Okay I'm still super nervous but time to take the plunge and started a Grad bus for the recent BFPs from the main thread. According to NHS calculator I'm due 18th March and it's #1 for me 😬

Morning all. Exciting about the scans! I’m not looking at an early one, however if I find that partners are not allowed at the 12 week NHS scan due to COVID, I might consider booking a private one so that my partner can come too- it’s his first DC and I’d hate him to miss out!

My info from the doctor’s surgery arrived and it had a number for the midwives to call and arrange booking in appointment. I called this morning and gave my details to the receptionist and someone’s going to call me back to book the appointment.

I’ve just booked a camping trip for the end of July for me, DP and DD (6yo) am I mad ha ha!

Cocoblue22 · 16/07/2020 10:25

@Noble89 don't get me wrong I will have the internal scan if they say that's what it has to be but I'd rather not if they can do a tummy one!
That's exciting about getting your midwife appointment sorted too :) I have my booking appointment booked in 6th August x

Cocoblue22 · 16/07/2020 10:28

@Dipsy77 I had one years ago for a suspected CP to check all was okay but it was at a hospital I think I'm just more nervous because it's at a private clinic but I'm sure they must have to follow the same procedure as the hospital? X

Dipsy77 · 16/07/2020 10:51

@Cocoblue22 mine have all been at hospital but yes I'm sure they will do maybe if your worried ring and speak to them xx

Cocoblue22 · 16/07/2020 11:25

I've just watched their video of what to expect online and feel a bit better about it now! Plus DH will be there too I'm not embarrassed or anything I've had that many procedures for various things I just feel nervous which is really silly x

SmileyT · 16/07/2020 11:31

@Cocoblue22 I'd say private is always a higher standard than NHS in my experience, much nicer and cleaner, way to think of it is that people have to go to hospitals in certain situations if a private scan place gets a bad review they don't survive. Read loads of good reviews about window to the womb ☺️ I had an internal scan at 6weeks and it was fine, not anymore uncomfortable than a smear test x

@Noble89 yay to calling the Dr, so are you 4weeks today or was your cycle longer? X

@LittleRa I don't think I've been camping since primary school but I bet it'll be fun and hopefully weather is nice. When will you tell DD? I find it hilarious that you call the Dr, they send out a pack with the phone number of the midwife, surely they could've just given that over the phone 🤣

I tried soya milk again today, normally drink it all the time... but think the little bean doesn't like it because I threw up straight after 🤢 it's funny because OH is really allergic so definitely part of him inside me 🤣

@SmileyT I’m not sure whether I’ll tell DD after 12 week scan or maybe a bit after that. I don’t want her to have to wait too long if you see what I mean, like kids that know they’re going to Disneyland but it isn’t for 2 years ha ha. I have started dropping into conversation about “if we had a baby...” blah blah blah to help her understand because I discovered during a conversation last year that she believed that if I had a baby then it’s dad would be her Dad, despite us having been split up over 3 years and both living with new partners. She was a bit confused about it all. When I tried to explain she then thought it would mean her dad wouldn’t be her dad anymore and my DP would be her dad 🤦🏼‍♀️ I was drawing out family trees and all sorts.

Cocoblue22 · 16/07/2020 12:15

@SmileyT thanks I feel better about it now. And I'm sure you're right when they are charging people £80 a go it's prob a lot better. I don't know why I'm nervous about it 🤷🏼‍♀️ x

@LittleRa camping sounds fun but it's far too cold for that I'm freezing all the time atm! Aww it must be quite confusing for kids to get their head around family dynamics and where babies come from sounds like you explained it all really well to her though. I'm thankful ds is 2 so won't really ask questions! X

@SmileyT I think you need to swerve the soya milk for a while clearly baby doesn't like it haha! X

SmileyT · 16/07/2020 21:11

@LittleRa ahh you did such a great job explaining and she'll love her little brother/ sister, how exciting when you get a bump and can explain to her ❤️

@Cocoblue22 I think the unknown is always a little scary but will be fantastic when you see your little bean and that heartbeat. And yeah I should just stay away from the soya 🙈 my friend became allergic to nuts while she was pregnant and is severely allergic now, hope this doesn't happen to me 😂 x

@SmileyT I believe it's quite common to not tolerate certain things when pregnant hopefully it's only short term for you though and you can go back to drinking it after you give birth. Tbf with DS gravy made me sick and normally I love gravy I couldn't stand it just the thought of it made me want to vom! I like it again now though.....for now x

LittleRa · 17/07/2020 16:11

Ladies, I’ve just seen this shared on my local hospital’s Facebook!! 😍

SmileyT · 17/07/2020 17:18

@LittleRa great news 🥳 now your DP can go to your scan,?2£/4 a special time ... I'm pretty sure guests are allowed with my trust. I think they moved most of maternity services to the spurs ground but now its died down its back in the hospital with one guest, but I'll ask when I have my booking appointment ☺️

@LittleRa awww yay that's great! Hopefully it will be the same here too by then x

Dipsy77 · 18/07/2020 05:29

Morning ladies
I've got my 3+ this morning so that's it for me and pregnancy tests now (hopefully).
I was so nervous waiting for the result felt like an age. I've woken up this morning feeling sick which I'm a weird way I'm pleased about but I'm sure that will soon change xx

SmileyT · 18/07/2020 06:09

@Dipsy77 yay - definitely no more tests to do now just relax!! How many days over 5weeks are you? I'm thinking about trying mine tomorrow morning 😬 x

