Hi guys! Just found out were expecting. Very early but have no one else I can compare symptoms or questions with. Also thought it would be nice to follow pregnancies together. Expected due date should be the middle of March!

@Bl0ndi3, oh, thanks so much for that. You've really put my mind at ease! Somehow I thought I should be on 3+ already. I am just worrying myself unnecessarily! I'll wait for a week and try then, hopefully it will be 3+! Is this your first? I haven't tried Clearblue with my DS, as I had my symptoms changing almost everyday from 6w,so I thought that was a sign that all was good 🤣

Bl0ndi3 · 20/07/2020 19:05

@Sandra1212 haha yeah I was a bit disappointed I only got 1-2 weeks today as I'm nearly 5 weeks but it was SMU so I'm putting it down to that! Have ordered 2 more now so I can get 2-3 and then 3+ haha x
@lookingatthings How old is your DS? I made a half hearted attempt at reusable nappies with DS#1 (mostly Tots Bots and Close Pop-Ins but a few Bambino Mios too) but would like to really go for it this time. I used Cheeky Wipes pretty much exclusively and they were great, particularly for the early days. Much better than water and cotton wool!

I'm also pretty set for baby things but I do need a new cot and mattress (although I'm in no rush to buy one as DS never slept in one - I am thinking of co-sleeping once the Snuzpod is outgrown although perhaps I'll have a unicorn baby this time who likes to sleep independently). I'm also going to buy a new pram. I've got one now with a bassinet for when the baby needs to lie flat and it's fine for most of my needs but I want an Out n About pram too for countryside walks. Blush I've also got a stroller to chuck in the car as well but it'll be nice for the new baby to have some of its own things and I'll be breastfeeding so not spending money on formula or bottles and all of that stuff.
Sorry @helia I only just saw your message. DS is 16m. I found the choice and styles of all in one's and all in twos really overwhelming- and after going back and forth over brands and reviews and absorbancy I decided to go back to basics with Terry and muslins squares. I really truely recommend it. It's not as complicated as it seems, they dry really quickly, and they make great burp cloths / any other spill clean up. I've genuinely never had a leak, even in the newborn explosive poop days.

The down side is it does take a little bit of extra time to fold them: I fold all mine straight off the line so I have them in a stack ready to go. But it's a small downside. When I think of all the money I haven't spent of nappies I'm really quite chuffed with myself Grin

Hi everyone, I’ve booked an early scan for tomorrow where I’ll be 7+3. They said baby would most likely look like a blob, but I should definitely see the heartbeat! So nervous! I didn’t have an early scan with my son, and I wasn’t going to have one this time around, but I’ve been having brown discharge for the past week so I really need some reassurance!

Sussexbysea · 20/07/2020 19:25

@Rainbow1808 fingers crossed for you. Let us know how you get on x

Rainbow1808 · 20/07/2020 19:27

@Sussexbysea thank you, I will do! X

Tests last Tuesday and today. Looks as though my hcg is going up. How accurate is this as a prediction as it means I’m a little further along than I thought I was.

Morning everyone, how we all doing today?

My boobs feel swollen today, my sickness was immediate when I woke up and I’m thirsty!!

Sussexbysea · 21/07/2020 07:13

@Clara9 pretty accurate. The first day of your last period will is what the midwives will work from

Headingtowardsforty · 21/07/2020 07:58

Morning all, I was feeling pretty okay this morning until I cleaned my teeth! Last time peppermint made me gag all the time, think I'm going to have to switch to kids toothpaste again. My breasts are constantly aching now, I'm going to have to get a bigger bra soon.

ElsiesJourney · 21/07/2020 08:06

First full on vom this morning 🤢 feel rough as! Managed to get out of my 9am zoom meeting and hopefully it settles down....
I get migraines that make me feel sicky normally so much colleague just assumed it was that- feel a bit naughty not being honest!!

Clara9 · 21/07/2020 08:27

Thanks, @Sussexbysea!

