@LadyB90 it's tricky to lie down on your side but still be in a good position for your lungs. I m hoping for a better night tonight.

Mc3209 · 31/08/2020 19:13

I applaud you ladies that still manage to exercise. I've cleaned the kitchen and bathroom, vacuumed the floors, and went for a leisurely walk (with plenty of Braxton Hicks). Now I have no energy left. Nil. Nada.

KitKatKit · 31/08/2020 20:15

@Mc3209 Don't worry I'm in the same boat as you! Good on you for doing all of that housework. I've noticed that hoovering really triggers my PGP, so delegating to DH!

@1990shopefulftm

@Flora20 Definitely feel like there's no room left. The rib pain over the last week or so has been dreadful because little one is breech. I've been sat with a hot wheat bag at my hips this evening to try and encourage baby to move head down. Crossing my fingers...!

KitKatKit · 31/08/2020 20:16

Whoops posted too soon!

@1990shopefulftm Sorry to hear you had a bad night. Hoping its easier tonight and you get a good rest!

DressingGown87 · 31/08/2020 21:20

@SamK93 ooo would love a vimto Bon Bon!

@1990shopefulftm hope he’s moved and give you a little bit more room now, eased the breathlessness.

@FirstSurprise001 another vote for the colour catcher sheets! It’s feels so real when you start washing the little clothes!

@Flora20 I felt like that. Felt that everything I ate and drank yesterday, she was like nope! And pushed it back up.

@LadyB90 I’ve been bumped rubbing. Keep poking her feet down 😂

@Mc3209 seems like you’ve done loads. I went and got a new shark hoover to make life easier and to make hoovering fun again with my new toy!

@KitKatKit thank you. Hoping your little one moves and does a good flip in the next week.

Thank you, feel so much better. Had a 13hour sleep without even going for a wee 🙈 (Which is a Miracle) and no heartburn. Been on a nice walk today and for some food today, enjoying the sunshine and bank holiday.

@DressingGown87
I also got a new Hoover today!! I almost got the shark but then in the end I went for a Miele one, don't ask me why, I got so indecisive between the two that I ended up flipping a coin to decide 🤣 hope you enjoy the shark!

1990shopefulftm · 01/09/2020 09:35

Possibly a silly question but the last time I was admitted to hospital I was a child so I m a bit clueless.
I ll have my inhaler with me which is prescribed but I was going to pack my own bought paracetamol rather than have to ask for it during labour/post birth and have to wait for someone to bring it and it ll save them some money , hospitals don't take issue with using your own do they?

DressingGown87 · 01/09/2020 09:47

@LadyB90 I have a Miele too and it’s good. I just wanted a lift away, to make things a bit easier getting up and down the stairs. The shark is really good 😂 Enjoy hoovering!

@1990shopefulftm I’m not too sure but from memory they have to record what you’ve taken, and therefore would probably prefer if they where administering the drugs. I’m sure someone will be able to help more.

@DressingGown87 i'll have to ask the midwife nearer the time, i just don't want to be bothering them for paracetamol unless i have to since it's something i can easily take myself.

WaveStreet · 01/09/2020 10:35

@1990shopefulftm I'd imagine technically they would prefer you didn't but I'm going to pack some anyway!

1990shopefulftm · 01/09/2020 10:51

@WaveStreet i'd tell them when I'd took it so they were aware of course (not that paracetamol would interact with anything else they'd offer) but it ll make mine and their lives easier if i don't need to call them in when I need it.

SamK93 · 01/09/2020 11:52

@1990shopefulftm during and after both my births, the midwives asked how I was, any pains etc and offered me paracetamol/pain relief up to 4 times during the day.

Mc3209 · 01/09/2020 12:04

@1990shopefulftm you can take your own, but you will need to tell the nurses what you have taken, when, and how much. Even with paracetamol, as some other painkillers might contain paracetamol as part of preparation, and one would need to know how much you have taken already as the overdose is quite serious and can damage your liver.

