Urgh, I am so full of snot. How am I making so much snot. Damn plague carrying toddler, and damn the pregnancy meaning I can't take any decongestants. Feel like I've been useless the last few days. Cant sleep much, got a really red nose, cant eat without opening my mouth to breathe......all added to the glamourousness of pregnancy. Blah. Sorry, rant over.

Sorry to those struggling at the moment. Cant believe the mw's aren't on top of it more. I'm getting really fed up with a lot at the mo. Feel like I barely hear from my group of girlfriends anymore. I know we're all home and busy with kids, but I swear its been 6 weeks since any of them messaged me to see how I was. I've given up. Fortunately some other mates that I've made more recently have been better. Feeling quite isolated, like it's just me and my little family (which is fine cos I love them and that's all I need, but you know what I mean).

Work have finally got a laptop to me. After 4 months of not being able to work, and now with only 6.5 working weeks left I really cant be bothered to start again Grin

otterbaby · 22/07/2020 21:02

@StrawberrySprinkles I think I'm up every 2-3 hours too, trying to heave myself like a beached whale onto my other side to get comfy. Glamorous!

@NWnature my yoga studio has reopened so I'm going to a pregnancy yoga class next week. It's tough trying to weigh the risk vs the benefits but ultimately I think it's going to do loads for my mental health and they have plenty of precautions in place. I paid 30 something quid for a set of classes to do at home but I've only done 1, I need the motivation of going to a proper class!

Sounds stressful trying to manage a house reno at the minute but it'll all be worth it once finished!

@Spark27 friends can be so difficult sometimes. I try to remember that it's easy to get wrapped up in our own lives and it's nothing personal. Hopefully when restrictions ease you'll be able to catch up.

HerondaleDucks · 22/07/2020 21:43

I went to go visit my mum and found a lady on Facebook Market place selling ready made up maternity bags. It's fantastic!
I also must confess... I've have completed my list lol!
I also made it into the local news today which has been a bit surreal.
Hope all you ladies are doing well.
I'm going to be 30 weeks on Saturday. Can't believe it!

MrsK89 · 22/07/2020 22:06

Im up every 2 hours needing the toilet. Im sure it looks hilarious watching me get out of bed, I kind of just roll off haha.
Found out today I have raised bile acids so they have diagnosed me with icp and will have to get weekly bloods done at the hospital. Never had this with previous pregnancies so I feel a bit bombarded with so much information, my head hurts 😑

Hope everyone is doing well x

Indigogirl88 · 23/07/2020 09:01

I'm up every couple of hours for the toilet as well however last night I wasn't and this morning baby girl seems quiet. She usually stirs around 11am so ill see x

Spark27 · 23/07/2020 09:14

I managed 5hrs of solid sleep and am counting that as a win Grin. Sad really, isn't it.
I roll on to my side to get up from bed. Want to try and fend off any stomach muscles separating issues.

Feeling a little less snotty today, so fingers crossed I'm coming out the other side of it

BntTowers · 23/07/2020 09:49

I hope everyone who has been having down days is feeling a bit brighter.

I only get about 2 hours at a time at the moment as well, it's annoying as you never feel rested. I've been getting to the edge of the bed, dropping my legs off and using that as leverage. Not sure if it's the best way though Confused

I'm really loving working 4 days a week at the moment, I woke up feeling so much more relaxed, stayed in bed for longer and for to watch baby move rather than just stumbling towards the shower straight away and then the office/ spare room. I'm also 28 weeks today, which might have helped the good mood.

@Spark27 glad you are starting to feel a bit better. I'm giving up on some of my friends, with quite a few of them I have to always be the one who messages first and it's exhausting and puts me off. I get everyone has their own lives, but it doesn't take much to drop someone a "hi, how are you" message.

Laurenlouiise · 23/07/2020 10:18

Morning everyone, I hope everyone is doing well despite the craziness in the world right now. I’ve just joined mumsnet & this is my first pregnancy. Is anyone currently struggling with their pregnancy at this point? I have SPD & have every symptom possible haha. I’m literally counting down the days till he is here. Anyone still waiting for the pregnancy glow? Which I don’t think exists haha. In regard to sleeping, I used to be such a heavy sleeper but now everything wakes me up.

@BntTowers I totally agree with you on giving up on some friends. I moved away from my home town & I always get the when are you back here text. Whenever I do go back to see family, I make them very aware I’m there but they can never be bothered to travel 10 mins down the road. So I wouldn’t expect them to want to travel 2 hours to my house. Being pregnant has questioned my friendships a lot, makes you realise who is truly there for you & supports you.

BntTowers · 23/07/2020 11:23

@Laurenlouiise welcome to the group, it's really good to be part of. Congrats on your pregnancy, it's my first as well. When are you due? I think the glow thing is a myth and actually it's just sweat from being far too hot all the time!

