@peachypetite How interesting! Can you remember where you read that? I'd like to have a little browse myself. I definitely experienced that yesterday, though -- I went for a 10km walk around Cheddar gorge and baby was quiet all day. As soon as I got home it was like a kick party!!

peachypetite · 25/08/2020 08:17

@EithneBlue timesofindia.indiatimes.com/life-style/parenting/pregnancy/why-your-baby-moves-at-night-in-the-womb/articleshow/61878135.cms

It does make sense, if you think about it most newborns will sleep through the Hoover, washing machine etc and I read somewhere else that it is quite noisy in there with the blood pumping around, so they are used to sleeping with noise, when we are active in the day. Mine is most active in the morning, after I have lunch and dinner and quite often as I lie down in bed it starts up! Did you get your sling too? My friends gave me their caboose I think it’s called .

OP posts:
EithneBlue · 25/08/2020 08:44

Yeah I have a sling - a Close Caboo from a friend - which I will try and buy my own if I like it. TBH I only bought the buggy because it was such a good discount that I thought it worthwhile (and it converts to newborn from the seat rather than having a separate carry cot which was what was annoying me the most).
Thanks for the link :-)

peachypetite · 25/08/2020 08:49

Ah yep that’s the same one as me!

Has anyone experienced morning sickness coming back?

Been sick a few times this morning! I don't know if it's because I've been so busy with the move I'm a bit tired? Though I have been taking it quite easy the past couple of days. Ugh it's making me all a bit weepy!

chubbyhotchoc · 25/08/2020 10:12

@MummyShark97 yes for the last week, I've been very sickly. I'm not actually vomiting but I have a phobia of vomiting and I just hold it in which is probably worse. it's just like cold vomit in the back of my throat all the time same as the first trimester. Bloody horrible

chubbyhotchoc · 25/08/2020 10:13

Also cried this morning. On holiday with my dd and stepson and not sleeping and feeling sick is pretty crap

MummyShark97 · 25/08/2020 10:16

I've also not slept well the past few days and I think definitely over tired!

Sad to hear you're feeling rubbish too 🙁but I do feel reassured that it's not just me ... I hope you feel better soon! Xx

NaomiB79 · 25/08/2020 11:16

@MummyShark97 I was sick out of the blue last week, I think it was definitely related to tiredness - I hadn't been sleeping well and felt incredibly tired last week. I have a bit more energy this week

Snowwhite2020 · 25/08/2020 11:17

@MummyShark97 and @chubbyhotchoc my nausea never really left and I am vomiting a few times a week still. Much sympathy.

I have also just been to the midwife and after measuring me have been told the baby is measuring above the 97th percentile! I am 5foot two and around 8.5 stone before conceiving so this is all a bit of a shock... being sent for tests etc (gestational diabetes and amniotic fluid) but also now seriously worried about a natural birth.

Anyone got any experience of this? Xx

chubbyhotchoc · 25/08/2020 11:29

@Snowwhite2020 my midwife always measured my bump with dd as above the 90 th centimetres and I was sent for scans. As it was she came out at a modest 7lb 1. Bumps are not a great predictor of baby size

Amyyy1 · 25/08/2020 12:27

Has anyone been asked for a blood test at their 28 week appointment? Not sure what it is for and I have a huge phobia of needles and blood tests so I would rather not get myself into a state if it's just to check I'm not deficient in anything as I have that every few months at my GP anyway?? 😬

peachypetite · 25/08/2020 12:34

I’m seeing a midwife in person next week. The first time since 11 weeks!

OP posts:
chubbyhotchoc · 25/08/2020 12:35

@Amyyy1 yes I forget what it's for now

Snowwhite2020 · 25/08/2020 13:02

@Amyyy1 yes I had bloods done this morning. I think she said it was to check iron levels and something else as well but can’t remember what? Xx

nearlyamummyof2boys · 25/08/2020 13:11

@peachypetite I think the whole point of the 360 car is so you can spin them round if you want them to be facing forward once they get bigger - although it is not recommended till they are 4 to be forward facing.
Also it means that you can spin them to the door when getting them out which is meant to be a life saver for your back.

Sorry to those feeling shit! I've been sick quite a lot recently and have the most terrible acid!

Going for my fetal MRI tomorrow very scared - not sure if my whole body goes in the MRI or just my belly?

excitednerves · 25/08/2020 16:10

Anyone else feeling uncontrollably emotional? I’m crying so much at the littlest things! So glad I’m not in the office!

@peachypetite I have a 360 for my DS (Britax two way elite) and it’s such a lifesaver now he’s bigger that I do t have to try to wedge him into a rear facing seat. I just spin the seat to face the door, pop in him and then spin him to face the back. So good! No reaching around him to get straps etc sorted. I just leave it side facing when I take him out so it’s ready to pop him back in.

Some of them are suitable from birth but I don’t think you can put them on a travel system, which I also loved when DS was tiny and slept all the time.

NatalieH2220 · 25/08/2020 16:39

@danielasummer We went for the Ickle Bubba Moon. I used the travel system for such a short amount of time before I didn't want to spend much. I did buy a separate car seat though - Maxi Cosi Pebble Pro and isofix but it's compatible with the moon which is good.

I finally get to meet a midwife for the first time next week at my 28 week appointment. I really hope it's a thorough one and they don't rush through it.

Kj1010 · 25/08/2020 16:44

I have my midwife appointment thursday but will only be 24+4

EithneBlue · 25/08/2020 17:00

@Snowwhite2020 - I had an extra scan at 26+3 as I'd been in for reduced movements - which gives me extra data...
At 20+4 weeks the estimated fetal weight was 12th percentile, at 26+3 weeks it was 13th.
My 25 week midwife appointment, however, gave an estimated percentile of 70th.
I don't think I trust the measurements!

excitednerves · 25/08/2020 17:08

@EithneBlue wow that’s a huge difference!

Snowwhite2020 · 25/08/2020 17:21

@EithneBlue that does sound like a massive difference. Unfortunately I think there might not be a mistake tho as with the 20 week scan our baby was measuring big on the head, femur and stomach measurements tho granted it wasn’t 97th percentile at that time... time will tell I guess. Just wondered what happened if you are found to have a big baby- if you are monitored more or become consultant led or whatever x

peachypetite · 25/08/2020 17:47

I have friends that were told they were having big/small babies and the opposite turned out to be true at the birth!

OP posts:
lc86 · 25/08/2020 19:01

Was told all through baby was measuring big last time, went for a growth scan and was told no it's all water and normal size baby.. she came out 9lb 13oz!!

BG1234 · 26/08/2020 00:29

Hi, I have been lurking here for awhile and am on the November thread too. I’ve got so much useful information so just wanted to share too!

Just wanted to say I went in primark today and got a couple of nighties- not maternity but just loose ones in a bigger size. One was a black jersey button down shirt style and one was a simple cotton T-shirt style available in different patterns and with a few buttons down the chest for skin to skin (only £5). Would recommend!

Also I’ve been looking at spinning car seats and most of them do stay in the car apart from the cybex cloud which can also clip on to compatible buggies too. Just debating between that or a regular car seat and the Nuna mixx at the moment Hmm
