Hi!
I very recently got my positive result after a FET. (This is my second child. First one conceived through a fresh cycle). Just wondered anyone in a similar position wanted to join, and help keep us calm until scan day!

I am only 4+2 weeks. Still so, so early. Can’t wait for my 7 week scan!

@MorgenMuffel

I'm also due to stop cyclogest at 12 weeks and also clexane injections. I feel ok about stopping the progesterone as the clinic saw a corpus luteum at the scan which also pumps out progesterone and I know you only really need it until the placenta takes over

Clexane I'm a bit more anxious about stopping as with my DD I had to take clexane continuously until 3 months AFTER birth but I just feel like I've been on constant injections now for years and I'm looking forward to stopping

Also getting clexane is a faff - even though my NHS consultant insisted I take it when I was having DD my local NHS CCG refused to honour the prescriptions so I had to drive over to the hospital every 2 weeks to get more - at the moment getting it via my IVF clinic but it's expensive 😬

ValidUser · 29/07/2020 20:03

@Janefx40 thinking of you, and do what you need to do. Sounds like a stressful few days. x

RosettaR · 29/07/2020 21:13

@LemonRabbit I'm also caught between wanting my first scan to come and being scared to know. Best of luck for Friday, I'll have everything crossed.

I'm not so nauseous so far as many of you are describing, but I guess I'm a bit behind at only just over 5 weeks. I've got a little nauseous over the last couple of days when I present myself with food. Not really feeling the tiredness either - I've got more energy than I did for most of the IVF cycle.

@Janefx40 sorry you've got more uncertainty. We will be thinking of you and sending positive vibes.

@MorgenMuffel @ivfdreaming i stop progesterone at 8 weeks. It makes me a bit nervous as so many clinics keep you going until week 10 or 12, but I guess I just have to trust my clinic. I've read that by 8 weeks the placenta should have formed and be pumping out progesterone.

BabySweet85 · 29/07/2020 21:40

Hi all! I am moving over to this thread from the infertility one. I had my first round of IVF May/June, a BFP and my 7 week scan today. They found a heartbeat and measurements are good! I recognise some names! Can’t wait to go on this journey with you all and share our ups and downs together ❤️

P.S I need to catch up on all the messages so I know who everybody is!

LemonRabbit · 30/07/2020 00:01

@BabySweet85
Welcome! Glad your scan went well today. It must be wonderful/a relief to know things look good. Smile

@RosettaR @MorgenMuffel
Yeah my clinic stops progesterone at 8w too. I’ll be glad to stop, esp because of a wee bit irritation.
I don’t take clexane, so I don’t know about that. I’m taking tablets called progynova. I think they stop around the 8w mark too, but I suppose I’ll be told more on Friday. This is my first cycle, so I try to just focus on one bit at a time or else I get a bit confused. Blush

BabySweet85 · 30/07/2020 07:36

Re: progesterone - I was told at my 7 week scan I can stop cyclogest now, or carry on if I want but for only 3/4 days max.

BeHereNowx32 · 30/07/2020 07:58

@MorgenMuffel I think I’ve to take my progesterone for 49 days after the cycle. That might not the actual number but it’s around 12 weeks. I will probably use up all the medication that they give me. I think I would wait until the 12 weeks scan if you feel up to it, but not if it’s making you feel unwell at all.

With my fresh cycle I didn’t need to carry on with progesterone. So, this feels like a lot!

@Janefx40 sending you love.

I’m hoping I can spend less time online, but I am slightly addicted. Feel like I’m obsessing a little over symptoms etc.

@RosettaR I don’t have any sickness yet. Not much going on tbh, just feel quite drained.

@BabySweet85 congrats. Lovely news that your scan went well. X

It might actually be 56 days... I have it written down somewhere anyway!

Great to see you over here! Glad the scan went well x

ivfdreaming · 31/07/2020 09:32

Morning all - feeling anxious and stressed out today ahead of my 10 week scan this afternoon - the earliest I could get was 3pm! So all day to stress! Really hoping the smaller twin is still ok in there - I look huge today though and it's definitely not bloating - I look at least 5 months pregnant already so hoping that's a good sign that both babies are growing

RosettaR · 31/07/2020 10:05

@ivfdreaming can't believe you're at 10 weeks already! Good luck with the scan this afternoon.

I'm stressing out this morning. I have IBS generally and when it's bad it makes me lose weight (which technically IBS doesnt). It was completely under control before IVF and mostly under control throughout it but since embryo transfer I'm having diarrhea all the time and I can't shake it. I'd lost 5lb and i thought it had stabilised, but then in the last few days I've lost another 3lb somehow. The GP is meant to be ringing me but I know there's nothing they can do, I just have to hope it stabilises soon, and that it hasn't harmed the pregnancy.

BeHereNowx32 · 31/07/2020 10:24

@ivfdreaming good luck! Shame you need to wait until 3pm. Hope everything looks good and you can enjoy this exciting moment.

@RosettaR hope the gp can help you. I’m sure it won’t affect pregnancy. It could just make you feel really rubbish! Hope you’re better soon.

I’m just hungry this morning. I look such a mess but need motivation to sort myself out lol.

Hope everyone can enjoy the sunny weekend x

@ivfdreaming good luck with your scan! Let us know how it goes! I’m sure all will be fine!

