@NWnature oooh that's good to hear! My car beeps at everything so I'm sure it's got something for that too. Think we'll take the plunge next weekend. I agree on the practice, I was feeling our pram is pretty simple but with a baby with be a whole new kettle of fish.

@Treaclepie19 It's just such a lovely name and the two go so well together. Mine came round to mine eventually too, I told him to find a better alternative and he never did hehe.

@HerondaleDucks definitely have a word with him, we're all too big and tired for that.

@LexiM ahh congratulations to your cousin, that is absolutely amazing that he has a home now.

@Zaalfruit it does feel like we've been pregnant forever, think this end bit will be far the longest.

Treacle81 · 17/08/2020 09:00

Morning girls! 33 weeks today like a few of you are too! 7 weeks to go!!! I'm the opposite @HerondaleDuck my partner doesn't really try anything and I feel a bit miffed at times but he clearly must be sorting himself out, so can't complain. I've lost weight this week but havent been well so not going to panic. Oh i'd of thought the jug was for cotton wool wetting for nappy changing in hospital too. My hospital have said they will provide it and most nappies, just to bring a few, everywhere is different though. Meeting dad and his gf for pub lunch, first time so hopefully quiet. @LexiM that melts my heart, I'm sure he'll have a great life with your family 🥰xx

BettyBotter1 · 17/08/2020 09:37

@Zaalfruit lol we have been pregnant nearly all year!
@LexiM congrats to your cousins that's such a lovely thing to hear. That little boy will be very loved.
@HerondaleDucks definitely talk to him. For me it's been the same as @Treacle81. DH says he feels weird about it knowing the baby is in there!
I assume they approve of the flat cotton wool pads instead of the round balls? That's at least a bit easier.

babymama09 · 17/08/2020 10:32

Hey girls not sure if I updated you about Fridays scan but all things went well, baby is extremely active still and enjoys kicking the monitor away. The fluid reduction is still there 😊 hoping when I go for my scan tomorrow there's more reduction. I am now 30 plus 4, feel huge cos I have polyhydramnios. Has anyone else had this? Also think I have been in really slllloooowwww labor for the last few weeks. Uterus is extremely irritable and keeps contracting. Which then makes me want to cry with the pain. Also lower back and leg pain is horrendous. I have done something to my right knee and can't walk properly and for some reason I need to pee loads like in first trimester and my sickness has come back. Sorry sounds like I am complaining more than being happy. I did find out that my wriggles has hair!! Which explains the heartburn. Keep getting painful shooting pains lower down and cramping slot but I put that down to the extra amniotic fluid. How r u all? The names are lovely I will share mine when I am sure about the middle name. I know the first name but we are keeping it low key atm. Also how r you all doing with baby buying? I think I am going to end up on a mad dash when she's born. Having a c sec at 36 weeks and that's if I don't go in to preterm labour beforehand x

Treaclepie19 · 17/08/2020 10:47

Thats good news @babymama09.
Im feeling the same. Cramps, braxton hicks, achey legs, nausea, irritable stomach. Its been feeling like something is ramping up for a week or two but nothing so far.

I've bought everything now and we're slowly making our way through organising it.
If she comes after 35 weeks I'll have time to do some bits while ds is at school.

AutumnBabyWinterMummy · 17/08/2020 11:11

@HerondaleDucks been the opposite for me! Maybe a few weeks after 20 week scan (when he saw the baby when we went privately) he then wouldn't do it anymore! I think he caved in once but other than that he says he doesn't want to put his little girl through it 😂 even though we know the babies have no clue. I was a bit fedup at first as I thought maybe he didn't fancy me anymore but now at this stage I don't want it anymore far too big and uncomfortable!!

Love all the names! We still don't have one. We have a shortlist but I keep changing my mind xx

Treacle81 · 17/08/2020 12:35

@babymama09 sorry to hear of your struggles but it's gonna be all worth it ❤️ I was just looking at pregnancy app and cannot believe I have 49 DAYS left, 7 weeks seems so much longer but when you see it in days its terrifying lol. 😳😳 @AutumnBabyWinterMummy yes that's how I felt but now I'm thankful he's how he is lol xx

Quiffy · 17/08/2020 13:02

@Treacle81 ahhh I was thinking 7 weeks sounded ages still but 49 days sounds like nothing. Although I'm very excited to not be pregnant when they get here ha.