Sussexbysea · 21/07/2020 08:41

@Headingtowardsforty @ElsiesJourney I stopped off after dropping my daughter at nursery and got myself some chocolate croissants, Kill or cure and It’s a bit in the middle. I need to get myself some tiger balm or hedex today, the headaches are starting to get worse.

Remind me..... when do we start to glow as beautiful pregnant women? Haha haha

Sh4mmy · 21/07/2020 08:44

Morning all, hope everyone is well today!

I've not really said much here, still in shock...@Headingtowardsforty did I read you're an older mum too?

Also @Sussexbysea and @Headingtowardsforty my boobs are bloody killing today, yesterday they felt much better but this morning...oh my god!!! I've also got implants so wondering if that's adding to it??

Sussexbysea · 21/07/2020 09:13

@Sh4mmy I said to my other half that I could probably get milk out of them. Obviously I cant but they feel like they did when my milk first came in. Like a rush sensation

I’m literally on countdown to my booking in appointment, then the scan. I wondered if I’ll get my scan date before or after my bookin in appt?

Sh4mmy · 21/07/2020 09:32

@Sussexbysea ha ha I know what you mean, this is exactly how mine feel right now! Was just saying to my OH (this is his first baby) that my boobs felt like they did when I had mastitis with my last baby!

What happens with scan dates and booking in appts now? It's all changed since I had my other babies! I'm waiting for my dr to call me on Thursday as I really want an early scan, due to my age and a MC in 2018!! I

Clara9 · 21/07/2020 09:51

@Sh4mmy I am not sure if the NHS do early scans, but you can book one privately. We have one booked for 7 weeks and it was about £50

Headingtowardsforty · 21/07/2020 09:53

@Sussexbysea my husband has kindly ordered me some lemon toothpaste, so hopefully that'll help. But I am completely eating what I feel like, missing my coffee tho. My breasts weren't like this last time, so hopefully it'll mean I get milk this time as it never came in last time.

@sh4mmy I am indeed an older mum, despite my username I am, actually 42. And this is a complete surprise as my son is 10.
My scan appointment has just arrived in the post - 26th August, yay!

Sussexbysea · 21/07/2020 09:59

@Sh4mmy that’s exactly what I thought in the shower, how weird!

My hospital trust is self referral for antenatal I’ll be 7 and a bit weeks when I have my booking in appointment. NHS won’t do an early scan unless you are offered one by the midwife if they have any concerns etc.

ValidUser · 21/07/2020 10:03

@Clara9 or there might be more than one in there!

Mine just went up to 2-3 yesterday, exactly 14 days after egg collection.

Oldermum80 · 21/07/2020 10:05

I’ve been reading posts but didn’t want to join and tempt fate but here I am.
I was in due Nov 2020, but sadly had a missed miscarriage after another early miscarriage where I would have been due in two weeks time.
This is my fifth pregnancy with two children already at 18 and 15. All pregnancies were planned but I never planned such a huge gap but my new partner has no children and we only met three years ago.
Praying this one works out as I will be 41 soon and although I always wanted another child but I didn’t plan on having children past 37! With only testing after three miscarriages I think it will be too late for us to continue.
I am constantly testing on cheap internet sticks. Obsessive I know but I would rather be prepared for something going wrong and as with my last two, I don’t have any real symptoms. I actually want morning sickness to start! Hoping for an early reassurance scan.

Oldermum80 · 21/07/2020 10:07

Forgot to say I’m only around 4 weeks and 3 days so due around 26th March.

Sussexbysea · 21/07/2020 10:37

@Oldermum80 welcome and congrats! We‘re a real mixed bag of ages in here so age really is just a number here :)

How frequently are you testing?xx

Sussexbysea · 21/07/2020 10:41

@Headingtowardsforty I never knew they did Lemon toothpaste. I used to drink so much tea that I changed to decaff a year or so ago so I’m ok. I do love a cheeky latte though.

@Sh4mmy 26th August, wahoo! Although I bet that’ll be the longest 5 weeks of your life! I think once you get past 12 weeks everything starts to speed up xx

Oldermum80 · 21/07/2020 10:46

@Sussexbysea just everyday Blush it doesn’t help that I’m off work so I have too much time on my hands