OP posts:
Dipsy77 · 18/07/2020 07:14

@SmileyT I'm 5+4, I left it a couple of extra days just to make sure it was really nerve racking.
Just got to get to 12 week scan now. I did feel sick when I woke up but that's gone now so only real symptom is tiredness. I'm now stressing about which hospital to use, I don't fancy going back to my local hospital after MMC plus the care I got with dd wasn't great, I was consultant led and saw 6 different consultants never the same one it was so inconsistent. Then when I was due to be induced they were too busy and closed so I had to go to a hospital an hour away, they were fab but too far to travel. My local hospital is 15 mins away but I can go to either Leeds hospital which are about 30/40 mins away from me. My only concern is where I am now we have moved to a pregnancy app for notes so no physical notes and I'm not sure what the Leeds hospitals do, I don't want to mess up my notes but then I do want the best care and I think a Leeds hospital would be much better. I have while the 28th to decide that's my first catch up app with midwife where I have to let them know my choice then I'll get my 10 week booking app and scan from hospital I choose, why can't it be easy ?xx

Cocoblue22 · 18/07/2020 07:47

@Dipsy77 yay that's fantastic news to wake up to 🎉 how far along are you today? I think I'll do mine next week as its the only one I've got left and if I do it too early and get 2-3 I'll end up buying another box 🙈 just read youre 5+4 that's what I am today too! I do think they've tried to change things In some trusts now so that it's more consistent but the problem is that drs come and go so much at hospitals it's often not the same one! You could talk your concerns through with your midwife before you decide? X

Hope everyone is good? I've been falling asleep before 8.30 every night! And I feel a bit sickly but it comes and goes and I have sore boobs too but they always seem more sore in the afternoon/evening x

Noble89 · 18/07/2020 09:52

@Dipsy77 Ahh fab news to wake up to! I hit my next little milestone too and got my 2-3 weeks at 16DPO.

I've got one more to do which I'll do in a weeks time then I'll stop testing too.

What's everyone's symptoms like? I feel like I'm really going to struggle with nausea this pregnancy. It literally started the morning of 8DPO and I got my BFP that day. I've not been sick yet but I feel nauseous literally 24/7. Ironically the only time I don't feel sick is when I'm eating 😂.

I was having cramping (mild but noticeable) from 8-10 DPO but that seems to have stopped now. My major symptom last time was just absolute exhaustion and I'm definitely getting more and more tired. I had a cheeky afternoon nap to get me through the day yesterday 😂

Cocoblue22 · 18/07/2020 10:27

@Noble89 I feel nauseas too but it's not constant it comes and goes. Have noticed that metallic taste now and again too! I feel mostly tired and my lower tummy often feels achey and heavy in the afternoon. I've also had mild headaches which I'm guessing is just adjusting to the hormones. Is this your second DC? Morning sickness is supposed to not be as bad the second time for most ladies! Also expecting to get bigger faster it seems everyone's belly pops out faster the second time and lets face it by 7weeks last time I already had a bump! I think I already look preg but some of that is probably the Oreo chocolate 🤣 x

Noble89 · 18/07/2020 10:36

@Cocoblue22 2nd pregnancy but my first was a molar so hopefully this will be my first baby.

I can now update from just feeling nauseous to having actually thrown up this morning 😷. I knew it was coming because the nausea had been getting worse by the day. I hope it doesn't keep getting worse as I'm only 4 weeks now!

Cocoblue22 · 18/07/2020 13:20

@Noble89 yep I remember now sorry! I'm really rubbish at remember who on here has DC already! I suspect the nausea and sickness will get worse before it gets better! X

My lady bits/that general pubic region feels really achey....anyone else having similar feeling? X

Cocoblue22 · 18/07/2020 14:56

I feel a bit sick this afternoon again, basically I eat and I'm good for about an hour or two and then it starts I'm not hungry it's almost a bit like what I imagine sea sickness feels like.....🤢 mint oreo choc helps 🤣 not actually been sick tho it's just there in the background x

SmileyT · 18/07/2020 18:09

@Dipsy77 I'm going to be 5w3 tomorrow so I'll go for the CB weeks digi 🤪 yeah my only real symptom is tiredness I woke up at 5.30 but fell asleep again at 9am for a couple hours and then at 2pm for a couple hours 🙈 I was stressing aswell about what hospital to use, I just went with my local one that is about a 20min walk even though I didn't love the service when I told them about my MMC (I knew something was wrong but they wouldn't scan me so I had to go to book a private scan which was a 2hr round trip just to end up in the same EPU 3hrs later having it confirmed 🙄). Probably a stupid question but how do you have a midwife before a hospital? I'm not even registered with my local GP since moving in November 😩 x

@Cocoblue22 @Noble89 sorry you're both feeling sickly, I'm still rocking on with no symptoms apart from feeling heavy down there and a few twinges but hoping it's not a bad sign. Although DP did point out I've been sick 3 times in the last 2 weeks which isn't normal and having 2 naps today 😂 I've actually never been ill in my life apart from tonsillitis, so the only times I've been sick before now are when I'm hungover 🙈 My friend had really bad sickness and her GP prescribed her anti-nausea stuff so if it gets worse maybe you can talk to your Drs x

@SmileyT our surgery has 3 midwifes so I get to see anyone of them for my appointments they are all really nice. We have a 7/8 week app where they get the ball rolling and find out which hospital you want and give you basic info. Then you have your booking in app about 10 weeks which is an hour long and they take bloods and book your scan and will refer me to a consultant (because I'm classed as a geriatric mum )at hospital of choice how do you do it where you are ?xx

Dipsy77 · 18/07/2020 19:14

@Noble89 yay for the 2-3 weeks xx
