Okay I'm still super nervous but time to take the plunge and started a Grad bus for the recent BFPs from the main thread. According to NHS calculator I'm due 18th March and it's #1 for me 😬

@Noble89 sorry nausea is ramping up for you, mines really chilled out and after the bad news on the fb group I suddenly wanted to see little one 🙈 hope you are feeling better for today and the weekend. I actually used your trick yesterday of a fruit smoothie first thing and had me feeling much better all day x

@FairyLights2 thanks lovely 😊 and great news that your OH can come to your NHS scans, it's actually giving me hope that my OH may make my 20week one as so many hospitals have relaxed already x

@SmileyT Your scan pic is so lovely!! I'm glad you're more reassured now.

EDD 29/03/2021! Madness.

I've been so nauseous the last two days and I can't eat meat!!!! Physically cannot eat it.

Noble89 · 14/08/2020 07:49

@SmileyToh I'm glad the smoothie helped. It's literally the only goodness I'm getting as everything else I can eat is beige 😂

@FairyLights2 good news about your partner being able to attend. I was told my partner could come to the hospital when I went for my early scan but that he'd have to wait in the waiting room. The lady who did my scan was so lovely and after she heard my history said 'i think you deserve to have him here with you' and called him into the room which was really nice of her. Hoping by the time I get to 12 weeks he will definitely be allowed in.

@zippityzip I'm exactly the same! No meat at all. Basically I eat plain carbs like toast and smoothies and that's it 😭. I'm worried as I cannot possibly be getting enough protein. Do the pre-natal vitamins provide everything the baby needs?

zippityzip · 14/08/2020 07:53

@Noble89 Apparently the baby will just steal from your body anything it needs. I was terribly anemic last pregnancy but the baby was doing great. The vitamins will help.

I'm hoping that it's just an early pregnancy phase and I'll get over it but I've tried everything and I literally cannot put it in my mouth without heaving.

God I love steak 😭😭 and bacon.

Last nights dinner was a punnet of cold grapes whilst my DH wolfed down two servings of sweet chilli chicken and cous cous that I had made.

samilicious · 14/08/2020 07:56

@SmileyT lovely scan pic! 🥰
My EDD is 16th April according to the app I put the most data in. But didn't record ovulation last month because I was having a lil break from TTC... bloody typical! And that CB days test put me at 5+ weeks on Sunday so who knows. I always had corker test lines last time, even days after I miscarried so think it might just be normal for me to have high hormones 🤪
Scan at 6+5 on Tuesday 25th August

No booking in appt yet, probably won't get that for another week or two. Rang the hospital about a week ago - mine will be same as yours. Phone consultation and going in for tests.

Thanks for taking care of us creating the new threads 😘 so happy you feel better now after seeing your beautiful little baba

zippityzip · 14/08/2020 08:19

@samilicious Not long until your first scan!!!

Noble89 · 14/08/2020 08:20

@zippityzip I feel like bubs is definitely sucking the life out of me as I'm really starting to feel quite rotten with nausea and fatigue. Weeks 6-9 are supposedly the 'height' of things and then there's a gradual improvement for the rest of the first trimester. I'm 8+1 so just keep telling myself I should start to feel better soon.

Similar story in this house. OH had a lovely home made chicken tikka masala for tea and I had frosties 🙄

Anyone else gone off stuff they usually love? I'm addicted to cups of tea. Like legit cannot get through the day without about 10 cuppas usually. I switched to decaf last time I got pregnant and stuck with it after my MC as I knew we'd be trying again and I couldn't drink the same amount of tea if it's caffeinated during pregnancy but I needn't have bothered as I just really don't want a cuppa. It's just so bizarre for me as it's usually my favourite thing in the world!

I had my booking appointment over the phone last week and my midwife dropped my notes off yesterday. It's pathetic but I'm so excited to have my little book 😂. I also got my exemption certificate through too.

zippityzip · 14/08/2020 08:23

@Noble89 I don't have an exemption certificate!!! How long do I have to wait for mine lol.

I got all my notes at my booking in appointment. It was lovely, feels very official!!

Yep I'm feeling quite shit as well, and not sleeping great either. Up to pee four times in the night as well which I didn't remember doing until the last trimester. Sigh.

samilicious · 14/08/2020 08:31

@zippityzip a week and 4 days, not that I'm counting 😉 It's at Window to the Womb so thinking it's not going to be the best - want to find a great independent one after reading experiences on here

Feel like the days really drag when I start worrying so trying to plan loads of stuff in to distract us. Absolutely abusing this Eat Out to Help Out scheme 😂 want to go to a fruit farm at some point with my sis, and got this projector to make a lil outdoor cinema as it's getting darker earlier now. Does anyone have any nice plans in the coming weeks excluding our milestones?

blodyn91 · 14/08/2020 08:38

@Noble89 I am very excited to receive my book 🤣 also protein wise, I take protein shakes, I have a chocolate orange flavour one and it is divine! Or if you do have cereal with milk, milk is around 3% protein, so you are getting some protein in you. Can you stomach eggs?

