@ChickenDipper28 I still have quite a lot to buy - we're moving house in a couple weeks so I'm waiting until we move to get the car seat, Moses basket and cot. I also need to get lots of baby clothes and blankets and other bits and bobs like scratch mittens etc... I have a list so I'll probably do a big splurge after we've moved.

My plan to sleep in today failed - woken up by husband at 6am. He didn't mean any harm so I'm not mad, he saw I had rolled onto my back in my sleep so we getting me to roll on my side. At least I slept through most of the night!!

Had a nice day off though. Lazed in bed, watched gossip girl and ordered a nice lunch. Also just went on an hour long walk which is really long for me so I'm absolutely shattered!!

@HerondaleDucks ah we're due date buddies aren't we! I'm counting down the days to mat leave too - jealous you're starting a week earlier than I am!!

Laurenlouiise · 23/07/2020 18:55

@ChickenDipper28 I’ve bought everything for him but I just can’t help myself when I see cute outfits. Now everything is slowly going back to normal, you can actual go shopping and not just order online.

@HerondaleDucks does your numbness get worse at night? I’ve been waking up with it as well as cramp. Does yoga really help?

@CharlieBalf Atm I’ve also been using my boyf to rest my leg over which seems to help but eventually, think I’ll shuve him in the spare bedroom haha. Apologies if you’ve mentioned it previously, is this your first baby & how are you feeling about the birth? I’m absolutely terrified x

HerondaleDucks · 23/07/2020 18:57

@MrsD1990 I think so. 4th October?
I had 3 weeks of holiday to take so my line manager was like, let's write off september and start maternity right up to the line.
I'm off until the 14th july. So I'm really happy with that.

We have also done a lot of walking today, we went on a day out to Dunster Castle, lots of hills but plenty of benches for breaks!

HerondaleDucks · 23/07/2020 19:01

@Laurenlouiise it is worse in the evening or when I've been walking for a period of time.
There are lots of third trimester yoga videos for help with sciatica and back pain and i find the stretches reduce the numbness.
My mother has filled me with horror and informed me that her numb leg got worse right up until birth and then stayed afterwards.
I hope the yoga will ease it post birth! As its third trimester sessions its not too strenuous or long so I do one in the morning and one before bed

ChickenDipper28 · 23/07/2020 19:21

@MrsD1990 Good luck on the house move! How exciting, you'll be all ready and settled ready in time for the baby to come ☺️

@Laurenlouiise I'm the same, luckily I haven't been shopping anywhere yet or I would have bought lots of outfits! Hoping to go next week!

Anybody else suffering with bad RSL and cramps especially at night?

MrsD1990 · 23/07/2020 19:46

@HerondaleDucks ah I must've remembered wrong, we're one day apart - I'm 3rd October! Your maternity leave plan sounds amazing 😊 I'm off from 11th sept until the end of June. Can't wait!!

@chickendipper28 thank you!! Can't wait to move and start nesting 😁 the move almost didn't happen because of Covid so am relieved that we will have more space soon (we currently live in the smallest flat you can imagine)

ChickenDipper28 · 23/07/2020 20:29

@MrsD1990 So glad Covid didn't stop the move! The nesting is the best part, you're going to love it! 🤭 I'm still currently nesting and making everything my own. We only moved into our new house a couple of months ago! Thankfully Covid didn't stop ours either 😬

AutumnBabyWinterMummy · 23/07/2020 20:33

@MrsD1990 ah well the good thing if they haven't given you anything maybe you were just a little under the ok level and if you've been eating more iron since hopefully you should be ok now.
That's also quite sweet your husband woke you to move you onto your side!

@Laurenlouiise I know what you mean, I don't think you can ever understand just how hard it can be sometimes growing a baby until you're doing it! I definitely had no idea!!

@ChickenDipper28 they told me to eat more iron but also take these tablets so shall see how it goes. I have been knackered the last few days though felt like I was back in first trimester so hopefully they'll help.
I've got everything apart from a few bits of clothing and little things that I may get at baby shower. If I don't get I'll just get them myself but feel like I don't want to buy loads to then be gifted loads as it'd seem a waste!!
I could tell my legs were going to cramp if I stretched them a certain way so have just been trying to avoid. I got it about 4am the other morning though and was literally screaming in pain, I hate cramp!!

@HerondaleDucks oh she never said to me what type I am other than it's 101 and should be 110. She was on the phone to me for literally a minute I can tell she's always rushing me off so I don't really ever get the full story I don't think.

@CharlieBalf I have for most nights for a little while been in a different bed to dp because with my big pillow just too squashy for us and I feel like neither of us sleep. I had quite bad spd but after taking it really easy it seems to have eased quite a lot but still there.

CharlieBalf · 23/07/2020 22:21

@ChickenDipper28 I get Awful RLSbeven before I was pregnant... There's just nothing I can do about it. Its the worst.

@Laurenlouiise this is my first, a slight miracle ivf baby and we don't know what sex it is yet, a surprise 😊 At the moment I'm waiting for the 32 week scan to determine where the placenta is and if I need a c section or not. Tbh I've not really thought about the uh mechanics of the actual birth yet!
How about you?

Treaclepie19 · 23/07/2020 22:25

Ladies worried about birth, I've not long started the hypnobirthing course from the positive birth company and would recommend it already.
I did hypnobirthing previously and it definitely helped.

BntTowers · 23/07/2020 23:12

Can already tell tonight is going to be another bad nights sleep. Can't get comfortable then when I finally do heart burn rears its head and I have to sit upright.

