Hi guys! Just found out were expecting. Very early but have no one else I can compare symptoms or questions with. Also thought it would be nice to follow pregnancies together. Expected due date should be the middle of March!

Thanks so much everyone xx

Sh4mmy · 21/07/2020 20:13

@Headingtowardsforty ah pleased to hear there is someone else who's a similar age! I'm 41 now, will be 42 when the baby is born and my kids are currently 16,15 and 7! This is a huge shock as I've only been with my OH for 4 months, my heads all over the place and my other kids are going to be distraught! But I feel like this is meant to be after I had a MC 2 years ago!

Sh4mmy · 21/07/2020 20:16

@Sussexbysea honestly my boobs are so painful in the morning but thankfully ease by the end of the day!!

I'm hoping I'll be referred for an early scan after I speak to the dr on Thursday!

Hi All, long time lurker, first time poster!

My backstory, 28, technically 2nd pregnancy, first one ended as a chemical in May- thought we’d smashed it as it was our first month of “trying”, didn’t realise quite how upsetting it was when so early on (think I was around 5+3), hadn’t tested anymore since the weekend prior when we first found out so was pretty crushing when I went to a&e to be told the wee test was negative and they’d be checking bloods to see the levels.
We told our parents when we found out (both last time and this) incase anything happened (MiL had a MMC with her first so was super understanding) and we were really glad we did as it was a little support network but without too many people being in the know.

Anyway fast forward 4 weeks after the bleeding started with that and I started testing positive on OPKs, didn’t see a ‘peak’ like I had in the past when tracking so presumed I hadn’t released an egg, how wrong I was! Haha! So here I am at 7 weeks (by my calc 11/03/21), NHS say otherwise due to the last bleed (8+ whatever- saying 25/02/21 for EDD atm).

I seem to be pretty fortunate in that my Drs were quick to book me in with the community midwife- I had my call with her on the 9th July, and she referred me for my booking appointment which I had yesterday! (For those asking about OHs going, I wouldn’t bother they give you all the details in a folder and everything you’ve gone through, plus they ask personal questions such as abuse etc which I presume they don’t want partners etc in for so I’d imagine they’d ask them to leave the room at that time). I had to get my bloods taken at a hospital following the appointment. While I was there the midwife called our scan clinic and they’ve booked me in for the 20th August.

Symptoms- basically everything you’ve all said, really bad nausea at all sorts of stupid times of the day, love eating crisps/crisp sandwiches and don’t fancy much else but trying to get as much fruit and veg in as I can, super sore boobs but not as much today oddly! Had one day of spotting last week that was incredibly light pink and one spout of brown. Odd cramps but nothing major and allllllll the pulling and tugging. Peeing like a racehorse, major baby brain and bouts of dizziness!

Oh and I’m also taking the seven seas multivitamin with folic acid and they are horrendous to take especially when nauseous, they don’t need to be that big!!!

Apologies for war & peace, but congratulations to you all :)

Sh4mmy · 21/07/2020 20:16

@Rainbow1808 that's lovely news and lovely to see too xx

Headingtowardsforty · 21/07/2020 20:39

@Rainbow1808 lovely to see your scan pictures.

@Sh4mmy yeah, it's lovely to have someone a similar age. We already have a son, aged 10 and this one is a complete surprise. Feel like I'm starting all over again. But I agree with the meant to be, I came off contraception 6 years ago and when nothing happened I thought it was never going to, so still getting my head round it to an extent.

hypernova · 22/07/2020 00:30

Hey everyone. Can I join? This thread is a lot busier than the other one.

I'm 5+4. Due 20th March. I have two DC already which were both eventful and stressful pregnancies to say the least and I had a MC at 10 weeks back in January so I'm quite anxious. I have a scan booked for next Monday to hopefully alleviate my worries. No nausea yet but my boobs feel so painful sometimes! I'm also seriously tired by the afternoon. Went for a short walk at lunchtime and I was ready for my bed by the time we got back. Just seem to have no energy at the moment.

