Okay I'm still super nervous but time to take the plunge and started a Grad bus for the recent BFPs from the main thread. According to NHS calculator I'm due 18th March and it's #1 for me 😬

How is everyone feeling? Anyone booked an early scan? x

@Cocoblue22 interesting that your GP makes referrals to a midwife, near me in London you just refer directly to the hospital and then get a letter about booking appt but midwife didn't call me last time 😩 need to make the plunge and make a decision on hospital.

@Noble89 I'm so excited for you we are actually the same person, so happy you told OH, it is early but just try and enjoy it and be happy until you have a reason to think anything else ❤️

@SmileyT thanks for the thread my due date is 16th March if everything goes ok (can't stop saying that at the minute ). I'm not booking an early scan think I've built up a lot of anxiety around scans now due to last one I had.
No sickness yet, only real symptoms are tiredness, really greasy hair and starving all the time xx

LittleRa · 12/07/2020 11:00

Yay! Hello everyone, checking in, thank you @SmileyT 💕

So how early is too early to order maternity clothes 🙈

Cocoblue22 · 12/07/2020 11:08

Thanks for the new bus @SmileyT!

My DD is 16th March (although I'll be having an elective c section at 39weeks so baby's birthday should be the week before I'm thinking probs around 9th ish? And this is baby #2 for us!

I'm feeling hungry and tired. My boobs were more sore with my first pregnancy but they are still a little bit. Also I've been getting cold hands and feet a bit I've noticed. I also feel very bloated and like my belly is already popping out but that could be all the Oreo chocolate 🤣

I need to get my maternity clothes out of the loft and wash them all I may have also ordered a few new things 🤫 I started showing really early with ds so I'll be wanting to get the comfy clothes out don't think my jeans fit anyway post lockdown!

I've got a scan booked for 29th at private clinic which will be different having one so early this time as I waited until the 12 week scan with DS which felt ages 🤞🏻 all goes well and we see our little bean! Did another CB digital yesterday but it still said 1-2 weeks. FRERs are still getting darker so that's good!

Not told anyone other than DH and one friend I had confided in that we are TTC x

LittleRa · 12/07/2020 11:15

@Cocoblue22 I got rid of all my maternity clothes from when I had DD (now 6yo) because I split from exh and thought well that’s it! I gave them away to friends who were pregnant and to charity. Definitely good timing coming out of lockdown and moving towards elastics yes waistbands and floaty dresses! I’ve had a look on ASOS and there’s a good sale on there.

NHS calculator has my due date as 19th March. First day of last period was 6th June and I have long cycles (34 days).

I’m going to phone my doctor’s surgery on Monday and ask what the next steps are.

No symptoms really! Maybe some little fluttery feelings in my tummy.

LittleRa · 12/07/2020 11:16

That should say elasticised waistbands!

SmileyT · 12/07/2020 11:33

@Dipsy77 ahh be grateful for no sickness, I feel like I have no symptoms at all either apart from being tired 😴 I'm always hungry so can't really tell the difference too much with that 😂

@LittleRa have you decided on a hospital? my GP surgery doesn't confirm pregnancy so I have to go for a straight referral to hospital but can't decide which one 😩 haha more fun to get new mat clothes anyway 👌🏾

@Cocoblue22 I think with the 2nd you are supposed to pop quicker, I wasn't expecting to be out of my normal clothes for another 3 months or so, but could be completely wrong and need them earlier. Exciting to get a private scan, I've booked one for the beginning of August but seems bloody ages away 🤪

Sorry I'm probably clueless with it being my 1st but going to get myself referred to the hospital next week 🙈

LittleRa · 12/07/2020 11:37

@SmileyT I had a good experience at the hospital I had my DD at last time, but since then a new hospital has been built, it’s probably about the same distance away in the opposite direction and I know of a few people who’ve given birth there since it opened and had a good experience too. I had a water birth last time and would love one again this time if possible! Last time I can remember booking onto a tour of the hospital and maternity unit etc to help decide but I’d imagine that’s all off the cards now!

Cocoblue22 · 12/07/2020 12:36

@SmileyT the way they do it here is you ring up your gp reception and then they inform the community midwife then she rang me. Then you normally get a booking appointment letter and go to your drs surgery for that at about 8-10 weeks then your hospital scan at 12 weeks. I've chosen to give birth at our closest hospital as I'm under their care anyway and also that's where I had my son. I thought that about clothes with my first but literally by 6 weeks my jeans already felt snug and not comfy as I bloated! I was deffo in maternity clothes by around 8 weeks but mainly like body con or floaty dresses with leggings or tights....FYI maternity tights are soooo much comfier than normal tights no digging in waist bands! I just thought of it as getting my money's worth out of my maternity clothes! X

@LittleRa all hail the elastic waistband haha! Aww well you'll be able to buy some nice new maternity clothes now :) so jel of your water birth that's what I wanted last time but it didn't go remotely how I'd planned! Hardly ever does it seems! I don't think I'll ever experience a water birth but hey ho nevermind! X

Getting a bit of cramping today but it could just be wind! X

Noble89 · 12/07/2020 14:46

Hiiii ladies!

