Okay I'm still super nervous but time to take the plunge and started a Grad bus for the recent BFPs from the main thread. According to NHS calculator I'm due 18th March and it's #1 for me 😬

@Dipsy77 oh this makes sense my GP told me they doesn't have any maternity services (don't even do urine tests), the GP can just fill out the referral to hospital for me but last time it was 3 weeks for an appt, and this was pre-COVID, just to speak to somebody to refer so I just did self-referral this time. I'm going to have a look at local GPs to my new house and see if I can get registered as probably makes sense to have a GP near home anyway x

Okay testing officially done now I've got 3+ on my digital (still got loads a few tests but they've all hit max progression 😂), time to enjoy this pregnancy until somebody tells me otherwise ❤️

Hope the sickness isn't too bad for any of you today, rainy and grey where I am so hope there is some sunshine for some of you x

@SmileyT yay on the 3+ that's a lot of tests 😄

SmileyT · 19/07/2020 07:17

@Dipsy77 haha I thought 3 FRERs and 2 digis wasn't too bad 🙈 but because I dipped cheapies alongside them definitely looks worse 😂 I blame MN last time I did a boots £1.50 test at 6weeks and that was it x

I hope it's okay that I join?

I'm 15dpo today got my BFP at 11dpo, but it was faint of course so I have been obsessively POAS since then to be sure the line I getting stronger and it is. Thankfully!

It works out that my due date would be 27 March according to NHS calculator. This is my first and I came off the pill in November last year so it's taken what felt like forever but 8 months to get here!

I called my GP on Friday after telling OH and they just said okay you need to ring the midwives gave me the number and that was it. Unfortunately their hours were 9-12 so I missed it so gotta wait until tomorrow to ring MW.

Is anybody else a bit worried about having to go to any appointments and scans alone without their partner? With this being my first ( though it is his second) I really wanna share everything with him. Will probably book a private scan before the 12 week scan if he still isn't able to come to that!

I have zero clue what to expect at all haha it's so overwhelming!

These are my 13dpo and 15dpo frers and my CBD 🥰🥰🥰

Congratulations everyone btw 🥳🥳🥳🥳

@SmileyT yes I was the same I used an Asda £1 test and that was it oh to be like that again !xx

@Bl0ndi3 congratulations and welcome, yes it's a shame about scans and appointments and not allowing partners although I would have struggled anyway as we have a 10 month old. It's is a shame that DP can't be at scans it's nice to have them there for support and reassurance plus it's nice they get to see the same as you, maybe things will change, I know in some areas rules are relaxing so fingers crossed xx

Bl0ndi3 · 19/07/2020 09:02

@Dipsy77 thank you so much it doesn't feel real and I keep coming sitting on my bed staring at the positive tests which currently just live on our drawers in our bedroom 😂 dry with caps on so not totally gross.

Where I live I think OH can now be there for the 20week scan that's been since 13/7 so I am hoping by the time my dating scan which would be early/mid September maybe that he could come to that to.

I don't like the thought of not sharing this whole process with him!

Cocoblue22 · 19/07/2020 10:31

@SmileyT congrats on 3+ 🎉 that's great and glad you can now relax and enjoy being pregnant! X

@Bl0ndi3 congratulations on BFP 🎉! And welcome! X

So I jumped on the CB digital testing too much to my disappointment it still says 2-3 weeks for me ☹️ wishing I'd waited a few more days. It was my last one so now I'm thinking do I buy two more?

I am supposed to be 5+5 today or 23dpo 🤷🏼‍♀️ x

Cocoblue22 · 19/07/2020 10:43

@Bl0ndi3 if he can't go to dating scan lots of private ones are allowing one parter in so you could book one for a few weeks before or after dating scan? X

Bl0ndi3 · 19/07/2020 12:37

@Cocoblue22 yeah that's a really good idea I was looking into private scans last night so I think that's what we will do if needs be xx thank you 😘

SmileyT · 19/07/2020 12:54

Hi @Bl0ndi3 👋 I think in my trust you can now take partners to all the scans still a couple months before you have your scan so hopefully things will have changed again. I have a private scan booked for 8weeks to check everything is progressing and then should have 10 week appt with midwife and then 12 week dating scan ☺️ I think after we get our BFPs it's just waiting around so I've definitely had to work on patience x

