@JennyMY congratulations 🥳
Did you know you were expecting twins? How exciting. So happy all is well with you all 🥰

JennyMY · 12/08/2020 15:59

(Realised I didn't edit out my details, not sure how to change that!)

JennyMY · 12/08/2020 16:02

@wishful30 Thanks! yes I found out at 7 weeks but haven't been letting myself get too excited! I really hope you get your rainbow baby 🌈xxx

ew1990 · 12/08/2020 16:08

@jennym aww congratulations on the milestone. Brilliant pictures.

I Think you can report your post and ask @mnhq to delete the picture. And then repost with your details cropped out

Wishful30 · 12/08/2020 16:09

@JennyMY me too! 🌈 Thankyou. Trying to remain hopeful. Spent way too long googling today but hey ho... who doesn't 🤣
Cramps are probably as good as if not worse than af but no actual blood yet. I feel
It is impending... my body like to mess with my head!
Same symptoms as before really. But if it continues and I get to 6weeks I might just pay for a private scan as I'm not waiting for the nhs to keep putting me off. I'd rather just know.
Can't believe a poppy seed can cause this much cramping over 3days 🤷🏻‍♀️

Who knows, maybe I'll be extra lucky and and it's the twin have a good dig too 🤦🏻‍♀️🙄😂 #thepowerofpositethinking

JennyMY · 12/08/2020 16:19

@ew1990 Thanks, I'll try that!

JennyMY · 12/08/2020 16:23

Repost as had to edit out my details from pic!

So....here's my twinnies at 12 wk 2 days! Twin 2, who is still a few days behind (always has been!) was very wriggly so the photo is less clear but twin 1 was quite chilled and posed happily! I'm in love! 🥰
I am so so relieved this scan went well - good heartbeats, measurements etc. Won't stop me being anxious that things stay on track but feel a milestone has been reached. 😊
Hope everyone is ok today xx

Thanks for your replies earlier @bubblybon20 @ew1990 @Wishful30 and @WorkingMama1. Since I posted that and went down a Google hole of what dark brown bleeding might mean, I’ve been to the loo about another 117 times (definitely one of my main symptoms!) and I’ve not seen any more despite thorough inspections of the tissue. So I’m hoping it was just a small aggravation from the pessary earlier. If it comes back I’ll definitely contact the GP/EPU, I am really resistant to the idea of going there because of how many times I had to go with the MMC and it just holds bad memories.

@Workingmama1 I did the same thing - sat down for a quick breather to cool off downstairs, the next thing I knew I’d been asleep 40mins!

@JennyMY what lovely pictures :-) Such a relief to reach that milestone as well!

Workingmama1 · 12/08/2020 16:53

Lovely pictures @jennyMY. And a great milestone to reach! Are they non-identical? So pleased it went well for you today, was it your offical 12 week scan?

@Poppy10121 @ew1990 glad it's not just me having sneaky naps! I'm supposed to be going to bootcamp tonight, really want to go but worried it will be soooo hot as there is no aircon in the room 🥵

JennyMY · 12/08/2020 17:18

@Workingmama1 Thanks! Yes, they're fraternal (thus doc isn't too worried about a few days difference between them!)

I've been having naps spontaneously too - the tiredness creeps up on you! Xx

JennyMY · 12/08/2020 17:20

Ps yes it was the official NHS 12 week scan. I may end up booking a private scan before the 20 week one rolls around as that's too long to wait! Because of COVID the usual monthly scan protocol for twins doesn't seem to apply at my Trust! X

SkyBlue20 · 12/08/2020 17:33

Hi all!

@Poppy10121 Try not to worry too much, the spotting could be nothing. Know it’s easier said than done though. Sending love.

@ew1990 Glad the scan went well!

All you napping ladies must have needed the rest! It’s tiring work this growing a baby lark.

@JennyMY What great scans, I’m so crazily happy for you! Yay to being over the 12 week hurdle! Do you feel you can relax a bit now?

Just home from my booking appt. Had the same midwife as my last one and he is SO lovely. He was really kind about the MMC and said that if I need anything at all, I should call one of the MANY numbers he gave me. He said that I should have no qualms about calling the EPU and saying I’ve been bleeding if I feel I need a scan (even if I haven’t) - he said that’s the only scenario in which they’re doing them now. He also told me which days he’s working this week and next and to call him if EPU aren’t any good and he’ll call in a favour with a sonographer 💕 He also said he was going to put a note on my 12 week scan request form for me to have it sooner rather than later so I didn’t have to wait ages for it as he knows how anxious I must be. Just wanted to hug him by the end! He didn’t, however, reassure me much about my symptoms dropping - said if I still have SOME symptoms then that’s positive (I still have the horrid taste in my mouth and boobs are a bit sore) but that generally they wouldn’t expect them all to go, if you’ve been having them, until after 12 weeks ish. That’s when he started telling me to just go to EPU if I needed to. We have the private scan on Sun though so will hold out for that - if something is wrong I can’t change it anyway so what’s a few more days, plus then my husband can be there. @Workingmama1 If you want me to post the list of numbers he gave me, just let me know, it’s basically every maternity department there is there!
He also said that advice now is to take 150mg of asprin rather than the 75 i was told last pregnancy so must action that immediately. Had my bloods done, urine sample submitted and told to expect a phone call to book in my scan. So now I wait!
Can’t quite figure out how I’m feeling now in terms of symptoms, definitely still have the horrible taste and am drinking a lot (though that could be the heat) so will see how I get on. Hoping I wake up feeling awful and that I’ve just not really noticed them today as I’ve been so busy 🤞🏼

bubblybon20 · 12/08/2020 17:38

@JennyMY what lovely pictures!! How exciting!' 😍😍

@Poppy10121 try to avoid google, although we're all guilty of it 🤦🏻‍♀️ glad you've not had anymore though! 😀

