@otterbaby I'm with you on the breathlessness. I think my bump has moved all the way upto my chest, and very bad heartburn all night.

@Spark27 thank you I will try and push not having it and having no pain relief was exhausting and I was furious with them. But of course at the time I had little to no energy to express this. Fingers crossed its better this time

BntTowers · 18/08/2020 23:21

@Spark27 I've had really itchy skin today, mostly on the bump until this evening when it has been in the under boob area, just noticed there's some red raised bits there, I think it's just been where my bra has been irritating the skin.

I've just realised I've got 14 working days left until holiday/ mat leave starts, spread over 3.5 weeks but I am very excited by this.

Zaalfruit · 19/08/2020 07:19

@MrsK89 I can’t handle any pain - eek can’t believe you did so well.

@Spark27 I washed some of the clothes it’s so strange the size variations.

For some reason I have no motivation to pack my hospital bag . Just really find it a huge chore .

@Treaclepie19 how are you feeling now?

Zaalfruit · 19/08/2020 07:21

Also my skin is so itchy been placing so much coconut oil on my belly it’s not helping !

I also think I might be getting a uti - been feeling so much pressure down below and my pee is so dark .

blankiesandunicorns · 19/08/2020 07:36

@Zaalfruit get a sample to doctors you don't want to get one of those or it get worse!

It's my last day at work today! Saved up 5 weeks of annual leave before my mat leave starts! 🥳🥳🥳

Treaclepie19 · 19/08/2020 07:38

@Zaalfruit the rib pain has eased loads thanks.

I've got lots of pressure when weeing but if you think it might be a uti I'd get checked. Not something you want to leave untreated in pregnancy really. Make sure to drink plenty!

I've been so thirsty. I drank a pint of water over the night and still woke up wanting more.
33 weeks today! 😊 I'm counting down to 37 now for full term.

OP posts:
blankiesandunicorns · 19/08/2020 07:56

I always think how funny it is from the moment you find out you're pregnant you wait for this one day, then you get to this stage and that date goes out the window because actually it could be 3 weeks or could be 7!

Spark27 · 19/08/2020 08:09

Yay on the last day of work @blankiesandunicorns. Do you have anything fun planned or is it getting the house and stuff sorted? I've got 11 working days left, but only 1 of those is in office.

Try and smash in lots of water to flush yourself through @Zaalfruit, and get a sample into the drs. Best to get it sorted asap.

I've got a big meat delivery coming today 🙈, so going to portion that up ready for a big food cook up over the next few weeks. Crazy to think that while I say I have 5.5w to go it could be between 2.5 & 7.5w. Arggghh!

Treaclepie19 · 19/08/2020 08:18

I was watching the positive birth company videos last night and she was talking about that. How you're due from like 37-42 weeks.

With my first i was expecting to go way over and he came at 37+4 so it completely threw me off 😂

Last day of work is exciting @blankiesandunicorns!

MrsD1990 · 19/08/2020 08:20

3 weeks and 3 days to go until I'm full term! Also how long until my maternity leave starts.🎊🎊🎊 Can't wait!

Quiffy · 19/08/2020 08:20

I've seen a few people say that the midwives can falter on pain relief saying it's too soon and then go it's too late, when really you should be able to have it when you want. I got told to bring paracetamol yourself as then you can take it and tell them you have without waiting for them to provide. This is why I really want my mum there, she takes absolutely no pish and will make sure someone appears asap. I usually just get annoyed with myself after for being meek.

@blankiesandunicorns happy last day! That is so so so exciting. I've got 8ish days now so beyond excited. My bump is too big for my laptop now so well needed. Getting close too @Spark27 and @BntTowers

blankiesandunicorns · 19/08/2020 08:21

@Spark27 just getting sorted, spending time with DD and DSD before baby comes and getting them ready for school starting again!

Yes @Treaclepie19 I'm not sure Iv got to that part yet but Iv also been watching that!