So happy to be here. Being cautiously optimistic as it's super duper early. I'm only 10 DPO and EDD would be 25/3/21.

I think I'll get an early scan on the NHS due to my previous molar pregnancy. They say most of the time that's like being struck by lightning but once you've had one you are more likely to have another. Still rare but I think they like to be cautious. I think I'll give it a week or two to ensure things are progressing then speak to my gynae oncologist from the specialist hospital that death with my molar to see what they recommend before I speak to any local docs/midwives.

So glad to have you ladies to talk to. I'm trying hard to keep my anxiety under control and just enjoy the process 😊

Cocoblue22 · 12/07/2020 15:08

@Noble89 I'm sure everything will be fine this time but I understand you feeling nervous. I feel nervous too I think the early days are always scary but try not to worry. Hopefully in a few weeks you'll feel a bit more reassured. I'm looking forward to having my early scan but it seems so long away little bean has got some growing to do over the next few weeks first x

SmileyT · 12/07/2020 15:31

@LittleRa @Cocoblue22 thanks for all that info ladies 🙏 there is a hospital about a 5min drive from me and I've taken the plunge and made the referral.

@Noble89 I am also trying hard to keep my anxiety under control but also try to be really grateful and happy until I have something to worry about.

My nipple soreness seems to have really stopped now which is making me worry and I really should stop taking pregnancy tests will 100% stop when I get 3+ on CB weeks 😂

OP posts:
Cocoblue22 · 12/07/2020 16:09

@SmileyT mine aren't that sore this time either not how I remember them being with DS! Every pregnancy is different tho and some women don't get sore boobs at all in any pregnancy so I certainly wouldn't worry about that. I keep feeling crampy but it's prob everything stretching out! X

SmileyT · 12/07/2020 16:16

@Cocoblue22 I know it's really unpleasant but I thought I was having cramps earlier then sat on the loo for about 20mins and had a 💩 and felt so much better, so think some of mine have been has/ constipation mix 🙈

OP posts:
Cocoblue22 · 12/07/2020 17:35

Haha @SmileyT I think that's also a common symptom! X

Anyone else been getting head aches? X

Noble89 · 12/07/2020 18:03

It's nausea for me. And I've oddly got one tingly/itchy boob 😂.

Completely different to my molar already. My number one symptom last time was horrible fatigue. I did suffer with nausea but not till much later and it was very mild and I never got sore boobs.

The fact this pregnancy feels different already is weirdly comforting. Like I got my BFP at 8DPO where they were stark white till 11DPO with my molar. And one of the things that made me wonder is the fact I've been feeling nauseous for days now and it seems to be getting worse by the day 😷

Cocoblue22 · 12/07/2020 18:32

@Noble89 how/when did you find out about your molar pregnancy if you don't mind me asking? Don't know much about it x

Noble89 · 12/07/2020 19:46

@Cocoblue22 not at all!

I had a private early scan at 8 weeks. The lady who did it said everything looked perfect but I had my dates wrong and I was actually only 6 weeks. I knew then something was wrong, I'd been tracking ovulation so I knew I was definitely 8 weeks. I told my midwife and she really fobbed me off and said its really easy to get dates and measurements wrong etc and insisted everything was fine if I'd seen a heartbeat (which I had)

Fast forward a month and I went for my 12 week scan. They couldn't find a heartbeat and said the baby had stopped growing at 7 weeks. No one mentioned a molar then and as far as I'm aware no one suspected as I was given the option to wait to miscarry naturally or have a D&C and I don't think they'd have given me the option had they suspected anything.

Luckily I opted for the D&C and that went smoothly. A couple of weeks later I got a letter in the post saying they'd run tests on the placenta as it looked abnormal and that the tests indicated a molar pregnancy and they'd booked me in with a consultant gynae at my local hospital (which is a major hospital)

I scared myself witless on Google. Went to the consultant appointment and he was running so late I Sawa junior doctor who honestly didn't have a clue what she was talking about. Molars are super rare, but even from my own research it was clear to me she was giving me incorrect information so I demanded to see the consultant. He basically apologised for her mistake and said look this is so rare the protocol is that we don't touch you,we refer you to a specialist centre in Sheffield who will be in touch to let you know what happens.

I was absolutely convinced I was going to get cancer and need chemo and all sorts after meeting them but Sheffield were amazing. Reassured me I'd had the less dangerous type of molar pregnancy as they'd retested the placenta and said the likelihood of me developing cancer was less than 5% but that they'd monitor me until I was completely out of the woods.

