Hi all

I'm tentatively saying hello. I have an early dating scan on Saturday (we think we're due around mid June)

This is my first, and Im finding it hard to get excited until we've had the scan. Is that normal? Just want to know all is ok and then maaybe I can relax Smile

loobyloo1234 · 17/08/2020 14:30

*mid March. Not mid June. Baby brain already kicking in

LottieX · 17/08/2020 14:47

@Phie04 it'll have been such a small amount if you did eat anything, I wouldn't worry too much as you probably ate it with other food so will have diluted it down.

@loobyloo1234 welcome!! I know how you're feeling and it's completely normal, it's my first too and so far I've had no confirmation from any medical professional that I'm actually pregnant! I gave in and booked a private scan for Thursday but it's so expensive (£90!!)

loobyloo1234 · 17/08/2020 14:51

Ohhh I know @LottieX - ours was £79. For a 5 minute scan. I'm in the wrong job Smile

I just want that reassurance. Obviously I know until the 12 weeks are here, I can't fully celebrate. But just to have a date would be amazing now as my periods have been erratic since coming off the mini pill in December so I'm not even sure my dates are right Hmm

Can't wait for Saturday to be here now. Then NHS scan is 2 weeks later

JTB123 · 17/08/2020 14:55

@loobyloo1234 I'm the same, have my first scan on Saturday, should be 9 weeks x

loobyloo1234 · 17/08/2020 14:59

Ah good luck to you @JTB123 - Im looking forward to us being back on here to share all is ok. We told DP's parents yday and his DM (who I adore) was telling me she was going to start buying things this week. Best of intentions but I just said lets wait a few weeks. Totally unjust anxiety im sure Smile

Charlotte2020 · 17/08/2020 15:13

@loobyloo1234 I feel the same! I want to be excited, but almost stopping myself in case it all goes wrong! I've held off booking an early scan and waiting until my 12 wk scan (27aug)- it cannot come soon enough!

chloxhunt · 17/08/2020 15:18

Just had my scan! Everything is fine I'm measuring a day out, and she couldn't find any reason for the spotting

EmzG20 · 17/08/2020 15:26

@chloxhunt that's amazing news. Hope your feeling a little more relaxed now. I had a scan on Saturday and was so nervous but i now feel a little more relaxed

JTB123 · 17/08/2020 15:33

@chloxhunt so pleased for you xxxx

loobyloo1234 · 17/08/2020 15:34

Ah @Charlotte2020 - welcome to the too scared to be excited club Smile

I honestly thought it was just me reading these pages. Everyone around me seems more excited than I am weirdly haha. Born worrier obvs

Congrats @chloxhunt

chloxhunt · 17/08/2020 15:38

@EmzG20 @loobyloo1234 @JTB123 thank you guys! Yeah I'm definitely relaxed now!

DSP21 · 17/08/2020 15:40

@chloxhunt that's amazing news!! They couldn't find any reason for my spotting either so I guess it's just one of those things.

Time to countdown to 12 weeks now!

DSP21 · 17/08/2020 15:42

@loobyloo1234 welcome! And don't worry we're all a bunch of worriers so it's a safe space to vent all your anxieties. I definitely can't get excited, and don't know when I will ever feel relaxed enough to celebrate and go shopping for cute things!

ValidUser · 17/08/2020 15:42

@chloxhunt that's great!

I'm working from home until Wednesday. Small subchorionic haematoma needs monitoring. No bleeding, but want to keep it that way. Next scan then.

chloxhunt · 17/08/2020 15:45

@DSP21 bring on 12 weeks!!

chloxhunt · 17/08/2020 15:45

@ValidUser hope everything's okay for you!

Oldermum80 · 17/08/2020 15:49

@chloxhunt brilliant news!

ValidUser · 17/08/2020 15:56

Thanks @chloxhunt! It was an incidental finding on a scan, and it's so small my risk isn't increased, but we just want to keep it that way.

Complicated by being on blood thinners and having a condition that makes coming off them dangerous to both me and the baby, but arranging a haematology review and generally being cautious.

Jebbs · 17/08/2020 16:03

@chloxhunt great news!

Got my scan booked for the 19th of September (DH birthday). Now just need to find childcare...

Mandy0831 · 17/08/2020 16:09

@chloxhunt congratulations... glad to know ur more relaxed.

aureliacecilia · 17/08/2020 16:10

Great news @chloxhunt

chloxhunt · 17/08/2020 16:11

@Oldermum80 thank you!!
@ValidUser ahh really? As long as the little one is okay that's all that matters!
@Jebbs aww really? I haven't gotten mine through yet! Hopefully this week I'm eager to know when it is!

chloxhunt · 17/08/2020 16:12

@Mandy0831 @aureliacecilia thank you guys! I'm actually excited now lol

JTB123 · 17/08/2020 16:18

I've been sick twice today! Thought I was lucky and got away with it with just sore boobs! 🤣 beware no symptom gals....