I cannot wait to finish, works been even more stressful since working from home

Treacle81 · 19/08/2020 08:43

Morning girls, yesterday was just overall shit day for me, also very itchy, bump, boobs, face, legs, arms, everywhere. Gets me irritated and all agitated. @blankiesandunicorns congrats on finishing up work, I'll be joining you 18th Sept. Thinking I might start the baby washing today as looks like going to be sunny. I was given canesten duo from mw and used that last night so let's how it reduces this discharge that seems to run down my leg after been up 5 minutes in the morning. Also getting tested for strep B but have to wait till my 36 week appt for it. @Quiffy I'm the same with the first tri smells as the fridge was making me boak again and everything smells off also getting bad nausea again 🙄 xx

bluemoon2468 · 19/08/2020 09:46

I'm also trying to think of it as having a 'due period' rather than a 'due date' so there are no nasty surprises either way! 3-8 weeks to go for me (the 3 part of that terrifies me!)

Treaclepie19 · 19/08/2020 10:46

I'm suddenly really eager to finish it @blankiesandunicorns. A lot of it I've already heard before from our last hypnobirthing course so I keep getting bored.

@bluemoon2468 I'm really excited for it to get closer 🙈 I keep thinking 4-9 weeks and the 4 side isn't too far to count down to.
I'm so fed up of being pregnant and so eager to meet her. Equally I don't want an NICU stay this time so I'm hoping she will stay in and grow until she's ready.

OP posts:
LexiM · 19/08/2020 11:02

Anyone that is really itchy, if you haven't already please mention it to your midwife to double check. My friend had that and it was linked to something with her liver and needs treatment.

Happy last day of work @blankiesandunicorns bet you are relieved!

I was awake 5am again, I had breakfast and some peppermint tea then fell asleep on the sofa. The cat woke me up there so I went back to bed. I'm finding it hard to work out if I'm hungry or need to pee for example and I can do something about it or just uncomfortable.

@Quiffy sorry you had a rough night. I always regret the salty food too!

@Zaalfruit hope you get your urine checked and everything is ok for you. I seem to be either really good at drinking lots of water or not at all. I'm definitely feeling more pressure down there as baby moves.

I agree about the due period, I find it odd they still bother with a due date. Mentally I am preparing myself to to go to nearer 42 weeks. I have enough ready that it will just be a nice surprise if hes earlier. I'm with you on the hospital bag @zaalfruit I cannot be bothered either. I've collected some bits and stopped for ages now. Lots of the clothing I am wearing still too so cant put it all together yet.

blankiesandunicorns · 19/08/2020 11:06

Thanks @LexiM yes I am!

@Treaclepie19 I don't think some of it I am going to be able to do and I'm not sure how much I buy into it that it won't be painful if I do certain things etc, but it has helped me be more positive and learnt some good breathing techniques.

Treaclepie19 · 19/08/2020 11:11

@blankiesandunicorns
My experience of it is that it relaxed me enough to stay at home until in active labour and manage with gas and air. When I went for forceps they thought I was just going in to be induced or something because I was so calm.

I did have a moment during transition where I wanted an epidural but the midwife just said "no you don't" and I carried on 😂

I won't lie, it was painful, but being relaxed and calm definitely helped.

It even helped with my labour for our TFMR. I did have morphine that time because I figured why torture myself when baby wasn't going to be affected anyway as he wasn't alive (sorry if that sounds very to the point, I'm so used to having to just talk bluntly about him) but I managed to keep calm, focussed and positive that the induction would work.

@Zaalfruit another one here who cannot seem to be bothered about packing my hospital bag.. 34weeks and it just seems a huge effort, I guess as I've gone overdue with my other 2 I'm expecting it again this time so can't get in to my head to worry pack and that she could potentially arrive in 3 weeks BlushConfused
So over being pregnant now though, am at the awkward stage where everything is such an effort and being comfortable is a thing of the past lol

Spark27 · 19/08/2020 11:56

My DD helped me pack the bag for the baby, and by that I mean she helped me chose some clothes and shoved them in the bag. It all needs to be sorted out and repacked when shes out of the way!

