@JTB123 I’ve been desperate for symptoms but the dry heaving and couple of times I’ve been over the toilet I soon regret asking for them 😂

chloxhunt · 17/08/2020 16:28

@JTB123 that's a mood I've been dry heaving all day 😂

Phie04 · 17/08/2020 16:31

Thanks @LottieX must have been ok as feel fine since eating it.

Told my closest friends today and Im so glad some people finally know. I will announce to other friends and family after my 12 week scan in 2 weeks, but think social media can wait until 20 just to be safe. Has anyone else told anyone yet?

Just parents, my sister and a pregnant friend @Phie04. I won't be telling anyone else until about 13 or 14 weeks and probably after 20 weeks for the world at large. I'm not a big fan of overblown Facebook pregnancy announcements.

chloxhunt · 17/08/2020 16:38

@Phie04 only my parents and my boyfriends parents know and a couple of our friends and that's it! Waiting till my 12 weeks

loobyloo1234 · 17/08/2020 16:42

Just our parents and siblings at the moment. I won't do a social media announcement anyway but definitely excited about telling my closest friends once the scan is over with Smile

Phie04 · 17/08/2020 16:45

Its all very exciting! I agree with the facebook announcements... not my thing either so it will be a casual instagram thing. Same here, just parents and 3 friends at the moment! Cant wait to tell my cousin as shes due her baby in a few weeks so they will be of similar age!

Can anyone tell me if there's anything I need to particularly remember to tell the midwife during my booking appointment? It's this week. First contact I've had since finding out I'm pregnant and I've only got two missed periods, some on-off tender breasts, frequent urination at night and acne to go off as proof I'm pregnant! It feels like it's all in my head at times.

Jebbs · 17/08/2020 17:19

@chloxhunt not in the UK so that'll play a role. Sounds like it's very trust dependant on the UK as well.

@Phie04 we told my inlaws last week as we were staying with them and it seemed pointless trying to keep it a secret... the French are big on apero (drinks and nibbles before meals) and there's usually a bottle of wine around at at least one meal. This is the family who sussed a cousin's pregnancy out at one orange juice Wink
I think last time our Facebook announcement was at the birth - our friends and family were told as and when we spoke to them, with people passing the message on.

ValidUser · 17/08/2020 17:24

I never really use Facebook, but after years of infertility, surgery, investigations, treatments and IVF, I must admit I'm tempted.

I feel physically dreadful today. So tired, nauseated and too hot to nap. I mean, I'm glad that the hormones are doing their thing, but I'm not capable of much above lying here and dramatically groaning. 😂

JTB123 · 17/08/2020 17:26

@aureliacecilia only thing you should prepare yourself with are your side and your partners side of the family regarding any serious medical history as they will ask you to provide the info! Apart from that you'll be able to answer all the others 😄

Mrs1989 · 17/08/2020 17:38

@chloxhunt pleased to hear your scan went well Smile

@JTB123 @Oldermum80 I’m still waiting for really obvious symptoms but it’s just not happening yet at 8+1. I know you are saying be careful what you wish for but it would just be so reassuring right now!

Since Thursday I have had a mild sicky feeling which comes and goes. Usually first thing in the morning, late afternoon and last thing at night and I have gagged a few times brushing my teeth. It doesn’t stop me doing stuff (except eating chicken curry on Thursday night - I could only eat plain rice!). Absolutely nothing happening to my boobs (taking me back to disappointing puberty again 😂).

I’ve decided to book a scan at about 10 weeks, but it just feels so long away. Really wish I had a positive pregnancy experience under my belt already so I knew my body was capable xxx

ChilternsHan · 17/08/2020 17:39

Congrats @chloxhunt ! That's good news.

We've told parents/siblings and I told a couple of close friends. Telling people is the only time I've felt really excited because they're so excited for us!

I'm starting to let myself look ahead a bit the further along I get, although still anxious, just really impatient for 12 week scan now. Feeliny very tired today, think I got complacent about feeling good and overdid it this weekend!

Mandy0831 · 17/08/2020 18:07

@Mrs1989 I know how I feel I hardly got any symptoms
I have been getting sore boobs, aches in the tummy and I don't really want to eat. The thought of food makes me sick but when I'm eating I'm fine. I don't look forward to meal times.

My husband is the only person that knows, due to the miscarriage we have chosen not to tell anyone until the 12 week scan.

Mrs1989 · 17/08/2020 18:24

@Mandy0831 I don’t think I would be feeling this anxious if I hadn’t had a miscarriage back in Jan. I’m just a bit sad that I can’t get excited. I was overjoyed for one week in Jan and I don’t think I’ll ever have that feeling again Sad

Only my husband and my manager know at the moment. I don’t feel I can tell anybody else yet xxx

Mrs1989 · 17/08/2020 18:26

@Mandy0831 sorry to hear that you also had a miscarriage.

