@HerondaleDucks have you tried this Oppo ice cream people on the GD page keep going on about? If not it's so good would definitely recommend getting a tub in. It's on offer at Sainsbury's at the moment.

@LostinAusten2 glad your trip to triage went well and baby is ok. It's quite scary going, but agree that knowing other people on here have gone makes it more manageable.

@Treaclepie19 sorry you are hurting, I hope it eases.

MummyBearBoo · 17/08/2020 22:10

As my baby moves all day and a lot of the night DH say he'd feel awkward having sex while baby is wriggling so we haven't since much earlier on!!

@HerondaleDucks -he shouldn't be pressuring you into it you get told bot to for 6 weeks after birth if you're stitched so what is he gonna do then?! You're growing a human ffs!!

Got bad SPD mainly in my left leg Dr says she's not surprised not quite 32 weeks.yet and baby weighs 4lb which us a little above average and my bump size is above 95th percentile!!

Got another scan 3 weeks tomorrow!
Xx

Spark27 · 17/08/2020 22:10

Pleased everything was ok when you went to get checked @LostinAustin2

Hope you feel better soon @Treaclepie19.

I'm definitely feeling all the aches and pains now. This pregnancy feels a lot more tiring and hard going than the last one. Not sure if it's all due to running around after DD, or age, or just the affects of a 2nd pregnancy. Backache, braxton hicks, painful bump, etc.

I got a call from the health visitor. She called at 1150, so excellent timing. I was starving and had just asked DD what she wanted for lunch. Then halfway through the chat DD decided she needed a poo 🙈. Had to get her to call back. Was just a 15/20min chat. She just asked how I was, how the pregnancy was going, what my support network was like, and how I thought DD would deal with it, etc. All very relaxed and friendly. She said the mw usually hands over to them 10-14 days post birth, but said it would probably still be a phone call and not a house visit. x

MrsK89 · 17/08/2020 22:12

@Treaclepie19 hope you feel better soon Flowers

Baby is wriggling like mad at the moment, feels like I'm on a roller-coaster

LostinAusten2 · 17/08/2020 22:20

Thanks all, and hope you feel better soon @Treaclepie19 and @babymama09 x

babymama09 · 17/08/2020 23:02

Thanks again girls. Encounting the next few weeks I am happy to get past 30, nxy stop try to get to 31, then 32,33,34 and 35 at least although with this extra fluid making me look and feel full term wgicg un 6 pregnancies I have never reached I doubt I'll make it the next 2 weeks. Be happy when she's here but I am terrified at the same time xx

Quiffy · 18/08/2020 08:08

@LostinAusten2 Glad everything was okay

@LexiM I get that with his bum, it's as if he's stretching right out and you get this big bum out your side. Super freaky feeling!

@Spark27 ahh I hope mine is as quick as that, supposed to be today at 2pm. Thankfully not at lunch! You don't mess with lunch time

Restless sleep last night, could not get comfy and if I did baby wasn't so would push against mattress until I moved. Bodes well for a diva child...

Treaclepie19 · 18/08/2020 08:41

Thanks everyone. I'm home, just fed up.
They couldn't find a reason for it and sent me home which was fine last night thinking they'd checked everything and the pain had also eased. This morning it's back and I've noticed they didn't record a blood pressure reading so not sure they actually even got one. It normally takes at least 3 tries for them to get it so I did think it was odd.
Anyway not much I can do now.

Hope everyone is okay this morning 😊

MrsK89 · 18/08/2020 12:48

@Treaclepie19 ahh just keep an eye out, if you still feel rubbish don't hesitate to call them back.
Do you have a BP machine you can borrow or maybe the local pharmacy will be able to do one for you x

LexiM · 18/08/2020 13:01

@Quiffy that was me last night. No really obvious reason to be awake just uncomfortable and random limbs pushing out. Hes moved higher up but I cant tell if hes still breech or has moved, either way its uncomfortable. Although I've come to accept the last few weeks are just going to be uncomfortable and I have to suck it up!... with lots of complaining in between Haha.

@Treaclepie19 glad you got checked but sorry you are in pain again. I guess it must depend on where shes sat maybe that affects the pain. I agree if you feel unwell I would get the blood pressure checked. I guess depending on the pain maybe it's not linked and that's why they didnt check.

@Spark27 how annoying with the health visitor. Mine has given me a time but I keep hearing about how they randomly call anyway!

Treaclepie19 · 18/08/2020 13:11

Yeah i think they must have decided where the pain is it didn't sound like pre eclampsia. It also eased off which I'm guessing it wouldn't have done.
I'll just keep an eye on it and see how i go. I'm seeing the midwife Wednesday next week anyway.

