@ChilternsHan worrying just seems to be part of the first 12 weeks! It won’t ever end so we just need to learn to relax when we can (for me this is never 😂😂😂)

Sussexbysea · 21/08/2020 18:11

Asda George sell some non wired bras which are good if you are wanting to hold off until the nursing bras are needed.

Also, mothercare is due to start being sold in boots soon 🙌🏻 This is amazing as no where sells prams these days

ElsiesJourney · 21/08/2020 18:44

Thanks @Jebbs I'll have a look

bobloblawlawblog · 21/08/2020 19:10

I'm wearing one of those as we speak @Sussexbysea haha

Clara9 · 21/08/2020 20:05

M&S have some really good crop top type things that are great for sleeping in. Surprisingly supportive too.

Dreamcatcher007 · 21/08/2020 21:29

Thanks @LandMammal - great effort!

Dreamcatcher007 · 21/08/2020 21:34

@GreysLove Thanks! I’ve been sticking with Joe Wicks but it’s getting a bit too much now, so need to have a look on YouTube for other ideas.

Does anyone else get mild crampy feeling after exercising, even after a pretty light cardio?

Dreamcatcher007 · 21/08/2020 21:39

Talking about clothing, I just got out my size 12 dress which I was wearing in my third trimester before and gave birth in! Only wear it at home (it’s basically a nightshirt), but it’s so comfy 😂

JTB123 · 21/08/2020 22:41

I've got my 9 week scan tomorrow at 12.. ARGH so nervous!

Can anyone recommend how much I should drink 1 hour before? If I drink more will the picture be clearer?

chloxhunt · 21/08/2020 22:45

@JTB123 if it's on the nhs then it's probably internal

JTB123 · 21/08/2020 22:50

@chloxhunt no it's private, I mean I'm preparing for both lol but they've advised to drink 1 hour before

Babafarmer · 21/08/2020 23:01

I drank a pint and had a really clear scan but I have a tiny bladder and I was bursting xx

chloxhunt · 21/08/2020 23:36

@JTB123 ohhh okay private's are usually abdominal I believe starting from 8 weeks??? But nhs is internal up until 12 weeks

JTB123 · 22/08/2020 06:46

@Babafarmer thank you I'll do that! I'm already uncomfortable thinking about it 😂

@chloxhunt fingers crossed it's just abdominal! X

GreysLove · 22/08/2020 07:18

@chloxhunt thanks it was just the once yesterday.

We're away with the OH family his mum, 2 bros, in laws n baby) and we decided on the way up that we'd just tell them. It went really well and everyone is thrilled, it's early as I'm just 9w1d but they're the folk we'd tell if anything was to go wrong anyway. Tbh if we weren't away with some drinking and hot tubbing I'd have not told until the scan but I was exhausted just thinking about hiding it for 4 days. We're going to tell my mum and her wife when we get back next week, they love the garden so I'm going to buy the tiniest wellies I can find to give her as a clue.

@boblawblog I agree with the Asda non wired bras, I'm living in my 2. I'm normally a 32DD/E and God know what they are now. I also find wearing Primark sports bras to bed helps. They're not squashed in there just supported :)

I get on and off cramping all the time too, figure it must me a good thing. But it hurts when it spreads to the lower back, just like my period pain used to (don't miss that!)

Have a great day everyone and hope all scans over the weekend go great, can't wait to see pics x

Sussexbysea · 22/08/2020 08:37

@chloxhunt that’s not correct about internal scans. I had my 8 week scan at the nhs and that was external.

I’ve also had a previous 6 week scan which was external and to get a clearer look they went internal. @JTB123id be confident it’s external lovely xx

chloxhunt · 22/08/2020 09:12

@Sussexbysea someone in this group told me that but mine were internal 7&8 weeks

chloxhunt · 22/08/2020 09:12

@GreysLove are you going into the hot tub? I've read it can be bad for the fetus? I'm going away on Monday and there's a hot tub and I'm unsure whether or not to go in

Clara9 · 22/08/2020 09:13

@chloxhunt hot tubs increase your body temperature and can be dangerous

LuHen · 22/08/2020 09:32

I went in a hot tub before I knew I was pregnant! Was panicking afterwards and the GP explained that you just need to be clever and limit time to 10 mins in bursts - I wonder if its worth it when you'll constantly be jumping in and out! Haha.

ChilternsHan · 22/08/2020 09:45

@Dreamcatcher007 I get a mild crampy feeling after sneezing or standing up too quickly...does that count as light cardio Grin

I find walking is actually pretty good for not giving me any cramps.

I've been reading up about hot tubs (I'm going to a house with a hot tub in September) and the standard seems to be to avoid, although as with a lot of things female health related there isn't loads of research (and it looks like what there is, is based on fevers in pregnant women raising core body temp rather than hot tub use). I'm still not sure I'm going to risk it - might just dip my legs in - but I have seen the limiting yourself to 10 mins advice and also keeping your shoulders and arms out of the water so you don't raise your core temp too much. Plus keeping hydrated!

chloxhunt · 22/08/2020 09:56

@Clara9 I know? I'm not the one who said they're going in it

Clara9 · 22/08/2020 10:29

@chloxhunt sorry, must have misread your last comment. Just trying to help 🤷🏻‍♀️

Sussexbysea · 22/08/2020 11:49

Hot tubs are a big no no. Germs and the heat are unhealthy for you and the baby. It’s another reason they say no to hot baths too x

GreysLove · 22/08/2020 12:19

No I'm not going in the hot tub, may dip my feet for a mo but that's it. I mentioned it cos if I hadn't told the family then me not going in would have been one of the big giveaways along with not drinking. And spewing this morning. Sadly yesterday wasn't a one off, 11ish seems to be my core vom time!
