Hi guys! Just found out were expecting. Very early but have no one else I can compare symptoms or questions with. Also thought it would be nice to follow pregnancies together. Expected due date should be the middle of March!

Hi all!!

Very excited to be here. This is my first baby due 10th March!

Apart from excited to meet my baby. I have honestly never felt so awful and I hope this subsides soon so I can enjoy growing my little one!

Sussexbysea · 22/07/2020 14:47

@Headingtowardsforty nothing. Although the whole experience has been very strange.

babytee21 · 22/07/2020 14:50

@Sussexbysea how are you feeling? any symptoms?!

Sussexbysea · 22/07/2020 15:39

@babytee21 I had a very mild cough for an hour or so and then a rash but that’s it. I only did the test out of curiosity, now I’m in lockdown.

Stupid me ordered something for click and collect too 👎🏻

Headingtowardsforty · 22/07/2020 15:45

@Sussexbysea can someone else collect it for you?

Sh4mmy · 22/07/2020 15:54

@Headingtowardsforty, ah it's definitely nice to have someone of a similar age to speak to! Whilst I know I'm classed as an 'older' mum I definitely don't feel it...still feel 20 😂 most of the time anyway!

I'm definitely still trying to get my head around it, I'm dreading telling my older kids and my mum too, but I feel like it's meant to be, so I just hope everything goes ok x

Headingtowardsforty · 22/07/2020 15:58

@Sh4mmy I've spent much of the past few weeks feeling like a naughty teenager who should better than to fall pregnant! We told our son last week, a bit early, but he has meant he is a bit more patient than normal. I can't wait to tell my mum, tho it will be a shock to her.

helia · 22/07/2020 16:06

I've told my family. We didn't tell them until after our 12 week scan with our first but when I saw them recently I just wanted to relax and not pretend. We're seeing DH's family this weekend and expect we'll do the same. It's easier than declining glasses of wine and cups of coffee, and them wondering what's up! If something goes wrong then telling them will neither cause or prevent that.

I haven't rung the midwife yet... I don't know why - perhaps part of me is feeling a little pessimistic or perhaps I'm still processing the news. This baby is so very wanted but we only agreed to start trying last month and everything has happened at breakneck speed (I'm not complaining, don't worry)! I'm going to ring the GPs' surgery tomorrow (at five weeks) to find out what I need to do to register for antenatal care.

babytee21 · 22/07/2020 16:07

@Sussexbysea thank god you did test though! At least you know now!

Ahh that's so annoying! Maybe explain your situation and they might be able to drop it to you!

ValidUser · 22/07/2020 16:30

I'm looking at all these beautiful maternity clothes, but it's too early to buy them!

Sussexbysea · 22/07/2020 16:41

@babytee21 I know right. They’ve been really good and arranged for it to be delivered.

AnaBananas · 22/07/2020 17:01

Hi all. Been a while since I posted, but wanted to compare symptoms. I’m 6 weeks and 2 days. My cramping has pretty much gone. Breasts are still tender. But my sense of smell has gone haywire! The smell of any oven food makes me want to heave, which is difficult living in a family who loves chicken nuggets, chips, fish fingers, etc. I can also smell this from across the house with the doors closed!

I’ve not had morning sickness yet and hoping that I don’t.

What are everyone else’s symptoms currently like?

I’m also worried that due to my food aversions (I can’t look at certain veggies like broccoli anymore), my diet is no longer balanced. I’ve started taking Pregnacare, as opposed to just Folic Acid and Vit D.

babytee21 · 22/07/2020 17:26

@AnaBananas omg yes.. totally get this.. my boyfriend got prawns out the freezer the other day and we had to throw them away as I couldn't stomach the smell once they had defrosted.. I have zero appetite.. I spoke to my midwife yesterday and she said as long as I'm taking vitamins baby is fine and getting everything they need! Smile

Phie04 · 22/07/2020 17:37

@AnaBananas My twinges have gone but randomly I get strong period like pains (like a dull ache) and it feels like im bleeding heavily but havent bled once. Im also just over 6 weeks and only have sickness on random days. Been sick twice but im unsure whether it was pregnancy or lack of sleep related as sometimes I can feel nauseous after waking up early. It also subsides when I eat toast and drink water but other than those symptoms and sore breasts I have nothing else!! Should be counting my lucky stars really but I worry I lack symptoms and thus think something is wrong!!

@babytee21its so crazy. My OH thinks I’m making it up! That’s good about the vitamins. I’ve just started taking pregnacare, so hopefully the week of my crappy diet doesn’t have too much of an effect.

AnaBananas · 22/07/2020 18:43

@Phie04 that sounds like morning sickness. Especially the part about finding some relief from dry toast... I’ve heard crackers also help. I don’t think a lack of symptoms is something to worry about. My mother would tell me how she hasn’t realised she was pregnant with my brother until past 12 weeks, and only because she realised she was late!

helia · 22/07/2020 19:09

No morning sickness here but I don't remember having it with DS. I remember feeling a bit off and a bit queasy but I was never sick or really felt like I was going to be sick.

Phie04 · 22/07/2020 19:17

@AnaBananas oh thats a relief!! I would love to find out at 12 weeks if I was actively trying. This waiting game is very hard! Although throughout the day I find myself forgetting im pregnant and seeing some one else bum and being like.. oh yeah me too! 😂

Headingtowardsforty · 22/07/2020 19:27

@Phie04 my nausea has kinda gone today. But I am learning what triggers it and avoiding those things (mint toothpaste, coffee). That said my breasts are still so painful and I'm exhausted, so I'm trying not to worry about not feeling sick anymore.

It would be amazing to get through the 12 weeks without all the worry, wouldn't it? We'll get there, 5 weeks and counting today til my scan.

ElsiesJourney · 22/07/2020 20:24

Any body else struggling to sleep at night but genuinely can't keep their eyes open during the day!?!? It's so hard.
Also I always sleep on my front and it's already feeling uncomfortable.... how are you all doing with sleep???

ValidUser · 22/07/2020 20:43

@ElsiesJourney I'm the same. Restless legs, which I'm prone to anyway, are worse.

Magnesium before bed is helping a little. (I always took it, just adjusted the time.)

c24680 · 22/07/2020 20:51

Hi everyone!

I'm 6w+3 with 2nd baby, I have a 2 year old daughter already. We're all very excited, really want to get over the 12w mark so I can relax a little bit!

Phoned the midwife today to get that started, with coronavirus they're not seeing patients face to face until 10 weeks so just got the booklet to fill in and hand back.

MrsWHall · 22/07/2020 21:52

Hi everyone! I found out last week that I’m pg. FTM and first pregnancy. I’m 5+6 and Worked out DD is 18th March. We’ve been trying for two years and so now I’m so so so overjoyed but so so nervous. I started spotting today with what seems like old blood. I’ve had some cramping and did have mega fatigue last week which seems to be slightly less now. I’m hotter than the firey depths at the moment though!! Only a little nausea in waves at the moment too.
I called my local EPU today to report the spotting and they’ve asked me to come in tomorrow or Friday for an early scan. Have any of you had this? I’m so nervous! Xxx

ValidUser · 22/07/2020 22:22

Anyone else's cat seem to know they're pregnant? Mine normally keep off me in hot weather, but two of them are all over me!

RaaRaaaa · 22/07/2020 22:57

Hi all! Smile

Just found out I’m pregnant. Due about 19th March according to nhs calculator but I have a slightly longer cycle so I don’t think that’s too accurate. Hubs and I are a little shocked to be honest !

Not many symptoms. Feeling a little off with a niggly headache but that is all so far xxxx
