Morning all had a really rough night no sleep got what I can only describe as a Chinese burn in stomach was so uncomfortable had to take paracetamol it was like tightening with a burning sensation and really uncomfortable as anyone else had this my belly still feels slightly uncomfortable

Kpm7 · 26/08/2020 10:32

@BG1234 that’s interesting I need to get car seat shopping.
Defo want a trip to primark too.

Have any of you lovely ladies looked at or purchased a steriliser. I do want to breast feed but I want to maybe express and feed baby from the bottle. Xx

Kpm7 · 26/08/2020 10:34

@Kj1010 hope your ok. I hve had really sharp pains at times. Like stitch. Maybe call triage if it’s unusual just to be safe xx

peachypetite · 26/08/2020 10:45

Sometimes I get really tight pains under my bump which I can only describe as feeling like a stitch. It usually passes after a few minutes.

From what I googled its says indigestion never had it b4 the baby still active so no worries there more just the uncomfortable ness also suffering from heartburn this morning can feel it coming on

kkr168 · 26/08/2020 11:03

@Kpm7 I just got the Milton steriliser, it was only about £15, then a few pounds for the sterilising tablets

loobeelou · 26/08/2020 11:41

@Kpm7 we have a tommee tippee microwave steriliser from DS and he liked the MAM bottles which self sterilise in the microwave as well. We plan to use the same again (new bottles obvs) if needed.

Word of warning if you do choose to get a microwave steriliser, check it will fit the opening of your microwave!

Amyyy1 · 26/08/2020 12:47

Passed out in town today, GP refused to see me when my mum phoned up as we don't have an appointment and they don't have any left. Phoned midwife who said we need to see GP ASAP and will call them to try get me an appointment but can't guarantee anything otherwise has recommended we go straight to hospital which id rather avoid. I know services are stretched atm with COVID but feeling really defeated :(

Kj1010 · 26/08/2020 14:27

@Amyyy1 oh no hope ue ok did u get appointment or go hospital this is really a joke isnt it

danielasummer · 26/08/2020 14:55

@Amyyy1 oh no, you poor thing! Did you go to the hospital? How are you feeling now? Terrible that your GP wasn't able to see you. Hope you're feeling ok x

danielasummer · 26/08/2020 14:56

For everyone that replied to me on this post about the car seat, thank you! (I've forgotten who to tag!) So we're going for the Cybex Cloud as it fits onto the Uppababy Vista V2. Doesn't quite match the colour scheme but hey ho! Going for a swivel 360 carseat as I've heard it's easier on your back :)

nearlyamummyof2boys · 26/08/2020 15:03

Sorry to here that @Amyyy1

I just had my fetal MRI and can honestly say it was the worst experience of my life! So tight in the machine and really heavy thing on my belly - so loud and scary - they hardly gave me info about what it would be like so had no idea if noises were normal or not! Then the women told me not to breathe heavy so all I could think about was my breathing! Then as soon as it's over just send you on your way no bottle of water or time to rest or anything.

So glad it's done now though and out of the way just have to wait a week for results!
Moving day tomorrow!
Argh!

nearlyamummyof2boys · 26/08/2020 15:12

Hear**

Amyyy1 · 26/08/2020 15:17

Had my BP taken which was very high so they've taken some bloods to send off, they were busy so didn't say much other than don't go out anywhere alone for the mean time and to carry on taking my BP at home for the next couple of days to track it especially when I have another dizzy or fainting episode. We shall see! I just hope they find something so I can stop feeling so rubbish other than telling me to get on with it. They're not worried about baby for now though as she's moved about since it's happened so don't think I need to go in to be monitored

@nearlyamummyof2boys That sounds rather scary especially as they had not told you what to expect! Good luck with your move tomorrow x

Babyhope98 · 26/08/2020 18:21

@Amyyy1 did they test your urine for protein? Was this at the doctors x

Amyyy1 · 26/08/2020 18:58

@Babyhope98 This was at the doctors and no they didn't, I think they had squeezed me in between patients which is why it was very fast x

Babyhope98 · 26/08/2020 19:02

God that was very poor of them. I would give triage a ring and tell them I know it’s a pain if they want you to go in but preeclampsia can cause high bp that’s why they should have checked your urine. Can be serious for both you and baby. I’m sure all is well but just to be sure x @Amyyy1

BG1234 · 26/08/2020 20:30

@Amyyy1 I passed out a few weeks ago at work. My colleague helped me up and then called 111- I didn’t want to make a fuss but the operator asked some questions and then decided to send out paramedics x

Amyyy1 · 26/08/2020 20:57

I couldn't get through to triage after multiple attempts at calling so not sure if I have been given the wrong number and can't find any other than the reception number in my notes?? I've ordered some of those urine strip tests from amazon to arrive tomorrow though I'm not sure how easy they are to read... I think I'm going to call the doctors back at 8am tomorrow cos I'm still not feeling too good and I don't want to keep taking time off work if it's something preventable!!
@BG1234 did everything end up ok?? X

BG1234 · 26/08/2020 21:38

@Amyyy1 yes, they checked me over- did blood sugar, blood pressure and heart monitor and all came back ok. Luckily I slumped rather than crashed down so no harm to baby either.
They said just to make sure I don’t overdo it in the heat, stay hydrated and keep snacking.
But if your bp is high that sounds like something else

Kpm7 · 26/08/2020 21:43

@Amyyy1 gosh was a terrible experience. Sometime just the attitude the professionals have is worse than the experience over all.
Hope you start to feel better and get it sorted.

@nearlyamummyof2boys
Good luck with the move tomorrow. Hopefullly it’s a better day than you had today.

@loobeelou defo thinking mam bottles. My sister swears by them. Seen a really good offer on amazon for the starter pack I think 8 or more bottles less than £40.
I think I will go for a microwave steriliser then.
I felt so clueless when looking at them. Didn’t know if the brand needed to be the same hahah FTM

@kkr168 I will check that one out. I haven’t seen that. Xx

@Kj1010 hope your pains eased? I am getting that acid in the throat feeling.

Xx

Kj1010 · 26/08/2020 21:57

@Kpm7 hiya yes thankgod was still uncomfortable this morning but eased right off got some rennies in and drinking milk so doing the trick at the moment but will still mention it for future reference

Kj1010 · 26/08/2020 22:00

Yes I jinxed myself last night as said to oh oh this is the first time in a few days havent had the heart burn and then get that bloody painful belly can feel the acid attack could come but drinking milk to prevent it lol milk 8s good for baby and u anyway so no harm done

EithneBlue · 27/08/2020 01:21

Well, baby is giving me karma for going in (again) for reduced movements (lazy baby and poor movement perception on my part I think) - now it's kicking me.

@Amyyy1 - that's no fun: going back tomorrow is a good decision. You could also try the antenatal assessment unit if the GP continue to be crappy.

nearlyamummyof2boys · 27/08/2020 03:13

@loobeelou it's so funny how babies are different my best friends baby loves the MAM and my DS absolutely hated them! They are great for the microwave sterilising!

@Kj1010 my acid is terrible brought 72 rennies for £5 but the chalkiness makes me feel sick milk is my new friend lol!

I hope they give you a bit more support @Amyyy1 I find it really depends who you talk to with the NHS for the amount of help you get! I know at my trust anyone who has high BP they give them a blood pressure monitor to take home to monitor themselves.