1990shopefulftm · 01/09/2020 12:07

@SamK93 I know they'll ask, I guess I'd rather be prepared if it they then left it the 6 hours gap between doses when it's possible to take paracetamol after 4 if you don't go over the 8 in 24 hours so at least I'll have my own available to take, especially if I have to go to the ward afterwards and there's restricted visiting.

SamK93 · 01/09/2020 12:20

@1990shopefulftm yeah your probably better off to take your own then, just makes your own life easier. As long as they know that you've been taking it, should be fine.

1990shopefulftm · 01/09/2020 12:29

@Mc3209 I used to be a pharmacy technician so I know off the top of my head which drugs they might offer me that will also contain paracetamol and I will be making them aware if I took it :)
I felt awful side effects wise when I've had to take co codamol or co dydramol in the past so would likely refuse that if they offered it to me anyway.

SamK93 · 02/09/2020 09:45

Feeling emotional today! It was my sons first day at school, it's sad that his experience of school has to be this way with all the social distancing etc, hopefully he has a lovely day anyway and my daughter has now gone into year 4. I'm actually sitting here with a cup of tea without them after 6 months of them being home it's feels weird!

krissy12 · 02/09/2020 10:39

@SamK93 no wonder you are feeling emotional 6 months is a long time. it's so sad about the social distancing this virus has taken so much from everyone I'm so gutted today my local hospital had reintroduced partners being able to attend antenatal appointments and open visiting for partners on the post natal ward but weve gone into a local lockdown again and they have scrapped all of that all the hospital rules are back to how they were at the peak of all of this Sad

1990shopefulftm · 02/09/2020 11:26

@krissy12 I'm sorry to hear they changed the restrictions back. I'm in a local lockdown area and it's difficult not to be frustrated when people's selfishness is possibly going to affect your labour and post birth experience. Got lucky and DH went to my 20 week scan but have had the rest of my appointments alone.

At the moment I'm able to use the midwife unit so DH won't get asked to leave as it's private rooms but I'm very nervous about needing an induction or getting transferred as the visiting rules are different on the labour ward unit you go into a delivery room.
I did look up how self-discharge would work if it came to being stuck on the postnatal ward alone and they weren't being quick with letting us go home but hopefully it doesn't come to that.

krissy12 · 02/09/2020 11:30

the frustrating thing is they have only banned household visits and all hospital visits but kept the pubs etc all open!

I'm the same unfortunately we dont have the option of a midwife unit here so I'll be trying to leave asap aswell

1990shopefulftm · 02/09/2020 11:43

@Krissy12 yes it's the same where I live, it's much more important for someone to see a family member or a friend with some distance than it is for people to be able to go and get drunk needlessly.

I'm sorry that you don't have the option of a midwife unit, I think if worst happened and it closed I'd be asking if it was too late to arrange a home birth.

krissy12 · 02/09/2020 11:47

home births are cancelled here aswell they have been for a while although I don't think I'd cope very well with one anyway

1990shopefulftm · 02/09/2020 12:19

@krissy12 that's awful, i hope you can get a quick discharge arranged from the hospital. I'm lucky in that I live 5 minutes from the midwife unit so at least there's nothing stopping me from leaving if i get there a bit too early in my labour.

GhostWorld · 02/09/2020 12:48

Has anyone got any advice for a little bit of bleeding? I had it a fair bit earlier on in the pregnancy and reported it everytime but it got to the point where they kind of said you're fine, its your cervix rather than anything wrong with the baby and its such tiny amounts (like just when I wipe after having a wee) that it was easy to ignore. I had it again this weekend, after a while of not having it and I'm wondering if I should bother calling up, like if the advice changes because I'm further on in the pregnancy. Baby has been kicking/moving as normal and I feel fine otherwise..

LadyB90 · 02/09/2020 12:50

@GhostWorld
I'd probably phone up as I think it's better to ask the question and be told you're fine, but I don't personally know a great deal about it. But also could it potentially be a uti?