Sussexbysea · 22/07/2020 06:39

Morning all. I got my COVID test results last night.... POSITIVE. Shit! It’s literally going to turn everything upside down for a few weeks.

Positive and pregnant. Think I’ll give my midwife a call this morning

SmileyT · 22/07/2020 07:13

@Sussexbysea was it the antibody test or the one to check if you have it now? How are you feeling? x

Headingtowardsforty · 22/07/2020 07:45

@Sussexbysea oh my, I take it you've been feeling okay? Let us know what the midwife says.

Hope everyone's feeling okay this morning. So far, so good, but I'm going to have to get up soon!

Clara9 · 22/07/2020 07:46

@Sussexbysea oh no, hope you are able to rest and take care of yourself. Calling the midwife sounds like a good idea. Hope you’re ok x

Sussexbysea · 22/07/2020 08:00

@SmileyT @Headingtowardsforty @Clara9

I feel absolutely fine. It was a home test and only really did it out of curiosity as I had a cough that hurt my chest for a few hours last week. But that’s my only symptom

Headingtowardsforty · 22/07/2020 08:06

@Sussexbysea glad you're feeling okay. Does make you wonder how many people have had it with virtually no symptoms.

BabySweet85 · 22/07/2020 08:28

@Sussexbysea hope you are okay! Is that self isolation now? Have you been out and about (do you think you know where you could have picked it up?). Let us know what the mid wife says.

Oldermum80 · 22/07/2020 09:21

@Sussexbysea I hope you feel better soon and the midwife can offer reassurance.

Can I ask does anyone have really lumpy boobs? Mine are achy but full of solid lumps although I’m not really blessed in that department so maybe they are just more obvious.

Headingtowardsforty · 22/07/2020 09:36

@Oldermum80 mine aren't lumpy as such. But the veins on them are sticking out massively and painful. I am rather large already and they have definitely filled out more. No bra means agony now.

Oldermum80 · 22/07/2020 09:47

@Headingtowardsforty thank you. I’m constantly obsessing and analysing them for growth lol. Can’t seem to stop being anxious after two miscarriages. Need to calm myself but know this is my last chance given my age.

Bl0ndi3 · 22/07/2020 09:48

@Headingtowardsforty I've been wearing sports bras exclusively since finding out haha ones that aren't bra sized but dress sized so they're not as restrictive with the cups and I do keep popping out haha but it's way comfier than a bra or no bra x

Headingtowardsforty · 22/07/2020 10:02

@Oldermum80 I can understand your anxiety. My pregnancy was a complete shock, so I keep wondering if I'm imagining it.

@Bl0ndi3 I think I'm going to have to invest in some crop top style ones to sleep in. My current ones still fit, but only just and they're not comfy for sleeping in.

Bl0ndi3 · 22/07/2020 10:08

@Headingtowardsforty I don't normally sleep in any bra but when my boobs are sore I wear soft sports bra for a bit of support and comfort so definitely get yourself some x

Sussexbysea · 22/07/2020 10:15

Thanks everyone for your concerns. Just waiting to hear back from the midwife. X

Headingtowardsforty · 22/07/2020 10:23

@Bl0ndi3 I've never bothered with one to sleep in before, but I think I'll have to this time. I don't remember them growing this quickly last time round.

Clara9 · 22/07/2020 10:25

That was one my first signs I was pregnant, boobs juts felt so heavy! Sleeping in bras most of the time now.

GAW19 · 22/07/2020 13:31

Hey, is it okay to join?

Found out this week Smile I'm 5 weeks, due 23rd March, second baby! First time I needed fertility treatment, this time was all natural so a bit of a shock 😁

Headingtowardsforty · 22/07/2020 13:51

@GAW19 hi, of course, welcome. Everyone here is lovely.
