Hi guys! Just found out were expecting. Very early but have no one else I can compare symptoms or questions with. Also thought it would be nice to follow pregnancies together. Expected due date should be the middle of March!
@ALew15 we are due date buddies then due around 18th March... 15dpo now so 4w1, I haven't done another FRER yet 😬

@Sussexbysea yeah that's definitely a good sign it's because you're so far along that it is pulling the dye, I think around 6weeks the early detection tests get a bit weird as they can't deal with the level of hcg 🙌🏾
Ah yay how cool. Is this your first? It is ours, but my DH has two boys (13&10) from previous.
I just phoned my GP and they said to ring back in 3 weeks when I will be 7 weeks and they will refer me to the midwife.

Welliesandwishes · 10/07/2020 10:22

@rainbow1808 I'm only 5+2 so still super early. I used the bands with my last daughter and they helped! Not much looking forward to the next few weeks but hoping sickness stays away! X

Rainbow1808 · 10/07/2020 10:28

@Welliesandwishes I’ll definitely have a look at them then! My nausea seems to come and go. This morning I woke up feeling sicker than I ever have. Then about an hour and half later it seemed to go. I’m not feeling too bad now although I know it will come back later! I can’t still stomach food, but my appetite isn’t as big and I don’t ever fancy anything I’ve got in! X

Rainbow1808 · 10/07/2020 10:29

I can still stomach food that was meant to say😁

Snazzles2020 · 10/07/2020 10:44

Can I join? Got my BFP on Tuesday 7th. Baby number 1. Very excited but also very nervous. Husband seems to have gone into protective overdrive and mega excitement. No symptoms as of yet, a bit of cramping, tender boobs. I have spoke to my GP and registered with the midwife team. Still waiting for a call back from them. No idea what I am doing??? Anyone else had to tell their employers yet? I've spoke to my manager as I work customer facing at a popular tourist attraction (likely to be very busy over the summer) and there are roles which will not be behind screens. I suppose the worry is people social distancing. The amount of people near us who are not social distancing since lockdown 'released' on the 4th is shocking, not to mention the pubs near us. Manager has been brilliant and mega supportive and reassuring that all measures will be taken to keep me safe, but feels a bit strange that they know and no-one else close to us does yet.

Welliesandwishes · 10/07/2020 10:52

@rainbow1808 haha I know what you mean about not fancying anything! So far I'm sticking up on biscuits and crackers! We are taking our girls camping at the end of the month 🙈🤣 Ms and camping would not be a great combo!
Is this your first? X

Rainbow1808 · 10/07/2020 11:09

@Welliesandwishes Oh no that wouldn’t be fun would it haha! No, I have a 3 year old son (he’ll be 4 next month) I had a chemical pregnancy in May so I’m very paranoid at the moment! X

SmileyT · 10/07/2020 11:50

@ALew15 yeah it's my first... my hospital you just self-refer so not going to bother telling the GP, mine are useless anyway, they literally just fill out the same form I can fill out online 🤔 think I'll refer to a midwife after I get an early scan... just need to get through the next 3 weeks 🤞

@Snazzles2020 ahh i got my BFP on Wednesday and it's my first... so we'll be due around the same time. I keep hearing mixed reviews about whether there is any difference now when pregnant or not and whether employers need to do anything. I work in a customer facing role and get the London Underground into work so I'm not sure if I should say anything 😬

Sussexbysea · 10/07/2020 11:55

@SmileyT @ALew15 CaN you refer yourself? You might be able to google it for your hospital trust

My hospital is a self referral too. I’ve had both my consultant and midwife on the phone to me this morning, it makes it feel so real.

I’m excited but still have a nervous belly, things can turn the other way so quickly.

JASPERVV · 10/07/2020 17:31

Hi everyone, just wanted to share my experience for anyone worried. I’m 6+5 and had a scan today. I was having really bad shooting pains and days when my symptoms were non existent. All really up and down. Scan showed a healthy heartbeat of 138bpm and nothing (currently) to worry about. So, if you’re having bad days and worried, know that no symptoms and pain don’t always mean bad things x

Nmvasey · 10/07/2020 18:02

@JASPERVV that's great news. I'm contemplating paying for a 6 weeks scan, can you see much? Guessing it's more reassurance that anything else at that point

JASPERVV · 10/07/2020 19:00

@nmvasey I saw a little blob and a pounding heartbeat. I could just about make out a shape of a bean with the start of limbs. Bizarre. Definitely worth it as I really needed the reassurance.

