@ElsiesJourney I feel you!! I am at work but I barely function day to day cause I'm fighting sickness or sleep! When I'm home, I'm grumpy and sleepy and housework is last thing on my mind, especially since I can't stomach the smell of most cleaning products!

@Marshmellowskies Lovely scan photo! Congrats :)

LondonMarchBump · 13/08/2020 13:43

First baby and due 12 March (around). Feeling a bit frustrated/lonely because of all covid measures in the NHS process. Boyfriend is not allowed anywhere, no one has physically seen me yet, family lives abroad and dad recently passed. Booked a private scan (9+4 today) for coming Monday.

Sussexbysea · 13/08/2020 13:43

@MrsAndMrs I dread bin day. Driving past a truck sets me off. Bin day was Monday here and today I could still smell it. Vomit!!!!!

Then I wondered if it was my breath 😂😂😂

LondonMarchBump · 13/08/2020 13:45

Also, not 100% clear on if I am doing the right things since I have not been able to tell anyone yet! And, while I am at it, I also wonder how you guys approach work? I am normally a very ambitious person but now just want to sleep and make sure the baby is healthy. Or dear, so many emotions Grin

ChilternsHan · 13/08/2020 13:48

I'm sitting in the furthest room from our bin and I swear my sniffer dog nose can still smell it.

@EmzG20 yes! I decide on something to eat, make it and then go completely off it! Sometimes I think I'm losing my mind...

Belle1983 · 13/08/2020 13:50

@LondonMarchBump I'm feeling a bit worried as I've not seen anyone yet either.
I'm just trying my best to eat a balanced diet and not stress myself too much with work.
I feel like I'm not giving 100% at work any more, but being tired and nauseous makes it hard!

chloxhunt · 13/08/2020 13:50

@LondonMarchBump I'm not back at work properly yet, I'm on flexible furlough, I told my boss straight away as I've got a heart condition so I had been shielding and she's gonna try to keep me off till the end of the month which is when furlough runs out for us

LondonMarchBump · 13/08/2020 14:02

Right?! I never expected that being pregnant would be so physically consuming. I’d like to believe that a balanced diet and naps get you halfway there Smile

Marshmellowskies · 13/08/2020 14:08

@chloxhunt thankyou🙂
@DSP21 that's what I thought. I wasnt expecting see much so was a lovely surprise to see everything so clearly. My ds birthday is 23rd March and mine is 3rd of April so due date is sandwiched right inbetween on the 26th March

DSP21 · 13/08/2020 14:30

@Marshmellowskies that is so cuuute! Joint family celebrations every year!

JTB123 · 13/08/2020 14:39

Eek have my first private scan next Saturday!!! Should be 9 weeks by then but I just can't help but think I'll be a week or two behind that 😩 no idea why I just don't think my ovulation was bang on two weeks into my cycle!!

LottieX · 13/08/2020 15:39

@JTB123 I just booked my scan for next Thursday!

I should be bang on 10 weeks. I went a bit mad with OPKs, CM tracking and BBT with a consistent 27 day cycle. Anyone else keeping track of their BBT? I've just found it super interesting to see how my temperature has shifted and why I now hate any form of heat 🤣

JTB123 · 13/08/2020 15:46

@LottieX see I used OPKs all the way through my cycle and I didn't once get a positive!!!! I clearly must have 🤣🤦🏻‍♀️ but never once saw one! So I've no clue when it happened!! So annoying

EmzG20 · 13/08/2020 16:02

Got my date through for my dating scan today and by my dates it will be bang on 12 weeks 8th September

MrsAndMrs · 13/08/2020 16:09

@EmzG20 I got mine through for 7th September! Seems so far away!! I really hope partners can come in by then........

Babafarmer · 13/08/2020 16:09

@LottieX I was a bit OTT with track CM, OPK and BTT and I still check my BTT everyday I want to stop but I can't. I have such limited symptoms it's the only thing that keeps me going. I was super hot this morning. My poor hubby wants a cuddle in bed but I just get way too hot.

@Marshmellowskies congratulations that's lovely, helps me feel a bit more positive over my very limited symptoms.

Oh I wish it was Saturday and time for my scan but it's now less than 45 hours 😂

Sussexbysea · 13/08/2020 16:44

My trust has been letting partners in to the 12 week scan only since 1st August.

Hopefully nothing changes before 3rd September.

Taylortyler · 13/08/2020 16:53

I had my call with the midwife so now I'm super confused: I was taking 400 micrograms of folic acid a day, but because my bum is a bit high the midwife wants me to take 500micrograms a day. So I went to the pharmacy and they said I can either have 400 microg or 5 milligrams... the midwife then text to say 5 milligrams, but then I need a prescription for that so the doctor is going to write me one.

But this can't be right, I'll be going from taking 1 tablet a day to the equivalent or 12.5 tablets a day?! Surely that's too much?! I have messaged the midwife and asked her to clarify but thought I'd ask in case anyone on here is taking more than the normal dose?

Taylortyler · 13/08/2020 16:54

'Bum is a bit high' should actually say bmi is a bit high. Great autocorrect

Charlotte2020 · 13/08/2020 17:00

@Taylortyler I take 5mg folic acid for epilepsy. It's only 1 teeny tablet (unlike monstrous multivitamins!) once a day. I've been told I have to take aspirin from 12wks as my mum had pre-eclampsia- between vitamins, epilepsy drugs, aspirin and folic acid I'll be rattling with pills 😂

Taylortyler · 13/08/2020 17:08

@Charlotte2020 so maybe 5 milligrams isn't so much... bit worried I haven't been taking nearly enough for the start of my pregnancy?!

GreysLove · 13/08/2020 17:12

@taylortyler 400micrograms is equivalent to 4miligrams so 5mg is equivalent to 500micrograms. The unit sign for microgrammes is like an upside down m - have a look on the back of any normal vitamin pack and you should see it. :)

Charlotte2020 · 13/08/2020 17:17

@Taylortyler I'm sure it'll be okay as you were taking some already. I'm only on more because my tablets can counteract folic acid so I have to have the big dose.

Taylortyler · 13/08/2020 17:25

@GreysLove the pharmacist said and google also says that 400 micrograms is 0.4 milligrams? So 500 micrograms is 0.5 milligrams.. and this is why I hate maths!

Mrs1989 · 13/08/2020 17:30
@Mrs1989 I just had my booking in appointment and the midwife advised that lack of symptoms ‘don’t necessary correlate to anything negative’. She said that she’s knows plenty of women who have had minimal symptoms and have gone on to have healthy pregnancy’s. I guess until told otherwise, we just have to count ourselves as lucky!
Thank you @Boredinthehouse12, I know I just got worked up yesterday and having the day off work didn’t help!

I felt a bit nauseous first thing this morning and am feeling a bit nauseous right now but I expect it to pass quickly as it has since last week. I will try not to panic about that! I spoke to my pregnant colleague earlier who told me that she started getting symptoms around 7.5 to 8 weeks but they came and went. Also she’s sure our local NHS Trust is now letting partners into dating scans so I’m feeling better that there’s a good chance I might have my partner in for that as well as for the private scan I’m planning to have Smile xxx