Mococo1 · 14/08/2020 08:40

@Noble89 I used to live on tea! Also switched to decaf after my MCs and now just barely drink it - it's not that it's unappealing I just don't fancy it but also could be the heat? 🤷🏽‍♀️ I have been forcing myself to have a few cups of decaf here and there as it helps with the hunger...I'm also off chocolate doesn't repel me but the cravings I used to have are no longer there anymore! I had a mini magnum last night after ageees and tasted just fine tho!- I love fizzy sweets atm. Woke up this morning and had three fizzy cola laces for breakfast 😑 GD here I come lol

Am I daft to get another scan soon? I just get really scared if I feel normal I don't think I can wait till 9.5/10w

blodyn91 · 14/08/2020 08:41

@samilicious I had a multisport race planned early September, but just got an email confirming its cancelled. So now I have zero plans 🙈

Sausage1990 · 14/08/2020 08:43

@zippityzip is right @Noble89 baby takes everything it needs from you so they never go without, especially once the placenta is formed. It's the mother who can become deficient. With regards to protein, adult requirements are actually fairly low and you can get protein from non meat sources too like Greek yogurt, pulses, nuts, quorn (including the crispy nuggets that taste like McChicken nuggets), cheese & eggs. And I'd we are only taking in smaller amounts of protein the body is very clever and actually utilises what we do eat much better... Ie. If we eat alot of protein the body will only use what is needs & doesn't utilise all the available protein because it doesn't need it all but if we don't eat much the body will really make the most of what we do eat so for the few weeks we struggle with meat, your body will cope 😊

@SmileyT ahhh lush scan & cute little bean 💕 so glad its reassured you. I'd really like an early scan for reassurance because atm I'm just keep worrying something is going to go wrong. I don't know why, probably the CP, but I just can't shut it off in my brain. Logically there's every chance this is all going to go very smoothly, and there is no reason for it not to, it's just over the years with my job I've consumed alot of information about baby loss and I work with a higher risk group of ladies so the chances are higher of baby loss, so my experience demographic is skewed... And it's just making me nervous. I'm not even 5 weeks yet so I've got a while to go before I can get a scan... Gosh sorry I'm such a worry wart 🙈 I don't mean to be. I really want to relax and enjoy this. Xx

Sausage1990 · 14/08/2020 08:47

Protein is fairly low compared to what most people think. It's about 70g a day in pregnancy (it's dependent on your weight)*

Noble89 · 14/08/2020 08:55

@zippityzip mine came within a week of my booking appointment so if you've had yours maybe chase up? My booking was done over the phone and she said she'd post my book which she's now done so I'm feeling all set 😂.

@blodyn91 yes I do drink lots of milk actually. I'm obsessed with frosties and milk and chucking raisins in with them at the moment. Eggs are a no though 😷

@Mococo1 omg I read fizzy laces and thought 'i must have them now' as soon as OH gets up I'm sending him to the shop 😂.

@Sausage1990 I can stomach a cheese toastie so hopefully I'm getting something from the cheese and all the mill with the cereal.

In other news I think I might have a UTI. I have a long history of recurrent UTIs and at one point had to take antibiotics for 6 months straight to get them under control. I usually instantly know the symptoms but the midwife said I'll be really prone to them again while pregnant but the symptoms might be much milder. The last couple of days I've had nigly familiar aches in my bladder and a couple times a bit of discomfort when I've gone to the loo so I've called the docs for some advice just to see what they think. Hopefully I can nip up and pee in a pot and they can test it for me. All in all I feel thoroughly under the weather. I think a very chilled weekend is in order for me.

blodyn91 · 14/08/2020 09:10

Got the 3+ at what femometr predicts as 23 dpo 👌
@Noble89 UTI are a pain! Hope its all sorted soon for you. Cranberry juice?

July Bus Graduates ❤️
Sausage1990 · 14/08/2020 09:24

Yay @blodyn91 😊 hopefully OH will believe your pregnant now haha

@Noble89 haha yes youre getting protein from cheese & milk and maybe add some Greek yogurt to your smoothies to boost it up without the thought and flavour of yogurt 👍🏻

Is anyone nervous about telling their parents about their pregnancy? I'm a 30yr old grown adult and I'm really nervous about telling my mam & dad... They don't know thay we've been trying and as we're in the middle of planning our kitchen renovation & we always say "all in good time" whenever anyone brings up babies, they don't think we're planning on babies at all atm, or at least until after the renovation is done. So this is going to be such a suprise for them. Anyone else feel this way? Wierdly I'm not nervous to tell my OHs parents... Xx

Ltay2 · 14/08/2020 09:30

@SmileyT That's true! I feel a lot less anxious today. Since joining the fb groups and seeing a few ladies going through the horrendous experience of scans going badly whilst it's totally not about me and can't even imagine what they are going through it always sets me off in a panic. Also list wise my dates are EDD 11th April, booking appointment 9th September ☺️

@Noble89 @zippityzip Omg I miss steak so much that is the only thing I am absolutely gutted about not being able to have! We have a booking for a steak place for late August which we planned before knowing I was pregnant but I can't face having a well done steak so will be probably the only person there having a chicken dish!