@babymama09 glad baby still in there. Good luck for scan tomorrow.

BntTowers · 17/08/2020 13:15

@babymama09 glad to hear that the reduction is still there, although the possible slow labour sounds like a lot to deal with.

I could make a fur hat out of one our cats, he wouldnt come in last night then was shouting at 4am, I went down to let him in and he ran in, then back out of the house twice! Luckily he got distracted by a moth and I caught him but I wasn't happy about being woken up at 4am to play chase the cat around the garden in the rain! He has been happily asleep on the sofa all day so far and I'm barely able to keep my eyes open. I don't even have time for lunch time naps at the moment with having to go for a walk after meals.

mamamemmmer · 17/08/2020 13:53

Loving some of these names!

We already have a little girl called Ada and we were thinking of Esther as a name for her sister, do you think they go together?

We haven't had a lot of sex either really, too uncomfortable! Although, when I got close to my due date last time I ended up being the one who wanted it more to get baby out 😂!

Any must buys? I didn't get everything last time so I still feel unprepared! If I could suggest anything to anyone it's to buy a Ewan the Dream Sheep! You'll spend your lifr savings on batteties buuuut it is an amazing thing 🙈.

I have a growth scan tomorrow that I'm nervous about, any advice? Didn't have any last time! X

Quiffy · 17/08/2020 14:57

@Bnttowers Cats are such fun aren't they. Love the making a fur hat out of him, bunch of bampots. Then they just snooze all day while you work.

@mamamemmmer Esther is lovely - adore that name! My growth scan was pretty regular, sonographer gave him a full check over and then measured leg, abdomen and head (although he kept shifting so took longer than she expected). Took around 25 minutes in total - I forgot my notes so don't do that. I had to ask at the end if he was big (he's just on the 97th so big but within range) and I was told back in 2 weeks. It was lovely to see baby again - just think about it as another chance to see her on screen

Treaclepie19 · 17/08/2020 15:36

Esther is lovely :)
I really wish I was having a growth scan. I'm getting nervy!

I do not feel great again today. Deary me 🙈 Think I should just go to bed when ds does!

MrsD1990 · 17/08/2020 15:45

@Treaclepie19 I'm the same, have had no energy all day and fell asleep about 2pm for a little bit. Hope tomorrow is better for both of us, otherwise don't know how I'll last 4 more weeks of work!!

Treaclepie19 · 17/08/2020 15:47

@MrsD1990 I shouldn't complain, I've only got my 4yo to look after and no work!
Im just so tired, crampy, spd, nauseous and seem to be having my IBS play up.

Hope you're feeling better tomorrow Flowers

Hi girls, need your advice in something, I am itching to get the baby clothes out of the loft but I am not sure if that will jinx things with wriggles. It sounds daft I know but I don't feel I can prepare my self atm as I am still in the unknown. Don't get me wrong she's still moving although her patterns have changed again. I'm just worried ill set myself up to fall. Have terrible heartburn atm and feel so sick and crampy but just unsure with what to do with myself as I feel I need to start preparing but keep stopping myself what do you guys think? Also sorry for the tmi but my discharge has increased. Anyone else? X

BntTowers · 17/08/2020 16:00

@mamamemmmer love the name Esther, they go well together.
I had a growth scan last week was quite quick with what they measured, couldn't get the head measurement as baby was so far down into my pelvis. Was great to see baby again on screen and actually see all the movements I was feeling

CharlieBalf · 17/08/2020 16:38

Hey all, 33 weeks for me today, still feeling all sorts of tired and useless. Husband had to make dinner for the pat two nights cause I'm just too big and fat to stand at a cooker for an hour.

Re sex: early on was OK but lately I've had zero interest and it just seems a big old faf. Hubs doesn't mind, he gets 'helped out' occasionally and that's enough I guess 😂 @HerondaleDucks could you try alternatives to actual sex? Maybe have a chat and explain how uncomfortable you are. Get him a special toy os he can help himself? 😜

HerondaleDucks · 17/08/2020 16:49

Yeah definitely. I told him to go see Pam and her five sisters last night! I'm going to have a proper chat with him tonight.

Esther is a beautiful name.

My countdown says 48 today. Now it's under 50 it feels pretty scary!

I had high sugars yesterday so was a bit annoyed at myself but my mum reckons its cause I spent the whole day cleaning like a mad woman. Apparently being stressed brings your sugar levels up... who knew!