Laurenlouiise · 23/07/2020 11:31

@BntTowers Thankyou! I’m due 28th October, when are you due? I agree with you, I’m not planning a pregnancy for during the summer again haha

booroo · 23/07/2020 11:31

Hope everyone has a better day today, I also agree the glowing thing is a myth as it's certainly bypassed me entirely lol, 30 weeks today!!
I'm already counting down, I'm so over being pregnant In a pandemic Blush

FourPlasticRings · 23/07/2020 11:31

Welcome @Laurenlouiise! When are you due? Hope the SPD eases for you soon.

Last night was a pain- could not get comfortable and woke up constantly.

@Indigogirl88 Any more lively now? I had a couple of days where mine was quieter than usual. Started logging the times of movement on my phone to check if it was actually quieter or just that I hadn't noticed as much. It's hard to tell sometimes. Mine seems to have perked up a little today but I'm still not feeling as many movements as a week or so ago- it was pretty constant then. Now I'm only getting one or two big movements an hour.

FourPlasticRings · 23/07/2020 11:36

Ah, cross post with the due date thing, sorry.

@booroo congratulations! Into the final quarter. I'm 30 weeks today too, apparently. Totally didn't realise until I checked my app just now Blush. Hurrah!

Treaclepie19 · 23/07/2020 11:45

Hi all!
Welcome @Laurenlouiise :)
Definitely no glowing going on here! I'm 29+1 and thoroughly uncomfortable.

Thanks for all the support yesterday everyone. I downloaded a book for my ocd and bought myself a stress less journal. Spent the night doing things just for me which helped a little.

Laurenlouiise · 23/07/2020 12:02

Thankyou everyone for the warm welcome!

@FourPlasticRings have you tried one of those huge pregnancy pillows? May help you get comfortable at night.

Treacle81 · 23/07/2020 12:09

Afternoon girls, well that was the worst sleep ever due to just not being able to settle no matter what I tried! Wow so jealous some of your local swimming pools are open! Not heard about our leisure centres opening anytime soon 🙄 Really miss my morning swim! Welcome newbies and congrats those who have reached 30 weeks today xx

LostinAusten2 · 23/07/2020 13:29

Hey sending hugs to those having a tough time on the mental health - I’ve got anxiety so do have a good panic now and again about everything pregnancy-related 😊 Really second all the advice on here: talking to folk weirdly does help, and I found mindfulness apps are really helpful.

I’m 28+2 and there’s no glowing going on here, other than the rage from not sleeping - aaaaargh!

BntTowers · 23/07/2020 14:01

@Laurenlouiise I'm due 15th October. I keep thinking it's still May, when actually we are very nearly in August and that October isn't very far away at all now!

I've not checked my local pool yet, before all the pandemic stuff I had hoped to do some pregnancy exercise classes, still quite disappointed that plans have gone astray.

AutumnBabyWinterMummy · 23/07/2020 15:06

Has anyone been told their iron count is low after having their 28 weeks blood test? Just had mine to be told I'm low so they've prescribed me iron tablets x

MrsD1990 · 23/07/2020 16:05

@AutumnBabyWinterMummy mine was a bit low!! I'm just trying to eat more, they didn't mention anything about me needing supplements (although probably a good idea). My pregnancy supplements are supposed to contain iron so I was surprised I was a bit low.

Indigogirl88 · 23/07/2020 16:21

Welcome @Laurenlouiise due 6th October here, symptoms on and off but touch wood pther than severe aches and pains in my arms and legs not doing too badly!

Yep felt her kicking a Little more this afternoon so happy about that Grin

Laurenlouiise · 23/07/2020 16:54

@LostinAusten2 that’s one reason why I joined this forum, to speak to other women who are pregnant too. My close friends haven’t had babies yet so it’s a bit difficult for them to understand why I complain so much about it haha.

@Indigogirl88 my baby has had lazy day’s where he isn’t going as crazy as usual. He is so active and half the time I don’t even know what he’s doing in there haha. It’s a nice little break from having my ribs & bladder kicked repeatedly x

ChickenDipper28 · 23/07/2020 17:55

Evening all!

I haven't posted on here in a while but I've been following ☺️
So lovely hearing about everyone's 28 week appointments! I'm getting so impatient for mine 😩 I'm 29 weeks on Saturday, but my appointment isn't until a week away yet ☹️

I also got a phone call last week saying my iron count was low! They told me to try eating iron containing food instead of prescribing me anything. If I still feel exhausted in a couple of weeks then they will retest me.

Has everybody bought everything they need? I still need to make a few purchases, but mainly baby clothes! I've been trying to wait because I want to go clothes shopping instead of just ordering online!

HerondaleDucks · 23/07/2020 18:14

I have also been told my iron is low she said it wasn't the every day levels but the long term ones. Can't remember the name. So she advised I take an iron supplement from Holland and Barrett.

I'm counting down until the start of my maternity leave now which is 4th September. I've had enough now.
My left leg keeps going numb in the thigh and I have had to do yoga twice a day to alleviate it.

CharlieBalf · 23/07/2020 18:23

@Laurenlouiise I'm also suffering with SPD, as another poster said, the large full body pillows help but you might have to turf your partner out into another room!
No glow for me, at all 😂 Just a sheen of sweat and lank hair.
29+3 today and start g to think about the birth.... Or not think about it rather!