@Cocoblue22 I'd say if you're not stressed about the 2-3weeks test just wait it out until your private scan, as that's not far off rather than wasting money on more tests. Sometimes hcg just rises a bit slower, I worked out it could take about 15 days from first positive to get the 3+ if it starts at 20 and doubles every 2 days (I was googling before I took it so I didn't stress out). How are you feeling? xx

OP posts:
Bl0ndi3 · 19/07/2020 16:28

@SmileyT oh that's so amazing I hope we get that in my trust soon too! Thank you that's really reassuring and worst case he Can't come to dating scan and I will just book a private one maybe 2-3 weeks before. I don't want a super early scan but a private at 9/10/11 weeks if my dating scan is 12-14 would be good so there's a change when I go to the dating scan 🥰

I am so EXCITED.

I am also super impatient haha so it's gonna kill me to wait at least 5 weeks for a scan!

I have not stopped downloading pregnancy apps, researching pregnancy workouts, window shopping maternity clothes and googling what gorgeous pregnant ladies who were a size 14 pre pregnancy like me looked like with a bump. I am a bullet journal Lover so I plan on starting a pregnancy journal for myself which will hopefully keep me occupied!

LittleRa · 19/07/2020 17:21

Hi all, hope you’ve all been having a lovely weekend. I am literally sooooo tired! Apart from that fine, no sickness. I’m a teacher so have finished school for the summer holidays now, though I’ll still have bits and bobs to do the children are finished. I haven’t told work yet about being pregnant since anything could happen yet, all being well I should be around 10-11 weeks when we go back in Sept but with all this COVID I’m thinking pregnant members of staff will need a risk assessment etc.
I’ve bought a clear blue digital weeks one so will do that at some point this week to see what I get. I haven’t heard back from the midwives yet after I rang last week and they said they’d be back in touch to make a booking in appointment.

SmileyT · 19/07/2020 18:27

@Bl0ndi3 I'm going to go for results with bump and try and get my bum moving, lockdown hasn't done my body any good at all 🙈 what is a bullet journal? I've just switched my ttc apps to pregnancy ones, actually managed to delete a couple, I was running at 9 ttc so now I'm down to 6 pregnancy ones 😂😂 Annoyingly I have an amazon list I've already shared with my DP with all my newborn stuff kinda wish I'd held off doing that so I had stuff to entertain me x

@LittleRa I fell asleep at 1pm today on the sofa and woke up at 4 🙈 no idea how I'm going to get through a mental day at work next week. Maybe speak to your midwife about the work situation and what they recommend, in my trust they book the booking appts for around 10weeks, I contacted them a week ago so I reckon I'll contact them again if I don't hear anything before the end of July x

Bl0ndi3 · 19/07/2020 18:36

@SmileyT I have been following slimming world in lockdown so (and don't hate me) I've actually lost around 22lbs but pregnancy is gonna ruin that haha well I'm continuing slimming world under the pregnancy plan as it's approved by midwives to try and maintain my weight, healthily, best I can. I am scared of 1. Not looking pregnant and just whale like and 2. Having so much weight to lose after pregnancy and be back at square 1

A bullet journal is basically a blank notebook and you create the pages that you want so I'll be able to completely tailor it to my pregnancy and do pages for anything I want to log or track I've had a plan for it on my phone for about 7 months of all the pages I want in it haha xxxx

Omg 9 TTC?! I thought I was bad at 4 Hahahaha I've got 6 pregnancy ones atm too! Until I filter them out to the ones I like best
My favourite atm is the pregnancy+ one but I also love the himommy one too which have you got? X

SmileyT · 19/07/2020 18:47

@Bl0ndi3 ahh that's amazing, I used to be a proper gym bunny pre-lockdown and would go 6 times a week and then play netball twice a week it's been so hard because I'm not eating much more but obviously moving less 🙄 I really want to try and lose like 10lbs before my first midwife weigh in but all the sleeping isn't helping with moving more 😂😂😂 attached a pic of my pregnancy apps but I think they are probably better ttc ones (attached a pic) and need new pregnancy ones as don't love any of them. Also you sound so creative, that's amazing, I'm a maths degree kinda gal so I'm really lame and I'm obsessed with numbers and facts and figures 🙈 how old is OHs DC? x

OP posts:
Bl0ndi3 · 19/07/2020 19:06

@SmileyT I don't think you attached a pic haha and OHs son is 7 and he has a baby brother at his Mums house who is around 7/8 months old now and he said he really wants s baby brother or sister at daddy's house too so he will be thrilled when we tell him 🥰🥰 I'm
Hoping it's a baby sister but brother is perfect too 😂

I'm fairly lazy so I didn't exercise much ore lockdown I'd have phases where I would swim and run (/walk) and I have ring fit adventure for the switch too but I think I need to get my pregnant bum into gear and at least try and do some yoga and swim when we're finally allowed to regularly!

