We haven’t told anyone yet either. I might tell my manager after the 12 week scan next week, but for most people we might hold off until 20 weeks if we can.

Got my private blood test back today (as the midwife said the first blood test will only be with the first scan no matter how terrible I feel 😳), and it turned out that I’m too high on iron, not too low as I was convinced I was because of the constant fatigue. So going off Pregnacare vitamins which contain iron and will just be taking basic Boots pregnancy folic acid and vitamin D tablets (too bad that’ve just stocked up on Pregnacare!)

Don’t know how I’ll survive this week before the scan, I’m sooo anxious and moody. Plus the husbands still can’t come to scans at our trust 😔

Hi @Mrs1989 I'm surprisingly calm for some reason. I'm kind of glad for mild-to-no symptoms.
Maybe it's because I don't 'feel' pregnant yet. It's sinking in now that I have a scan date, otherwise I'm being quite objective.

The human body is amazing, it will know what to do. Have faith in yourself, you're stronger than you think

aureliacecilia · 18/08/2020 08:18

I've got only very mild symptoms - I could easily not know I was pregnant if I didn't realise I've missed two periods now. It does worry me but looking back on my first pregnancy 4.5 years ago, I was very similar then. I'm trying to concentrate on that and not let the what ifs get me down. What will be will be at the end of the day and worrying won't change it. I should know everything is OK in 12 weeks' time.

aureliacecilia · 18/08/2020 08:19

I meant in 3 weeks' time - at 12 weeks! Obviously my body is missing caffeine.

EmzG20 · 18/08/2020 08:29

This is a bit of a random one, but is anybody worried about using cleaning sprays etc. I was cleaning this morning and suddenly thought what if I'm using to much and inhaling to much 🤦🏻‍♀️ I used the normal amount I would usually

DSP21 · 18/08/2020 09:19

@Mrs1989 I did the same thing looking at old wives tales and totally convincing myself it's a boy 😂 my mum now knows and said everyone she knows who had light bleeding/spotting in early pregnancy ended up having a boy so who knows! Anything to stop me feeling anxious even for an hour!

How is everyone this morning? I'm soo looking forward to the early March babies 12 week scans. You guys will keep me going for the next month!

DSP21 · 18/08/2020 09:20

@EmzG20 not so much with cleaning products as I don't feel they're too strong? But definitely with nail varnish remover and nail varnish. I painted my nails out the window the other day 😂

NoGinNotComingIn · 18/08/2020 09:34

@DSP21 the only time I spotted slightly in pregnancy with a successful pregnancy was around 6 weeks with my daughter! No spotting with my son or this one!

I was trying to decide if morning sickness was related to baby's sex, first pregnancy I had it awful nausea (though never actually sick) had a girl. Second child not as bad as the first though I can't actually remember how it compares to this time 🤔. Second was a boy. This one I *think it was probably worse than the second but not as bad as the first, so basically I have no idea! My husband was eye rolling at me trying to explain my useless theory this morning 😆. We never find out the sex before the birth anyway so we have fun guessing for 8 months or so (I know we are wild)!

DSP21 · 18/08/2020 09:38

@NoGinNotComingIn you must have some serious patience!! I'm eager to know right now!! But atm playing the guessing game too and googling old wives tales 😂

chloxhunt · 18/08/2020 09:44

I've got watery pale yellow discharge today, think it started yesterday before my scan, if it was anything they'd of picked it up, right?

NoGinNotComingIn · 18/08/2020 09:47

Nah I like the excitement at the time, it's lovely looking down at what you've got! Though I was so confused/a bit out of it with the first I thought she was a boy when the midwife asked "what have you got?" yeah that would be the umbilical cord 😂😂! The midwife asked my husband with the second, he was a little better at decifering than me, it was indeed a boy 😆.

Sussexbysea · 18/08/2020 09:47

We must be starting to come up to everyone’s 12 week scans! Mine is in 2 weeks, I’m nervous and excited all at the same time.

When is everyone’s scan date?

chloxhunt · 18/08/2020 09:48

@Sussexbysea haven't got mine through yet but I know it'll be in 3 weeks time

NoGinNotComingIn · 18/08/2020 09:50

My 12 week scan is this afternoon, eek!

NoGinNotComingIn · 18/08/2020 09:51

I'm due 1st March so probably one of the first, I'm 12+1 today.

ChilternsHan · 18/08/2020 09:55

My scan is 1 September - so two weeks today! Counting down the weeks/days/minutes!

Sussexbysea · 18/08/2020 09:57

@NoGinNotComingIn yes!!! How you feeling about it? What time is your scan?x

Sussexbysea · 18/08/2020 09:58

@ChilternsHan I’m on the 3rd September.

ValidUser · 18/08/2020 09:59

@Sussexbysea mine's the 18th of September, but I've already had two and a third tomorrow (fertility clinic do two as standard and we wanted another peek in between!).

MrsAndMrs · 18/08/2020 10:01

My 12 week scan is 7th September. Currently, no partners are allowed in at my local hospital so I'm desperately hoping that changes by then! 🤞🏼

NoGinNotComingIn · 18/08/2020 10:08

@Sussexbysea I actually feel fine about it now, I did have a 8 week scan and I was still feeling v sick last week (it came back after completely disappearing at 8 weeks!). It’s not until 2pm and I’ve got a job interview tomorrow so I’m too busy prepping that (between mumsnetting) so the stress of that is outweighing the worry of a scan! My husband can’t come in either which is a bit rubbish.

Anonymom31 · 18/08/2020 10:12

My 12 week scan is on Thursday at 10. Im so nervous!

Charlotte2020 · 18/08/2020 10:15

@Sussexbysea my 12wk is 27th August. The midwife at my booking appt said partners are allowed at the 12wk so hopefully that's still true. X

Phie04 · 18/08/2020 10:31

@ChilternsHan mine is the same day as yours! Can't wait!!

Luckily mine is done at a partner clinic and not the hospital so my partner should be able to come in

Mandy0831 · 18/08/2020 10:33

Had my 8 week scan today. Everything is as it should be and have been discharged from EGU.

I filled the self referral form while I was at the hospital. Just have to wait for a call and hopefully they will book my 12 weeks scan. They said it will take 2-3 weeks to receive a call.