I had 6 months of blood/urine tests every 2 weeks until my HCG level returned to normal and then they discharged me and told me I was free to try again in May 😊

SmileyT · 12/07/2020 19:58

@Cocoblue22 I've got a banging headache today.. I'm going to have to start upping my water as fear I may be dehydrated as it's been warmer today x

@Noble89 as strange as it sounds I kinda wish I had nausea so I'd know if it went away and there was something to worry about. I'm honestly so happy you've got your BFP after you've had to put ttc on hold for so long 🙏

Has anyone got any thoughts about holidays, I'll obviously ask the midwife but just wondering if any of you have any holidays booked already? I've booked a holiday for November so if everything goes to plan it's the perfect time according to NHS but just wondering on you guys thoughts x 😎 Also prenatal vits? I'm just taking the same stuff as pre-conception has anyone made any changes? x

OP posts:
Noble89 · 12/07/2020 21:10

@SmileyT I get that. As unpleasant as it is I'm finding it comforting as it's a change from my last Pregnancy.

In terms of holidays we don't have any booked but if I did I'd be happy to go..enjoy your last few months as a duo!

I take seven seas trying to conceive vits. I'll finish my packet then switch onto the pregnancy ones.

Also, I've no idea if it contributed to my BFP but I started taking coq10 and omega 3 this month too.

I'm sure omega 3 is fine but actually don't know if I should stop taking the coq10 now?

Cocoblue22 · 12/07/2020 21:26

@Noble89 I am so sorry you went through that it sounds awful! Thanks for sharing though I didn't know much about it as it's not something people openly talk about I don't think I know anyone who's been through that but might do maybe they just haven't said. I'm glad you got good care afterwards at Sheffield. You're very strong for being so positive throughout and you definitely deserve a super sticky healthy bean this time x

@SmileyT I've been drinking like a fish (in a squash context) but I've had a dull ache for a few days it's not stopping me functioning but I'm aware it's there in the background. I've been soooo thirsty and so drinking more and then peeing more! I'm still taking pregnacare and extra folic acid due to medical issues. No not going on holiday until next summer now I'd ask the midwife and see what they say. Time wise in the pregnancy it's a good time but depends how you feel and how things with corona are etc? Also nausea can come and go. I didn't get much sickeness with DS I was sick twice at the smell of an onion and the smell of the dishwasher but other than that I just felt a bit queasy now and again and if I ate it generally went away so maybe were just too efficient with the snacks 🤣 x

SmileyT · 12/07/2020 21:27

@Noble89 actually COQ10 is one that I stopped as a quick google search said it was best to, no negative data around it but not enough to be conclusive it was good in pregnancy. Omega 3 is in the pregnancare pregnancy max pack so that must be good 👌🏾 I'm glad you are feeling positive about it all, I'm already in bed, my biggest symptom is insomnia been up at 4am the last few days and it doesn't help with the exhaustion 😴

And that's what I was thinking about the holiday it's a way off anyway, just taking it a day at a time right now x

OP posts:
Cocoblue22 · 13/07/2020 07:34

@SmileyT I also have been waking at 4am this week managed to go back to sleep the last few mornings too. I feel most tired in the late afternoon and early evening. X

Just done another FRER at 17dpo this morning and the line came up before the control line and is equally as dark as it if not darker so that's good. I have one more left to use up so might use that later in the week thinking of doing CB digital towards end of the week to hopefully see it say 2-3 weeks 🤞🏻though I've equally heard they aren't that reliable and aren't meant to be used like that but I've got two left so I'll use them up over next few weeks x

LittleRa · 13/07/2020 09:42

Good morning ladies, hope you’re all well! It feels odd not poas this morning 😂 as I have Fri, Sat and Sun mornings so I think it’s time to stop. Although I haven’t done a CB digital with the weeks on, just a digital with the word.

I’ve phoned my doctor’s surgery this morning. The first question they asked was are you happy with the pregnancy? When I said yes she congratulated me and then when we were speaking she said I can hear you smiling down the phone!

She said I don’t need to inform the GP but that she is posting me out a Pregnancy Pack with info and there’ll be an antenatal form to fill in and return with info like height and weight, last period etc.

Noble89 · 13/07/2020 09:55

@Cocoblue22 no problem. I'd never even heard of it till it happened to me so I think it's good to share. These forums have me most of the information I needed early on and I'm always conscious someone could stumble on something I've posted and see it all turns out ok in the end 😊

@SmileyT thanks, I shall stop COQ10 today too.

Have you all informed the docs? I took another test this morning and it's a bit darker again so looks to be progressing. I've got one more frer which I'll take tomorrow and then I've got a digital with weeks indicator which I'll take on Thursday when AF would be due. Assuming that's still all good I'll call my doc.

I have already spoken to the specialist in Sheffield this morning though. They said I should have an early scan at 7-8 weeks and to tell the midwife that's what they recommend. They said if the MW says it's not needed etc just let them know and they will contact her to ensure I get one so that's made me feel better.

I'm with you on the fatigue/early wake up. I couldn't keep my eyes open last night so went to bed at 8 and was asleep my 9 😂. I woke up at 5am and put the TV on intending to have a casual hour then get up. Fell back to sleep around 6 and woke up at 9 😂

Nausea is still ever present for me. The only time it goes is when I'm eating oddly enough. But within half an hour of finishing it's back.

I am noticing mild cramping/discomfort like back ache. It's barely there, not the same level I get with my period, just a niggle. Anyone else?
