimated at 10w 6d which is 3 days ahead of what I thought 😊
SO relieved, hoping I continue to feel like this!! 😊

Sakura54 · 15/09/2020 08:06

So when the needle went in, my wrist hurt. Never felt that before, she must have hit a nerve. Now my arm hurts weirdly in different places when I bend it so hoping it’s minor. The drink was nice I have to say. Was expecting Lucozade like before which is a struggle to down.

@SkyBlue20 Nah didn’t sound like a lecture at all. What you said is true, it’s not good to stress when pregnant or get angry which isn’t easy when hormones are all over the place. I’m easy-going when it comes to pregnancy but clearly the MMC has stayed in the back of mind.

I was supposed to have a baby next month too. It’s such a weird thought isn’t it? But we are all fortunate to be in this position again getting more and more pregnant each day!

@Smilingdonkey it could possibly well be kicks at 15 w as that's when it started to feel a bit different for me. I think mine are kicks but it's only now and again like a random poke. We have quite a big thing moving about in there now so makes sense right lol. They say that when it's not your first baby, you feel kicks earlier.

I saw that Alew15 made a thread. She’s still pregnant! I wonder why she disappeared after her scan...

OP posts:
SkyBlue20 · 15/09/2020 08:31

Oh my gosh, amazing, I was only thinking about ALew yesterday! I’m so glad all is ok, thank you for letting us know!

@Sakura54 Totally not easy when hormones are flying about and especially when we all have this awful thing that has happened to us but like you say, we’re all getting more and more pregnancy each day, which is amazing 🥰

@Poppy10121 Yay! Congratulations! The odds of all being ok are SO good after 10 weeks, almost on a par with 12 weeks I think, so that’s amazing 💕

@Pugprincess How’re you feeling today?

@SmileyT The foetal health scan checks things like brain, heart, femur length, abdominals, head circumference and a few other bits, plus then they tell you the sex if you want it but it’s primarily the health scan. It’s with Window to the Womb, they had that or a wellbeing and gender scan, not much between them really, just a few more things checked I think. I’m also ready for March (actually, can we fast forward to Christmas and then after that fast forward to March? That would be ideal!)

@RosieJess91 Glad you’re feeling a bit better! And yes, sure we’ll absolutely be feeling the same around then. I can’t decide how I’ll feel, it’s obviously a sad occasion but then we also have the new pregnancy to celebrate, too. I think it might just bring back a lot of memories. Glad your 12 week scan is before then, too, will definitely help!

How are we all this morning? I am EXHAUSTED. Had such a broken night’s sleep, can hardly keep my eyes open. Just had brekkie in bed though and now need to get going, another busy day ahead with work. I’m so ready for maternity leave 😂 I know it’s just a different type of work but I’m ready for it, am so bored of my job at the moment!

Pugprincess · 15/09/2020 15:46

@SkyBlue20 felt worse again today 😫 just had a burst of random energy but now feel tired again-typical virus behaviour right? My work are giving me a home covid test kit. I rang gp and she says there’s no tests nationally and that I need to assume I have covid and isolate. See what this test says hey.

Poppy10121 · 15/09/2020 17:18

@Sakura54 well done for spotting ALew reappearing and thanks for letting us know! My thoughts had often returned to her when I’ve been thinking how lucky many of us from the original thread have been, I’m so glad to hear she’s ok too!

@SkyBlue20 I know what you mean about work, every time someone annoys me at work I think/hope about 6 months from now...

DanceM1 · 15/09/2020 20:06

@bubblybon20 I love that your youngest wants to call the baby bean. Thats hilarious but very cute 🤣

@Smilingdonkey thank you, that sounds great. Ive got a maternity pillow that I'm enjoying at the min so will see how I get on!

I can't remember who asked about leggings sorry but it also won't let me copy the link for some reason 🙈 but they are called maternity over the bump premium supersoft leggings! Im going to order some more.

Is anybody else around 15 weeks and not feeling overly pregnant? I know its normal for symptoms to be gone now but its really strange isn't it! I have my 16 week appointment on Thursday and can't remember what it is really for...can anyone fill me in?

ew1990 · 15/09/2020 20:11

@danceM1 I've not really posted much because I feel like I'm at the awkward stage where you've had your first scan but don't really fully feel pregnant yet. I'm 14+4. Felt a few movements over the last week. Just little flutters that if I was busy I wouldn't notice. Only do feel if it happens when I'm sat doing nothing

I know at 16 week appointment with DD they checked blood pressure and urine and listened to babies heartbeat but I've been told my 16 week appointment will be over the phone, gutted really as its like a bit of reasurrance between the 12 and 20 week scan.

Hope everyone else is doing well. 5 weeks today till my next scan 🙈🙈

bubblybon20 · 15/09/2020 20:13

@DanceM1 I knowwww! 😂 I'm 16 weeks and generally don't feel pregnant at all, I'm actually gutted I don't really have any sort of bump at my scan on Sunday he was lying very Low into my pelvis! I also haven't had my 16 week appointment yet it's not until next Thursday but phone call. So can't help I'm afraid x