Zaalfruit · 18/08/2020 13:33

@Treaclepie19 - that annoys me royally - they bang on about anytime you are worried come in - but when you do you go home not feeling reassured . I hope you feel better , just keep an eye out for any red flags .

Treaclepie19 · 18/08/2020 13:44

Thank you @Zaalfruit. It just annoys me that they told me not to leave it and make sure I went in last night and then made me feel like a timewaster.
Ah well. I did get to have a live birth show though. The woman on the ward bed opposite me gave birth out of nowhere. Curtains were round so I didn't see anything 😂 but she went from 3cm to waters breaking and baby arriving in an hour. Her poor partner missed the birth.

OP posts:
BntTowers · 18/08/2020 14:04

@Treaclepie19 that's something I'm dreading, being getting through active labour really quickly and DH missing it. He has missed so much of everything already.
Glad you got checked out.

Treaclepie19 · 18/08/2020 14:09

Had they listened to the poor woman they'd have realised. She was telling them she needed an epidural. She'd been in labour since 4am and this was 11.30. They insisted because she was only 3cm she couldn't have anything. Eventually gave her some gas and air which she had for about 5 minutes before her waters broke and out shot a baby at 00.34.

I know it's rare but it did get me a little concerned. Lovely to hear the baby crying away though and how happy they all were.

OP posts:
MrsD1990 · 18/08/2020 14:46

@Treaclepie19 argh I'm so worried about husband missing the birth since he's missed so much already! He says he's just going to wait outside the hospital until he's let in - told him he could be there a really long time but he says he doesn't mind

MrsK89 · 18/08/2020 14:48

@Treaclepie19 aww poor girl, this sounds just like my birth. Last time I was begging for gas and air but they wouldn't give me because I wasn't dilated enough. They left the room and DH had to call them back in after 5 mins as I was then 10cm and ready to push! Then they deffo wouldn't give me anything 😑
Anyone know much about the needle they give in the leg to help deliver the placenta I think? The midwives wouldn't wait and just injected me as soon as I had DD. Is that something I can refuse?

Treaclepie19 · 18/08/2020 14:49

@MrsD1990 don't fret too much. Its a rare scenario where that happens. For a time frame, the partner was only in the carpark and she phoned him to come up to the 3rd floor but baby arrived before he got there.
It was really fast.
At my hospital it probably would have happened anyway as they didn't like you being in during the early stages anyway, only active labour even without covid.

OP posts:
Treaclepie19 · 18/08/2020 14:51

@MrsK89 I did feel for her 😔
Its crazy isn't it sometimes how the rules can make things so awkward.

You absolutely don't have to have the injection. Put it in your birth plan if you don't want it.

OP posts:
bluemoon2468 · 18/08/2020 15:09

@MrsK89 you can absolutely refuse it (as you can refuse anything at all when it comes to labour and birth or any other medical procedure!) They shouldn't have given it to you last time without your consent! Put it in your birth plan and make it clear that you don't want it verbally as well. I won't be consenting to vaginal examinations except in certain circumstances - they can't make you do or have anything you don't want!

MrsK89 · 18/08/2020 15:37

Thank you. I wasn't even given the option, I was shaking still recovering from the birth and before I knew it, she had already injected me.
I will put it in my birth plan, I hope they take notice of it x

Spark27 · 18/08/2020 17:20

@MrsK89 it's the injection to help with the passing of the placenta, but you can definitely decline it. Just might take a bit longer to pass the placenta without it.

I get so annoyed when I hear mws have said no to giving pain relief. Some of them try and make people wait and wait, and its just not on. You can have pain relief from the off if you want, ranging from paracetamol up. When I was induced last time I ended up having gas and air for internal examinations, and orimorph as it was ramping up. This was all before I got on the labour ward (probably explains why I needed an epidural).

When you're in there you just have to demand stuff. It may seem rude, but the mws are so busy, that if you almost take the decision out of their hands by demanding stuff, it can make their lives a lot easier and processes quicker.

Spark27 · 18/08/2020 17:24

I've got a really itchy tummy. Think it's probably just skin stretching. Trying to smother myself in moisturiser. Anyone else got any recommendations?

Washed all my 0-3 month clothes today. Crazy to think DD was that small. And it's ridiculous the variation in sizes between brands

MrsD1990 · 18/08/2020 20:51

@Treaclepie19 that's so quick!!

@Spark27 can't wait to wash baby's clothes this weekend, so cute 🥰🥰🥰

otterbaby · 18/08/2020 21:21

So uncomfortable tonight. I feel so breathless, like I can't properly breathe no matter what position I'm in. I think baby has moved her feet up near my ribs. And the restless legs 😩 it sounds like we're all starting to suffer more. Entering the final stretch now, but I feel like it's going to draaaag.