SmileyT · 19/07/2020 19:16

@Bl0ndi3 sorry I'm very tired 🙈 I've actually just downloaded himommy and pregnancy+ and definitely going to delete some of mine as those are much better. Ahh that's so nice that he's looking forward to a new baby, I'm really hoping for a little boy but obviously would be happy with any healthy baby. I definitely think I'll get a test at 16weeks, not sure I'll be able to wait much longer x

@SmileyT haha that's okay. These are mine and yeah those two are my favourites so far but I also like the BabyCentre one but won't be keeping multiple as I just want to update one and then use my journal when I finally get it and start doing it xx

Yeah Ralph (DS) will be so happy but won't be telling him til 12 weeks I don't think x

Cocoblue22 · 20/07/2020 09:14

@Bl0ndi3 I've got a private scan books so DH can come just in case he can't come to 12 week one partners still aren't allowed in here im hoping he would at least get to come to the 20 week one. I have 4 apps emmas diary, baby Center, what to expect and bounty x

@SmileyT as soon as I'd finished writing that I was straight on amazon and bought two more CBs 🙄 they should arrive by Thursday and that's 17 days after my BFP so hopefully I'll get the 3+ then I should of waited until weds like I'd planned doh! X

@LittleRa your midwife will be able to advise you about work at your booking appointment x

Feeling really emotional I've cried a few times this week and got really sore nipples and feel like my tummy is bloated and heavy. Tried to start bumpie diary yesterday and every photo DH took I hated as I feel quite fat atm after lock down hopefully when my bump pops out I'll feel better it's great at spreading the belly podge out! 🤣 x

How are you all feeling? X

Bl0ndi3 · 20/07/2020 09:31

My booking in appointment is 18th August (9 weeks by that point) and they said the midwife will book the scan at that appointment so I won't know when the scan is until then which is a bit rubbish. I've found the whole process so far a bit lack lustre not one person I've spoken to has said congrats or anything at all.

Bl0ndi3 · 20/07/2020 11:36

@Cocoblue22 I'm 30 on 6th september and I'll be 11 weeks by then I'm tempted to book a private scan for around the 10 weeks mark so I can see everything's ok and tell a few closest people before or on my birthday otherwise not sure how I'll get through my 30th without people figuring it out not drinking etc haha!

I don't want one too early on or close to the 12 week scan as I want there to have been barely any change between the two so 10 weeks probably be good.

Not sure whether to wait until my booking in appt on 18th August tho before booking a private scan urghhh I'm so indecisive haha!

SmileyT · 20/07/2020 11:39

@Cocoblue22 ahh there are a lot of hormones going around your body so definitely understand feeling emotional and yeah totally feeling you on the lockdown weight, I'm in serious diet more right now want to be as healthy as possible for little bean. Haha I definitely would've ordered more tests aswell 😂 I'm all good over here just so much waiting and not much going on and have a mental day at work (which I'm clearly not giving 💯 to as I'm on here 🙈)

@Bl0ndi3 yeah makes more sense just to have one main phone app and then use your journal. Ahh yeah I guess this is just day to day for midwives and they have to be careful because not everyone will be happy, I was going to say your service have been pretty efficient 😂, my GP doesn't have anything to do with referrals and I've been waiting over a week to hear back on a date for my booking appt and the scan. Just a lot of waiting for us impatient types, feel like there is nothing to do in the first 10 weeks 🙄

OP posts:
Bl0ndi3 · 20/07/2020 11:41

@SmileyT oh haha I should complain then I guess as yeah it was pretty straight forward I would've done it Friday but they're only open 9-12. Generally just said I'm pregnant they said okay give me your details, I picked a children's centre nearby and they said okay 18th August lol that was that I sort of expected more!

I HATE waiting haha! So this first trimester is gonna be tough!

Bl0ndi3 · 20/07/2020 12:10

Shouldn't ** complain! Haha sorry