I am feeling weirdly ok today, I haven't felt as tired the last 2 days as I did earlier in the week and my boobs aren't as tender as they were, I've also not had any cramps yesterday or today like I have in previous days. Other than slight tiredness and slight bloatedness I actually feel fairly normal. Naturally this makes me worry that something is wrong rather than just appreciating the respite 🙄 hoping to get 3+ on CB tomorrow (will be 5+6) to reassure me.

mrsmummy1111 · 14/08/2020 09:36

Morning ladies!
Sorry for radio silence - have been feeling absolutely rotten the last few days to the point where I don't even have the energy to lay around on my phone! My mum had the toddler for a few days, then he was at nursery yesterday to give me a chance to rest which I'd love to say has helped but I still feel completely wiped out. Anyone else? I don't remember feeling so completely shattered with my son 🤷🏻‍♀️

@2020mission I am so so sorry for what you're going through. Life can be cruel, and the TTC journey often long and very very tough - but have faith in the journey and know that your time will come. Sending lots of hugs and hope you're doing ok (feel free to pop in anytime and say hey, you're always welcome here!)

@SmileyT YAY! Another healthy bean!! What a lovely scan, i think it looks very much more baby like than blob like already. Our 12w scan is 21st September which sounds so far away but I know it'll come round quickly as everything always does.

I'm not sure which hosp you're at @zippityzip - probably a different one to me (I had my son at Kings but am debating the PRUH now) but either way my scan will be at Denmark hill which is currently no partners. Which is a bummer but it also means DH won't complain when I book a load of totally unnecessary private scans 🤣

Just out of interest (apols it's tricky to keep up) but who's midwife appt is f2f and who's is on the phone? Mines definitely on the phone so I've no idea when I'll get any bloods taken? For those who have it on the phone - have you also been invited in for bloods separately? It's not been mentioned to me so may just not be until I have the 12w scan.

Congrats @blodyn91 - it's such a relief to see those lovely words.

@Noble89 - UTIs are the absolute pits. I got tonsillitis the same weekend we found out we were pg (which I now think was maybe related - low immune system?) but they said antibiotics were completely safe which my mums midwife friend confirmed. So if you're desperate at least that's an option. Hope you feel better soon xx

LittleRa · 14/08/2020 10:07

Hello ladies, hope you’re all well. It’s my birthday today! 🥳 And mixed in with my birthday cards in the post I’ve had an appointment through for seeing the consultant, Sept 8th. OMG my Head Teacher is going to love all the cover I’m going to need back at school 🙈

Cocoblue22 · 14/08/2020 10:08

@2020mission look after yourself I hope you're okay, big hugs x

mrsmummy1111 · 14/08/2020 10:12

Happy birthday @LittleRa !! Wonderful timing 🎈🎈🎈

Cocoblue22 · 14/08/2020 10:12

@LittleRa that's exciting! Mines on 2nd :) don't worry it won't be bad news but even if it was your head definitely wouldn't expect you back at school probably for even longer than the rest of the week so don't worry. My DH still can't come to 12 week scan 😩 x

@Sausage1990 yay to 2-3 weeks CB 🎉 x

LittleRa · 14/08/2020 10:14

Thank you ☺️

So @SmileyT for dates list I’ve got 1st Sept- 12 week scan and 8th Sept- consultant appt. I’ll confirm EDD after scan as there’s a mismatch between what I think and what midwife thinks!! (Either 13th or 19th March).

Mococo1 · 14/08/2020 10:14

@Noble89 feel for you on the UTI front! ☹️ rest up hopefully it goes away soon! My neighbour has them and it seems absolutely horrible

@blodyn91 yay congratulations on the 5+ !! 😬love hearing progression success stories let's your breathe a sigh of relief!

@SmileyT scan pic is so cute! Considering going for another next week 🤦🏾‍♀️ anxiety is horrible after a MC I wish I had my own machine! I'm Defo buying a foetal Doppler when I have the chance lol 😂

@mrsmummy1111 sorry you're feeling so sickly! Hopefully it eases soon but get as much rest as you can for now 😬

@Ltay2 oh hun don't worry too much which is easier said than done! Hoping you get that CB reassurance though XX

@LittleRa Happy birthday! Hope you have an amazing dayy woooo xxx