For my bag I've got the basic stuff- pjs/nighties, maternity pads, breast pads, toiletries miniatures, nipple cream, towel etc. But most of it- clothes, chargers, snacks, etc will have to wait as I'm using it all.

I need to do a bag for DD to go to my mums too. Fortunately she (used to) have her regularly so only really needs clothes.

Got my 34w appt tomorrow (34+4) so keen to see how I'm measuring. Last time I was measuring less, but my private scan showed baby to be a good weight. I dont want there to be any issues, but would happily take another scan. Going to jump on the scales too, just for my own info xx

NWnature · 19/08/2020 12:06

@booroo @Zaalfruit me too CBA with packing, I'm 32+4 so have surely got a good few weeks to go. Also convinced they will be late.
I'm finishing work on 25 Sept so a while to go!

I'm also a bit over being pregnant, generally I've been pretty lucky with symptons but I can't wait to have my body back and sleep how I want etc. Also worried how knackered I am now let alone when I have a newborn! It is fun to have a proper bump finally, I feel like it was only around 30 weeks that I actually looked properly pregnant.

I've asked before - but anyone doing perineal massage? I still haven't given it a go. Can't face it.

Our pram arrived which is exciting. We paid a grand for the set with various bits and bobs, my mum and dad found one in really good condition for £200 on gumtree!! So they have bought that and we won't need to take all our kit down when we go to visit which is great.

Feel like I'm losing motivation with everything this week. Concentrating at work is hard, I'm SO grateful to be WFH, I can see these last few weeks in an office would be a pain in the ass. I've also been really crap with keeping up with the PBC videos, need to get back watching them and I haven't listened to the MP3s for WEEKS - I was doing it all in first tri and have gradually tailed off since hahah entirely the wrong way round I guess.

CouscousEvaporator · 19/08/2020 12:30

I’m with everyone on the breathlessness. I have to take a break after going up the stairs!

Is anyone else not getting a 34 week appointment? Midwife refused to talk about labour at my 32 week and said she will speak with me about it at 36.5 weeks. Seems a bit late?! I’d like to ask a few questions really so I can write my birth preferences.

@NWnature I am also looking forward to getting my body back. I feel like I’ve got muscle wastage, particularly on my legs and am sick of feeling indigestion when I lay down.

I’ve half packed my hospital bag - baby’s is all packed. I’m leaving my DH in charge of the snack bag as he will probably be eating a lot of it as well 😂

Buzz22 · 19/08/2020 12:46

@CouscousEvaporator I dont have an appointment with midwife again till 36 weeks which seems scary!

@NWnature haven't done perineal massage. It doesnt seem at all appealing but then again neither does tearing. My little bump finally appeared too but I can still wear all my usual clothes. Still measuring small but baby seems fine!

@Spark27 I'm measuring really small, below 10th centile but had growth scan yesterday and baby is on course to be 8lbs at 40 weeks according to their measurements. So who knows where shes hiding in there. Sonographer did say growth scans can be out by 30% either way though! So I guess she will be somewhere between 5lb and 10lbs so not especially helpful!
I cant complain at the moment though as I dont feel uncomfortable. Have plenty of energy at least during the day. In fact other than the heartburn and baby wriggling around, I dont feel especially pregnant!

Spark27 · 19/08/2020 13:10

I get a 34w appt, but as a 2nd time mum I didnt get the 31w appt, so haven't seen her since 28w @CouscousEvaporator. Then according to my notes I should see her at 36w, 38w and the 41w. I'll wait and see what she says tomorrow.

I'm feeling very pregnant, although I think I'm mostly bump. My boobs seem to be constantly resting on my belly, my back aches. I'm uncomfortable sitting, I'm uncomfortable lying down. Very short of breathe. But in the grand scheme of things I shouldn't complain- baby is moving loads, no nausea, no piles or leaking boobs yet. Cant wait to feel 'normal' again. Hopefully by 2021 🤣

Treaclepie19 · 19/08/2020 13:50

I haven't done my hospital bags either. I've got no motivation for anything 😩