JASPERVV · 10/07/2020 19:34

I’d wait til 7 weeks as sometimes at 6 the heartbeat is hard to detect. By 7 it should be there.

Chickoletta · 10/07/2020 19:46

Hi! May I join please? I got my BFP today, due on 24th March. I’m 40 and have DCs aged 7 and nearly 10 and had a MMC with twins in April.

Feeling excited as this is a much wanted pregnancy but also very nervous.

We will have a private scan at 8 weeks and also do NIPT testing at 10 weeks because of my age.

Feeling fine so far, slightly nauseous maybe, but I generally tend to be quite lucky with MS.

Looking forward to sharing this journey with you all.

frommywindow · 10/07/2020 21:09

Hey, I'd also like to join please!
Currently 4+1, due ?18th March too. Found out yesterday. Also emetophobic, and took a long time to come around to the idea of TTC- although now I feel like some nausea would be nice as reassurance? Only some mind!!

Cmclaughlin94 · 11/07/2020 10:12

Hello everyone!
I am due on the 6th March, which makes me 6 weeks today I have a little girl who will be 8 in August and I really feel like I am doing it all for the first time. I had an mc back in Jan 2017 which has now made me very paranoid for every little pain and twinge.
My symptoms have been coming and going I was sick few days ago but have only felt sick on and off since then. I'm on and off tired too. Has anyone else has their symptoms come and go?

I'm booked for a scan on Thursday to hopefully settle my worrying, I'll be 6+5 weeks by then and I just wanted to ask if anyone else has had a scan at this time did they do it internally or just a standard ultrasound. I'm a bit nervous to have it internal but I cant find any information about it online. Thank you and congrats to everyone!

Sussexbysea · 11/07/2020 12:06

I’ve got some dull aches going on today, mainly my right side.

How’s everyone else feeling?

Headingtowardsforty · 11/07/2020 12:42

Today's a funny day as not really many symptoms. The past couple of days I have spent my afternoons feeling very sick. The one thing I do keep experiencing is dizziness almost every time I stand up quickly, which I had with my ds too. This pregnancy is so unexpected that I think I'm still getting my head around it as well.

Sakura54 · 11/07/2020 12:55

@Sussexbysea the nausea is slowly starting for me, that’s usually my worst symptom especially when I’m hungry. My bad cramps are dying down finally.

@Headingtowardsforty same! That was my 1st symptom this pregnancy. I can't stand up without getting dizzy.

@Cmclaughlin94 I've never had an early scan before so can't advise, but I recently had 2 internal scans unexpectedly with my last pregnancy. It's ok, it doesn't hurt. Much more pleasant than a smear test!

Headingtowardsforty · 11/07/2020 13:17

@Sakura54 I can sympathise about the cramps. Since finding out on Thursday I had that horrid, heavy crampy feeling. Today it has finally gone. I find the dizziness so frustrating as every time I go to do something I have to stop and wait for the world to stop spinning.

artyone · 11/07/2020 14:46

@purley I've had to tell my Mum as I am a rubbish lier. I am scared of telling the in laws though!

artyone · 11/07/2020 14:48

@Sussexbysea I've had crampy feelings too. I think it's perfectly normal though, this will be my third and I'm sure I had them with the other two as well.

I have had very few symptoms so far but am feeling a bit tired and nauseous today. Nothing compared to my first pregnancy though when I was completely wiped out and continually sick.

Sussexbysea · 11/07/2020 15:35

It comes and goes. I had terrible pains when I had my daughter they sent me to EPAC but all was fine.

Got my folic acid today which is good, taking them with pregnacare too. I feel so positive about this pregnancy.xx

artyone · 11/07/2020 16:07

@Sussexbysea oh no that must have been scary, glad it was all ok though. Thank you for the reminder about folic acid. I had completely forgotten about it!

Sussexbysea · 11/07/2020 16:21

@artyone also remember if you pay for your prescriptions to keep the receipt for it because when you get your maternity exemption card you can reclaim the cost back. I’ve got a couple I’ll be reclaiming