Sorry you're feeling tired, achey, in pain etc. It's just my hips giving me grief.

MrsK89 · 17/08/2020 17:46

@babymama09 I would get some clothes out atleast for the hospital bag. You can then just leave it somewhere like the car boot and not have to think about it.
Discharge increasing here aswel, every time I get a cramp the discharge kind of amps up a bit x

Buzz22 · 17/08/2020 18:25

@mamamemmmer Esther is a lovely name and sounds perfect with Ada.
I also have a growth scan tomorrow. I think they measure the head, femur and abdomen so hopefully fairly straightforward. Are you being sent for a growth scan as you're measuring big or small?

@babymama09 I understand how you must be feeling. I didnt want to buy anything this pregnancy in case I jinxed it after last time.
I agree that maybe you could sort some clothes and store them out of the way so it's not constantly on your mind. If you dont get some bits and bobs washed and packed then you wont stop worrying about needing to get it done anyway. Also have the increased discharge too.

babymama09 · 17/08/2020 18:57

Thanks girls, having strong period cramping lower stomach and backache, too of thighs hurt too. I seem to nothing but complain recently but I am worried that I will ignore the early signs... My swab test they did over two weeks ago came back positive. So I am constantly anxious over every pain unsure if relevant or not. Gonna bring it up at scan tomorrow. Just hoping that this braxton hicks and not ignoring labor although my stomach isn't tightening where it hurts its just the cramping and feeling sick. So many things to watch for and unsure whats real and what's not. Worried about wriggles coming too early even though I am 30 plus 4 today. I don't want to compromise her chances of survival because my body isn't playing ball.
Anyone had preterm labor before? I know most are first time mums and this is my 7th so I should know but never had swab back positive before. Or a hydrops baby still be this active before and at this stage. Sorry again for moaning. Xx

mamamemmmer · 17/08/2020 19:17

@babymama09 I felt like I was coming on my period before I went into labour with my first! So keep an eye!

@Buzz22 measuring small, quite a bit smaller than the last appt I had (different midwife though). Baby is really active and kicking so I'm trying to focus on that rather than worrying!

Think we're stickin with Esther! The other option we had was Rosie, but my cousin has just had a baby girl and called her Rosie, so our second option is off the list! I also liked Agnes but my DH isn't sure. X

LostinAusten2 · 17/08/2020 20:11

Hey all, loving the baby names 🥰

And sorry to everyone not feeling great.

Also had a trip to triage today for a reduction in fetal movements, and all turned out 100% fine, but so grateful to everyone on here for sharing their experiences: would’ve been a lot less sure about going in to triage and a lot more stressed about the process if I hadn’t heard your stories - so thank you! ❤️

Treaclepie19 · 17/08/2020 20:26

I could cry this evening. I've got pain on top of my bump and in my left side/ribs. Left it 2 hours and tried to sleep it off but no better so I've phoned triage who said paracetamol and if no better ring back before bedtime.
I feel like its one worry after another 🙈

@babymama09 sounds like it could go either way. I've had period pains and cramps and all but the consultant said mine is likely linked to baby moving and my bad spd. Hope all is okay.

@LostinAusten2 I'm glad all was okay :)

LexiM · 17/08/2020 20:51

@babymama09 feel free to complain, sounds like your feeling very uncomfortable. Glad baby is still doing well and hope you feel a little more relaxed at some point before she arrives! What is the swab for?
I personally would maybe get enough clothes out and ready that if things start moving you can at least be relaxed that you have a few outfits ready without getting everything out.

@Treaclepie19 sorry you are feeling in pain, I hope it goes soon for you. I can imagine they get lots of calls for what they consider generic pains at this stage.

@LostinAusten2 glad everything is ok with baby, definitely worth checking. I agree about it being reassuring hearing that people go in and get checked etc.

@mamamemmmer Esther goes perfectly. I love Rosie too but can see why you no longer want to use it. Glad baby is moving well etc

@Buzz22 hope your scan goes well too. I haven't had any extra one but always think it's good when they check although know they arent extremely accurate in terms of guessing the weight.

Went to the pub today with my husband for lunch which was nice, felt like a really "normal" day out and cheap with the discount! I was so full after though and slept for hours this afternoon. I thought baby had moved as my bump was really up on one side, some days I can really feel the head and feet near the surface. Its such a nice but such a weird feeling!