I am still able to eat but have just gone off certain foods. When I feel sicky I’m really not sure if I’m just imagining it, it seems to pass fairly quickly xxx

CaramelB · 17/08/2020 18:42

Hi everyone, don't mean to put a dampener on what looks like w super positive thread but I really want to hear what you think.

I'm 11+1 today but had quite a bit of brown spotting last week at 10+1 and 10+4 and a little today, all were only when i wiped. We had a private scan at 9+2 as my symptoms had starter wearing off and we got to see the heartbeat at 171 bpm. I called EPU last week when everything happened and all they said was put a pad on, monitor it and it it carries on, take a pregnancy test this week. I'm really worried because prior to the spotting I had a lot of pelvic pressure and stomach felt full as if I was getting a bump. Soon after first spotting incident I immediately felt lighter and by the 2nd spotting my womb felt empty.

I have not had any red blood or continuous bleeding/spotting and because i am currently on antibiotics for suspected mastitis, i don't know if nausea and sickness is side effect or pregnancy.

EPU refused to see me last week as I had my 12 week scan scheduled for this week and I'm scared it may be bad news. Has anyone had similar spotting/bleeding and had a positive outcome?

Sorry again for my slightly negative post.

DSP21 · 17/08/2020 18:53

@CaramelB hey lovely, I had exactly this couple weeks ago, although earlier than you are. I had spotting at 6 weeks at which point the epu refused to see me and told me to monitor it. I spotted again at 7 weeks and was told once again to monitor it. I ended up calling my gp and exaggerating my symptoms and they referred me to the epu the next day. Scan was fine, they found baby with heartbeat, although measuring small they didn't seem worried. They couldn't find a cause for the bleeding and said it's just one of those things that happen

It's like reading my own experience @Mrs1989 this is literally word for word what I'm feeling at 8+2. Patiently waiting for it to kick in...

NoGinNotComingIn · 17/08/2020 19:06

I’ve only told a few very close friends and my sister so far, even though we have got the 12 week scan tomorrow we still won’t be telling people, even parents. We are going to try to wait until 20 weeks, if I can get away with it! I don’t tend to show until 20+ weeks so as long as I can get away with not drinking it’ll be fine. We have 2 children aged 3 and 4 and don’t want to tell them until we know everything is fine with it, so it’s just easier if no one else knows. I’ve never been keen on sharing news early, I had a miscarriage at 7 weeks and felt glad no one knew. Everyone is different but I’m quite a private person.

Thack · 17/08/2020 19:21

I've had the same as so many here! Not many symptoms so keep wondering if there is anything there and I'm going mad!
First baby: doesn't seem real yet.

I'm holding off from getting a private scan. 12wk scan is booked mid September, I might do one before if DH can't come with. He doesn't seem too bothered, but I feel we should have that moment together.

My manager left the company 2 weeks ago. I wanted his view on my risk assessment before he left (I am H&S on site) so he is the only other person who knows. We might tell BIL and his DW soon. I trust them and when we saw them Friday they were telling us about how they are starting IVF. Luckily they're lovely people, I just hope it works for their sake and then our DC can have a close cousin too!

chloxhunt · 17/08/2020 19:42

@Thack I didn't really have symptoms apart from sore boobs and being starving but today I started dry heaving all morning

Mrs1989 · 17/08/2020 21:09

@DSP21 isn’t it strange when you read something on a forum that is what you are feeling word for word?! I hope you are doing ok, plus you too @Thack, though if you’re anything like me, I guess you’re worrying too!

I’ve read loads of stuff elsewhere on here from women who just didn’t have morning sickness, so I know it doesn’t necessarily mean anything is wrong. I have also looked at the old wives’ tales and tried to reassure myself that I’m having a boy, and that’s why I’m not feeling too bad (and craving savoury rather than my usual sweet stuff!).

I just can’t switch off the anxiety because of what happened before. I am dying to speak to my mum and ask her what she experienced at this stage (three healthy children) but I just don’t feel ready to. I told her straight away during the last pregnancy then felt I’d let her down when it all went wrong a week later, because she is desperate for grandchildren xxx

chloxhunt · 17/08/2020 21:17

@Mrs1989 I'm sure everything's okay! When I tell my mum something she's like I can't remember what it was like it was years ago 😂😂 tbf I've only started getting proper morning sickness today!

chloxhunt · 17/08/2020 21:18

Does anyone else's tummy itch? Or am I just a weirdo??😂