HerondaleDucks · 23/07/2020 23:17

Bless you @BntTowers hope you get comfy soon. I'm numb again and yoga doesn't seem to have helped! Ahh!

BntTowers · 23/07/2020 23:21

@HerondaleDucks pregnancy is fun isn't it.

HerondaleDucks · 23/07/2020 23:23

Can't say it's as magical and precious as they all make out...

ChickenDipper28 · 23/07/2020 23:41

@AutumnBabyWinterMummy
I struggle with finding foods with enough iron in! I might just buy a supplement which will give me a little boost! I also feel extremely exhausted 😴 Fingers crosses the tablets work for you!
Sounds a good idea 😊
I've found the same! I found stretching my legs a certain way during the night brings on awful cramp which makes me just want to cry 😭

@CharlieBalf It's awful isn't it! I don't think anxiety helps sometimes!

It's not just me suffering with heartburn then 😩 I keep getting really bad acid reflux which feels like it's constantly in my throat and I keep bringing acid up 🤢 Sorry, tmi! Living off Rennie at the moment.

Buzz22 · 24/07/2020 00:17

My heartburn was so bad I was vomiting bile if I leant slightly forward during the day or lay down to sleep! It got progressively worse and I spoke to my GP and was prescribed omeprazole.
I really recommend it if you are struggling to sleep due to acid reflux. Mine isnt 100% gone but it is much more tolerable. I havent been sick since taking it. I also use liquid gaviscon throughout the day when I eat, and usually have a swig at night when I wake up for a wee.
Rennie did not help me at all. Maybe try gaviscon liquid?
Or do speak to your GP if your are suffering as they can medicate it and if that means you sleep a little better, then that's a win!

BettyBotter1 · 24/07/2020 05:30

Awake since 2-something again 😖. Stressing about this and that, not related to pregnancy. Why does everything seem hopeless at 3am? I already feel better now it's 5.30!

@HerondaleDucks and @Laurenlouiise I've been getting numbness in left thigh too! Not badly, just seems to come on if I sit in certain positions and eases when I move.

My midwife said they like pregnant women to have a number above 100 for the iron and 120 if non-pregnant. She also said dried apricots are a good source. I had a letter through post with my blood test results.

I've been getting acid reflux here and there too. I wonder if all of us getting it will have hairy babies?😂 I know I was born with a full head of hair. I've woken up once with cramp - excruciating. Again, I can feel it would come on if I pointed my toes. I'm trying to keep hydrated.

Sorry to rub it in for everyone who has months to go but it's my last day of work today! 🥳🎊❤

BettyBotter1 · 24/07/2020 05:32

Oh and I'm 30 weeks today!

ChickenDipper28 · 24/07/2020 07:59

@Buzz22 It's awful isn't it! ☹️
Thank you for the recommendation! I've never tried Gaviscon or any other liquid types. I'll definitely get some and give that a go. Rennie doesn't really do anything for me either. I just thought it was normal to have it only work a little bit. If that fails I'll ring the GP!

@BettyBotter1 Congrats on 30 weeks 😬 Have a lovely last day at work you lucky thing💃🏻!
There's nothing worse than waking up in the night constantly, but it's even worse when you can't get back to sleep! I was constantly changing sides last night as I was just so uncomfortable and struggled sleeping 😴

Ooh, thank you! That explains iron levels more than the midwife explained it. I've found that Weetabix is also a good source! 4.5mg per 2 Weetabix.

I was wondering the same about hairy babies 🤣 I had loads of hair when I was born and I've got pictures of me 7 months old and my hair was down to my shoulders 😳

BntTowers · 24/07/2020 08:20

@HerondaleDucks I hope your leg numbness calmed last night.
My reflux went eventually then the hip pain started so I hardly slept. Tempted to call in sick today but I know there will only be one team member in if I do and I feel bad doing that. Going to try and squash my birthing ball between the desk and the wall to sit on instead of a chair I think.

@BettyBotter1 lucky you having your last day at work. I have so many left!

BntTowers · 24/07/2020 08:22

@ChickenDipper28 spinach is really high in iron too. I have a bag of frozen that I just sling into everything and it just kinda melts away for the most part.

HerondaleDucks · 24/07/2020 08:23

@BntTowers that sounds awful poor you!
My numbness merged into hip pain as well. Just think ten more weeks of being uncomfortable 🙃 😕

Enjoy your last day @BettyBotter1 sounds like a glorious plan!

MummyBearBoo · 24/07/2020 08:50

Sorry for those of you not sleeping well! My hip pain isn't too bad anymore a pillow holding my bump helps! I my reflux is ok in the day (if I eat carrot sticks when it starts) but if I wake up in the nights it's bad!
I am sleeping ok now but baby still keeps me up til 2sm and has started do a big stretch at about 5.40am do I have not ms sticking out of both sides of my tummy which wakes me up then DD gets up at 6am d SF I I'm not getting that much sleep!!

MummyBearBoo · 24/07/2020 08:54

Posted too early meant I have bits sticking out of each side of my tummy so I don't get much sleep!

Got my 28w midwife appt today -I'm 28+5! Xx

otterbaby · 24/07/2020 09:43

What is everyone wearing now that we're all in the third trimester? I feel like when I go out, I just default to my leggings and a top. Sometimes leggings and a nicer top depending on where I'm going 🤣 I have two cotton dresses but it hasn't really been warm enough lately to wear them. Feeling a bit slobbish! I googled third trimester maternity outfits and it's loads of women wearing skinny jeans which currently sounds like torture. Annoyed because if I was still working as normal, I'd have loads of nice maternity clothes for work but instead I've just invested in 100 pairs of leggings and pajamas.