@SkyBlue20 I think you're appointment sounds really, reassuring! Hope you feel a little more reassured, also not long until your private scan! 😀

bubblybon20 · 12/08/2020 17:40

@SkyBlue20 also, I haven't any symptoms at all! Didn't have any even before my private scan, I wake up and sometimes have some soreness in my boobs! Then it vanishes! So fingers crossed it's just the placenta taking over for us 🤞🏻

ew1990 · 12/08/2020 18:02

This message is going to contain tmi so I'm sorry ladies.

@skyblue that midwife sounds lovely.

This might be tmi but I'm pretty sure the placenta had taken over at 9 weeks? When I had my MMC baby stopped at 9+1. But I should've been 10+4. The week after that scan when I had medical management I passed the placenta 2 days after the baby and it was a lot bigger than I thought. It was like the size of my hand so surely it must have been doing some of the work?

SmileyT · 12/08/2020 18:16

@SkyBlue20 your booking appt sounds amazing and very reassuring 🥰, I feel like my hospital is crap when I hear others talk of theirs, apparently there is no way to get directly in touch with my EPU and has to go through a GP referral or A&E which seems a bit crappy. I'm also feeling surprisingly good today - actually had lunch and did gag at all before I started eating, just trying to stay positive though, Hope Sunday comes round quick for you x

@bubblybon20 My friend has just given birth and her little boy was huge at nearly 60cm at birth so I'm hoping she'll give me loads of her newborn stuff as he went straight into 3-6months 😂

@JennyMY @ew1990 glad the scans went well ladies, love all the positivity in this group ❤️

ew1990 · 12/08/2020 18:20

@smileyt glad you managed lunch. I Think back to the other thread I was such a negative nellie it wasn't good for me! Just got to think positive x

Wishful30 · 12/08/2020 18:32

So good to hear so much positivity on here 🥰

Can someone explain why you might be told to take aspirin?

Sakura54 · 12/08/2020 20:21

@Poppy10121 Thats good the spotting was a one-off. I’m sure it doesn’t mean anything but off course I know how upsetting it is to see blood. It seems like a lot of us have had bleeding/spotting, as if we haven’t already been through enough!

@ew1990 Nah nothing is that TMI here. That sounds horrible. Sad that you had to go through that. The placenta does form but I think it completely takes over at 10 weeks? My symptoms completely stopped at 10 weeks last time so I thought it was due to the placenta, but obviously not. Im hitting 11 weeks now and still have symptoms so...

@JennyMY Amazing pics. 2 in 1! Does that mean your pregnancy is classed as high risk? That’s unfair you won’t be getting your extra scans. Have you got extra appointments?

@SkyBlue20 he sounds so lovely, how lucky. I never get or expect great people. The maternity department is so busy. Never seen a male MW though!

@SmileyT What was the baby’s weight? I had a preemie so he didn’t start wearing 3-6 months until he was 6 months lol.

ew1990 · 12/08/2020 20:48

@sakura surprisingly passing the placenta was easy. I just got out of bed one morning and it fell out. That's disgusting I'm so sorry. I was just shocked at how big it was. They did tell me I would pass it but it would be very small 😯😯😯

Hope everyones had a nice day. This Sun has just been too hot for me. Unbearable. All the front of my house gets the sun it was like a greenhouse

SmileyT · 12/08/2020 21:07

@ew1990 yeah it's nice when we are feeling positive, I try but definitely have my dark moments 🤦🏾‍♀️ and sorry I have no idea about placentas or when they take over I thought they starting forming at like 8weeks but took over from like 11 but I could have just completely made this up x

@Sakura54 over 9lbs, 9lbs4 I think 🤔 yeah my mum always comments on how big babies are because I was her biggest baby at 5lbs3, my little sis was smaller just over 4lbs6 I think came out a bloody trooper though and the only one of us that needed no intervention or help after she was born at 6weeks early, think she was in dolly clothes 🙈 how big was your DS? x

ew1990 · 12/08/2020 21:11

@smileyt no I don't know really I'm just taking a guess 😂😂 with DD I had to have growth scans and an early induction at 38+5 coz they said she was really small. She was 6lb7 which I thought was good.

Im the eldest of 7 and I was the smallest at 4lb1. Bang on my due date! But I was like 56cm long. Really long and skinny apparently 😂

SkyBlue20 · 13/08/2020 08:12

Morning everyone! Exhausted today after a terrible night’s sleep (more due to the cat than the weather!). Hope you’re all doing ok?

@SmileyT I didn’t think my hospital was particularly great until I saw this guy this time, I don’t know if perhaps he and his wife had been through pregnancy loss but he was fantastic with it.

@Wishful30 The midwives have a checklist of reasons you might be told to take asprin, mine are because it’s my ‘first’ pregnancy and my mum had preeclampsia. I think other reasons include being a bit older, having a high BMI and a few others.

SkyBlue20 · 13/08/2020 08:59

My midwife from yesterday just rang to see how I am, said he was thinking about me all night and hoped I was feeling worse today, but if not to let him know. Bless him! How cute?!

ew1990 · 13/08/2020 09:45

Just on my way to my booking appointment. @skyblue20 really hope I get a midwife like yours!
