Can anyone recommend creams they have used to help prevent stretch marks. I know they may not work but I'd like to try xx

Phie04 · 22/08/2020 13:57

@Babafarmer haven't been pregnant before so unsure if it would work on bellys and bigger stretches but i have pretty bad ones on my inner thighs and hips so I use baby oil after a shower. I had them pretty bad as a teenager on my boobs but they've disappeared to white ones after a few weeks of using it daily.

@ChilternsHan Totally counts 😂😂

I’m the same - the only exercise I can really do now is walking but I hate long walks or jogs, I’m much more into short intense HIIT sessions, which are now giving me cramps for a whole day or even two after even a short session where I take it easy!

loobyloo1234 · 22/08/2020 16:44

Instead of tentatively joining I’m now officially in the March club Grin

We’ve just had our private scan today and I’m due mid March. We were a few days out but now we can finally relax a little. Roll on the official 12 week scan 😁

JTB123 · 22/08/2020 17:05

Private scan today LMP should make me 9 weeks but I knew it would be off due to ovulation! So I'm about a week and a little bit off what I thought!

7+5! Which is about right I think, nice heartbeat 👌🏼😬

Was scaryyyyy lol

Which actually makes me an early April baby, but I ain't going no where! 😂😂

JTB123 · 22/08/2020 17:06

@DSP21 how far behind where you? I can't remember what your dates were xx

Phie04 · 22/08/2020 17:46

I keep worrying that something was wrong at my last scan.

From LMP I would have been 8+1 on the scan day, and going off my cycle from the month before I worked it out I should have been 7+4 on the day of the scan instead.

The baby measured at 6+6 with a strong heartbeat. Are the dates too far out? Im worried about slow growth. I could have ovulated later than I thought?

Im now 10 weeks exactly going off their dates and my symptoms are very still much here but are not as bad as they have been. Sign for concern? Or sign of first trimester finally coming to an end!

JTB123 · 22/08/2020 17:56

@Phie04 I wouldn't worry that's only 1 week and 1 day out! And you had a strong heart beat 💗
Mine was 1 week and 3 days out and I'm not concerned x

Sussexbysea · 22/08/2020 18:20

I caved and bought some non wired bras from Sainsbury’s. £16 for two and they are really comfy. They have some that almost look like crop top bras and they were super comfy too.

chloxhunt · 22/08/2020 18:23

@Phie04 when I went for my scan i was measuring at 7+4 and then 10 days later i was measuring at 8+4 and she said measuring something that small isn't exactly science and it's best to wait till your 12 week scan as it's more accurate

Aurora124 · 22/08/2020 18:36

So angry, DH has told his mum i'm pregnant without speaking to me. He knew I didn't want her to know, she will literally tell everyone she knows! its a case of " i'm not supposed to say but guess what? " i'm gutted, everyone will know and not from me Sad

Phie04 · 22/08/2020 18:52

@JTB123 @chloxhunt Ah thanks ladies you've put my mind at ease!!

I did say my symptoms felt like they were dying off a little, however I just went downstairs to make dinner as I felt a sudden hunger and my god I felt awful whilst cooking. Almost collapsed I felt so weak and sick!

OP posts:
DSP21 · 22/08/2020 18:58

@JTB123 glad it went well!! I was exactly a week off, so currently supposed to be 9 weeks today but measuring 8 weeks apparently. She didn't seem concerned at all and neither did my midwife so i'm taking it in my stride and keeping positive!

chloxhunt · 22/08/2020 18:59

@Phie04 yeah i keep thinking my symptoms are dying off then suddenly bam😂 I'm just lucky that I've only been sick once because of morning sickness, but if I'm hungry I need to eat or I'll be sick which is annoying 😂

TheFoz · 22/08/2020 19:08

My symptoms have definitely eased, I’m hoping it’s because I’m nearing the end of the first trimester, 11+1 today. I got my appointment for my 12 week scan on September 2nd.
I’m mega emotional though, I’m likely to cry at anything at the moment and I’m not normally an emotional fish! Anyone else over emotional?

Mrs1989 · 22/08/2020 19:17

@Aurora124 sorry to hear that, I can understand you being angry. Is it likely to make a difference if you contact DH’s mum now and stress how important it is that nobody else can know until you have decided to tell? xxx

Mrs1989 · 22/08/2020 19:23

@TheFoz I’m emotional right now and due to have an assessment on Weds from my local mental health team (midwife’s suggestion). I’m hoping I can get referred for some counselling. I’ve only had very mild symptoms that come and go. No proper morning sickness - nothing more than a slight sicky feeling that passes quite quickly and does not affect my mealtimes. I’ve read that’s perfectly normal for some women but just can’t rest easy until my private scan on Friday. I should be 9+5 by then but we’ll see. I can see myself crying on Friday before I’ve even got myself on the chair! But I’m hoping they’re used to that sort of thing xxx

Aurora124 · 22/08/2020 19:24

@Mrs1989 I messaged her the moment I heard, I'm not sure how much difference it will make, feel like DH may have well have put it on Facebook. I'm really not ready to tell my parents, now I feel pressured in doing so.

@JTB123 your scan picture warms my heart!

Phie04 · 22/08/2020 19:25

@chloxhunt that is very lucky! I was being sick almost every morning a few weeks ago. Luckily thats subsided and it only happens a few times a week. I just constantly feel tired and washed out at the minute. Im not sleeping well during the nights but come 4am I'm out like a light until about 10am! I think the broken sleep makes me feel worse in the morning which brings on the nausea!!!

Also is everyone having their scans at their nominated hospital? I chose the Birmingham women's and children's hospital as its part of our Birmingham trust, however my scan is at a random clinic! Its closer to home but out of the 4 hospital sites I could have gone to I'm unsure why I'm going to a GP practice that I'm not registered with!

Sorry to keep posting but I can not believe how much my little bean has changed in the past few weeks! Can you believe at 10 weeks they look like this? So human looking I love it.

@Phie04 yeah I know what you mean! If I don't have a nap during the day I'll feel really ill in the evening it's so annoying

chloxhunt · 22/08/2020 20:06

@Phie04 not all gps do them mine doesn't! I have to go to princess Anne as I have a heart condition so all of my scans will probably be there

Mrs1989 · 22/08/2020 20:11

@Aurora124 hopefully she respects your wishes. During my last pregnancy I told my mum and sister straight away but refrained from telling my dad (he doesn’t live with my mum) because we all thought he just can’t ever keep a secret! When my DH asked his permission to propose years ago he went and told all my family immediately! DH wasn’t very happy when we found out afterwards! I really just don’t understand why people can’t keep their mouths shut! xxx
