Arnica bath soak, I think I got it online last time. Not sure if it's lavendar though

Mc3209 · 29/08/2020 18:52

@roarfeckingroarr for me exercise started being a huge effort ages ago 🙈 nowadays, it consists of housework and gardening..

KitKatKit · 29/08/2020 18:53

@roarfeckingroarr Makes me feel better (sorry!) that I'm not the only one!

Baby is also apparently breech which is a)stressing me out and b) causing me soooo much pain and discomfort in my ribs. I've spent much of this week either standing or on all fours! If anybody has any tips on being able to do your day job (which requires you sat in front of a computer for 9 hours a day!), whilst managing this rib discomfort, please share!

In better news, my car seat arrived and the baby's bag is packed! Just need to do my own stuff now Grin

1990shopefulftm · 29/08/2020 19:08

@Flora20 that Amazon one looks great, thank you.
@Monkeyseesmonkeydoesnt thank you, I ll see where I can find it from, I ve used arnica cream before without any trouble so hopefully that would be safe.
@roarfeckingroarr on a good day I can walk a couple of miles but some days even chores feel like a lot of effort physically

Mc3209 · 29/08/2020 19:10

@KitKatKit my beastie is breech too. Have you tried sitting on a birthing ball instead of a chair? It helps me immensely, although my main issue is wonky hips and lower back (thanks, hormone relaxin).

KitKatKit · 29/08/2020 19:58

@Mc3209 Ah thank you! I've been sitting on a ball since really early on, but it doesn't seem to have worked 🙄 I've been doing hip circles and other exercises but clearly this little chappie has other ideas!

Yes relaxin is a bugger! I've had really sore hips and pelvis especially this week. Trying to be positive and grateful for this pregnancy but it's so hard 😫

WaveStreet · 29/08/2020 20:54

@KitKatKit with you on the rib discomfort, feels like ive got an elastic band all the way around my ribs front and back 😩 hope you find something that helps, i haven't yet!

He was transverse when we last saw the midwife but been feeling higher up kicks over the last few days, hoping he's flipped the right way.

roarfeckingroarr · 29/08/2020 23:25

I'm glad it isn't just me then! I try to do something every day and did haul myself into the pool but it's a struggle. I swam 30 lengths but did absolutely sod all for the rest of the day.

FirstSurprise001 · 30/08/2020 11:42

I can’t tell you how all nice it’s been to get out for the day! Got up at 5 this morning, drove 2 and a half hours to Watford and did the Harry Potter studios for the morning. Hardly anyone on the tour so felt so safe and my mood is massively increased! Think it helps that this is the first day off I’ve had with DP in 4 weeks so feeling in a love bubble 🥰

Hope you’re all having a great bank holiday! ❤️

LadyB90 · 30/08/2020 11:55

@FirstSurprise001
That's amazing! So glad you are feeling happier. Amazing what distraction and quality time can do 🥰 really hope that it's the start of a better week for you.

1990shopefulftm · 30/08/2020 12:44

my friends and family gave me a lovely virtual baby shower and had a found a cafe and had a lovely afternoon tea delivered for me, i don't think I would have coped so well mentally being pregnant during a pandemic without having a wonderful support network and it really has lifted my spirits to still be able do one of the things I'd hoped to during these times.

roarfeckingroarr · 30/08/2020 13:09

Sounds lovely - glad you both had great days @FirstSurprise001 @1990shopefulftm

KitKatKit · 30/08/2020 14:10

Ooh lots of lovely days all around!

I went to Ikea... there must have been a queue of about 200 people waiting to get in. We turned around and came home! Now I'm home and ready for an afternoon snooze. Happy Sunday all 😀

DressingGown87 · 30/08/2020 20:27

@BS9790 hope your happier with your movements today.

@1990shopefulftm glad you had a nice virtual baby shower. Hopefully they can meet him in person soon too.

@roarfeckingroarr you sound like your doing a great job keeping it all up. I try do a walk a day, but some days are just a wipe out.

@KitKatKit ooo sounds like it’s all coming together! I would have suggested a ball too, frequent walking around. I’ve had two massages now, and they do help. Hope baby flips round soon.