MorgenMuffel · 31/07/2020 11:46

@babysweet85 welcome! glad the scan went well and lovely to see another graduate from our bus on here.

@ivfdreaming @RosettaR @BeHereNowx32 @BabySweet85its so confusing that different clinics say different things about when to stop! I've decided, for my own peace of mind more than anything else, to keep going with the cyclogest until the scan. Aware its probably not doing much now, but I know I would always be wondering "what if" if I stopped and then there was an issue. A looking forward to stopping though! Not long to go - Tuesday and we will get to see the little bean again :D

@ivfdreaming good luck with the scan this afternoon!

@RosettaR sorry to hear your IBS is flaring up - I also have it (but -C rather than -D usually) and the hormones and extra progesterone have been messing with me something silly. Hope the doc can help, and as horrible as it is remember it wont affect your embryo developing as they firstly have the yoke sack and then are basically parasites and suck what they need from you! Whilst it might make you feel crappy it wont harm baby.

@beherenowx32 being hungry is a good sign! I have barely stopped eating - partly because it really helped my nausea. A lot of my symptoms are reducing now, but still exhausted (and not sleeping either), burping for England and very bloated, and hungry all the time. Also getting some fun new ones like leg cramps in the middle of the night :(

LemonRabbit · 31/07/2020 12:33

Hi ladies,
Bad news for me today unfortunately. The sac was empty. No heartbeat, literally nothing to see.
I need to keep doing all the drugs for a week and go back for another scan. Just in case. It feels so cruel to have to wait for a week. Sad
The dr said it’s likely been an early miscarriage and as soon as I stop meds, will have a period.
I did feel like it all working on my first round was too good to be true. I feel so betrayed by my body. I have sore boobs and feel nauseous but for nothing.
I think I’m going to check out of this group now...not really part of the BFP club anymore...but good luck to everyone. We’ve all tried pretty hard to become pregnant so I wish you all well. Xxx

takingthistooseriously · 31/07/2020 12:56

Hi all, I have also (very!) slowly made my way over from the IVF thread, hoping i'm ok to join in still.. I'm currently 10+4 and waiting for my next private scan on 8th and 12 wk scan on 10th. Just passing the time really, my symptoms come and go, some days i'm fine and others I feel like death and need to stay in bed, it's so unpredictable so I'm finding work a bit tricky! It's nice to see some familiar names :) everything crossed for your scan today @ivfdreaming

@LemonRabbit I'm so sorry you've had bad news. It's so awful that our bodies do that and you have all the awful symptoms but none of the joy at the end. Fingers crossed that it was just too early and you get better news next week. Do you have any in the freezer in case of another round?

BabySweet85 · 31/07/2020 12:59

@LemonRabbit so sorry to hear that. Look after yourself today and good luck on all your future journeys xxx

BabySweet85 · 31/07/2020 13:00

@takingthistooseriously welcome! I remember you from our other thread!

ivfdreaming · 31/07/2020 13:00

@LemonRabbit

So sorry it's bad news

@takingthistooseriously

Good to see you over here too x

BeHereNowx32 · 31/07/2020 13:09

@LemonRabbit oh I’m so so sorry. This is so sad. Wishing you all the best for the next step that you take.

@takingthistooseriously hi. It’s nice to have some private scans in between. I really loved them with my first pregnancy.

My scan is on Wednesday. I am actually so nervous 😟. I’m going to find it really hard to relax until then. X

Thanks everyone. It’s nice to get your messages even if it doesn’t change my situation.

@takingthistooseriously
Welcome and hope scans go well. It will be lovely to see the developments if you’ve got a few booked in.
I have 3 more day 5 embies and 1xday 6 in the freezer. So not all hope is lost. Although it’ll be back to waiting for me! Waiting for next week...waiting for period...waiting for next cycle slot...

@BeHereNowx32
Good luck for Wednesday’s scan. It’s easy to say. but try not to be anxious. Hope you can enjoy some sun today xx

MorgenMuffel · 31/07/2020 14:13

@LemonRabbit So sorry it's bad news, but you are in such a great position with your frosties. Take some time to be kind to yourself and grieve this loss, and carry on once you are ready.

@takingthistooseriously good to see you over here too!

@BeHereNowx32 I have serious "scanxiety" too. But at the end of the day worrying isn't going to change anything so I try and stay positive each day with a mantra of "today I am pregnant" - not that it always helps!

ivfdreaming · 31/07/2020 14:26

@MorgenMuffel

Today I definitely Feel pregnant - I'm so bloody hot and the paddling pool has a puncture 😬😢

MorgenMuffel · 31/07/2020 15:21

@ivfdreaming I know how you feel. DH is flopping about the house and being all dramatic, like he is the only one in this heat! My next door neighbours put their paddling pool up earlier and I was seriously tempted to jump over the fence and use it when they went out 🤣 Hope it was nice and cool at your clinic at least. My friend is 32 weeks at the moment...very glad we are having winter babies!

ivfdreaming · 31/07/2020 16:17

So scan update both babies doing well - the gestational sac on the smaller one looks bigger now so all the water I've drink over the last 2 weeks must have worked! Both really good heartbeats and measuring within a couple of days of each other which makes sense as one was a hatching embryo and the other was an expanded frozen on day 6

Is anyone here going to pay to have the NIPT test? Think I'm going to have it done? After £35k on IVF I suppose what's another £500 🤣