@FirstSurprise001 glad your feeling better. It’s strange how the simplest bit of normality makes the word of difference

It was my dads 60th and sisters 30th today, I couldn’t go to the meal (due to being in local lockdown) but went and said happy birthday in the garden, and dropped a card off. Wasn’t the same though. Heartburn hit me like a ton of bricks last night, sat with my head down the toilet most of the night, and haven’t been able to keep anything down all day. Hoping for a better nights sleep.

We’ve also had a lovely day here. My family and friends threw a surprise baby shower for us. It was just perfect, baby and I have been spoilt rotten

Mc3209 · 30/08/2020 22:50

@DressingGown87 that sounds rough. I hope you feel better soon! Are you taking anything to hit that heartburn on the head?

@Sls668, @1990shopefulftm and @FirstSurprise001 glad to hear you are having a fabulous time.
I haven't even attempted IKEA in person, got a delivery coming next week with few random things.

KitKatKit · 30/08/2020 23:03

@DressingGown87 Oh the heartburn sounds awful. I'm taking Gaviscon tablets almost daily so fully empathise.

I'm sure you're doing all of these already but, try and sleep on your left (I feel the acid rising up instantly when I lay on my right), eat smaller snacks rather than big meals and try and stay as upright as you can for as long as possible after eating. Even slouching on the sofa sets mine off.
Hope tonight is a better night for you.

@Mc3209 I tried to place an Ikea order online last weekend... they took my money but didn't process the order! Hence deciding to traipse into a store... I'll have to try again next weekend. How exciting you have a delivery due!

Finally packed my hospital bag and did the last bits of washing this afternoon. Feeling a bit more prepared than I did a week ago Grin

SamK93 · 30/08/2020 23:24

It's so nice to hear about everyone having some lovely days.

@DressingGown87 oh noo that's not nice, I really hope you start feeling better.

Can someone make me feel less guilty as I just sat here and went through a whole pack of vimto cherry bon bons!

1990shopefulftm · 31/08/2020 09:03

The pregnancy breathlessness seems to have kicked in for me.
unfortunately had to take my asthma inhaler for the first time in my pregnancy last night and I ve been told it's perfectly safe to do so but I just have that little bit of sadness that I ve had to take something even though I know of course it's in our best interests to do so.
Hoping it's just one bad night as understandably if my asthma gets hard to control now they would prefer I had baby on the labour ward with more monitoring available.

FirstSurprise001 · 31/08/2020 10:50

Took the plunge this morning and started washing the baby clothes as it’s such a nice sunny day. Never have I been more scared about putting a black and white striped baby grow in with just plain white baby grows 😫 to the point I’m now doing a white wash, grey wash and coloured wash 😂

1990shopefulftm · 31/08/2020 10:53

@FirstSurprise001 its wonderful to see all the clothes hanging up. If you re worried get one of those colour catcher sheets?

FirstSurprise001 · 31/08/2020 11:25

@1990shopefulftm that’s a good idea actually! Will pop out and grab some soon! I’m so excited to get them out on the line! 🥰

Monkeyseesmonkeydoesnt · 31/08/2020 11:28

You need to get yourself some colour catchers, such a time saver!

Flora20 · 31/08/2020 17:34

@FirstSurprise001 Very organised - I keep thinking about doing this but I need to have a big sort out of the bedroom first otherwise there's nowhere to put them 🙈

Is anyone else feeling like there's no room left?! Baby is constantly wriggling and kicking at all angles, but for the last few days in particular it feels like it's climbing up through my ribcage when I'm sitting down - I'm having to rub the top of my bump to encourage it to move down and give me a chance to breathe!

LadyB90 · 31/08/2020 17:54

Definitely don't feel as prepared as some of you are! Still have all the nursery furniture to build and all the baby clothes to wash.

@1990shopefulftm that sucks that you needed your inhaler last night. I don't have asthma but find I get a bit short of breath laying down at night so much be hard if you have asthma on top of the normal pregnancy shortness of breath!

@Flora20 I feel the same! Wondering how much space there can be. I'm really struggling with the rib pain, don't seem to be able to find a comfortable sitting position and they are quite painful laying down at night too. Sometimes worse than others so must be to do with baby's position I assume. I'll see if your bump rubbing trick helps her to move !
